Train connections & reservations

We got the 5 days train pass, but there are some that are overnight. If a train leaves before 00:00 but has a stopover after 00:00 which we’ll have to switch trains, does that count as two days of travelling or just one? Thank you

Hello,i want to travel from austria to France, Spain and Portugal this year. I am thinking about to buy the first class ticket.  Do I have to make a separate seat reservation for 1st class? When yes, is the price for seat reservations for 1st and 2nd class same?Kind Regards

Hi,I am trying to book a train using Eurail app , from Levanto to Interlaken on 23 June. However, only one train appearing at 17.30. Which takes  24 hours to reach Interlaken ! The kids will be crazy by then .Will there be more trains times released soon as we are eager to  reserve seats?The same journey on 9 June shows up many more trains only taking 5 hours??Thank youKim

Hello all, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this. We have 2 first class interrail tickets. We want to get a sleeper from Munich to Zagreb on 16 March. I looked on OBB and it looks as though there is something happening and we can’t get on the sleeper from Munich. OBB’s system said to change at Salzburg very early in the morning. I therefore booked a sleeper from Salzburg to Zagreb.  However, I recently checked on DB and it is coming up with a better option - to change at Augsburg at 11pm-ish. We would be able to get to bed at around 11pm rather than after 2am. See below: Can anyone shed any light on why this happened and offer any advice? Thank you!

Hello, my last travel day is the 4.3. and I was planning on taking a night train because I read that it only counts as one day. I sadly can't activate it because it tells me that I need another travel day. I am not switching trains after midnight.  I also already bought the Reservation.Do you know what I can do to make it work?

I am arriving in Paris on the Eurostar from London and need to change to the St. Lazare station to get to Bayeux.  I have one hour between trains.  I read that the St. Lazare station is difficult to find.  Is that plenty of time and can someone let me know the best way to get from one station to the other please?  It looks like they are close but I am uncertain about train travel and want to be the best prepared I can be.  Thanks.

Hello everyone,For this summer im putting together my travel plan. I have a few things that I can’ t seem to figure out regarding the seat reservations on night trains. (FYI I have a 21-day interrail global pass) If I book a train, a night train, from Rotterdam to Zuerich HB it tells me the seats are included. Does this mean that when I activate this ticket, I will be guaranteed to have a seat on the selected train? And what types of seats are these usually? And if reservation is needed/possible, what do you guys recommend. I also want to go from Beograd Centar (Serbia) to Bar (Montenegro). This, again, is a night train. The Eurail website tells me I can buy Serbian tickets at the station. But wouldn’t It be too late to buy tickets if I need to take this night train the same day I get to that particular station?Lastly I am trying to get day train tickets from Zuerich HB to Rome on the 8th of July, but I can’t seem to find any past the 10th of June. Is there a reason for this?If someone

Essentially, a few of the routes I was planning don't require seat reservations so is there a way to book my place on the train without paying anything additional?

Hiwe would like to travel to Denmark from Freiburg, Germany, to get a ferry there to Norway.It is possible to take the ÖBB Nightjet from Freiburg to Duisburg (starts 00:05) and then from Duisburg on another trains to cross the border as an outbound Traveldays? Someone said, this is not possible for people living in Germany, because the Nightjet is an Austrian train and does not cross the border to Denmark. It only would be possible to take the Night IC (which is actually the same train, but the German part with no cabins) to do this part as an outbound travel. Is this correct?And, in case it is incorrect, where could I buy the tickets for the NJ then, online?Gerne auch Antworten in Deutsch.Viele Grüße aus Freiburg.

