Hi!What are the rules on missing a train connection if I haven’t reserved part of the journey? This is the route I am planning to take:Budapest (07h55) → Munich (14h32): Seat Reservations recommended14min transferMunich (14h46) → Mannheim (17h28): Seat Reservations optional10min transferMannheim (17h38) → Paris Est (20h43): Seat reservations requiredWhat happens if I miss a connection along the way or if I am denied boarding in Budapest because I did not take the recommended seat reservation? Am I allowed to continue to travel? And will I lose my seat reservation for the Paris train? Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone, Hopes everyone is doing well.Me and my friends are looking to book our seat reservations for our trip in July. But, what a surprise, when after the second destinations we saw that we can’t book any Trains for the rest of our trip.Reason : “Tarifs unavailableThe search for fares did not yield any results. The places reserved for Pass holders are probably exhausted. You will find other options at the bottom of our schedules.”We tried to book last week and it told us that we had to wait 90 days to get the seats available and now, 7 days later, it’s impossible to book them. Kind of strange when we try to book 2 ½ months before the trip. Like Interrail said multiple times on their website, 2 months before the trip is ok to have all of your seats. Do you guys have the same problem ? Any helps appreciated. Thanks travellers!Regards. Greg

As I said in the title I am a french citizen (also American citizen) but I live in the US can I buy interrail or do I have to opt for eurail?

Hi,I am planning a trip for the summer of 2024 and am looking to reserve my trains. When I go to reserve through the website it says “prices unavailable”. I followed the websites instructions and booked my reservations through the ck.cz website as advised. With these reservations, will I be okay to just show up on the day with my reservation from their website and with my inter rail pass? I do not want to get fined!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Hi Interrailers,There’s a small but non-negligible chance i’ll miss my Zagreb-Split night train. If i understand rightly:if you list a journey on your mobile pass, then from 00:01 that day, that’s one travel day used up, whether or not you actually make it onto the train. Miss the train, lose a travel day, for nothing. So i got to thinking…What if i don’t add that journey AT ALL until the very last moment, when i’m sure of catching the train – or even when i’m actually ON it (internet connection allowing).I already have the couchettes booked; but what if i wait until the last second before actually adding the train to the travel diary? That way i shouldn’t lose a travel day unnecessarily.Or am i missing something important? Thanks in advance for your avuncular advice,Badger

It’s my own fault that I decided to buy last, it’s strange that it allowed me to continue, what options do I have to get to Ven? at 22:20 I'm in Padova

I am not seeing direct trains from venice to milan on aug 4th evening and milan to interlaken ost on aug 7th morning. Please help. I have global pass. Looked in rail Europe.

I’ve bought a pass at this point and understand generally how to use it and the concept of reservations. However, what I’d like to know is when, when I don’t have a reservation, is my seat confirmed/reserved? When I’m on the train? Do I then not make it on if reservations fill up or others with the EURAIL pass beat me to boarding?

So, I was looking to travel Genova to Ventimiglia and used the rail planner app. All trains shown required reservation. I followed link to https://www.eurail.com/en/book-reservations with intention of making a reservation for this route and several trains NOT requiring reservation also appeared e.g. RE 3360 Regional operated byFerrovie dello Stato SpADirectionVENTIMIGLIAWhy do these not appear in planner when "eurail" obviously does know about them. Do they "really" exist?

I am trying to figure out the meaning of the notes in Rail Plan. When I try to search a trip from Antwerp (in Belgium) to Breda (in The Netherlands). It showed the note ‘Supplement included for international travel...’. When I clicked on ‘Read more’, it showed ‘Special Conditions ...’ as on the screen shots below.Does anyone knows what are those notes mean? Is the trip considered as ‘international travel’(from Belgium to Netherlands)? If I take the trip, do I have to pay for the supplement? Any help will be much appreciated!Thank you very much in advance!By the way, I will be using Eurail Globe Pass when I travel there.

