I am planning a trip this summer:Travel Day 1 - my home in England to Lyon, FranceTravel Day 2 - Lyon to Verona, ItalyTravel Day 3 - Verona to Trieste, ItalyTravel Day 4 - Trieste to Innsbruck, AustriaTravel Day 5 - Innsbrick to my home in EnglandWhen I started to plan on the website planner, this came up as six travel days - I am confused about why this is.  Should I put Lyon as the first place I visit?  If so, how do I plan the journey from my home?

It’s now May and I’m checking the app for trains between Copenhagen and Stockholm for September and can’t see any, but train.ninja is showing lots.Do I conclude that there are no train journeys on which I can use my railcard, or does this mean the app hasn’t updated with train times for this far in the future? Thanks

Hi there,I am about to plan an Interrail-Trip with my family through the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Spain next summer. As seat reservations are really extraordinary expensive, we would like to skip them as often as possible. In the Netherlands and Belgium we will have some shorter journeys mainly up to one 45 minutes or one hour in an Intercity. Are trains in the Netherlands and Belgium normally crowded or shouldn’t it be a problem to fine some seats? We well be travelling late morning hours on weekdays and weekends. Thanks for your helpJohannes

I am considering buying an Interrail pass but I have a specific journey planned out. Is it possible to know whether there are pass holder seats left on specific journeys before I buy the Interrail pass? I am thinking specifically about Eurostar London to Paris, but also Paris to Munich, and Grenoble to Paris. If it’s not possible to know that before paying for the pass - I think that you can only get 85% back on unused passes, have I read that correctly? Thank you for your help!

If you haven't yet bought a global pass, can you make seat reservations on TGV?If yes, how? Thanks

Planning on getting a Eurail Global pass 22 Days for November and December travelling through Switzerland 8 days then onto Germany starting at Stuttgart for Christmas markets tour. Just want to know can we travel from Luzern to Stuttgart using the Eurail pass or do we have to go through Basel to get to Germany? Have read this on another site. Thanks for any advice.

Bonsoir!

Hello,I know I am not the only one waiting for the reservations to open for the SJ94 train from Stockholm to Narvik, even with a change at Boden and Bjørkliden.I checked just now on sj.se : what is open is only a departure today and tomorrow. Starting the 22th, it says “Not available” but between 16th and 21th of May, it says “We didn’t find any matching departures”.Is this due to the derailment ? I thought that the train ran daily (even with the Boden connection). Does it ?I plan to travel at the very beginning of July. My final destination is Tromsø. I am looking for an alternative route in case I could not get a ticket through Narvik (and I feel I will know that only a few days before). Do you know if it is easy to travel from Stockholm to Trondheim without a reservation (local trains ?), or with a last minute reservation ? Same question for Trondheim-Bodø even with a seat in the night train.Thank you for any other route suggestion.

We're planning a trip from Amsterdam to visit the UK.  If we buy global passes for the UK, is the Eurostar included, since it's travel to/from our home country (NL) ?  Anything special needed to know on booking reservations on Eurostar? Also, if we buy first class passes, will that translate to Standard Premier on Eurostar? Thanks!

I am writing this message on May 12.  We have European trip scheduled to begin August 21.  We prefer global paper passes to digital passes.  How long does it take to receive a paper pass in the eastern USA?  If it doesn’t arrive in time, can we exchange paper pass for global digital pass?  Under this exchange scenario, please briefly describe the process/conditions.  Thank you.

Hi!! im from South London and would love to meet some people who are nearby to go travelling with :) of course we’d meet first at figure out the vibe but id love to go to Greece (Athens) for scuba diving and the general history :D I have 2 weeks off in March 2025 that I need to use and would love to spend it interrailing

HelloI can see the following train journey on the Rail Europe website:TGV #987009:01 Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport TGV Sat 14 Sep 11:05 to StrasbourgTGV INOUI #989812:31 Strasbourg 14:04 Bettembourg Autocar #6841314:19 Bettembourg 14:48 LuxembourgYet it isn’t shown on the Eurail PlannerI haven’t bought my Eurail pass yet as trip isn’t planned to start until mid September 2024I believe that INOUI journeys don’t ‘qualify’ for the Eurail Pass? How can I reserve this train journey? All advice appreciatedThanks

Can I travel with and without a kids with my train 2 months train pass (which already fill to travel with 2 kids)

I am writing this inquiry on May 12, 2024.  We live in the United States and will begin our European trip on August 21.  We prefer paper passes over digital passes.  How long will it take to deliver paper passes by mail to the eastern United States?  Are signatures required for mailing (receipt) of paper passes? Also, if we do not receive the paper passes in time, can they be exchanged for mobile passes?  Under this exchange scenario what is/are the process/conditions of exchange.  Thank you.

