Train connections & reservations

Hello! Newbie to rail travel and I’m trying to figure out how to get from point A to point B and when I need to book a reservation. I purchased a 5 day Eurail pass for myself and my daughter. I have read that it is possible to get around the UK without train reservations but I’m struggling with when I need to have a seat reservation and when I can use the Rail Planner app on the day of travel. I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve left it to last minute if I need to book a reservation because I see many options are not available now. This trip was fairly last minute to begin with so I’m trying to make it work! :-) I only booked my airfare less than 2 weeks ago!I have booked and paid for a seat reservation on Eurostar for the trip from Paris to London and back. So yay! I’ve got that arranged. No other train travel or hotels have been booked/reserved yet. I cannot book a reservation while logged in. The ‘Book reservation’ button just disappears. Why?In the first screenshot beneath, the button is there but I’am not logged in. In the second I am logged in, which is needed to proceed with the booking, but the button disappears. How do I now book a reservation? 

Hi! Me and my friend will travel together to Budapest next month. We both booked a seat, but unfortunatly the seats are not located next to each other. Is it possible to book new seats? Thanks in advance!

Hi community, I bought a mobile global Interail pass a few days ago and since then I have to say my experience with Interail website and customer service has been completely awful. I was first able (after experiencing many problems with Interrail website though) to book my first trip: Colmar (France) - London. Unfortunately after that it has been impossible for me to buy my second trip on the website: London - Bern on the 31st of July 2022 or even only London - Paris via Eurostar.The website says ‘prices unavailable. Check back in a few hours to see prices and book this seat reservations’. I have been checking now for many many hours and days and it is still the same.I have to add that before I bought my pass I was able to check the prices of these trips and all on their webiste, so I really don’t understand what is going on now.  Then I wrote Interail customer service several times from last Friday and still got no answer from them. I have been looking on forums and websites for hours

Dears, I want to make Seat reservation for the night train IC 390 which goes from Hamburg to copenhagen on 23 June 2023. (23:56 to 7:03) I tried using DSB and DB sites, both say that reservation is not possible, while Eurail site says that no seat reservation is required. Could you please let me know if there is a possibility to make the reservation or not. Thank you

Can I use a 4 days international pass to go from Copenhagen to Enschede? Or do i need to book another train from Hamburg/Osnabruck-Osnabruck/Enschede It is possible to go from Copenhagen to Hamburg, then to Osnabrück and then to Enschede. 

Hello.I will be in Amsterdam for the first time, soon, and am unfamiliar with the practices there.I have a 1st Class Eurail pass, Digital.I will travel from Amsterdam to Brussels.  No seat reservations are required for the IC train.  And the app says that the price of IC trains are already included in my Eurail pass. But can anyone tell me if there is anything that I must do on the Eurail app before I board the IC train?  Since there are no reservations required, and permission to use the train is already included in my Eurail app, then do I simply walk onto the train without a printed ticket or barcode?  Thank you.

On the Forum I read about the ÖBB app as a good possibility to make reservations in Italian trains. Tomorrow we want to travel from Milano to Rom. Seat reservation in the öbb App is possible but I get told: Ticket bitte vorab ausdrucken. Auf A4 papier ausdrucken. My question is: what is the alternativ? If I go to the Station about one hour earlier can I get the reservation too in a Ticket office? How much time does that take?

There is an error in the timetable. One can not travel from Teltow to Bingen am Rhein by public transport in 20 minutes which it returns. It is 450 kilometers.Where it is possible to report this issue? Chatbot or help centre leads nowhere.Edit:The search was for trip from Berlin to Paris and it was on the web timetables.  

I received an email from SNCF regarding a cancelled train (France strikes) but not on Eurail or on SNCF Connect site can I look up my ticket information (I tried ‘import’ but that failed). I can’t get in touch with anyone at Eurail. How do I proceed? Per the email, neither option is actionable (I did not have a eurail account when I bought tickets): Your train 4655, on 16/03, departing from MONTPELLIER SAINT ROCH to MARSEILLE SAINT CHARLES is cancelled due to interprofessional social movement.We offer you the following options:     Exchange your ticket at no cost, keeping the same departure and arrival stations.      Cancel your ticket, before departure, to get a refund.To do this, go to SNCF Connect or to your SNCF-approved travel agency.

Hello There,(Sorry for my broken english) That will be my first travel arround the Europe, i have found a little trouble, i`m searching for a train from Interlaken to Venezia Mestre, the train change will be on Brig on destination to Venezia Mestre, the problem is. I really searched for but i couldn`t find the site or how book a seat reservation, maybe i will need make a reservation on the train station on Brig? Thanks for any light I looked in all that sites

Hi, I want to take a tgv on 30/06 from Brussels South (Midi) to Montpellier Sud De France and back again on 02/07.I currently can't make any reservation and it says so on the both the app and the website that reservations can be made 'up to 90 days on advance'. Do they mean by that that I can make a reservation that way  starting from 90 days on advance or literally up to 90 days on advance and not after?I have tried booking directly through Belgian rail and French rail sites but at no point so they ask if I have a railpass. Calling the phone numbers leads to being on hold for longer than I have time for.Is it not possible to book directly through the app or Interrail website?