Hi, I have 3 days left to my global pass.Tomorrow April 30th, I will be traveling Venice - Rome, May 1st Rome - Milan (on the way I will stop at Florence, Verona),May 2nd Milan - Zurich (via Tirano, Chur Bernia Express)May 4th Zurich - Paris (I already reserved the seats)  so in theory I have 4 days of travel left with 3 days of the pass. All Italy rides needs a seat reservation per Eurail.. So would it be better just to get the Venice - Rome separately without using the global pass? Or what other option would you suggest?

I have booked from Paris to Frankfurt on the Ice 10.52am from Paris Est on May 30th. We now have the opportunity to meet some French friends so want to push the time back. I went in to my DB portal to change the time to 13.51pm on TVG and got the message below. Is there ever a problem getting on the train with updated reservation/ticket? NoteClose dialogueWe do not currently check whether your ticket or seat are still valid on the alternative connection. For more information, please check the current Deutsche Bahn conditions of carriage

Hi, how to book the coolest class in Italian frecciarossa? In obb there is only first class, but on trenitalia you cannot choose interrail

How to drive alone in a three-seater sleeper cabin?Let’s say a train from Warsaw to Munich (I don’t know why it’s so cheap, from Padova to Vienna it’s 500 km but it costs the same) and this train leaves at 7 pm from Warsaw and at 10 am to Munich, if you buy a ticket for yourself with an interrail ticket and Also, for example, tickets for travel to 1 station, is it possible that people will not be able to reserve an entire route and no one will join me?But for some reason the ticket is not available for booking even for one station

Hi, We are a family of 3 wanting to travel on LNER Leeds to London in August, but seat reservations on LNER website and ACP Rail are all showing as ‘not available’. Am I too late? (or too early?!)  Do I NEED a reservation on LNER trains or can we just get on with our pass? Thanks :-)

Hello allI was wondering if someone could help me pleaseI am trying to book a ferry from Helsinki to Travemünde and according to the Eurail website, I can get a 50% discount, however when I use the code is says it is valid on this routeHas anyone else had this problem?Thank you so much for your help in advance

The booking system of the Hungarian Railways (MAV) is driving me crazy. Does anyone have any idea how to fill in the “floor/door” field correctly? I've tried every conceivable variant in German (Erdgeschoss), English (first floor) and even Hungarian (1. emelet) with upper and lower case - without success. Each time the following error message appears: “The floor / door field value must be entered in door / floor format.” If you leave the field blank, you will not get any further. And after a while you have to start the booking process all over again. Any advice appreciated!!!

Hello,I will be travelling this summer with an Interrail pass. A friend will be joining me from Hirtshals to Hamburg, she won’t have a pass. So I need to buy a seat reservation for the ICE between Kolding and Hamburg plus a full ticket from Hirsthals to Hamburg. What is the easiest way to get 2 seats side by side ? I tried DB web site but I did not find how I could buy at the same time a ticket and an additional seat. We will be arriving in Hirtshals with the ferry at 8.00 am. I read that the train station is not really close to the ferry terminal. What do you think the transfer time should be ? We could board the 8.50 train to Aaalborg but I wonder if that’s feasible.Thank you for sharing your experience !

Hi, I need to make reservations for these below 2 rides. But I am not traveling with my laptop. How can I book them over the phone? One of them is tomorrow. Please guide me.

The train timetables on Interrail.eu do not match the SNCF timetables.  We have made reservations on the Interrail site for 5 SNCF journeys.  In all 5 cases the time given on the reservation ticket is one hour later than the time on the actual SNCF timetable even though the train number is the same.  If we turn up at the correct time (i.e. one hour earlier than it says on the ticket) will our reservation be valid? Has anyone else had this problem

We are planning on traveling from Nice to London however there a part of the travel that requires transfer by public transportation from Paris Gare De Lyon with allotted time of 1 hr 10 minutes to Paris Nord  what does that mean and what do we need to do? Is that public transportation included in our fare? Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks a ton for the help In advance!
