Solved

Hey everybody!I am currently planning my first interrail-adventure.The Plan: Starting off in germany I intend to travel to Bari and take the ferry to Patras from there. After some days in Athina I want to travel up to Thessaloniki and beyond to start my Balkan Tour. However, since there is no international trains running (atleast until next year) I need to cross the border in another way. I am trying to spend the fewest money possible. I have seen that theoretically there should be a train from thessaloniki to Alexandroupoli or Ormenio. From Ormenio I would try to cross the border to slivengrad and take a train to sofia from there. Does anyone have Advice on the best ways to cross the border there? Is there perhaps a crossborder bus? Can one walk? Just hitchhike? Or is another border crossing easier? Afterwards my plan is to travel to the Black sea, then to Bucuresti, Brasov, Beograd and Budapest. Any other general advice on this is highly appreciated :)

Hi! We are trying to reserve seats in May from Prague to Munich and are seeing that resverving seats is optional however are being given this message additionally: “No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.” Does this mean the train is sold out? We are quite confused. Is there another way we could still reserve seats or will we be okay without a reservation?

How do I add tickets/seat reservations made by my husband to my account

I started a trip on my rail planner app and connected our passes. Our dates have changed so I started a new trip with the correct dates however my passes are not connected. How do I connect my mobile passes to my new trip and delete the old trip from my app please?thanks in advance.Gip

I’m travelling from Brussels to Berlin in June. The Brussels to Frankfurt leg is bookable now, but the Frankfurt to Berlin leg isn’t bookable until 60 days prior to departure. Can I book the first leg now and come back later to reserve the second leg?

I'm planning a night train journey soon and have a question regarding the Interrail mobile app's behavior. I'm hoping some experienced travelers can help me out!My journey details are: Departure from Budapest-Keleti (19:10 on July 8th) and arrival at Dresden Hbf (05:53 on July 9th).From what I understood, for direct overnight trains, only one day should be marked as a travel day. However, the mobile app has marked both July 8th AND July 9th as travel days for this specific journey.I've attached two screenshots.  The first one shows the full journey preview, and the second highlights a potential change point at Břeclav (though the train number seems to continue as EN 40476).Is this normal behavior? Has anyone experienced something similar or knows why the app might do this? Do I really need to use two travel days, or could this be an app glitch? I plan to contact Interrail support, but wanted to get some community insights first. Thanks in advance for your help!

GrazieValeria

I’m traveling from Geneva to Bern on May 11, 2026 using my Global Eurail Pass. I would like to take the scenic route on the Golden Pass Express from Montreux to Spiez. Is the Global Eurail Pass still valid on all Golden Pass Express routes during 2026? Are seat reservations required or optional? Is there a chance that the train will be full if I do not reserve a seat? When I query a route from Montreux to Spiez via Zweisimmen, the Panoramic Express portions of the trip all note “Seat recommended.” Presumably this means seat reservations are optional. There is also a note that indicates that “Reservation fees vary based on the route,” but I’m not sure what this means. Any clarification would be appreciated.

I would like to take a One-Country pass for France but I start my journey from Lausanne and come back to Lausanne (Switzerland). I cannot find out if the one country pass is available from Lausanne.

Hi allLooking at reserving a 2nd class couchette on this service for four people.   On the sncf booking site it appears I can still get a private space (Espace Privatif), but here I can’t tell if one of the above prices is for a private couchette. Any ideas? If not, do we know what the price difference is?Many thanksPaul

how do I activate my pass on the first day of travel? Do I just board the train and what do I have to show that I have the pass? I am entering 2 travelers on the pass, do we each get a pass or is one pass good for both

Hello there,We are planning on travelling from Brussels to Salzburg on the NJ469 June 1st. When we were planning our trip last week, we were able to book onto the June 1st service. However this weekend, we were going to sort out all out seat reservations and accomodation and a key part of our trip (this night train) we are unable to reserve our seats.Looking online there is extensive maintenance works on the lines and many of the services prior are also showing un-reservable. With June 3rd being the first train in a while where you can actually book again. Just wondering if anyone has any information on the confidence on this service becoming available again (as it appeared last week)? and when would OBB likely provide confirmation of this service?I have set up an alert through the OBB website, but given we have booked certain trains, it would be good to know sooner rather than later regarding this service.Thank you in advance

