Hello! My husband and I have a month in France beginning mid April. We have an 8 day Eurail pass and have plotted our trip. Today I began to make the reservations where needed. But….I can’t figure out one segment, so I am looking for advice. We want to travel Caens to Paris early May. The schedule shows trains and requires reservations but I can’t figure out how to do this. Can someone explain?Much appreciated,Leanne & JohnVancouver BC Canada

Last year we travelled from Chambery Challes Les Eaux to Turin which was straight forward and took about 2 hours 40 minutes. Now when I try to plan another journey for later this year I get this crazy journey of 8 hours via Geneva and Brig (or others via Annecy) but none as straightforward as previously.Any thoughts please? When I put in a June date (when I will want to go) it says no tickets but if I try an earlier date in April or today, I get the above. I am hoping that in the winter, the route is not avaialable but come the summer the direct route will be available? Does anyone know anything about this please? Thank you.

Hi, I have already reserved a seat on the 11:04 eurostar from London to Brussels on the 2nd July a few weeks ago and today my friend tried to reserve a seat on the same train. When you try to reserve it now it doesnt come up at all on raileurope and says “Not Available” on the eurostar website. My ticket seems to still be valid though and when I look at the seats the vast majority are still available, looking at other trains that day it seems all the trains that continue to Amsterdam are “Not Available”. Is this a timetable issue or are we going to need to change to the next available train?Thank you for any help.

I want to reserve seats for a few trains, but in the Rail Planner App there stands N/A (I am using the App with German localization, so it might be different for you, but I will provide a screenshot. Screenshot of the Rail Planner App showing a trip with N/A as the value at the Reservation.

On Eurail web site, trying to book 2 reserved seats on Frecciarossad train between Bologna and Firenze.  Looks like I can do this but I see no step to reserve specific seats or have them assigned.   Do I select seats when I board?   Would like to sort this out before I actually pay for them.Is this normal or did I miss a step?

Are subways and buses included in "CONTINUOUS Eurail passes" for transit only within urban centers? In other words, would the passes also work for subways and buses in urban centers?

Hello, I’m planning to go interrailing later on in the year and am planning on using two of my journeys for inbound and outbound travel from the UK (my home country) and just want to check if it is alright!I live in Leeds, so am planning on taking a train from Leeds to Kings Cross and then changing to get the Eurostar from St Pancras to Brussels. Then I’m planning on returning by flying into Luton Airport and taking the train back up to Leeds. My plan is to get a train from Luton Airport to St Pancras and then travel with LNER back up to Leeds. Is all of this ok and does it count as one outbound and one inbound journey? Are all of the trains I have listed included with an interrail pass? Thanks!!

Hi everybody, Going for a trip through Eastern Europe with end destination Istanbul this summer. Including 2 kids. Should it be more safe choosing the paper option? Regarding the countries as Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. If the conductor doesn’t accept mobile tickets or app we have nothing to show, no?  Or are we wrong? When I visit the interrail website i feel a strong push towards mobile passes, but also for Eastern Europe? Anyone with experience, please some advice, Grts

We are traveling to Scandinavia on march 22 and we have to transfer in Hamburg Hbf to S3 (s-bahn). Does anyone know a route for this? Is it an other location where we have to go to get on the S3?

I’ve stored my wife’s pass onto my device but I can’t add her to my planned literary. I tried to make duplicate but it doesn’t work. Do I need to type the whole itinerary again?

If I buy a 6 days in one month Scandinavian pass and my last day of travel is used on travel from Copenhagen to Hirtshals, do I loose the discount on ferry travel to Bergen the next day even though my month of pass validity is not over yet but I used last day of 6 days travel?

I am planning on travelling first class round Europe on a first class Eurail pass. In the first class area on most European rail service, can you see out the window on both sides of the train, or do I sit in a compartment where I can only see out one window on one side of the train?

