Hello Interrailers. Would appreciate any info. on what Interrail discounts (or free on a travel day) are available for ferries/boats for short(ish) river/lake trips. I saw one Community post about Lake Constance, but the links are now outdated and the bsb.de site doesn't seem to have specific info. re. Interrail (that I can find in English). I will be on a GP in July visiting Salzburg, Munich, Black Forest, Metz, Ghent-Oostende, Amsterdam/NL, Magdeburg (Elbe?), Prague and leave from Vienna. If anyone has done any water trips in any of these areas I'd love to know what trips my 2 teens and I could take to connect even just 2 cities (e.g. Lindau-Friedrichshafen on a Munich day trip loop). Thanks in advance for any tips. Happy training :)

Hi!My mom and I would like to plan our interrail trip to the UK with the Global Pass, but before we book everything, we would like to know: If we book a seat reservation (which counts as a travel day from the Global Pass) but then cancel it later (because we changed our minds, got sick or something else), can we still use the same day from the Global Pass to make a new reservation? Or is it used off for good? Thank you in advance!Matilde & Aline

Apologies if this question is silly.  I am learning about the Interrail system before I have my pass and so things may be obvious once I get it. I see people suggest not to put a train into your pass from your trip folder until just before you get on the train.   That is not the sort of person I am.  I don’t like to do things in a rush. When I set off on my journey I will be travelling from my local town to London and then on Eurostar.  There are several trains an hour from my local station:  let’s say 9:15, 9:30 9:45.    No reservations are required.    Suppose I put the 9:30 train onto my pass.   However I arrive early and can get on the 9:15.  Do I have to delete the 9:30 from my pass and replace it with the 9:15 or does this not matter?Peter

Hi everyone, We are planning to purchase the 3 day interrail one country pass for swizerland as we will be most travelling within swiss. However, we are also planning to visit  Liechtenstein from Zurich. So are we able to use the interail one country pass (Swiss) to travel to Liechtenstein? Is this covered? Thanks in advance.

Hello Community,  I've bought several pass reservations for ICN and TGV trains in France thru several channels (interrail.eu reservation service,  sncf hotline, sncb and DB).It was necessary in all cases to specify names and birth dates except for pass reservations ordered at DB Reisezentrum. These reservations are on ticket paper and didn't require personal details. Should I be worried that these tickets from DB are accepted? SNCF hotline said that passenger name registration is required by law for all long distance trains in France. How will I get access to the station and pass the gates with these paper tickets issued by DB without any QR code?

Hello everyone,I am planning a trip to Scandinavia and I would like my first travel day to start in Rennes (Brittany, France) and end in Stockholm. This seems possible thanks to the night train Hamburg-Stockholm.There are different routes to reach Hamburg. The quickest one seems through Paris and Cologne. The good point is that there are nearly hourly Cologne-Hamburg trains so if I get delayed in Paris, I can hope to catch up and be on time in Hamburg. The drawback is the high reservation fee on the Eurostar to Cologne : 32 € (compared to 42 € for a full ticket, checked today!). What would be your advice ? There are alternative routes through Brussels, Mannheim or Karlsruhe. They seem at first glance to take more time. I read about the two Hamburg-Stockholm night trains. Which one have you best experienced ? On the practical point of view, the Snälltåget leaves later, 23h59 (within same travel day I understand ?) so that may be safer. And I can find it on the Snälltåget’s calendar on t

Our itinerary is: 25th may – Paris to Geneva/Basel 29th may – Speiz to florence1st June – Florence to RomeI have following questions and would be grateful if anyone can guide us in booking train tickets as this is our first Europe trip and we are getting overwhelmed with information available on internet..We would be travelling from Paris to Geneva. Which mode of transport - train or bus would be better in terms of cost.? Which pass we should take Euro rail or swiss or any other for travelling cheap. We would using public transport within Paris and will be covering major tourist location with in Paris like louvre museum, Effiel tower etc  In Switzerland, we will be staying in Grindelwald and will cover near by location from there such as - Lauterbrunnen, interlaken, Jungfraujoch and others.   We plan to take train from Speiz to florence. Is there any other better route to reach florence? and whether th

