Merci beaucoup !

Hello everyone, my name is Nathan and I will be travelling with 6 of my friends all over the Europe this august between the 1st and 17th of August. We planned to do : Paris → Amsterdam  Amsterdam → Berlin Berlin → Vienne Vienne → Ljubljana Ljubljana → Zagreb Zagreb → Budapest Budapest → Prague and then take a flight between Prague and Paris We will stay in each place for 1 to 2 nights and sometimes take a train during the night in order to not pay any hostel (for ex. between Berlin and Amsterdam). However, when we try to reserve any seats, it says that we don’t need any reservations. Does that mean that we just go to the train and enter it hoping there are any places left ? If there any places available, can we just stay in the corridor or we must go out ? If we must go out of the train, we are in a pretty sh*tty situations since we have all of our hostels reserved in advance. How does we active a travel-day on our pass ? We just have to show our phone with the reservations ?

I want to visit a lot of countries, but I don’t know where better xD, please tell me if there are routes where the FERRY with Interrail is free or for almost a penny

Hi I am going to go on my bucket list trip in Europe in August/September this year. I am 65 years of age and be travelling with my wife. I am going to buy the 7 day Eurail pass for this trip. I am a bit confused about the seat reservations and I would appreciate any advise regarding seat reservations for these trips so that both of us to be together . My itinerary is as follows.August 26th - London to Paris -                      How to reserve seats together for both of us?August 28th - Paris to Geneva and then to Zermatt, Switzerland                      How to reserve seats for Paris to Geneva together for both of us?                      Is it advisable to reserve seats from Geneva to Zermatt and if so where to reserve it?August 30- Zermatt to Chur on Glazier express and then to Lucerne                   How to get a reservation only on Glazier express- When I go to their website I cant find                         anywhere to reserve with a Eurail pass                     Is it ad

Hello, I’m preparing for my Interrail this summer and I am booking some seat reservations. Is it normal to pay 15 euro for a 40 min train? I find it kind of expensive to pay 30 euros for two trains when the total travel time is 2 hours, when I have already paid for my Interrail pass. I did not find it expensive in other countries.

How can I indicate on external sites that I have an Interrail ticket? This is so poorly stated. It is not attractive at all to travel like this. What a hassle.

Hi,I am travelling to Italy, Switzerland & France. During this time I will be using trains and buses to travel from one place to another. My question here is if EURAIL pass covers the following train journeys completely or just provides some discount.“Venice-Como-Zurich-Rhine Falls- Lucerne- Interlaken-Paris. I will also be travelling to Mt. Titlis, Grindelwald, Lauterbrannen and Lake Brienz.”Additionally, Once I purchase the EURAIL pass can I directly hop on any train or do I have to make reservations first? If I need to make reservations then is there a particular website from where I do that or it can be any third party website like Omio, Trainline etc.? I understand that this question might have been asked multiple times but I am confused on this topic.

Hi there,  I got Schengen VISA for France starting 18/05. I am residence of UK and holds BRP so would go for Interrail Global 2nd class Pass. Now, to best utilize my first day (18/05) in Paris, I am planning to start from Edinburgh on 17/05 and would like to take night train at 19:58 from Edinburgh, which will reach London King Cross at night 1.05 AM. I would then take EuroStar morning train from London St Pancras at 6.30 for Paris.Could you please help answer.1.    If this night journey from Edinburgh to Paris will count as 1-day or 2-day travel for Interrail Pass? Do ‘7 pm rule’ still exists? Would appreciate, if one can suggest how to best utilize my first day with Interrail pass.2.    Can I make reservation on 1st class of Eurostar and in Bernina express (for Switzerland) , if I am holding 2nd class interrail pass? TIARegards

Need to reserve seats on 9am Budapest to Ljubljana train on 1st August.it says on ÖBB no ticket available?any ideas

Hello,I have one day left on an Interrail Europe pass. I would like to use it to travel from Cork to Belfast and back on the same day.from my reading on this forum it seems that tit is acceptable to use inbound/outbound on the one travel day. However I cannot add these trips to my journey or even find them on the planner - is this normal ?

I have been looking at reserving seats on this route via either the Eurail or Rail Europe website.Seats can be booked on Eurail using my Eurail global pass, but on Rail Europe it says that the rail pass is not valid, for the same trip/date/time.Any reason why the Eurail global pass would not be recognised by Rail Europe for this journey - it was for some time previously?

Hi, I am planning my first Interrail trip for this summer (~5 to 16 August, approx). My desired trip would be something such as: Lyon (departure city, I am not staying there) → Mannheim → Munich → Budapest → Bratislava → Vienna → Strasbourg → Lyon (arrival). I am flexible on dates and visited cities. I would like to book night trains in this trip, and Munich - Budapest then Vienna - Strasbourg seem to fit perfectly. However I can’t book any using the nightjet website: “no offers available”, but there are offers in July. Do you know what is going on there ? I’ve tried contacting OBB via their phone number but no answer. Thanks!

