Solved

We’re travelling from the UK to Italy this year. We used to be able to select our seats with Senior Global Passes but have now discovered this has all changed. We can’t use SNCF or Trenitalia to do this anymore. Why is this? Does anyone have any suggestions how to get round this? Thanks

I am trying to book a senior ticket for use in June, after i turn 60, however the booking process will not accept a June dob. Can anyone help?

Hello! I’m traveling through Europe from April to May, and I’m getting ready way ahead, and working on a schedule. My question is simple: I’ve understood how the global pass works and I already have the trips selected, I’m just about to reserve the seats.  My question is… How do train times work according to time zones? For example, on Sat. 22nd April, I will travel from London to Verona. One of the trains I’m reserving leaves London at 07:55h and arrives to Paris at 11:27h.  The thing is that Paris (and mostly the rest of Europe) timezone is +1 hour than the UK.  How does this affect my train times?  If the app says the train leaves at 07:55h, does it really leave at 06:55h (UK time) and I must do all the movements for security control and pasaport checks an hour before the schedule I’ve planned? I hope you can help me!

Good day everyone.I just want to ask regarding the Eurail pass.My question is this:-Once we have bought the Eurail pass, do we have to reserve seats before boarding the trains from one country to another? For example, we will be traveling from the following places:        Milan → Rome        Rome→ Florence → Pisa → Rome        Rome → Milan        Milan → Venice → Milan        Amsterdam →  Brussels → Amsterdam       Amsterdam → London       London → ParisThank you so much everyone in advance for your responses.

Hey there!Like others here, have beens stuggling with seat reservations throughout my travels and ended up having to book flights. Also that we have ended up on separate trains hours apart despite many spare seats on trains.Just reaching out to see if anyone can assist with any tips for getting from Amsterdam to London on Jan 3 for 2 people on class 2 global passes. Have been trying for months and looking like I might need to do a bus!Have tried the b.europe website and going into ticket office at train station. Many thanks for any tips or help

Hi, I boarded a Belgium IC train today with my eurail pass to travel one stop (4 mins). We boarded a minute before the departure time. After boarding a very angry lady came up to us and told us we couldn’t board the train when it’s departing. The doors were open and it took a minute before the doors shut when we got on. She said we’d be fined for this, but couldn’t explain when we can and can’t board when the doors are open. Does anyone know what the rules are here? Additionally, she said I couldn’t travel with my Eurail youth pass on Belgium trains. I explained I was 27 years old, and she said that doesn’t apply in Belgium and only 25 years old or younger are allowed to use the eurail youth pass in Belgium. She told me I could be fined for that, and that I need to contact Eurail to get an explanation why they sell these for Belgium trains. Can anyone here provide clarity on why eurail sells youth passes advertising they’re for 27 and under if they’re not allowed in Belgium? Thanks,\-

Why can I not find the Paris (Austerlitz) to Nice night train to make reservations? It’s not available through the Rail Planner app, it’s not available in the Eurail reservation system and it doesn’t even come up when I try through the French SNCF website. Yet SNCF has a whole page devoted to the Paris to Nice night train, with train times and train numbers. This would appear to be a valid route -- why can I not find it and book it?(My plan is to travel only using night trains and this is supposed to be the very first leg of my journey. Frankly, this is not a great start if I can’t even book the first day of my trip.) Thank you.

Hi . Can you book Seat Reservation for Eurostar at Ticket offices in UK Main stations e.g Derby or Leicester?

Hi, I’m hoping to do the following route in June/July, through:Lisbon Madrid Barcelona Nice Florence Rome  NaplesLooking online, I can’t find train links between them all - I’m open to stop through other places along the way, these are just the ones I definitely want to stop by but I can't find any out of Lisbon, or from Spain into Italy. Could anyone suggest where I would find out what route/ trains are possible, as the ones on the rail map don’t then appear in the websites route searcher, and when I should book them? Is it that I need to buy the interrailing ticket and download the app first, or am I looking too early?Thank you!

We are trying to book Eurostar Reservations on the Eurail Website. It asks for the money in dollars which is fine. But will not accept UK credit Cards. Anyone got a solution?

Good morning,Is it right that when you make a seat reservation for example Rotterdam - Barcelona that you have to wait voor 2 days if your request is accepted? I read this in a travel blog. Or do you know immediatly if you have the seats you want? Because after 2 days, all the other option are probably full.I hope anyone will let me know.