I am traveling to France & Spain in April (Aix to Barcelona and then to Lyon).  Would like to make reservations for the AVE International (the high-speed direct) trains that seem to be run only by Renfe now (when it used to be a France/Spain collaboration).  After much searching & frustration, I have learned that the reservations can only be made at a train station, and that it has to be a train station in Spain??  Can someone provide me with details of what that entails?Do all pass holders have to be in person at the train station to make reservations (there will be four of us)?  I ask because I am wondering if one of the pass holders (who is currently already in Aix) could make the reservations for all of us at the Aix TGV station?  (though clearly this station is in France not Spain, so question 2 below:) Some places it seems to say that reservations can only be made at Spain stations.  But if that’s the case, is it not possible to make a reservation to get from France to Sp

Hi Community. I have asked several questions already and the responses have been extremely helpful. I have a question that may seem basic to those far more EURAIL savvy than me. We have a Global Pass 1st class and will take the train from Paris Gare de Lyon to Mulhouse TGV6705. I have a confirmed seat reservation. My question is about the arrival experience. When I arrive at the station, what do I do? Do I have to pass through a turnstile or do I make my way directly to the train? If I have to pass through a turnstile, how do I manage this as my EURAIL pass is on my phone. Thank you for your assistance in advance. Hopefully I have been clear about my question.

I live in Cornwall Uk and will be traveling to France via the Eurostar from London to Paris. Below is an outline of the intended travel days: Day 1: Cornwall → London → ParisDay 2: Paris → LyonDay 3: Lyon → MontpellierDay 4: Montpellier → AvignonDay 5: Avignon → NiceDay 6: Nice → Paris → London → Cornwall My question essentially is whether I am able to make these multiple connections within my home country (Cornwall → London → Paris and Nice → Paris → London → Cornwall) on the global pass as the inbound/outbound days or would I need to but separate train tickets for the Cornwall → London and London → Cornwall sections?  Thank you in advance!

Hello I am assuming seat reservation not required between Milan and Tirano for global pass holders. Can you please confirm?Thank you

I’ve just been ticket checked on a Railjet between Innsbruck & Kufstein.Sitting in First Class (not Business) with a first class pass. The guard insisted I should have paid a supplement of €15 for any Railjet journey. He said he’d let me off, since it was a short journey.I’m pretty sure he’s wrong, and the supplement only applies in Business Class? Or has something changed recently?

Hi Guys,I like visit Mont St Michel. How should I travel and ensure I have book all tickets for both way? I had check and given the following schedule :Paris Montparnasse 1 Et2 to Villedieu Les Poeles   - this by by train. And seats are able to be book.Transfer by Bus 36871 From Villedieu Les Poeles to Le Mont Michel . My questions is how do i book the bus tickets in advance so that I’m sure of having a seat in the bus? CAn the Europass by use for the bus transfer?

I am thinking of buying a eurail pass.  It will certainly be cheaper than paying for the journeys I have planned through normal booking methods.  However I will want seat reservations on all my journeys (in France and Italy) and I would not want to proceed with the purchase of a Eurail pass if this was not guaranteed,  I am too early to book seats on the actual journeys planned.  However I thought I would test out the system by seeing if it is possible to book up seats on certain journeys but just stopping short of the paying up stage.  It seems, however, that I cannot test out the reservation system until I have paid for a pass.  And I am not prepared to pay for the pass until I have tested the reservation system.  Catch 22!!   Any suggestions how I might get round this problem? Peter