I gather (from the angels that hover over this forum) that it’s best to wait until just before boarding each train to activate that journey. As AnnaB, for example, put it in a reply on this forum last year:The advice from the experienced travellers in the community is also never to activate a travel day, that is connect a journey to your pass and create the ticket (QR code), until just before boarding the train, otherwise you might lose a travel day if your travel plans change at a late stage. So i’ve activated my pass; all 10 travel days are listed. I linked the journeys to them and then unlinked them again. The travel days are therefore “empty” in that they are waiting for me to reattach the journeys in “My Trip”, but they still exist. In “My Pass” under “Travel days” it says “10/10 used”. (I can cancel them and i can still deactivate the pass, so no probs there). However, this is where i’m (characteristically) confused:I’d like to leave those 10 empty travel days as they are, and add j

Hello all, Advice from experienced interrailers needed! We are travelling around a few countries in Europe for a few weeks in the summer and currently have booked the Paris-Salzburg sleeper, arriving in Salzburg 7th August. The next thing we have booked is a week in Tuscany from the 15th August. My question is how best to spend that week in between? I had thought to do Ljubljana-Pula, then Pula-Venice by ferry, then Venice-Siena, but I’m not sure if that’s a bit complicated and we’ll end up with not much time in each place? I would like to visit Slovenia and Croatia if possible but am aware it would only be a flying visit if I squeeze it into this week, plus there’s the additional cost of the ferry to think about. Could anyone either reassure me that the above plan is ok, or suggest an alternative which wouldn’t be too stressful but stops at a couple of nice places? Thanks very much - appreciate your time :-)

on August 1st I wanted to take the train from Bern to Basel number ic 984 at 8.04pm and Basel Berlin number ic 604009 at 9.13pm but I now notice that at the exact same time a NJ 409 NIGHTJET also leaves, how is this possible??

Hi, I'm having great difficulty booking seats on two French trains on August 7th. the site tells me they are sold out but apparently all the dates between now and October are sold out which seems very strange to me. in addition, the normal ticket can be purchased without problems from the snfc website. on the website https://www.raileurope.com/ it says that I can't buy the ticket with my pass, I don't understand why. For me it is essential to arrive in Barcelona on that day otherwise I will miss the whole trip, thank you very much in advance😭

We are trying to book a train from Interlaken to Rome. At one transition, (Domodossola) the site says “You need to buy a seat reservation to board”; however, there is not a place to purchase a seat. At the next stop (Milano Centrale), it says the same thing, but with an option to purchase. Does this mean the train at the Domodossola is sold out?  Also, it says BUS operated by Ferrovie dello stato SpA; does this mean an actual bus, or is it still a train (the other transfers say Regional Train).  Thank you.

Hi everyone, I want to book my trip Frankfurt to Paris with DB ICE. It is an DB train and I dont need seat reservation when I try to buy from DB application. But, I dont understand why do I need seat reservation when I check it from Interrail website and it is asking me to reserve a seat. Does anyone know why do I see seat reservation in my trip? Thanks,

Hello, I’m looking to book a train from Lille to Brussels and the cheapest option seems to be an intercity with a transfer in Tournai. The problem is it only shows me a transfer of 8 minutes and that seems quite short. I imagine this isn’t an unpopular route, so is it enough time with 1 suitcase?

Hi I was checking Amsterdam Centraal | A  brief station guide (seat61.com) , where it is written I can use Interail/Eurail QR code to go through gate pass. I want to utilize Interail pass for Amsterdam Centraal to Zaane Sachan trip via Sprinter.  Since this journey doesn't require a seat reservation, I would be going thru gates by Mobile Interail pass only. Now i have 3 passes in one mobile for 3 passengers. How other will scan the code if I will go through first with my mobile (and other two pass QR code in it) . Littel confusing. Could someone help here. TIA

Hi there! I’m reserving the seats for my trip from Switzerland to Venezia Mestre. I’m looking for which side to book for two of my trains, anyone has any recommendation or experience when taking the train? I also included the screenshot of the available seats illustration from the RailEurope (there are other coaches still available as well, but i’m not sure which direction will the train go, as the raileurope doesnt give an indication of that.. are both sides equally as good?):Bellinzona - Milano Central (free on choosing seats) Milano Centrale - Venezia Mestre this train cost 2 more euros to choose per seat, if i opt not to choose the seat, will the three of us be seated next to each other automatically?another question: I saw the next train does not require a reservation. Will this be safe considering i’m travelling on 26 July (peak summer)? Do you think it will be busy that we cannot get seats?

Hello! I am new to Eurail and have been reading and using the app but am still quite confused! My husband and I purchased the Eurail global pass for our first trip to Switzerland and France. We’re trying to get from Geneva Airport to Wengen. I see differing information on whether Eurail covers the train from Geneva to Lauterbrunnen (from which we’d purchase the ticket up to Wengen), as well as whether we can use the Eurail pass to get from Geneva Airport to the main Geneva station or if we have to purchase a ticket for that too. Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much!

I am traveling from Brussels Midi to Amsterdam Central tomorrow morning at 9:52 however I am seeing pass is not in network on Raill planner. Please advise
