Solved

Hello railpass experts.I have made my reservations (and got the tickets with bar codes etc from Eurail, Eurostar etc). Now trying to add my journeys from the planner into my rail pass (for start of travel tomorrow) but the app won’t let me slide my journeys from the trip planner to the rail pass because it says that I need reservations (which I have, but it doesn’t know about reservations). Do I just activate a travel day and forget about adding the journeys? The app doesn’t seem to be very useful! Or am I being very stupid?!

Hello, beautiful community. The use case is this: On a sleeper train that arrives the next day, what day does one enter to record the trip on the paper pass?  Day of departure, or arrival? This is on a Global Interrail Pass, 5 days in a month.  I have one day left on it.Thanks!

I have a global pass for 3 months and I’am trying to add it to “my pass” in the interrail app. The app does not accept my coverpass Nbr because it has 8 digits in stead of 6. The app says the number has to match with the number in the order confirmation email but I only find an order payment confirmation in my mailbox where I do not find a 6 digits pass number. How can I resolve this problem

trying to book on GWR-website a seat only reservation (I have a valid global interrail pass) for the night sleeper between London Paddington and Penzance on 7 or 8th October. I made an GWR account but still I do not find the path to book such a reservation. Although I did a lot of seat reservations for Sweden, Danmark, Germany, Austria, Switserland and Italy, I do not find another UK-solution than buying a normal ticket but that is against interrail philosophy and that’s the reason why I’am truying to avoid that. Is here somebody who succeeded in making RECENTLY a ONLINE reservation for that night sleeper on the GWR site of on something else?

I am travelling for the next week around Hungary with a 1st class Eurail pass and will use a number of domestic IC trains (such as Budapest to Pecs and to Debrecen).Am I right that I must have a paid reservation to board these trains? What is the best / cheapest way to book these?I see I can book for close to $6 each through Eurail, likely less through Czech railways. Is it possible to book at ticket desks in Hungary, or even on the train? Many of these trains run frequently and I would like to leave it to the last minute to decide what trains to take (which is part of the point of Eurail….)

Good day everyone,I checked my seat reservation from Munich to Berlin on the 31st of October and saw that there has been a timetable change. Upon clicking on the alternative options, the fastest direct route is now 6 hours. Did I miss something?A couple of questions…Is there a shorter way? Do I just look at the alternatives and accept?Thank you!

Timetable on the rail planner shows ‘not available to passholders’ (doesn't even show the train unless prompted) but train cancelled because booked with a rail pass on Eurail. What does this mean? Many thanks.

Hi. Will I be able to use the Eurail Global Pass from Frankfurt Main train station to Rudesheim Am Rhein? I was checking the DB app and the train line is only showing the VIAS Gmbh operator. Is there any other operator from Frankfurt Main to Rudesheim where I can use the Eurail Global pass? I can’t find any DB and RE train lines. Thank you.

Hello , I would like to ask if I can travel from Athens Greece to Lisbon Portugal via train , using the fastest way( the airline ticket is too costly) Is that possible to go from Athens at Friday and arrive Lisbon on Saturday ? Because I need to bring my kids with me. I see that the kids are free of charge so that I only need to buy 1 adult ticket, right ?

I’ve bought seat reservations from OBB for travel within Italy (Verona to Milan and Milan to Turin). Is it necessary to print the PDF tickets? Or can I just show them on my phone? If anyone has recent experience of this, I’d be grateful for your advice. It would be much easier if I don’t have to print them, but the instructions from OBB clearly say they have to be printed! Thanks.

Hi, we have an unlimited 1 month pass. When we book seats we get a QR code. When do plan a trip and try to generate a code nothing happens. Some inspectors are fine saying the pass is the ticket. Others want to scan a code. Do we need to have a code for every journey? If we do why isn’t one being generated?  Thanks

I have a 10 days global EU rail pass and i will be travelling from Paris on 27 Dec to Switzerland.  I would like to ride on Glacier Express and / or Bernina express.  I need to be in Rotterdam on 2 Jan late afternoom.  Can someone please give me advice on the route. I am also unsure of the best way to travel from Switzerland to Rotterdam as i have heard that the Nightjet may not be a good option. Please also share tips on how to avoid bookings with a fee.  Many thanks

I bought a 10 day pass 7 days ago today and realise I only need a 7 day pass. I thought it was 100% refund but just saw that there’s a fee of 15euro per pass? Is that true? Wondering if cheaper to keep 10 day pass and just use a few more days of it on local trains? Thanks

Definitely bought an InterRail mobile pass but it keeps showing seat reservations in dollars? I’m from the uk.worried it will be costing more but have a Monzo card so maybe doesn’t matter as they don’t charge foreign transaction fees? Thanks!

Hello,We will be travelling on a 8.48 am TGV from Valence to Antibes on Oct 2nd. We were hoping to arrive at Valence at 8.33am on a TER from Grenoble, but are now unsure if that leaves us with a too tight margin. What do you think, is 15 mins going to be enough or should we take an earlier TER instead?