First time users of a Eurail pass as Seniors on a 10 Day out of 2 month pass with first class seating. I have downloaded the RailPlanner app and added my pass to that> We fly into Frankfurt on the morning of 25th April and intentions to jump a train straight to ParisSo few questions, of probably manyDo I add my wifes pass to her phone or can both be on mine,,just wondering as I will need to book seats and unsure whether to book one on each phone or both on one phoneWe are hoping to get a Train around 8.30am from Frankfurt airport and from what I can see it goes via Mannerheim and then we take the express to Paris> it seems that I have to book seats from Mannerheim into Paris and pay the fee. Is the Eurail only site that we can do this or are their other online apps that we can add the passes too ?Thats the first question,,next day we are off to Nice,,so one step at a timeWe dont really need to go to Paris its just that it seems a shorter trip from Frankfurt-Paris-Nice as we are c

Hi everyone!I am wanting to book a seat reservation on a Deutsche Bahn Amsterdam to Berlin on June 5th 2024. I want to save some money and do it directly through their wesbite. Orginally, when I searched the site, I was looking at tickets (that also included reservations) and they were available to purchase, but consdering I have a eurrail pass, I want to use that as my ticket and only purchase the seat reservation.I later found that there is a separate seat reservation search engine, to which I put in my details and was met with the following: As you can see, none of the trains are showing any price info or the option to proceed with a seat reservation. Does anyone know why this is the case? Especially when tickets (bundled with a seat reservation) are available for purchase on the same train? Thanks!

Hi, I traveling to Paris to Bruxelles-CentralCheck the website , able to see the schedule of the from Rail Europe website, telling me I can’t the website unable to provide the bookng. Any advice how do I able to book seats via Euro Star?

I’m trying to travel from Amsterdam to Barcelona on March 13 using my Eurail pass.  So far I plan to use IC trains (without seat reservation) between Amsterdam and Brussels-Midi, then TGV (with seat reservation) between Brussels-Midi and Lyon Part Dieu (with seat reservations).  However, for the last leg, between Lyon and Barcelona, I cannot figure out how to reserve seats ahead of time.  I’ve looked at eurail.com and b-europe.com, and I’ve called Renfe and SNCF.  Renfe tells me that I can only get the seat reservations in person at the train office.  That seems like a bad idea considering our time will be limited.  SNCF told me to call Renfe.  The forums in this community indicate that it’s difficult, but apparently not impossible?  Help!

When a night train has this information (2nd class - IRT 2 classe) it’s because doesnt’t have a place to sleep on the reservation? Thank you!Another question, when I’m looking for the connections in romenia, it appears this (but it’s not possible to make the reservation) or that “Prices unavailable No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.”, what can I do in order to plan my trip in romenia, any advices?

Hi all, trying to book my son and his friend tickets from Paris Gare Du Nord to St Pancras and I am being offered an option of the TGV to Lille, as opposed to a route that takes them directly from Paris to London. Is this an option I can select? How tricky is it to change at Lille to catch the Eurostar? Thanks in advance.

I have been trying to book a seat reservation with a Eurail pass from Domodossola (Italy) to Basel on the direct Eurocity. This train starts in Milan.Eurail says no seat reservation available Rail Europe says need to book at the stationWe need to get to Basel in tome to catch train to Paris and can do this on regional trains without passes but it means an early start from our base at Lake Maggoire (Verbania-Palanza) plus multiple changes.I see there was a post 2 years ago about not being able to reserve this Eurocity but that may now be resolved?Of course it might just be that there are no seats left as  it is early June we need to book.Any suggestions if a reservation is possible and how to get one? Should we just try at a station once we are in Europe?

Hi- We are US citizens and will be traveling with 3 kids this summer. The youngest is 6. We will be going from Berlin to Prague on June 28 and then Prague to Munich on July 2. Do we need the 4 day euro rail pass or can I just book each way with a direct ticket? If so, how would I book those tickets? We will take the train from Berlin to Prague but is it easier to fly from Prague to Munich? That train ride seems a little too long for the kids. Is the Prague airport easy to navigate? Any advice appreciated.