I have searched Eurail website and I am not able to find a way to reserve ferry ticket. Does Eurail global pass include this ferry?

I am traveling in Portugal and cannot bypass the station gates. What can I do? It seems they use a chip detector for local travel cards. Is there anyway to use my Eurail pass to get through the gates and access the train platforms?

Hello,On the Rail Planner application, on a night train journey between Budapest (HUN) and Brasov (ROM) on 14 July 2024, I see that booking is compulsory and I am offered 3 fares: a seat at €5, a bed in a shared compartment at €15 and a private cabin at €100.When I go to the interrail.eu website to book my seat, I'm only offered a €5 seat, with no possibility of booking in a shared compartment.Does this mean that there are no more shared compartment seats? Or does it mean that you have to use another site?Because if I go to the website of the operating railway company, I can book a seat in a shared compartment, but at a much higher price...Sincerely

OK  Traveling in August from Bayreuth DE to St. Moritz-It’s 9 hours with 4(!) transfers.  Not sure it is advisable but particularly because one connection is 7 minutes. Is this a crazy endeavour?  On one transfer it tells me its a 10 minute walk. This one in Nurnberg has nothing just “transfer”The means of getting between these two points are kind of limited.  I could probably drive it but cars are insanely expensive with drop off in a different country as would be a car service though it might actually make some sense.I’m trying to plan carefully rather than put myself into a difficult situation.

Hello. We will take the 1st class Glazier Express to Zermatt from Chur. We realise that there is a menu on board - is taking your own wine and food frowned upon or accepted? Thank you.

I'm looking to book a trip from Paris through to Switzerland in late July. It looks like the most direct option with the least changes is Paris to Lausanne. However, when I go to book via the Eurail site it says that there are no seats available. No Eurail options are available for this timeframe on Rail Europe either.I've looked through other options on the day, and no TGV options are bookable while one INOUI option is. The same seems to be the case for the surrounding days. If I try and book earlier in the year, options are available for most tickets up until the end of June. Is there an earliest possible booking timeframe that I should be aware of? Looking online, some sources say up to two months in advance and that reservations are not limited for TGV Lyria, while others say three. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi there,My partner and I are planning to train from Milan to Grindelwald on Wednesday 31st July.I see we need to take a bus from Milano Centrale to Domodossola and it’s saying “seat reservations required” however it isn’t showing an option to purchase a seat. Does anyone know what we need to do for this? I have attached a screenshot of this below:Then we will take the train from Domodossola to Spiez, Spiez to Interlaken OST and Interlaken OST to Grindelwald. It says “You’re ready to board” for these segments, so we are unable to book a seat reservation for these. I’m worried that not confirming a seat reservation could mean we aren’t guaranteed a seat on these trains. Do we need to do anything else for these trains to help ensure we can catch them? Thanks for your help.Katelyn

Hi,We are a family of 6 - (2 adults, 2 teenagers, a 3 years old and 8 years old). We are planning to visit the following countries:Bulgaria (Sofia), Italy (Milan), Spain (Barcelona), Netherlands (Amsterdam), Belgium (Brussels), UK (London). We are thinking of buying the 4/5 days Global Pass and would consider flying to 1 or 2 of these destinations. My question is, what would be the easiest route with the least number of train changes.  Thank you.

Hello - I am in Australia looking to book a passholder reservation (Eurail global 2nd class) from Barcelona to Marseille on 4 July. This does not appear possible on the Eurail website and Rail Europe is not providing a passholder price, only full fare. Can I only book at a station once in Barcelona, and will passholder fares still be available then?thanks

I know in France, Italy, and Spain you pay 8-13 eu to make a reservation on a high speed train with a Eurail pass. But the last time I used Eurostar some years ago, it seemed like I was paying half or 2/3 of full fare even with the pass. I want to travel from London to Brussels. I also know that the fares differ at different times of day. Can someone tell me how it works please? Thanks.

Hello, I have EURAIL pass. I want to travel from Chur Switzerland to St. Moritz Switzerland. But I don’t see St. Moritz is a valid station for EURAIL. What I can do now?
