Hi Me and my wife are planning to  travel  from Denmark to Sicily next May . We would like to go via Switzerland and take some of the nice trips there , regular trains.I would like if i can get some advice about  nigthtrains from Hamburg to Basel , trips to take in Switzerland and suggestions how to get from there to Sicily , ferry etc. And off course nice places to visit we have time enough.

I am currently a student and I am planning my first ever interailing trip for after my exams in the summer with some friends from school. With my current ideas, I am worried that I am trying to do too much in only a month. My trip will be starting and finishing from London St Pancras. I’d ideally like a trip that has great food, fun outdoor activities to do and warm weather with beaches were possible. I’m probably going to go in the middle of august as that’s when the weather will be best - I’m also aware this time is very popular so everything will be slightly more expensive and busy. Is it worth buying the one month pass or is it better to buy a limited number of specific travel days? Also, anyone who has used a first class pass, was it worth it? In terms of the actual trains, I’d prefer to do sleeper trains to save money by spending fewer nights in hostels/Airbnb's. I’ve heard good things about the nightjet sleeper capsule trains from Vienna so that’s on my list of trains to try (po

Has anyone noticed that Hungarian stations are missing at the moment Try Gyoer to Szolnok produces just one train.  also so smaller stations missing.

Hi,  Hope the community can help.   I am a first time interrailer and travelling with my two children over Xmas week from Paris going east and returning to Paris ( 20th to 27th ) ,   I am looking to get out of Paris around 5pm on the 20th but it seems the new timetable isnt released until mid December ?     What i need to know is   What is the latest bookable Interrail-compatible train from Paris Est on Sunday 20 December 2026 to Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Mannheim or another suitable point towards Lake Constance? And specifically:Is there a direct TGV/ICE from Paris Est after approximately 19:00?What time does it arrive?Does it require a reservation? Can three passengers travel on the Interrail pass on that service?

Yesterday on the train stretch from Basel to Strasbourg TER96236 17:51 one of my suitcases was stolen, I want to know if there was any return report, if there is any compensation or to whom I should report this situation.Ayer en el tramo en tren desde Basel a Estrasburgo TER96236 17:51 fue robada una de mis maletas, Quiero saber si hubo algún reporte de devolución, si hay alguna compensación o a quien debo reportar esta situación.

I have created two delay compensation requests for me (1501244 and 1501498) and then two more for my travel partner (so four in total, because we experienced the same delays). It’s been over a month since I created these requests and I haven’t heard anything from Interrail (not even a “we’re looking into it”, nothing...are they even looking into these, if yes how long does it usually take, do they need any more info from me? etc.).Is this kind of delay in processing requests normal?

Hi everybody, we’re about to start our trip on Saturday and I started activating the passes (7-day global), realizing I need an ID document to activate the passes. My children aged 8 and 5 don’t have any ID yet. Do I need to activate the children’s passes at all for they’re not paying anyway? Thank you for your help and advice

How come I don’t see train schedule after 12 Dec 2026?

As yet I have not purchased a rail card, it will most probably be second class, I  would like to travel from Milan to Bari by sleeper, cabin reservation for two, both with passes. Travel will be the end of May, so currently I can’t see what the cost will be.Can anyone advise, what the cost would be for the journey?

I really need to get from Paris to Berlin—or at least Warsaw—today. There seem to be no options at all; the Interrail website shows no available seats on TGV trains. What should I do?

Hello,I have won a 7-day Polish-German Friendship Pass, and I have a question about how it works. In the tutorial video, I noticed that it might be possible to pause the pass. Does this mean that, during my trip, I can stay in Berlin for three days, pause the pass during my stay, and then reactivate it afterwards, so that I still have six days of train travel remaining?Or, once I activate the pass, do the seven days run consecutively, meaning that the pass continues to expire even if I stop travelling and stay in one place for a few days?

Hi everyone, Hope you are all good.I have a specific interrailing question that I would like to be answered, and I will need a reply soon because today is the last day I can refund my pass, as I purchased it a week ago  as part of the 50% discount. This was on a bit of a whim, not really sure if I was going to use it or not. It is now getting towards the deadline (this is today) by which the pass can be refunded and I will need some more information, quickly as to if it is worth progressing with.It is a months long continuous interrail pass and I will be starting in London, UK.Due to work commitments I will (realistically) only be able to take up to 13 potentially 14 days off holiday (this is Monday to Friday so two and a half weeks working days) to go interrailing. This could be extended to 18 days if I include the two weekends . So this means S, S, M, T, W, T, F, S, S, M, T, W, T, F, S, S, M, T, W. Realistically however I can’t see myself taking the additional half week off so will p

Hi all. I'm worried about sometimes only having 5 minutes between interchange trains. If a bought a ticket from Zermatt to Interlaken but for example the train interchange for Visp to Spiez is only 5 minutes do I ignore that and just get on next train.? How does this work with reserved seats and luggage?. Sue 🤗

Hello. My family of 4 from Australia bought an interrail global pass for our trip to Europe this December. Our transport between cities will be entirely by rail. The itinerary looks like: 20 Dec - Frankfurt → Nuremberg23 Dec - Nuremberg → Salzburg26 Dec - Salzburg → Lucerne29 Dec - Lucerne → Strasbourg2 Jan - Strasbourg → ParisI would prefer to reserve seats on all trains just for peace of mind. I know about the December train schedule change but need some clarification.  Does this mean most of the schedules for the trains we will be taking will be released soon (mid October) but I will not be able to buy tickets and make seat reservations until mid December? Will these trains be very busy at this time of year in peoples experiences? What would a seasoned train traveler plan to do in my place? thank you

I still have 1 credit and have a travel day in the Global Plus Beta pass, Seats are available in the train( requirement 1 credit only ), still I am getting the error as “ You have used all your Plus pass reservation” could some one guide me why do I get this error.

I am planning my trip, but most trains do not yet have schedules for my desired dates. How can I add the journeys and modify them once bookings open?

Hey! I got a Deutsch-Polnischer Freundschaftspass and I was wondering, as I’m a Hungarian citizen but staying in Germany how can I prove that I’m a resident?

On monday 12th of October I am travelling with AVE 9730 from Montpellier to Madrid. And I was wondering what train type operates this route, and if there is a seat map of this train? If yes where can I find the seat map?

Hi AllI’ve got a 1 month pass and looking to visit Scandinavia for the most part initially, i.e Eurostar direct from London to Amsterdam, then onto to Copenhagen for a couple of days, then maybe another stop in Denmark somewhere before shifting up to Sweden, Stockholm for a day or 2, plus 2 other stops maybe, then across to Norway for 3 or 4 stops, going all the way over the top around to Finland, stopping a day or 2 somewhere before arriving in Helsinki for a day maybe 2, then a ferry across to Talinn, Estonia (no stopping unless I have to) then down to Latvia, Lithuania, Poland with a couple of days in each, then Slovenia (Ljubljana I’d like to see) for 1 may 2 days, then a non stop sleeper hopefully, direct to northern Spain and Portugal for a few days before returning to London with one stop in Cologne. Can it be done on a reasonable budget? Will I have enough time? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.Thank you !Midge