Hi allNeed to prebook 1st classseat reservations for 2 people with global pass June 2nd Stuttgart to Strasbourg ICE 9572 which is TGV, with limited seats for interrail pass holders.Know its pricey but need to be sure of seats, for few reasons.Tried  DBapp, CD website, OB app and SNCF. Phrases such as ticket not available or the button to book seat res only on DB is just not on screen. Is it just too early or are they sold out? All help appreciated,  cheers

I book some tickets and at the final step of the paiement, i got a circle loading my paiement but i never had a email to confirm my booking and an my bank account has not pay this booking. It take a bit time ? Need I to do my booking again ?

Hi Everyone, With my friend, we want to travel with the Sofia - Istanbul express night train. We have a question related to the number of travels days. In fact, during this night train, there are two correspondences : one in bulgaria (plovdiv) and one in Turquey. So, this travel count for 1 or 2 days of travel with the global pass interrail ?  Thanks for your answers. 

We booked 5 Eurostar passholder reservations on the 9044 train departing London at 17:31 on 31 March 2023. That train no longer appears in the app OR the Eurostar website timetable?Is the train no longer running? No one has been in touch to explain or propose an alternative booking.  Do we need to sort that ourselves?can we get the original non refundable reservation fee refunded for a non existent train?Am I best to contact Eurail or Eurostar to resolve?thank you! 

Bonjour, Jai pris un pass global pour voyager cet été 2023 (juillet et août). J’aimerais boucler mes réservations au plus tôt pour ne pas me retrouver coincée par la période de forte affluence et ne plus avoir de places dans les trains. Mais pour l’Espagne, je vois qu'on ne peut réserver que dans les gares. J'habite en France (à La Réunion plus précisément) et je ne vois pas comment anticiper mes réservations et récupérer mes billets. j'ai peur de me retrouver le bec dans l'eau si j'attends d'être sur place pour faire mes réservations, en plein été et donc avec le risque d'avoir des trains qui affichent complet. Merci pour vos conseils et retours d'expériences pour ceux qui auraient utiliser un pass en espagne pendant l'été.  

I’m a resident of Switzerland (Zurich) and plan to travel in England and France during Sept. and Oct. but want to return to Switzerland 3 to 4 times in this period; one outbound/inbound journey is included in the pass which I can use at any time.What I understand so far: to “save” the out/inbound journey I need to buy point-to-point tickets as explained here: https://www.interrail.eu/en/interrail-passes/what-is-interrail/travel-your-own-countrySo if I take a train from Zurich SBB to Paris via Basel SBB but want to avoid the outbound journey then:I’d need to buy a ticket from Zurich SBB to Basel SBB (the “Grenzbahnhof”) and the journey from Basel SBB to Paris would then be covered by my Global Pass If I take the TGV from Zurich then I’d need to buy a point-to-ticket from Zurich to Basel SBB incl. a seat reservation PLUS a seat reservation from Basel SBB to Paris OR I could take a Swiss train from Zurich to Basel SBB and then get on the TGV in Basel SBB with my Global Pass plus seat rese

TGV Barcelona - Valence for 11 august 2023. Times not matching in Interrail Website and SNCF Connect. Edit: I saw already another post where it is explained that schedules on Interrail website are not reliable as updated less frequently than that of operators.

Hello,I have two questions :Just to make sure, reserving a berth in advance for the Stockholm/Narvik night train doesn’t mean it will activate my Interrail pass, right? I specified that I have a pass in the research to have the correct prices, and the SJ website is asking for my ticket number. It might sound like a silly question, but I don’t want to make a silly mistake (: I’m also planning on reserving another berth in another night train (this time Bodø/Trondheim) but when I try to make my reservation on Entur, I can’t seem to find the ‘filter’ in which to add my Interrail ticket as a form of discount for my reservation. I’ll be arriving in Bari on the ferry from Greece on Sunday at, theoretically, 0900hrs. The ferry is often late though so I don’t know which Bari to Rimini train to reserve. My question is, “how likely are they to run out of Interrail reservations?” Some of the trains are 5 Euro reservations and some are 12 Euros.

Hi guys!We are planning to travel from Warsaw to Vienna by Euronight trains (EN407) on 28th June. However I cannot find this train in the rail planner. I see the reservation is avaliable in the Polrail Service with option for people who have Eurail pass but this website is not shown or authorised? in the Eurail website. Is it too early for this train reservation or it is the problem from the rail planner?Thanks for all your help in advance!Jason

Hi!On March 13th I booked a paper seat reservation for the train from Warsaw to Szceczin on April 5th. I am a very anxious person so I am quite terrified my ticket won’t arrive on time (the estimated delivery date during check-out was April 3rd). I try reasurring myself by reading this forum and trying to convince myself that if the website let me buy the ticket it should be fine, but anxiety can do terrible things to one’s emotions 😅Does anyone know what I can do if my ticket doesn’t arrive on time to actually board the train? I have a big trip planned to see some friends and I would really hate having to cancel it all because of that one ticket.Thank you in avance!

I have paid for seat reservations on Eurostar for a specific date and time.My train departed at 09:03 a.m. on April 15th I have the Eurostar App that still shows this date and time. But both the Eurail app and the Eurostar website timetables no longer show this train at all. They show a 9:30 a.m. train or an 8:30 a.m. train.I have written to Eurostar support to find out what happened to my reservation, but in the meantime I'd like to know if this is a common occurrence and how do people get it solved.