Hi allWe want to travel Athens to Patra April 5th. We have Global pass (2 month 1st class)We know its a train from Athens to Kiato then Bus connection from Kiato to Patras.Both Interrail app and Hellanic train website state seat reservation is compulsory for bus section.We believe as this is a train-related bus transfer, the bus section should be free using our interrail passThere appears to be no Online method of making this seat reservation without paying.Is the ONLY way to make this seat reservation to go in person to the train station in Athens?Thank you

Hi all,I’m looking for a reservation Paris-Barcelona this July. I read that reservations for TGV can only be made 3 months before. However since the route Paris-Barcelona is available already, I wonder if I could already make reservations.I have no ticket yet to check, but would book it if I’m sure I ould make reservations. Hello, I want to travel from Venice via Bologna to Milan. Both rides on Frecciarossa which requires seat reservation. What happens if I miss the connecting train because of the first train being delayed ? My best guess is that I should see station staff in Bologna, tell the the situation and will be given a new reservation for the next train, if seats are available. Has someone any experience if this usually works smooth in Italy ? Thx for help !

I am trying to understand what you get with the First Class Eurail Global Pass ticket.  We will be travelling from London to Rome via train from the last week of April through to Mid May (a little over 3 weeks). We are going from London - Brussels - Paris - Geneva - Zurich - Venice - Florence - Rome - Amsterdam. We have not yet purchased our global pass, but If we purchase first class global pass do we still have to pay for the standard or first class seat reservations? For example, the app states that we have to pay an additional 44 dollars per person for first class tickets on the Eurostar from London to Brussels. Similar examples of needing to pay for a seat reservation include the trip from Paris to Geneva and all the trips in Italy. If we purchase a First Class Global pass would we still have to pay these seat reservations and if so would they be less than what is shown in the App? 

Hello, The Interrail website states that Interrail Global Pass holders do not pay the regular fare for certain ferry crossings from Bari to Patras, but are charged surcharges, taxes etc. Is that correct? Has anyone done this crossing before and know how much it costs with the Global Pass?Thank you!

I am booking a train from Paris Lyon to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc14:59 Wed 17 May 2023and cannot figure out where to put in the Eurorail global pass number?  So frustrating.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there, I’ve booked two sleeper cabins on the OBB Nightjet from Brussels to Vienna at the end of July, for my family and me. We’re arriving into Brussels Midi on the Eurostar from London at around 16.00. I didn’t realise but I’ve booked the OBB Nightjet to Vienna from Brussels Nord, when it does actually start from Brussels Midi.  Do you think I should try to change the booking so we get on at Midi or just leave it that we get on at Nord??It departs Nord at approx 19.43, we arrive into Midi at approx 16.00. Many thanks for you help!

Hi, trying to book from Barcelona to Montpellier. Done everything right on the app but it falls over when paying by credit card—also tries PayPal. This also occurred in France and ended up going to the train station. But Barcelona station cannot help—-they just say go on line. I want to leave this Sunday. Also we have many trips across Europe and I would like to use the app and website rather than going to the station all the time.. The message says—-something went wrong please refresh—/but this did not work. Cheers jeff

I want to take a night train from Munich to Venezia.It leaves at 23pm and arrives 8am next day, so I would need to take this one because of the way I’m managing my travel days. However, when I try to purchase the seat reservation it shows me an information like in the picture below.once I cannot buy the ticket, I was wondering if I could just take the train without seat reservation, once I have no other way to make this trip

I am planning on travelling to Switzerland during my 3 week trip during August but I just wondered if anyone had any recommendations on their favourite parts/ must see destinations? we have been told about Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald however we are going from switzerland to paris so also wondered if there are any amazing destinations more in the west. Hi there,Been having trouble sorting out my travel from Istanbul back towards the west. Have Istanbul to Sofia all sorted but in the app Im having to go hopping from Sofia - Vidin - Arad - Budapest - Zagreb. When I could really do with going through Belgrade or Sarajevo, cutting down several hours on my trip to Zagreb. All help appreciated! Also still no trains out of Greece? Have accepted needing to fly from Thessaloniki to Istanbul but confirmation welcome!

Hi there,I need a seat reservation for a SNCF train within france. I have read that it should be possible at b-europe with the pass cover number.But on their website there is only a form for Thalys and Eurostar trains. Therefore I can’t choose my connection. How can i do this?Thank you
