Solved

We bought a couple of Global Passes yesterday (7 days in a month - 1st Class) which we secured just before the 20% discount ran out. Only condition is I can’t book anything commencing before Sep 1st, and we don’t leave Australia until Sep 8th, and won’t start the ticket use until late Sep.Made our first booking today (London to Zurich) - no problem.Up to the second booking now (Florence to Rome) and have noticed an anomaly.reservation fees start from EUR30 (1st & 2nd - 2 reservations) as soon as I select a specific service, the price jumps to EUR56 - no matter which service if I try my next booking (London to Milan) same thing occursIf I log out, all bookings on these routes revert to EUR30.Is there something strange occurring in Italy with reservations atm, or is this just the railway company gouging extra for the component of the ticket price they didn’t get? If it’s the latter, I’m feeling very ripped off!!!

Hallo.

24th i travel from vienna to salzburg, but then get a night train to Venice at 01:11.  Ii take it thats two different days travel ?

Wondering if the current discount is also available when buying in person at a DB?

Hi all!I’m planning a trip with my partner this August to France, with a brief stint in Switzerland to meet some friends. We decided to buy 4-day interrail passes to make travel easier. Our current itinerary for our travel days:Day 1: London » Paris » Camping spot one?Day 2: Camping spot one? » FribourgDay 3: Fribourg » Camping spot twoDay 4: Camping spot two? » Paris » LondonI’ve already booked seat for our Eurostar to and from Paris, but I’d be very grateful to get some advice on the two camping spots above! Here are the specific criteria:Camping spot one (3-4 nights):We can reach it from Paris in a day (starting from Gare du Nord around 9:30-10:00) We can reach Fribourg from it in a day Easy to reach from train station via walking/bus/hitchhikingCamping spot two (2-3 nights):We can reach it from Fribourg in day We can reach Paris from it in a day (making sure we get to Gare du Nord by 21:00) Easy to reach from train station via walking/bus/hitchhikingThings we like generally:hiking i

Hi everyone,My boyfriend and me are going to do interrail from Norway to Budapest in September and we want to know if the 1st class is worth in north-europe trains. Our trip will have the following stops:Bergen - Oslo - Stockholm - Gothenburg - Copenhagen - Berlin - Budapest Kind regards.

Hello everyone !On Thursday 25th. of July I will be travelling from Pisa in Italy to Genève in Switzerland via Nice and Lyon in France. I’ve booked seat reservations with trenitalia as far as the border town of Ventimgilia and should theoretically proceed on to Nice, then Lyon and Finally Geneva. However I’ve noticed that the intercity that I have booked (IC 659) from Genoa to Ventimiglia is almost constantely delayed which could be a problem for me as I have to take the 13h17 train (86042) from Venimiglia to catch my TGV (6850) in Nice to reach my destination. I could go on taking the next train from Ventimiglia but I wouldn’t go further than Lyon as I would arrive after the departure of the last train to Geneva… I have asked to trenitalia’s staff multiple times what could I do in this situation but they have always said to me that, with an interrail, they cannot pay me an hotel for the night or give me a normal ticket to continue my journey the next day (According to them, I would ha

Any issues because of CrowdStrike while travelling by train in the EU? News outlets are mostly yabbing about problems at airports but those do not interest me for one bit.

Evening all! I was planning to travel from Laufenberg to Friedrichshafen on sunday the 25th August, They just got a notification about a timetable change and now it can’t find an alternative connection. Should I wait a few days and see if it fixes itself or is it better to pursue other routes? Or is it due to engineering works? fbanks!

Wondering if there is a train the runs from Geneva Airport to Chamonix? How can I find the schedule? Thanks so much in advance.

Hey, I am currently in Bordeaux and would like to go hiking around the nationalpark pico de europa. I will head there on Monday morning, so quite spontaneous. Did anyone do that like me, would you suggest going to Gijon or Santander or something else. Thanks for your suggestions:)Lorenz

Is there an issue with rail planner app? I am not able to see my trips. thanks.

Hi Every one, I am planning a trip from Hamburg to Italy for 7 days by booking Eurail Global Pass along with my wife and kid(5 years) in August month end.Route is like this:Hamburg → Milan → Venice → Florence → Pisa → Rome → Vatican city → HamburgI have few questions related to this ticket. Is it good idea to travel with this ticket rather than multiple Train tickets ? Will this ticket will be valid across the Local Trains,Buses,Metros, Trams and Ferrys ? If seat reservation needed , then can I book the seat through DB App or website or corresponding service provider app or web rather than booking in this app as its saying more than its service provider app.