Hi guys, We are planning to go from Lucerne to Como (11th July). Last week we checked the itinerary for this date and it said that there was multiple trains from Lucerne-Lugano-Como - no reservation needed. But today we checked again and it said there are no trains available for our dates. One alternative option we found is to get the 8:18 train from Lucerne to Lugano, get there at 10:48 and then wait until 13:00 and get a direct Flixbus to Como for 14 EUR - arriving at 13:45. Is there a reason for this (not updated, closed lines, etc.)? Is there a better way to get to Como quicker from Lucerne? Thanks so much!

Is there any way to check whether I can book Eurostar or the TGV for this trip over the Easter weekend? We are coming back midweek so I am sure there will be capacity on those trains. We want to travel on the 30th and due to engineering works there are no trains into Euston so we can’t get to London before 14:30 - is the only way to check to buy the passes? 15% cancellation fee does seem a bit heavy to be able to check and rule this in or out? Thanks

How many trains can I take per travel day? I was thinking about going form Paris to Bruges and in the night to Brussels. Is that possible with only one travel day? Should I reserve with anticipation if I am traveling in May?

I am planning to purchase a Global pass 4 days flexible in a month. If I fly to a country and get a train from A to B on the same day. Does it count as my outbound journey? I prefer to use it as my travel day. I would like to keep my outbound for the second part of my holiday.1 Travel day  Fly Switzerland to London / Get train to Cornwall   Not as outbound?2 Travel day Cornwall to Birmingham            Birmingham to London pay for this 3 Inbound  London to Basel So I have 1 outbound to use. Right? Another holiday in the same month 4 Outbound Basel to Vienna  and pay Vienna to Basel Is it okay to do it like this?Do i have to register all my travel even if i pay for some days? Thanks a lot

We can purchase 3-month Global Passes, but I cannot find any detail on how many days we can travel on those passes, or any other restrictions.  Nor am I able to find a link for the terms of the passes.  Most places we visit we will stay more than one or two days (possibly a couple of weeks in some instances). Can anyone help with detail on these passes?

Thank you for the many who have posted on usage of Eurail Global Pass. I just purchased passes for my family to travel next February. Read that it is better to book on OBB webitse. I bought a “10 days within 2 months” Eurail Global Card. Can I ask that if I book and reserve seats on the OBB website, do I still need to create my trips on the eurail.com Trip Planner please?Of not, how will my Eurail usage be recorded. Would greatly appreciate advice from experience users. Thank you so much in advance. regards, Pauline from Singapore

Hi,We are planning to travel from Geneva to Milan on Sun 21 July 2024 and we can’t find any sensible options.  We had planned to travel over the border between Brig and Domodossola but this appears to be shut for the summer, does anyone know when a rail replacement timetable will be in place and how much of the line will be closed.  I’m concerned about how long it might add to our journey as we’re travelling with two small children. Are any other options recommended? We’ve been looking at Zurich - Milan via Lugano but again can’t find any trains for the Swiss / Italian border crossing.Any advice would be great, every option we look at seems to fail!Cheers,Claire

Hi everyone,I’m trying to make a seat reservation from Valence (France) to Barcelona, but it doesn’t allow me, as it shows in the image below. Can anyone tell me what can I do? Should I go to any Spanish train station and buy it from there? Does the Interrail pass applies, or do I have to pay the whole ticket independently from the Interrail pass?Thank you very much,Lúa

HelloI try to organize our trip in Norway, Sweden and Germany this summer. But I can’t manage to book our night train back from Berlin to Basel around the 18 august. I have the impression that there is work going on and that the night train will no longer operate from August 9. Do you have any tip about this trip ? I also try by the line Berlin-Paris but on the OBB web site there is written that no seats or aything available… Thanks for your help and have a nice evening,Karine

I’ve been on the site multiple times trying to get info on trains/prices/bookings from Zurich to Milan in July.  Is it not possible to get this info 4 months in advance?  Every time I put in a date and time I get the message that there are no trains. If I’m too far in advance of the date, when should I come back to book?

Vielen Dank!#Hello dear community,After the train hotline was unable to help me, I'm asking here.I would like to book seats for a trip with 13 people. We don't have the Interrail passes yet (they will be on sale from Monday), but I'm already looking at the connections. For our tri
