I’m traveling with my 14-year-old daughter from Paris to Interlaken on July 11. We have the 4 day, 1st Class Eurail pass. This will be our first trip using the pass, and I’d like to book the trip below. Reservations are required for the first leg, and optional on the last leg. I worry about the stops in between. What if the trains are full? Or, is there a pretty good chance we’ll be able to hop on and find a seat?

I am planning about 10 days travel around Finland, with a first class pass. I would like to know what the rules / experiences are with reservations.Specifically:- I would like to stay flexible, Can I use all trains without reservation? Including seats in night trains?- Without reservation, what seat / class types can you take with a first class pass?- Are reserved seats marked like they are in UK and Germany for example? So you can tell if a seat will be free for your journey. Thanks!

I’m using Interrail around the UK and despite London’s new Elisabeth Line trains clearly being included, we’ve had confusion at the gates where you need to show your Global Pass. I was once refused entry at Liverpool St Station, the gate staff directing me to the ticket office to get a paper ticket proving the validity of my app pass – but of course there they had no idea about this. Tried entering with different guy at the gates and he let me through. This response by TfL suggests they really have a policy in place that requires a paper ticket, but they fail to mention where exactly to get these: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-1415-2223 Since then, I have asked about this at a TfL ticket office as well as 2 national rail ticket offices, but none of the staff had heard of issuing paper proof tickets and some pointed out the app should simply be accepted at the gate. So is this requirement for a paper version just nons

I was looking for a EN train for the above and found in the OBB website a EN 40462 train that departs on 22:28 on 1 June, but the interrail App doesn't show this connection! I went ahead to buy only the the sleeper on the OBB Website anyway. Can I instead add another train connection in the interail App instead, say a NJ train, and travel on the EN train? Thanks!

Hello dear community, I have a one Country pass for France (which includes 3 days) but I feel like I can only go to Paris, because for all other destinations I have to activate additional trips. Am I wrong about that?"

Ive booked a ticket from Amsterdam Centraal to Berlin Hauptbahnhof, with one stop on the way in Berlin Spandau. I have booked the ticket but in the confirmation email it only shows the ticket from Amsterdam Centraal to Berlin Spandau. There is nowhere on the ticket that shows Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Is this correct? And will my ticket be valid to reach Hauptbahnhof from Spandau?

My global promo pass simply says 15 days.  How do I know if this is consecutive or flexible?  I wanted the flexi pass but I’m unsure of what I bought!  How do I know?

I have checked Rail Europe App on my planned trip from La Spezia Centrale to Florence S.M.N. on date 6 Jun 2025 it shown the schedule 0600 - 0852 available and seat reservation is not required. Then I unable to serach this trip result in my Rail Planner. Can I still use my Eurail global pass to travel on this schedule? How I proof to train ticket inspector if they check ticket since the journey do not reflect in my Rail planner and i could not validate the journey date and trip.

I already reserved seat from milano to zuerich, however is far away from my friends, how can i change it

Hi guys, I’m currently planning my interrail route this summer and I’m looking from getting from Budapest to Zagreb/Ljubljana on Thursday the 10th of July but I can’t seem to find a train to book because the websites either arent loading or saying theres some kind of error? Is this just me or is there an issue with the trainlines that day? If anyone could help me find a train or book a reservation to either Zagreb or Ljubljana at any time on the 10th of July that would be amazing! Thank you!

I’m on ACP Rail site, I’d like to buy seat reservation from Glasgow All Stations to Liverpool All Stations on 2025-08-17 from 7 A.M:, but this message appears:EvolviService: No fares found.

This may be caused by:- seat reservations being compulsory yet all seats are taken; the timetable has not yet been finalised for this date; or the route searched is not a valid route.I tried several times from like December and this message appeared always. How is it possible that it was already full, if train reservations starts three months before the date of the journey? thanks!

I am so confused. I bought the Global Mobile Pass Flex. We will be going from London to Brussels to Amsterdam all in the space of July 22 to the 27. I’ve downloaded the Eurostar app, the Rail Europe app which told me that to activate my pass I need to download another app (Rail Planner) I am losing my mind. We would like to take a day trip from Brussels to Bruge. Do I need to buy yet another train ticket for this, or will the pass we already have get us on a train? And why can’t I see any kind of barcode or QR code FOR the actual Eurail Pass? When I go to the Rail Europe app I’m prompted to add go to the Rail Planner and do steps 1-3. But I’ve done that. Like I said, I’m losing my mind with this. Help, please!