Hi everyone, I want to get from Paris to Siena in August, and back again. Which route would you go? I’ve been looking into various options but because of the landslide etc it all seems a bit complicated, and I’m struggling to find the simplest route. I’m happy to stop 1 or 2 nights on the way so would also like to take into consideration which cities would be nicest to stay in. I’m currently thinking Paris - Basel - Milan - Siena?Any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks, Helen :-)

Bonjour Encore une "difficulté" à surmonter... je parcours demain Prague Budapest.  J'ai mon billet et mon global-pass.  Mais sur l'appli il est indiqué que ce voyage n'est associé à aucun pass . Comment faire? Est-ce nécessaire ? Merci !

Hi I am Francesco and i would like this summer to make a trip with inter rail and going from Italy to FinlandRome->Geneve->Lyon->Paris->Luxemburg->Bruxelles->Bruges->Amsterdam->Hamburg->Copenaghen->Stokholm->TurkuI will come back by airplane. I have some questions:Rome Geneve: I should take first a train to milan and then a train from geneve, are they both included in the global pass ticket? Did i understand right that i should pay an extra for fast train ? is Stokholm - Turku ferries included? What kind of pass would you suggest for this kind of trip? i was thinking continuos pass 22 days or maybe it is better take the flexible 7 days pass and pay some  trip with normal tickets

I am trying to purchase the 20 per cent discounted Global Paper Pass, but the ‘details’ required include a ‘start date’ for the Eurailpass. I want to leave this blank as I have for previous purchases of paper passes, but the system won’t let me, as it insists on a date. How do I solve this?

Hi all! It’s my first time traveling with Interrail (Global Pass) and I’m wondering if I’ve gotten myself into an unfortunate situation with my inbound journey. My home country is Sweden, and my return plan is to take an overnight train from Hamburg to Malmö, then transfer there and return to Stockholm (I’ve booked the seats for these two stretches together, from Snälltåget’s website). However, I’m wondering if I’ll actually be able to travel both of these stretches using my inbound journey, as the overnight train leaves Hamburg at 11:59pm, and I’m concerned that this will be marked as two trips involving Sweden on two different days (Hamburg-Malmö departing on Tuesday [again, this is at 23:59], and Malmö-Stockholm on Wednesday). I know night train travel days are assigned to the date of departure, but I haven’t been able to find any other clear information on how the rules apply here.If anyone would be able to tell me how the inbound journey rule applies here, and what I could do, I wo

Bij de ‘other ways to book this seat reservation’ staat: ‘Book in person at a main station in Europe’ of ‘Reseervations only locally at train station in Spain’. Mijn vraag is of ik dus gewoon in NL op Den Haag Centraal een reservering kan doen of dus alleen wanneer ik op Madrid op het station ben en of dit dan het desbetreffende station moet zijn waar ik van vertrek? Bedankt

Currently railing round europe on a 7 day pass largely making it up as i go.  I havent used any inbound or outbound days yet and one oprion i have is i could fly back to uk from a european city after using 5 days up.  Question is if both remaining outbound and inbound days are still unused could i use them to go to somewhere in uk?  Or somewhere in europe (say a weekend in amsterdam) or would they be lost?

As I have noticed, the Rail Planner app is not the best choice to track the platforms and changes in time of trains as it is not really updated. Then, is there an app that I can search all of my trains and can see the live tracker of time of arrival/delays, and which platforms I need to get on and off?  I know it is possible to see the screen on the station, but my trip consists of multiple big trip with 3-4 transits and I need to hop and and off very quickly in some of them. It would be very nice to be able to live track my train when I am in it, then see which platform it will arrive on, and see which platform I need to be for my next train. So I already have an idea in mind before getting of the train. Most app like trainline, DB app (please tell me if i’m wrong), offer the live updates thing, but I think I can only plan my trip if I purchase the tickets on their app itself. But if we have interaill pass, we don’t really “book” any of our trips, only the ones with seat reservation.

I just bought the Global Pass (5 days) for a journey with 5 friends and i realize now that i had to buy all the passes for all the 6 people (me included) but i only bought my pass.Is this a problem or its better to buy separate passesIf this is a problem there is a way to solve this?

I have a ticket from London Kings to York. However, I trying to make seat reservations and not sure which train company is EXP.

Hi,I have EuroRail Global pass.I have just made the reservation on NightJet for  Zurich to Prague for my family (2 adult , 1 youth and 1 child). My question was: Is this reservation sufficient or do I need to book a ticket also for that route using by Euroral Global Pass ? Please advise, Thanks

Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I are first time Interrailers and we bought a 7 days in 1 month Global Pass. Our journey will start next Friday, so we haven't activated our pass yet but are looking into that. We just don't really get how it works...we read that once you activate your Pass, you can't change your trip anymore. But what if our train time(s) change? We saw that you have to "swipe" your journey to get a ticket but we're just a bit confused and nervous about how it works exactly.Help is very much appreciated!
