Solved

I need some help. I have a first class pass for July and August. I am travelling to several countries and when I look at booking seat reservations, a lot are green and state ready to book - no seat reservation required. For the longer trips I would like to reserve a seat to be on the safe side even though it states it isn’t necessary. I have just discovered one train has said prices unavailable - pass holder reservations may be sold out. Does this mean even though we don’t need to book a seat and we are ready to board that there may be no seat available at all? I have been regularly checking so I can book at the earliest time possible. I don’t feel comfortable just winging it.

How do I use the interrail discount for SNAV ferries on their website, where do I find the discount code from the global pass?

We bought four 1st class tickets but have not been able to use them due to all seats in first class being reserved. Is there a way to get a refund as we were not informed that we would need seat reservations on every train for an extra fee?

I have tried to send support ticket 3 times and I keep getting an email stating I don’t have a pass, even though I am logged in with the same number and currently using my pass daily.  I have a confirmation email also and chatbot states they can not find me.  I need help.  We literally had to sleep on the ground with our children due to getting bumped from train for not reserving seats and then all seats got reserved. We just want one of our pass days back that we couldn’t use because of this situation. How can we get help?

Hi, I would like to go from Bucharest to Istanbul. Since the Bosphorus Express night train is no longer serving the route (AFAIK) I decided sleep in Varna and from there continuing on route Varna Sp. > Kamobat / Kamobat > Plovdiv / Plovdiv > Kapikule. For Kapikule > Halkali there is request for reservartion and I struggle to acquire it online. Because in the Rail Planner app I see the info about it: At the ticket office (subject to availability). That scares me cos I don’t like end up in vacum without any move. Cos how can I know that it wont be full already. As I google it; found out the https://ebilet.tcddtasimacilik.gov.tr but that page returning me: “No travel solution found, try again by changing departure and arrival stations/dates”Whatever date I try it’s still the same message. razpisanie.bdz.bg don’t know the connection. As for bileteinternationale.cfrcalatori.ro/ it knows the station (Bucharest > Halkali) but info is “Not available online” Basically I don’t need

Hey! I wonder if anyone can give me a help.A week ago I bought 4 Eurail passes (4 days within 1 month) in 1st class for my family. When I was booking our first train journey from Barcelona to Lyon, I noticed that there is a seat charge to make seat reservation in 1st or 2nd class. As I said, I bought 1st class eurail passes.Do I really need to pay an extra to travel in 1st class?Regards,

Hello,I have seen variations of this question but none quite answer my specific concern. So, perhaps someone can offer some insight.  We have 4 Eurail 2nd class passes and we’re trying to reserve Nice-Marseille on the https://travel.b-europe.com site.  This site is provided on the eurail site as one of the alternate options when booking seat reservations.  The site asks for our eurail ticket class and I promptly provide the correct info, 2nd class passes.  The site then shows us two options for tickets, 2nd class tickets and 1st class tickets.  The first class tickets are actually cheaper (68 Euro v 80 Euro) and if I continue, it will still acknowledge that we have indeed 2nd class passes and have 1st class tickets in our cart.  It even details the discount applied.  So my question is can I buy and use these first class tickets?I read so many answers detailing that since first is more expensive you’ll wind up paying the difference but in this instance 1st class is actually cheaper and I

I am a first time traveler, so I kindly request all veterans to please guide me a bitI will be going for a business work to Denmark. After which I will be travelling to Berlin and Paris for a trip of 7 days. If I purchase a Eurail purchase of Europe section for 7days, will I will be able to use the trains from Aalborg to Berlin, Berlin to Paris without buying individual tickets? Also, will I be able to use trains to travel inside Berlin or travel inside Paris for roaming purpose from one place to another with the same pass?I have another query, Is there any limitation on number of trains/trips I can take in a day using the pass or I can take any number of trains within those 7 days?  Thanks in Advance

HII’m planning to travel from Aigle ( near Montreux) to Milan. The Eurail App says its 3 changes, none of which are fast/ intercity. The Swiss SBB app says there is an intercity from Montreux to Milan or one from Aigle to Brig, then Brig to Milan. Why does the Eurail timetable not show these trains?thanksJon