I won’t be able to travel, and can’t quite figure out if I get a refund for my pass (which is not activated yet), so I was wondering if it can get transferred to someone else?  Love, Rebecca

I read online that you have to scan your train ticket when traveling anywhere in the Netherlands, both entering and leaving the train/station. How do I do this with a Eurail pass where I won’t even have a train ticket? I will be at the Amsterdam airport and then other cities within the Netherlands.

My sister and I have never traveled in Europe.  We are in Bayeux, France until June 7 and rather than get a hotel, we thought we would ride the overnight train to a connection to catch the Glacier Express or the Bernina Express on the 8th of June.  Is that possible?  Our next stop is Fussen, Germany. Also, is it true that we can ride a local train that follows the same track that is much less expensive than the Glacier Express or the Bernina Express?

This is a nighttrain from Basel to Amsterdam, it says that a reservation is not required, but everywhere online I see that every night train needs a reservation including this route. I can't make a reservation for this train online, the interrail site just freezes and nowhere else can I make a reservation for this train specifically. Can I just appear there and walk in with just my interrail pass? I really don't want to figure this out on the night itself. Thank you!

I didn’t realise I had to activator my interrail pass as I already had the pass numbers. today I booked an English LNER train which when I checked said it accepted interrail global passes. However, when I booked it didn’t ask for the pass number. I didn’t receive any discount. later on today I received communications from interrail asking me to activate my pass and download the app. When o search for the same train through the app it looks a lot cheaper.what do I do? How do I get a refund? I’ve also paid for other trains before activating my pass. In total I’ve spent about £200 on top of my £450 interrail pass.

Hey everyone ,I recently re-downloaded the Interrail app on a new phone and something weird is happening again. When I zoom in on the map, I still can’t see any train stations – they just don’t show up at all. What i see (opens imgur)The strange part is that I had the app before and it worked fine back then. I did join the beta program at one point, and that’s when I first noticed this issue. I left the beta a long time ago, though.I even found an old note I made about it around 10 months ago:I typed two stations for my trip (Madrid City and Valencia City), then tried searching for stations in Barcelona. I pressed “view on map,” but no stations appeared. Restarting the app didn’t help. Now, I just redownloaded the app yesterday and the same issue is still there  even though I’m no longer in the beta. I really want to be able to see the stations that are iaround form the town ill stay so I can plan my trip better. I’ll be staying in a city and want to explore nearby smaller towns/village

Hi everyone. This is my first time on using Eurail Pass for my next Europe Trip, then I have some questions regarding seat reservation. Hopefully all of you can help me to solve the issues regarding seat reservation.I have planned to user Eurostar for my trip from Paris to Amsterdam. My question is whether the seat reservation in Eurail will determine the seat number as well or we have to make another reservation to get the seat number?Secondly, if I travel together with my wife, is it possible to have seat together in Eurostar? Thank you.

Is it possible for me to buy a pass which acts as a return day pass each day? I plan to stay in St. Gallen, Switzerland and each day travel from there to a different place for the day and then return back to St.Gallen to stay the night and so on

Hi I’m Benji, 19 years old from Germany and I’m going on an Interrail trip this summer to Skandinavia 🚊🌍. I want to visit Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Bergen and Gothenburg. I would love to get some inspiration about what to visit while being at these places plus recommendations for affordable accomodation. Wouldn’t mind to connect with some people who are planning something similar either ;).

Hi there,In the last two weeks, when you go on to the Interrail reservation page on some of my devices it will just stay and be stuck loading while on my other devices once you try sign in, in step 2 your pass/ trip to select won’t show up. This is extremely frustrating when you are trying to plan your trip and taking high speed trains. Perhaps @Eurail Community Moderator or anyone else knows the problem or are able to directly contact the Interrail team please. Note: Have 4 seat reservation credits from the DiscoverEU, so I cannot use other platforms e.g. Rail Europe to book them, currently just looking to know my options and availability but if this problem persists in June, I may have to contact the DiscoverEU team to book them, which means I cannot just book my seat reservations on the fly. For the Interrail team, surely you can improve your website asap to make it user friendly for people to book seat reservations on your own page insuring there are no bugs and greatly reduce or

I need to travel with my son from Madrid to Narbonne at 13:18 by Renfe, which are the options to make that resevation?

Hi, We are booked on the Bernina Express arriving in the late afternoon into Tirano.  The original plan was to head into Milan and onto Lake Garda but we are struggling on getting to Milan. I’m struggling to find any way out of Tirano.  I understand the route is closed and a replacement bus service is in action.  Using the Trenitalia web site, it shows no trains.  I assume I would need a ticket for the rail replacement service but if I can’t buy a train ticket, I’m stuck. If there was a rail replacement timetable, I could sort when we get to Tirano but I can’t seem to find one of them either. Any advice would be welcome.
