Hi! I am planning to do an Interrail trip for 4 days in May.I saw that seat reservations are optional on some journeys. In these cases, is there any risk that the train will be full and I won't be able to board if I don't have a reserved seat?Thank you for your help!

Hi - another timetable query from me. I’ve been looking at the trains from Salzburg to Vienna on 29th April 2024 on the OBB websute and this message has come up.Construction work - Train cannot runLinz/Donau Hbf <=> Wels HbfDue to construction work some local-trains cannot operate between Linz/Donau Hbf and Wels Hbf/Attnang-Puchheim Bahnhof from 29/04/2024 through 29/06/2024.We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. There seem to be a mix of trains in the search results - Railjets (marked in red)  and some marked WB (in blue). The WB trains stop at Westbahnhof - are these the local trains referred to in the warning message? If so, does this mean the Railjets will run according to the timetable? Many thanks

I am arriving in the evening 10th july in Bari. The next day I take the ferry to Patras. Do I need to put in a travel day on the 11th with the ferry, since I didn't use my interrail pass to get a discount on the ferry? I paid for a cabin without any interrail discount. I will again use a travel day on the 12.th where I arrive in the morning, and travel from Patras to Pireaus. Is that ok? Or does the travel need to be continuous?/Karina

Hello! I have a Global pass. I live in Germany. Am i able to use that pass for travel within gernmany. For example, can i use it to go from Berlin to Hamburg and back again on the same day? many thanks

Hello!  We are flying into Paris and immediately taking a train to Zurich to stay in Switzerland most of our trip, and return back to Paris for our flight back. Does the Eurail (one country,France) travel pass cover the train from Paris to Basel, and on the way back from Basel to Paris? We are getting the Swiss travel pass so im covered in Switzerland. Thanks for your help!

I booked seats from London to Paris and paid for the seat reservation. I would like to change the time we leave.  Do I make this change on the app,or do I need to login to Eurail.com? Is this even possible to do with my Eurail Pass?

From this post https://community.eurail.com/train-connections-reservations-47/how-to-get-reservations-105it mentioned that one can call SNCF rail for seat reservation. In the orange box at the top it says it’s operating hours are 7 days from 08.00 to 20.00 https://www.sncf-voyageurs.com/en/customer-service/contact-us/telephone/ Sorry to be silly but can I ask if this is France time or what?Has anyone been able to make a seat reservation by calling? What’s needed? Any issues? Do we provide credit card numbers over the phone? Do we need to create any SNCF account? Thank you in advance.

Hi I’ve read the important info in this post: https://community.eurail.com/train-connections-reservations-47/how-to-get-reservations-105Train travels within France only  Travel date: May 11, 2024; flight land at 10:20am First train ride needed: CDG airport TGV to Colmar (have purchase 3 eurail passes - 6 days within 1 month)I understand that I can only purchase seat reservation 90 days in advance. so should be to purchase on Feb 11. Questions:On Deutsche Bahn, Trainline  & Rail Planner app, both show 16:52 -19:21 (1 TGV 9874 + 1 TER 96235). Yes I’ve read from the link above that I should not use Rail Planner to plan my trips. However on SNCF Connect app, it shows 2:59pm to 6:21pm (3h22min; TGV 9874 to Strasbourg; then TER 96233 to Colmar)Which schedule is correct? How could TGV 9874 be happening at 16:52/4:52pm (Deutsche Bahn, Trainline & Rail Planner apps) and also at 2:59pm (SNCF Connect app info)I’m guessing the SNCF Connect app is wrong. What are you advice on which apps or

Hi everyone !!I’m leaving for a 1 week interrail in Norway an Sweden (leaving from France) between the 11 and 17 of February (next week).First, if anyone is doing kind of the same trip in the same dates, I’m flexible so we can do some of the travels together !Second, I see that on the interrail app, even if I ask to go north going trough Norway, it always advises me to go through Sweden. Are the transports in Norway really bad / slow or it’s just the app which is just lacking some information ? thank you for your answers and maybe see you ! 🚞

Hi! Does anybody know if the UK is part of the ongoing trial where some countries get more inbound/outbound trips? Does anybody know the specific number of inbound/outbound trips the UK is allowed as of right now?Best regards,Olivia

Can i take the interrail from Venice down to Patras? when i look it up it says it isnt possible, and can i use my ticket on ferries to??

