Solved

Hi all, I have a 3 month global pass and used my outbound travel to start this journey.I’m coming back to France and probably using my inbound day end of this month.I’d like to then travel again in june and take a brussels to london eurostar.I have read here and there that the app detects that you enter your COR (country of residence) so I’m wondering if my plan will work or not. It would be quite a pity i guess if it were the case. Thanks in advance for your helpful advice!

Dear All, Thank you for taking the time to read this email! I’m from Singapore, and l will be solo travelling to Europe for the first time this June. I am keen to travel by train and take in the scenery, and visit as many cities as I can! I have quite a few long train routes planned, and so I was wondering if I should book individual tickets, or get am EU Rail pass! My itinerary as planned:10 June: Fly in from Singapore to Amsterdam 13 June: Leave Amsterdam for Berlin (Train)18 June: Leave Berlin for Florence (Train). The Route is Berlin - Munich - Bolonga - Florence. Will be a full day train journey, to reach Florence on 18 night. 23 June: Leave Florence for Rome (Train)28 June: Leave Rome for London (flight)6 July: Leave London for Paris (train)12 July: Leave Paris for Amsterdam (train)14 July: Fly from Amsterdam back to Singapore  Based on the EU Rail Planner, they suggest the Global Pass - 7 days within 1 month. I have also considered buying individual tickets on Trainline. Based o

We have our passes and we are trying to book seats from Paris to Lucerne.  We can book seats from Paris to Basel but there is not an option to purchase seats from Basel to Lucerne.  I know we change trains in Basel but how do we purchase seats on the Basel to Lucerne segment?  Appreciate your help.

Hello, I am planning a trip to Sweden this summer. For that i intend to buy a global pass with 5 travel days within one month. The interrail website states that it is not possible to take a nighttrain on the last day that the pass is valid. However, if my pass is valid for example from the first of July to the first of August, but the 23rd of July is already my fifth travel day, is it then allowed to take a nighttrain from 23rd to 24th of July and basically drive on 6 days? Theoratically the pass is still valid on that day but Im out of travel days…Thanks for helping

I have the 3 month global Eurail pass, I have read that it includes some ferries, does anyone know how I find out with ferries it includes/excludes and how I apply it to get discounts on the ferries or if I need to be the ferry eurail pass as well?

How can I change my seat on a train reservation? Because me and my girlfriend have booked some tickets but now we are scattered around the train in all the trips.

Hi, New to the forum, but have ‘done’ a couple of Interrail trips in the past couple of years. Am going to be travelling from Copenhagen to Hamburg and then onto Nuremberg on 26 August. As I understand, seat reservations are compulsory on the direct trains between Copenhagen and Hamburg in the summer months, and these are extremely popular with demand outstripping supply, so I’m keen to book the seats asap. I note seat reservations aren’t yet available on the DSB website. Bahn.de, however, is showing services for that day and is suggesting a change at Fredericia. The Interrail website says the same thing, adding that reservations are optional.  Is this correct? I note looking at dates before 26 August trains are terminating at Hamburg Altona, so I’m wondering if there are engineering works that day that mean the direct trains cannot run? Thanks in advance for your help.

It‘s very expensive to make a reservation from Paris to London. Can I avoid this?

I am trying to reserve a seat on a train from Derby to St Pancras. Using the Eurorail app it says a reservation is not necessary but I want to reserve a seat as I know the train can get very busy. My Global pass is for 1st class travel. How do I do it?! Thank you

How to book first class and sleeper trains on the app

Hello,I live in the UK but in order to get the most out of my pass, I’m wondering whether to just take the Eurostar to Belgium with an ordinary Eurostar ticket (ie not the pass) and then start using the pass in Belgium. I’m also not sure that I want to do a round trip which returns to my country of residence - can I do this or does my final travel day have to be back to my country of residence? Thanks

Hi, I received an email 2 days ago that my train 9552 TGV, Mannheim to Paris was cancelled because of the strike. Is there any chance of it being reinstated since the strike was called off, or should I find a new train?Thank you Steve Trizis

Hi, I plan to travel from Thessaloniki to Budapest with kid. As i can’t find out which is the best and most secure route to travel from Greece to Hungary.. It would be great to travel by a night train!….i would like to read your advices or propositions. thanks

We are flying into Lamezia (SUF) in September and are going on to Messina by train. We do have a Rail Pass.  I know we have to to take a bus from the airport to Lamezia Centrale and then board the train to Messina. I am confused about what happens when we get Villa San Giovanni. Does the train then go on the ferry and we end up in Messina Centrale or does the train journey end in Villa San Giovanni and we have to make our way to the ferry port and pay to board the ferry and get off in Messina Maritima? Can someone please clear up my confusion over this matter.

Hello,Need an advice - I want to travel from London to Nice and then from Nice to Paris, which pass should I buy? Do I need reservation on top of the pass? Any additional information will be helpful.

Here is my question:Family of 5 with 2 seniors and three young adults 16, 23, 25. June 4, 2023: desire to travel via train from Geneva, Switzerland to Stresa, Italy From what I can tell, the cost for a second class ticket is 442.00 USD for all on the direct train, 2nd class fully flexible. We can leave around 12:00 at the earliest but prefer to get into Stresa Italy the mid-late afternoon to get to the hotel, so avoiding the reservation cost is possible if not excessive time is added. June 6: Stresa, Italy to Verona, Italy somewhere between 107.00 to 158 USD total for Ordinare June 8: Verona, Italy to Trieste, Italy 131.45 USD Ordinare June 10: Possible travel to Slovenia but can take the flix bus for reasonable and shorter. Do you have a recommendation on what type of pass I should use (Eurail Single country Italy, Eurail Global, or individual tickets). If the website such as ‘the train line’ say that there are two seats left, does that mean we will not be able to take that train with

Hi there, do I need paper copy tickets for my reservations for each train I take using my Eurail Pass. Also, if we need hard copies, how long would they take to ship to Australia? Alternatively I can have them shipped to a friend in Holland, how long would this take?

As the german trains will nationwide be cancelled from 14th to 16th May, DB has asked Travellers to -if possible- do Their travels from 11th to 14th May before the strike hits and has therefore Made it possible to take any similar train on These days if one has booked a Ticket that is affected from the strike. Is the Interrail Ticket also valid on the days beforehand for The same route i booked for May 15th? Does anybody have experience with this or a similar Situation? Big thanks XXX

Hi,I really would like to travel from Amsterdam to Nice to see my family but don’t want to take the plane, so the Interrail-card would be perfect for me. I only have some questions regarding the conditions of what the best thing is that I can do. My trip will be on the 11th of June and would consider:Thalys from Amsterdam to Paris, then from Paris Nord to Paris Gare de Lyon RER D and then TGV from Paris Gare de Lyon to Nice Ville.  When I’m buying the Interrail France Pass for 3 days, I can travel through France for 3 days. I know I have to reserve the TGV (and the Thalys) and pay extra for this but my question is the following:Can I use the card already in Amsterdam since I’m travelling with the Thalys or does the card only hold in France and not if I’m travelling from another country to France with a France train? And another question you might help me with is: Is this the smartest option to take? I just want to visit family in Nice and am living in Amsterdam. What should I do? Thank

can I use the Interrail Global Pass 1 month across months? E.g. from the 15th to the 15th of the next month?

Hello,I have a question. My boyfriend and I are going to travel to Italy in July. I have a ticket for Italy only and because I live near the Italian border and he has a ticket for more countries because he is from Germany. Is it possible to make seating reservations for both of us even though we have different passes? We want to sit next to each other. His journey begins in Munich and mine in Brenner. Thanks in advance