I would like to travel from Rotterdam to Pairs on 26 Dec 2024 and I have bought 10 days EU Rail Flexi global pass.  What is the earliest date I can book a seat on EUR 9322?  Do I have to book it through EU Rail website please?  How much time do I need to allow for checking before boarding please?  Many thank

Currently in Sofia and intending to travel to Bucharest on Thursday 19th September 2024. At the international ticket office in Sofia railway station we reserved seats on the service as far as Ruse on the border. When we enquired with them about seat reservations for the leg from Ruse to Bucharest they said they didn’t know anything about it.The Romanian railways website is difficult to work with and appears to indicate there are no places on the train at all that day which seems strange.Does anybody know how I can book seat reservations on this Ruse to Bucharest train 460 in advance and from Sofia?

Hi! I am Ebo from Japan! Me and my family really need your help to plan our winter trip. Here are our details. With these conditions, could you plan our trip with train details?I tried to consult with Chat GPT but it didn't really help… We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children (ages 10, 8, 6). We will be landing in Milan on the morning of December 15, 2024. Our final destination is London, around December 21st or 22nd. We would love to include a night train during our trip. We would also love to stop by Belgium because our children talk about Belgium waffles every day that they saw on TV.Our plan right now is..15 16 Dec Milan17 Milan to Zurich Zurich to Amsterdam by nightjet18 Amsterdam19 Amsterdam to Brussels 20 Brussels 21 Brussels to London    Currently, the Yen is very weak, so we would like to minimize our expenses. we are very flexible for schedule right now so any recommendation really help.   We prefer not to stop Paris this time because we would love to visit other time for l

We (retired Canadian couple) are thinking of a train trip leaving Vienna in Mid November and then travelling through Italy to Sicily, 2 weeks in Sicily (Palermo as base or ???) then on to northern Spain and end up in Bucharest for Xmas then back to Vienna for New Year..any thoughts?  Ferry to Palermo from Civitavecchia? then back to Civitavecchia and ferry to Barcelona (advice please.. is it advisable in winter ?) . San Sebastian, Bilbao or ?? in northern Spain (2 weeks so somewhere that’s a good jumping off point) then to somewhere in France (tips please), Turin then Lubljanana and on to Bucharest.  We speak Italian, French, and basic German and Spanish.  Any advice much appreciated. Weather isn’t much of a concern as we live in Newfoundland so anything that isn’t rain drizzle or fog is a bonus.

I am flying into Paris CDG in on oct 17 2024. I have purchased a first class one month country pass for France. I arrive at Paris CDG at around 12:30 pm and would like to take the train from Paris Gare Montparnasse. It takes about 1:05 min to get from Paris CDG to Gare Paris Montparnasse.   The eurail website says I need a reservation to board the train to Bordeaux at Gare Paris Montparnasse. I am uncertain if my flight will arrive on time so am unsure what train to book my reservation on. Is there usually enough room on the train so that I could make a reservation at Paris CDG when I arrive and know when I will get to Gare Paris Montparnass?

Hello fellow travellers. This is my first time considering a Eurail pass and I'm specifically looking at the Sweden Flexi Pass or Global Flexi Pass. I am not sure if I am getting the correct information online so would appreciate it if someone can help confirm this.  Can I use the Sweden Flexi Pass and Global Flexi Pass on the overnight Vy Nattag to Kiruna? I am yet to  decide between the two but would appreciate some clarity on the validity.  For overnight train, am I correct that only the day of boarding will be counted as one day?

I'm deciding whether to use an interrail pass or buy regular tickets for next summer. Using existing timetables as a general guide. I know these will be updated but I just want to get an idea of costs etc. If I use the interrail pass it says there are two supplements to pay on the return journey (part of our return leg is Amsterdam to London). It requires a supplement for Amsterdam to Brussels and then again for Brussels to London. Can the Amsterdam to Brussels supplement be avoided? (Travelling on a Thursday in August 2025) On the outward leg of the journey (July) there is just one supplement (Eurostar) and one train covering the  same distance - ie London to Amsterdam (direct, no change in Brussels). (We're then going further north and traveling around the netherlands.) Thank you!

In under a week I will be travelling to Venice from the UK via Switzerland.   It would seem that the weakest link in my journey is a train from Tirano to Milan.   The line has only recently reopened following a month of engineering work, but many trains are currently arriving more than 45 minutes late.  I’ve now selected an earlier train from Tirano which should leave me ample time to catch my connection to Venice  even with a 45 minute delay.  I haven’t, however, allowed for 2 hour delays which have occcasionally been occuring! My question is - what do I do if I miss my connection - as trains from MIlan to Venice have compulsory reservations?   Can I use the interrail app to purchase last minute seat reservations for a later train?  (I read somewhere that seat reservations on the day can only be purchased from ticket offices.  Hopefully this was just wrong.)If I do miss my train is there anything I can do to get a refund for my original seat reservation, given that the fault would lie

I am staying in Poggio Somavilla in Collevecchio and need to be at Rome Fiumicino airport at 10:00 on Thursday morning (19/09).  The first train from Collevecchio Poggio Somavilla station is at 07:52 arriving at the airport station at about 09:45.  As the trains are scheduled hourly if that train does not run for any reason the next train would be the 08:52 which arrives at the airport too late!  :(   Are the regional trains in Italy sufficiently reliable to make an airport connection?  (As it is the first train of the day there is no option to get an earlier train!) :(