Hello everyone! my name is Joy and I’m from California, USA. I just found this community:) and never traveled by train before. My main question is how does this really work? lol . I built my itinerary from London but since there is not a lot information I was little confused😟 Do I hop on these trains? I assume I need to make reservations? are those extra $$? and I assume I hop off destination #1 explore and hop back to another train for destination #2 and so forth? and what about visas? ahhh, sorry for the questions but I don’t want to hit purchase without knowing what I'm doing.  Thank you all😊

Have a booking for Bernina Express from Tirano to Chur departing at 2:24pm and struggling to find seat reservations on Eurail that would get me to Tirano (from Rome) on time and don’t cost an arm and a leg. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi!  This will be our very first time in Europe. We are trying to plan a couple days prior to our cruise. We are considering  flying into London and staying the night, then hoping over to Paris to quickly see the Eiffel Tower and taking the train from there to Switzerland. We would like to spend Friday & Saturday night there then head to Rome ( I think we need to fly) to board our cruise. After the cruise we planned to take a train to Venice for the day and then fly back to the US from there. We are open to any and all suggestions & tips!I am getting a little confused and nervous about how and when to book the different train rides. At points it seems fairly straightforward but then I really start second guessing and do not want to cause us extra stress and or expense!  Help!! Thank you!!

Hi!I have a one day pass in Switzerland, leaving from Zurich. Which itinerary do you recommend to get the most of it? I need to get back to Zurich the same day. Thanks so much!

We are using Eurostar to travel from Amsterdam to Brussels, and several different TGVs to travel around France on an upcoming trip. How far in advance must strikes be announced? Is there a point where I can breathe a sigh of relief knowing a strike isn’t going to occur during our travel days?

Hello. I’ve never used an interrail pass before and wondered if anyone could offer any advice. We’d like to go for a week/nine days at the end of May, travelling from the UK, hopefully ending somewhere in Italy, before taking a different route home. Is this an okay length of time for a trip of that sort? Does anyone have any recommendations regarding itinerary? All advice gratefully received!!

Hi,Me and my partner planned to travel from Riccione to Frankfurt on 7th of April. It seems that all EC from Milano to Basel are sold out.Is this correct? Do you know smart alternatives?6th april would be suitable tooThanks in advance

Hi, I never travelled with interrail. I live in Angers in France. I would like to visit Spain. I wonder if I can use the interrail pass to travel from Angers to Barcelone, means leaving Angers at around 6am to reach Barcelona at 9pm after 2 or 3 connections in France. Can you help me? Thanks

Hello!  We have purchased 1st Class Eurail Passes for Spain.  My understanding is that this allows you to sit in the first class car of the train.  I’m not sure if there is any other benefit???   I have purchased first class seat reservations, when required, for each train that we’ll be taking.   The seat reservation ticket says Elige Confort.  So, a couple of questions… 1) How will I know what cars of the train are First Class?  2) Are there seat assignments in the First Class car or are we able to sit in any seat of that car?Thank you for any info you can provide.

HiI think this is a simple query 😁about OBB NightJet timetable change.Night Jet ticket as shown below. There are four of us travelling, in 2 x “Sleeper cabin Comfort compartment … including WC”. For the last week or so, I received an email on a daily basis from OBB (with email address Noreply.Reiseinfo-tickets@oebb.at), saying the following. I rely on google translate more than my German (which is none), which tells me a change of schedule.   The link “Jetzt …” is to https://fahrplan.oebb.at/webapp/?SID=O%3DHamburg Hbf%40&ZID=O%3DMünchen Hbf%40&date=22.02.2024&time=20:10&timeSel=1&returnTimeSel=1&journeyProducts=7167&start=1&language=de That link does not help because the date and time are embedded, and the page shows time at and after the time 20:10.   If I click earlier time (I guess that’s what Fruher means), I get:   The above shows that the service that was at 20:10 no longer exists, in other words, NightJet 40491.If I switch the web site to English

Hello. I’m trying to finalise plans and am looking at getting the train from Lucerne to Salzburg on Friday 26th April. I was getting confused by the slightly different options for trains depending on which website I looked at but think that was due to them only presenting options with fast connections. After a lot of searching around I found filters to increase transfer time on Rail Europe and that seems to have brought up the options that I was missing compared with Trainline. The Nightjet part says reservations are recommended but I can’t see how to select this on the Rail Europe site, though I can do so on the Interrail site.I am wondering also if it would be best to put this as two separate journeys on to the app, ie Lucerne - Zurich and Zurich to Salzburg in case I want to change the train time for the first leg. Thank you

Purchased Eurail Spain Flexi Pass for 6 days within 1 month beginning April 5.  Passes are in RailPlanner and shows “Ready for Travel”.  I chose the trains we will use for our days of travel and they show up in My Trip. They all require seat reservations but I don’t know how to actually reserve them. When I click on the details of the trip, it shows the train number and states Seat Reservations Required but how do I actually reserve and purchase them?  If I go to My Pass, it states Add a Journey at the bottom of the page. When I click on that, it shows the same train info that’s in My Trip so how do I actually put that info into My Pass? Also, none of my information is on the Eurail website.  How do I connect the two? I thought I could add the information manually, but the train times are different.Thank you for any help you can provide!