I’ll put two related questions here. 1) Would you recommend a reservation with a first class pass on Friday July 14 from Interlaken to Zurich and for Saturday July 15 from Zurich - Heidelberg ?Part two - for the Interlaken-Zurich route I see 11AM IC 817 on the 14th with the Eurail site showing $13.44 charge for the two of us to reserve.  The Austrian OBB site is showing no cost, but is allowing me to make a reservation.  Is that correct?  I’ve used that site for previous madatory reservations and paid the fee, but wonder if I’ve done something wrong getting a reservation for no cost?  Below is what It is shows, and I also got to download the PDF ticket.ThanksTomSeat reservation1.Adult,Thomas XXXXNo applicable discount2.Adult,Leita XXXXNo applicable discountInterlaken OstZürich Flughafen1st ClassValid for IC 817 on Fri, 14 July 2023 at 11:00Valid from Friday 14. Hello,In the period that a seat reservation is mandatory for travel on ICE to and from the Netherlands I am not able to make a seat reservation through bahn.de and obb. This seems like a technical fault, since I am able to book a regular ticket including a seat reservation for the same journeys. This problem holds for all ICE services to and from the Netherlands from 17 June to mid August. I am also able to make seat reservations before and after the period that a reservation is mandatory, so it seems like a specific error during the period that seat reservations are mandatory.Hopefully, it is soon possible to make seat reservations only for journeys on ICE to and from Amsterdam this summer.Thank you in advance,

Hi allBooking some routes as above - it’s simple to book reservations (even when not required), but on any of these journeys, is there a way to choose seats (either prior to booking reservation or after)? Travelling as a family of four, so keen to try and book tables or at least together.I saw something on the OBB site detailing seat selection when booking on the app, but perhaps that’s not available for, for example, Vienna to Budapest? Can’t find it on the app when booking.Any advice appreciated, thanks.

I will be taking the Eurostar from London to Amsterdam but I am unsure if my pass will include my journey to London.  I will be travelling from Nottingham to London and then will be getting the Eurostar from London. Both of these journeys will be on the same day but I am confused as to whether it is only the Eurostar which I will be able to take on my outbound day or if any travel in the uk (my country of residence) is included on that day.  Thanks,Harry :)

I'm trying to book a direct train from Rome to Milan on the 15th of august, and yet it says that there is no direct service for that day. yet when I change the date to the week before or the week after the 15th the direct train is available. I'm wondering is the train down for that week, or is timetable not out yet, or if there is something I'm missing so that I can book the direct train. Thank you

Hi,We have seat reservations on a train from Odense to Copenhagen. This trip will be part of a travel day that will end in Stockholm. Now we have changed our travel plan and will stay in Malmö a few days before continuing to Stockholm. We will therefore not use our interrail pass for the short trip between Odense and Malmö. My question is: Could we still use our seat reservations on the Odense - Copenhagen leg? Or are the seat reservations only valid during a travel day in combination with the interrail pass?

Hi allAfter some advice. I purchased my eurail pass back in December. I read that they needed to activate it at the time of purchase (this wasn’t an option as my partner did not have his new passport yet), or at the station before our first journey. My mobile pass is prompting me to ‘activate pass’, so I am a little confused with what it says re activation on the website.I have added two journeys to our trip, but have not received a QR code as yet for our journeys. Is this because our passes have not been activated? I am so confused the more I read. I’d love some help.Kind regards Danielle

I have a eurail global pass Could anyone kindly advise me is there another way to book this train (Zürich HB to LESCE Bled or Ljubljana on 15 July 2022) without making international calls? I live in Hong Kong and it can be quite expensive to call a number in Switzerland

Can anyone suggest a route between Munich and Buchs SG that the Interrail pass is valid for please?

Hey guys, iam sitting in my train, it is to late and i dont get my Connection where i needed to buy a seat Reservation. It seems i will arrive my endstation 45 Minutes to late, so not the 60 minutes to get a refund. Can i still get my money back for the seat Reservation i cant use?

I am traveling to cappadocia this summer with my girlfriendI wonder if anyone has experience with the route Ankara Kayseri, is it worth traveling by train or is the bus a better alternative, since the bus is 2 times fasterIn our case, we wanted to take the train that leaves Ankara at 11:20 and arrives in Kayseri at 19:01

Hello, I see this topic has been debated before, but reading through the forum I don’t find a definitive answer. So here is the question: can I use two inbound trips or two outbound trips from my country of residence, or does it have to necessarily be one inbound and one outbound? The Interrail website/rules state that it should be one inbound and one outbound. The Eurail app doesn’t really seem to care, as long as no more than two days are used. But I never tried. The answers to previous similar questions on this forum all say that it “should” be ok to do two inbounds or two outbounds, but I don’t find a solid it “IS” ok to do so.Does anyone know for sure? I don’t want to be in the position of having the app reject my travel plan when I’m about to board a train.Thank you in advance for your input.

We are set to come down into Tirano on the Bernina Express (from Chur) in August, but need to get to Milan from there.  I know there is a regional train, and that we can’t buy our tickets ahead of time.  Is there a place to find the Summer 2023 schedule for this train line?
