+8Best way is usually to book directly with DB using the special link: https://int.bahn.de/en/buchung/start?KL=2&ET=PASSZUSCHLAG
(works for the direct connections from Germany to Paris, you have to keep the just seat reservation option off)
Edit: seems like on bahn.de it fails at the step of getting reservations. Raileurope shows availability for the direct train arround 11:00.

The fact that the DB website shows a price does not mean there's availability. You always have to click further until the page where it asks you to log in.
