I am looking to book a train from Tirano to Firenze (Florence) on an Interrail Pass but the results all send you back north and take 22 hours rather than via Milan - what am I doing wrong?

Hi all,I’m a German student residing in the UK on a tier 4 student visa. Over Christmas, I want to travel to Germany (and some other countries) using an Interrail Global Pass. When booking the ticket, the form asked for my country of residence. My residence country is the UK, yet, I read in the T&C that I would need to prove my residence at some point. As an EU citizen, I only have digital proof, an e-visa, to prove my residence in the UK. I also have an official document from the German authorities confirming my de-registration from my old residence and indicating my new residence in the UK. However, I don’t have physical proof from the UK authorities of my residence. In related threads, people suggested setting the country of residence to the country of citizenship (in my case Germany) instead. However, I want the one outbound and one inbound journey to apply to my actual country of residence, i.e., the UK.Has anyone dealt with a similar issue and found a solution? Thanks!

Hello if I try to plan a  TRIP FROM PATRAS TO ATHENS the planner doesn’t give any possibilities. I says to ‘cut up’ the journey bt that doesnt work neither. who can help me finding the schedules for the trip from Patras to Athens with the planner of Interrail??? Thanks

Dear fellow travelers,As a student from Stuttgart, I'm excited to be embarking on my first backpacking adventure using a Eurail Pass. However, I could use some help with a bit of confusion about the reservation process for the Bernina Express.I've added Chur to Tirano on my pass, and the Eurail website shows that I'm ready to board and can buy a seat reservation if I like, but it's not required. On the other hand, the Bernina Express website states that a seat reservation and public transport ticket are necessary for a fee, which can be purchased up to two months before the travel date. The tickets are not linked to the seat reservation and can be used independently. Now, here's where it gets tricky. Reservations for the day are completely booked, and I'm not sure whether to try and book a reservation or enjoy the journey without one. I've attached pictures of the Eurail and Bernina Express websites for your reference. As seasoned travelers, I'm hoping you can share your experiences and

I have purchased Eurail passes for our December trip, and we plan to take the Bernina Express from Tirano on December 4th.  I have checked on the Bernina Express website many times over the past 3 or so months, and I can’t find a way to make a reservation for a date past October 27.  Is there a schedule as to when I would be able to book a reservation, or am I doing something wrong?  I appreciate any guidance.

Hi all! Very specific question on a track some of you may have experience with: Bruxelles (Nord) to Köln Hbf. It says a supplement is required, but when I go to the supplement information page of Interrail, this trainroute is not listed as one which requires a supplement. Any advice? And for those who have been on this route: Is it possible to buy the supplement ticket on the train? Thanks in advance!

Can one Login to the Eurail Planner App?If so, how? If not, why?Note: The ‘answer’ given elsewhere just says that the app does not ‘sync’.  It does not state explicitly whether one can log into the app or not. Thanks,Paul

We’re planning a trip from UK to reach the Arctic circle via Eurostar to Brussels then cologne and onto Copenhagen.then sleeper from Stockholm to Narvik.back down through Norway !anything we should look out for ?

When The Eurail pass directs you to a Lner website, it asks for a reference number to reserve seats. What number do you put?

Hi :)we want to book a sleeping compartment for 3 persons mixed gender (family). If we book a woman’s compartment with 3 beds will it be fine for the train company or is it not allowed? It’s only us in the compartment so it doesn’t matter?

There is no proposition of reservation except through Barcelona to go from San Sebastain/Donostia to Bordeaux

Hello, I am traveling by train in the Balkans with a 15-day pass valid in all countries. It expires in early December and I still have days left to travel. I am looking to travel from Belgrade (Serbia) to Thessaloniki (Greece) by train. This train exists in real life but not in the Interrail planner. Can I add it manually? And do I need to reserve a seat on board? Or is activating my travel day sufficient?Thank you for your help!

Hi - I am not quite sure of the night train sleeping berths - I understand about the couchettes v the sleepers - but there are 3 of us travelling and would like to not share with others in the cabin.when I look at the OBB web site to look at booking through there, it only says that you can book a sleeper, but you may have people in it.  But then also says “book the whole compartment” but doesnt say how. When i Iook at booking through Eurail reservations it says 3 x IRT sleep.single(shower.comp) - but I cant  find any explanation of what that exactly is.  When I refer back to the OBB website, I am assuming that is 3 berths in a sleeper - but how do you book a private sleeper? Thank you for your advice.

I have a 7 day/month mobile pass.  Once we booked the 1st day (QR code) we tried to add the next day’s trip but the App won’t let us.  We can input the journey but can’t get the QR code to reserve the trains.  Haven’t tried the 3rd day.  What’s the problem?  Need answer ASAP. Thanks, mgg

Genève-Cornavin to Interlaken Ost on Oct 29 with a 1st Class Eurail Pass. Is a seat reservation required on this route via Bern? Also wondering if there’s any advantage to reserving on SBB InterCity trains

Lyon → Geneva (Oct 28)Lyon Part-Dieu to Genève-Cornavin on Oct 28 with a 1st Class Eurail. Is it TGV Lyria that needs a reservation, or TER regional option with no reservation. Late morning or early afternoon travel.

My friend and I are planning to carry 28 inch suitcase for Spain trip. We book Eurailpass 2nd class. We will take Iryo and Renfe. Do we allowed to carry it or we have to pay extra luggage?

Dear All Community member,I have plan to visit Interlaken and Zermatt next December (exact date on December 24th, and December 25th) each trip take from Basel. I have seen the schedule on the eurail app, which state that seat reservation optional.I do not have experience to visit both places before during christmas holiday. May I ask your suggestion whether it is necessary to book seat reservation for both trip during christmas holiday? Thank you for your help.

We’re trying out the plus pass for the first time, travelling from Switzerland to the UK.The TGV Lyria and the Eurostar both require 1 credit each, so our return trip will be a total of 4 credits. Because we only have 3, we’ll need to pay for one reservation (like with a regular pass), as stated on the Interrail website info about the plus pass. But I can’t figure out how to pay for the additional reservation- does anyone know? When I try to reserve through Interrail I get a message saying “ Not enough free reservations left!” but no option to pay instead.Do I need to use another provider, or is there a way around this within the Interrail reservations booking system? Thanks for your help…(And I agree with many others on other threads, it would be great if the number of credits included in the plus pass is increased! Otherwise I think we will not use it again.)

I would like to take the INC 1962 train between Catania and Florence on January 10, 2026, but I don't find it available. That train appears in the schedule up to December 12, 2026, but not after that. Does anyone know if that train will appear later or if for some reason it won't run in January 2026? There was a recent schedule update, but this train still doesn't appear after December 12th.

I’m using my purchased Eurail pass to travel from Paris to Basel SBB. The route starts at Paris Nord and transfers at Paris Est via public transportation. Can I just start at Paris EST to avoid the public transportation transfer?

Last year I won a 7 day 2nd class interrail pass. Can I upgrade this to a 1st class pass? If so, how does this work? This question is not about reservations, but about the pass.