Hallo! I have the Interrail app on my phone and on my iPad. And I accessed the rail planner at interrail.eu. I searched for trains from Oslo S to Stockholm Central on June 8. Result: one set of train schedules on my phone and at interrail.eu, another on my iPad. Phone and iPad are online, as is my MacBook. My iPad Planner shows a train at 10:10 and one at 14:10, both of which require one change of trains. My phone and the internet say I can either leave Oslo at 7:24 (4 changes!) or at 14:36 (3 changes). Has anyone had this problem? Can anyone explain to me what is going on? Thanks

Hello, I am Spanish student and I have been awarned with the Interrail scholarship, where it says to me that I have 7 days within 1 month, which I believe I can only use trains 7 days, but in the e-mail says “You can travel for a period of minimum 1 day and up to 30 days between the 1 March 2023 - 29 February 2024”, so I´m a bit confussed. If anyone can help me I will be very pleased .)

Greetings fellow adventurers. I recently joined this group in the hope of connecting with fellow enthusiasts and to ask/answer questions related to European travel.I am looking for advice on the best way to get from Bucharest to Brasov.I am looking to travel from Edinburgh to Bucharest in October 2023. Obviously, a trip to Romania in October would not be complete without a trip to Brasov to see Dracula’s Castle (Castelul Bran).Would it be worth while purchasing an Interrail ticket to travel from Bucharest to Brasov and return on the same day or would it be cheaper for me to just purchase a train ticket on the day? Also, how frequent are the trains from Bucharest to Brasov?Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Liam

Hi everyone, I’m new here :) I am planning a trip in June in Denmark / Sweden / Norway starting from Brussels.I kind of get stuck to find a good way to go from north Norway to the ouest without passing via Oslo? Is it doable ?In the planner, I don’t find a lot of connection in Norway. Anyone has tips on routes for this itinerary? Are all train travel in Norway included in the pass? So far i was thinking to do:Brussels - Copenhague (via Hamburg)Copenhague - StockholmStockholm - NarvikThen would like to stop at Bodo, Trondheim, Bergen, ….Then for the way back home form Oslo to  Brussels  (via Goteborg and Copenhague). Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm getting an error message when trying to make a train reservation. It says "Not enough free reservations left for some travellers". What is this??!!

Quiero viajar a Italia.Se puede usar el Global Pass en su territorio para transportes locales?

Hi all, I searched the timetable for London St Pancras to Amsterdam Centraal, 8:55am, 29/4/2023.  The whole trip includes 3 stops, I paid to reserve 2 seats on St Pancras to Bruxelles Midi, that was highlighted orange, with a cost, and received 2 emailed eTickets from Eurostar.  The legs from Bruxelles Midi to Breda, then Breda to Amsterdam Centraal (Thalys) were highlighted green, no reservation required, free to board.  Does that mean we will get a seat on the Thalys train from Bruxelles to Amsterdam, just by referencing our Global Pass number ? Thanks very much for your help, the Eurail site lacks some linking information in this area.

Hi, although I suspect I know the answer, I’m looking for confirmation really. I bought a 2-month Global Pass on 11 May this year. My understanding is that I have to activate it within 11 months of purchase. So if I want to use the full 2 months’ travel, the latest I can activate the Pass is 10 April next year, is that correct? And I can then use the full 2 months until an end date of 10 June?

To go from Zurich to Venice, Trenitalia is included un the Eurailpass?

Is there a way to group 6 people traveling together for multiple bookings across Europe with different surnames, so everyone books exactly the same trains. My son is part of a group, travelling after A Levels with friends and we want to keep the logistics of booking as simple as possible so no trains times become confused. They are all using youth tickets, 15 days over 2 months TIA TJ

Hi everybody,I am currently staying in Zagreb and I am leaving in two days (17-1-2023). I need to get to Istanbul by the end of the month due to a flight I have the on the first of February from Istanbul airport. I was planning to travel there through either Belgrade or Sarajevo and then Sofia. But this morning I found out that it isn’t possible to go to Sofia through Belgrade or Sarajevo. I found an alternative route through Budapest, Bucharest, Sofia and then Istanbul (if it’s possible/practicable I could skip Sofia and go to Istanbul directly from Bucharest). But here some problems emerge:firstly I only have three traveling days left, and I don't think that is enough to cover the entire journey. secondly I know how to travel from Zagreb to Bucharest. But not the rail planner app doesn’t show any trains from Bucharest to Sofia (in fact Sofia train stations don’t appear at all) or Istanbul.I am planning to stay a few nights in Budapest. Hopefully I can figure a way out to get to Istan
