Train connections & reservations

Bonjour,Je teste pour la première fois Interrail et après avoir acheté 4 pass, je suis bloquée dès le premier trajet que je veux effectuer. Pour aller de Lyon à Mannheim en Allemagne, il m’est indiqué que “Les places réservées aux détenteurs du Pass sont probablement épuisées.” Est-ce possible ???Je prévois de partir le 18 juillet et nous sommes le 8 mars….Qu’en pensez-vous ?Comment faire ? 

Hello, I have the eurail global plus pass class 1. And I want to buy a sleeper ticket from Nice to Paris on Mar 26. But the website shows there are two same class name 2nd class — Tarif PASS EURAIL INTERRAIL while one is free and the other need one point. Is there something wrong? How can I book a sleeper one? 

I am American and will be taking the train from London to Frankfurt in April, changing trains in Bruxelles-Midi (Belgium).  How much time will I need to change trains in Bruxelles-Midi incorporating the time needed for the new EES system.  Thank you.

Hello, since one week I try to find a way to make a reseration for train ECE 151 from Freiburg/Germany to Milano. But neither at Interrail.eu nor directly at Bahn.de can I get a reservation for a seat. How can I manage that? Or is the train not free for a global pass Interrail? Please help me. 

I seem to have missed out on tickets for 31.07.26 for 31st July from Milan to Paris, which I understand became available 150 days before, so 2 days ago. If I can’t get tickets to travel on this date through another suitable route I’ll be looking to travel this route on the soonest date afterwards. Does anyone know if tickets become available at midnight in the UK 150 days before? Are they likely to have sold out because Europe has access to the same tickets earlier because of the time difference? Any advice appreciated.

Ich versuche gerade für den Nachtzug NT 94 am 27.05. Von Stockholm nach Boden (Schweden) ein Schlafwagenabteil zu reservieren. Im RailPlaner werden mir aber nur Liegewagenplätze in der 2. Klasse angeboten, obwohl in der Übersicht bei der Zugverbindung Private Schlafwagen aufgeführt sind.  Es gibt auch noch freie Schlafplätze, da ich auf der WebSide von SJ.se Plätze buchen könnte. Die wären aber mit dem Preis für die Zugfahrt.  Weiß jemand, wie ich entweder über den Railplaner an die Schlafwagenplätze komme (habe einen 1. Kl. Mobil-Pass) oder wie ich auf SJ.se Schlafwagenplätze ohne Zugticket buchen kann.

The station of Renfe Cercanias’s Tres Cantos does not appear automatically in the app so I entered it manually, the app gave me the QR but this QR was not able to get read at the entrance at Madrid-Recoletos station, the attendant at the station told me that Cercanias was not included in Eurail pass but the list shows it as included. Does someone knows what to do?

I've been waiting until it was 150 days before departure before booking my seats (which was today,  it had been saying they were bookable 150 days before departure) but now when I try to book Paris - Lausanne (switzerland) there are no trains with reservations able to book. Am I missing something?I’m looking for the 29th July. 

Hello everyone. The interrail.eu website keeps telling me that tickets are open for sale 90 or 150 days prior to departure. But this morning i got up at 6:45 to purchase a ticket on the 27th of july and it was already sold out. Do the tickets for a day have a specific time they open for sale, or do you know of a website where one could purchase them prior to when they open for sale on interrail.eu? Help would be much aprreciated:)

Bahn.com, B-europe.com, and Eurostar themselves show a train from London to Brussels on 14 March at 07:04 - but when I try to book it on the Interrail reservations page, it seems to have vanished?!  [Yes I checked a few minutes before on B-Europe that Interrail passholder fares *were* available].Any ideas? I want to book with the Interrail website as they seem to have the cheapest fees, E2 per trip.Thanks.

I just spotted a posting which has somewhat alarmed me.  It was referring to new restrictions that had come into place at Tirano if travelling toward St Moritz and Chur.  It would appear that there was a very long queuing system in place for people without seat reservations resulting in people not catching their planned train.Admittedly we will not be travelling on this line until September, and it is not clear whether or not this was just a temporary arrangement.  Even so, we have very little flexibility in our journey plans and so don’t want to take any risks.  (Our intention is to take the 9.41 from Tirano to St Moritz and then the 12.47 from St Moritz to Chur.)My question is how do I go about buying seat reservations for these trains.  I went onto Rail Europe to see how to book seat reservations.  (Not for our actual trips - as these are not yet available, but for comparable journeys in May).  However because reservations are optional all it said was ‘FREE’ and I could not see a wa

Hi allLooking at reserving a 2nd class couchette on this service for four people.   On the sncf booking site it appears I can still get a private space (Espace Privatif), but here I can’t tell if one of the above prices is for a private couchette. Any ideas? If not, do we know what the price difference is?Many thanksPaul

