Train connections & reservations

Tengo un pase de 15 días en dos meses para 2 personas; uno de mis viajes será de Amsterdam a Munich durante la noche… quisiera saber en qué momento debo reservar mis asientos (2 personas), si es posible hacerlo con anticipación (y cuánto tiempo antes) para garantizar mis espacios y si solo con el pase activado puedo hacerlo o también hay opción de hacerlo aún sin activar el pase! I’m a US citizen (with 3 family members), trying to travel by high-speed train between Paris Gare de Lyon and Barcelona Sants on Apr 3 2023. We are only taking ONE trip during our stay and I cannot figure out exactly what we need to purchase to make this reservation. Do I need a Eurail Global Pass AND a Paris > Barca reservation? It seems like Global Passes are best if I’m traveling a lot over the course of a month or year.  What do I need to buy and in what order? 

I would like to book a night train (couchette) in June (Basel to Copenhagen). Although it says that the train can be booked up to 90 days in advance, it seems to have run out of tickets and only shows me the option to reserve a seat. How can I reserve a couchette?

Trying to book the ‘reservation needed’ leg (Rotterdam to Antwerp 9.58 train Sat 22 April 2023) of my Leiden to Bruges journey.  Eurail site says no reservations available and can’t get any further with later trains (won’t go to ‘Make Reservation’ option). Tried direct with Thalys, but they are not showing the 9.58 or indeed any other departures at all.  Are there alternative ways of finding out if indeed reservations are all taken, and what the alternative options might be? I’m a newbie (last interrailed in 1974) so just trying to work out the system… Thank you. 

I want to travel from Stockholm to Hamburg on the 17.03.2023 and there are no reservations available. Not on the Interrail website or the sj website. Does this mean the train is sold out?

I am having problems downloading my reservation tickets. Pdf does download but appears to be empty. How to solve this issue?

I activated  my pass and  add all trains to my trip but  when  i try to reserve the seats  there  is  no option to  add to cart

Anyone here who have travelled from Sofia to Istanbul lately? Im trying to reserve a seat on this route, but the page says that's temporalry not possible. Does anyone know why? And is it possible to reserve the ticket in Sofia? Or do I even need a reservation? Help:)

Hi,My starting point is ZurichI have several questions about connections. Is there a direct train connection from Zurich to Belgrade? What is the fastest connection from Belgrade to Thessaloniki? Like in my picture (Belgrade, Sofia, Thessaloniki) or are there faster connections? How do I get from Thessaloniki to Istanbul by train or do I have to take the bus? 

Hi...Thanks for reading….So here is the core of my question.Myself (M) and a friend (F) may travel together this summer.   Each of us if I am correct will buy their own Global Pass.   And if i understand this correctly...we can add their ticket to our pass pretty easily.However, there are times where we will want to share a double on the night train.   Which means we need to book the double at the same time for 2 different people. (two different Global Pass numbers).How is this arranged in the mobile app?  Is it even possible?What does one do if we both want to be in the same night cabin, but are starting out with 2 different Global Passes?Thanks -paul 

Hi, if I have booked an interail pass why do I have to pay more to book my seat in most of trains? Can I book only the journeys and don’t buy a pass?

I am looking at the map of eurail routes and need to know if there is a short route from Faro, Portugal to Sevilla, Spain. I don't see one on the map but these cities are so close! We want to visit both and in order to get to faro to Sevilla it would be a very long journey back to Lisbon, Madrid, and then Sevilla.Or we have to rent a car which would be fine but to rent a car in one country and leave it in another is very expensive. Does anyone have experience with traveling between these smaller cities? And what might be the best practice?  

Hi! Ik heb een Interrail pas. 3 maanden lang Europa.Op 29 maart zal ik deze voor het eerst gebruiken voor een retour naar Basel (terug 2 april). Vanaf Amsterdam via de nachttrein. Nu wil ik ook naar London met Eurail. Ik wil vanaf Amsterdam of Rotterdam met deze internationale trein. In mei wss.Maar ik zie op de website dat je maar één keer het land uit en in mag rijden. Hoe werkt dat in de praktijk?

We are planning a two-month trip through Europe for this summer. We’ve activated our Global passes because we know our first date of train travel. However, we can’t add actual trips yet (for some mysterious  reason), so we’re adding them manually. But how do those manually entered trips turn into trips that will be honored once we start using the passes?This system is extremely confusing, and we’re hoping for some really helpful guidance.Kate Sibley

Hello, I am trying to book the Night Jet sleeper cabin for my family of 4 on July 24th 2023 form Salzburg to Paris. Are they already sold out? I've tried a few different combinations but nothing allows me to purchase tickets.  

we have purchased a 2 month global Eurail pass for Spain & Portugal, Our trip begins in Spain on June 1st 2023. All accommodation bookings have been made so we know exactly on what dates we’ll be traveling from city to city in Spain and Portugal .Our question is regarding seat reservations. We’re aware that seat reservations cannot be booked online for these countries & need to be made either at a ticket office or at the station.We arrive Madrid 1st June & wish to take train straight to Cordoba. Do we run any risk of not being able to make a seat reservation when we arrive in Spain? Because of time of year we’re concerned we won’t get on the train. Is there some way we can secure a booking before arriving in Madrid?We are currently in New Zealand and will be the UK from the 10th May.Any help much appreciated

Bonjour, J’ai commandé un pass interrail et je ne comprends pas pourquoi je ne peux pas déjà réserver mes billets de train. Je comptais partir début juillet mais les billets ne sont pas encore réservable. De plus je souhaite faire un trajet Paris-Prague en interail et on nous indique un message d’erreur pour l’un des trains que nous devrions prendre. Cela veut-il dire que ce train ne sera pas possible d’être réservé même plus tard ? Car j’ai mis le même trajet pour une date ou les billet sont déjà censé pouvoir être réservé, mais le même message apparait. Merci.  

Buen día! Podrían decirme si compro un Pase Global para dos personas, uno de los viajes podré utilizarlo para ir de Amsterdam a Munich viajando de noche (para ahorrar tiempo y gastos de hotel) y si así fuera, cuánto tiempo hace y a qué hora llega del día siguiente!

we cannot book a seat reservation for Spain.  Route Madrid-Valencia, Valencia-Barcelona.  What should we do?

I’m trying to book a reservation which it says it’s needed, but it’s also saying that it can’t be booked on their website.How can I get a reservation for a TER train?  All I see on the sncf site is a way to “Buy” tickets, but obviously I don’t want to do that.