Hello!I am trying to buy Minicabin reservations from Vienna to Rome on the 01/04 Nightjet on OBB’s website, but I am getting an error:“currently not available: Due to construction work or missing timetable information, it is currently not possible to book a reservation for this train. It is not yet possible to predict when the information will be available. Please check regularly to see whether your connection can already be reserved.”I’ve checked 10 days ago and everything was fine: now, there are no dates available until June or July and I’m wondering which alternative can work, because it doesn’t seem something related to lack of availability. It’s my first interrail and I’m travelling with my 12 yo daughter, I definitely need to be in Rome on the 03/04 morning the latest, because we have our flight from there to Cagliari on that day.I know I’ve waited too much for buying reservations, but we had some issues to solve…Hope you can give us some advice, thank you so much!

Hello,I’m not a newbie to European travel, having used the paper pass ages ago without problem, but now I’m concerned and confused about the digital disconnect between reserving seats and the pass activation and ticket QR code generation on the Rail Planner app. We have flights and hotels and trains picked and planned, I have seat reservations for our group of 4 for trains in Germany, Switzerland, and Italy (Amsterdam to Florence).  All of us have 10-days-in-15 days passes for the trip, and I’ve planned out the big connections so I could reserve seats.  Only the Switzerland to Italy train actually required a reservation.  Here’s where I get confused: if there are limited seats for Eurail pass holders on trains that require reservations, and the pass and reservations are completely disconnected, could a train hypothetically “sell out” and deny us the ability to activate and select that train for boarding with the pass, even though we have reservations for it?  Does that mean I should ac

The Interrail website shows reservation fee indications. Before I purchase a pass, I want to check the precise cost of reservations on specific Eurostar trains (I assume they are more expensive on busier trains). But to do that I need to book a journey, and to book a journey I need to add a traveller, for which I need a Pass number. Is it possible to check the price of specific seat reservations before buying a pass?

I’ve been planning my 6 week travel in Europe using Eurail’s trip planner. Now when I try to Log In, I get an error message saying “BAD Request” then Bad RequestYour browser sent a request that this server could not understand.Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. please help, PLEASE 🙏

I am traveling in Norway and would like to have a day where we hop off and visit areas and then hop back on. Do I make reservations for each leg?

HelloWe are a British family living in Canada and have a trip planned for April 2026. 2 adults, 1 child and 1 teen, but picking up my other teenager halfway through. We have used interrail passes before and are quite comfortable with most aspects but….I’m not sure if it is worth it for this trip.Land Paris.Train Paris to Maastricht (this is the bit that I am struggling to work out how to book without the pass)Train Maastrict to The Hague (now we will be 5 people), maybe a day trip to Amsterdam in there.Train The Hague to YpresTrain Ypres to Paris to leave So it would be a 4 day pass (or should we make it 5 days and include the daytrip to Amsterdam)? Or each train directly. Happy to firm on timings. Thanks so much for any suggestions.Jen

In planning our upcoming trip through Europe, we booked Eurail seat reservations for our intended routes. I know those seat reservations are non-refundable. Now we want to change routes. Can we change those seat reservations without losing money?

I am planning to take the Euro Rail Pass  Heidelberg to Paris (2 days) - Brussels (1 Day) - Amsterdam (1 day) - Frankfurt airport Is this good enough or i drop Brussels and just do Paris and Amsterdam

HI, I need to know what kind of Eurail Pass is the best for me. I`ll travel  through:Netherlands, Belgium, Swiss and Italy during 15 days. I want to visit around 11 cities. Some of them from Bruxelles, Bern or Milan. My question is about the destinations, if I go and back from Bern to Lucern in one day, how many destinations will be? 1 or 2?Thank for your help.

Is it possible to travel from Basel, Switzerland to Wilderswil, Switzerland using my First Class Global Pass?

Hello everyone!I have a question regarding trains. Is it possible to take a train different to the one I put in the Rail Planner (It does not need seat reservation) ?I am considering taking day trips when I’ll be travelling, and I wanted to know whether I exclusively have to take the ones I associated to the pass. thanks in advance