Hello there,We are planning on travelling from Brussels to Salzburg on the NJ469 June 1st. When we were planning our trip last week, we were able to book onto the June 1st service. However this weekend, we were going to sort out all out seat reservations and accomodation and a key part of our trip (this night train) we are unable to reserve our seats.Looking online there is extensive maintenance works on the lines and many of the services prior are also showing un-reservable. With June 3rd being the first train in a while where you can actually book again. Just wondering if anyone has any information on the confidence on this service becoming available again (as it appeared last week)? and when would OBB likely provide confirmation of this service?I have set up an alert through the OBB website, but given we have booked certain trains, it would be good to know sooner rather than later regarding this service.Thank you in advance 

The Interrail website shows reservation fee indications. Before I purchase a pass, I want to check the precise cost of reservations on specific Eurostar trains (I assume they are more expensive on busier trains). But to do that I need to book a journey, and to book a journey I need to add a traveller, for which I need a Pass number. Is it possible to check the price of specific seat reservations before buying a pass?

In planning our upcoming trip through Europe, we booked Eurail seat reservations for our intended routes. I know those seat reservations are non-refundable. Now we want to change routes. Can we change those seat reservations without losing money?

Is it possible to take a train different to the one I put in the Rail Planner (It does not need seat reservation) ?I am considering taking day trips when I’ll be travelling, and I wanted to know whether I exclusively have to take the ones I associated to the pass. thanks in advance

I am travelling around Spain at Easter and am finding it very hard to reserve the seats I need on-line.  I am thinking of going to a train station in Spain and buying them there - is this risky?  I am thinking of Santander late afternoon on a Sunday - would the station be open?  Or in Granada on 30th or 31st March.  Any advuce?

Hi, I want to do an Interrail reservation on the sleeper (EN414) from Ljubljana to Stuttgart in mid/late March, but most dates say “Currently not reservable” (it’s the same with or without an Interrail pass). However, it *is* possible to get a reservation on the same train starting from Zagreb!!Do Austrian Railways prioritise passengers doing the ‘whole trip’ from Zagreb to Stuttgart, before releasing seats/berths from intermediate stations, maybe just a few days before? Seems crazy when the price is the same!! If I book a reservation departing from Zagreb, but only board at Ljubljana, will my reservation be invalid and get thrown off the train?Thanks for any assistance.

HiLooking at seat reservations from Bologna to Salzburg ( via Innsbruck) for June 17th. The Raileurope site says “Seat reservation has to be done at station”. It’s the 9:52 am  Railjet #86. Not sure what this means - that I have to wait until I get to Bologna on that day and hope there are seats? Any insights welcome. Jon

My wife and I have first class Interrail passes and we shall shortly be purchasing seat reservations for the journeys from Torino Porta Susa to Roma Termini and Roma Termini to Milano Porta Garibaldi.    I was very surprised when I went onto the Rail Europe site just now that as well as offering two reserved seats at £23.60, there was also the option to purchase seats in the “Business suite” for £41.80.   When I look on the Trenitalia website I see, other than Standard and Business class, there is only  “Executive” class mentioned.  So, am I right in assuming that for, effectively an extra £9 each my wife and I could get a couple of executive class seats?    And does this give us access to the Executive Lounges at stations?  I am questioning this because I have looked at previous responses on this forum and there it was said that a First class Interrail pass was gave you access to Business class but not Executive class.

On 1st February, my partner and I managed to book the once-a-day Renfe AVE Internacional from Narbonne to Madrid without any issues on the Interrail website (date of travel 1st May 2026, Interrail 1st class pass).We are now trying to book the return leg of our journey, Madrid to Narbonne on 10th May 2026, but we are unable to. We get this message: “No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.”If I search for the train we already booked (1st May) the same message appears. What happened? Why were we able to book the first leg of our journey but now that’s no longer possible? What can we do?To note - the 10th May trains are available on Renfe’s website, just not (any longer?) on Interrail

Is anyone else getting a syteem error when hitting the Go to seat reservation on the Deutsche Bahn app? It seems I can book seat reservation via Eurail, but then that would cost me 16 euros for a two-leg journey (i.e. 2 trains) instead of 6.90 euros for the same journey using the DB app! [10-2-2026]

I’m planning my trip with some friends and am onto the stage of booking seats for the trains that require seat bookings (Eurostar, etc), but part of the journey from Prague to Budapest - more specifically, Prague Hlavni Nadrazi to Budapest-Nyugati - says that a seat reservation is required. However, the cost is free, but when I go to book it, it won’t let me book it. It won’t let me add the tickets to cart and won’t let me do anything with them. I can’t even click on it.I don’t want to get there and then have to buy a ticket when I thought I didn’t need to. I’ve also looked online at other places, and the same tickets would cost a lot more than I would like to pay.How can I book these tickets for free when it won’t let me?
