Train connections & reservations

Hi everyone,I’m trying to book a reservation (for 4 people) on the TGV from Zurich to Dijon on 1st August. I have the SNCF app but I can’t seem to add that I have an interrail pass. And when I search on the Eurail site and app it doesn’t let me book there. Am i missing something? Am I too early maybe? Thanks in advance!

I have tried to plan my trips, but RailPlanner tells always: Sorry, we don´t have train times for these dates yet -we´re waiting for a timetable update from the railways.Please change your search and try again. I have used last spring Railpalnner – no problems...

The Caledonian Sleeper site is contradicting my understanding of night trains and Eurail passes. They write:“Britrail / Inter-Rail / Eurail / FIP Coupons will need to be valid on the date you arrive in your destination but not necessarily on the date you join the train for departures before midnight.”Now, I understand why that might be the case for the trains that depart Edinburgh or Glasgow just before midnight: it’s after midnight CET, and maybe the app logs it in CET time.But I want to use my pass one morning to go from Glasgow to Fort William, explore, then get on the 19:50 departure to London, which arrives around 7am.Can anybody advise?

Hello all, two of us have a two-month 1st class interrail pass. I have worked out our itinerary and booked reservations for things like sleepers, panoramic cars, TGV etc. These are trains for which I haven’t booked seat reservations. I have a condition which means I can’t stand for long periods of time. Equally, we don’t want to spend money on reservations unnecessarily. Hi there, I’m trying to but a 4-berth private couchette or 2 double private sleeper cabins for my family (2 adults, 2 kids) on the 24th July (Brussels to Vienna) but no couchettes are showing up for this date, and no double cabins now either - would they be sold out already? I thought the tickets had only just been released?I’m finding the OBB booking pages a little difficult and what’s on offer keeps changing, ie options keep disappearing within a matter of minutes like they’re all selling out super quick!! Any help or advice much appreciated.Thanks

When I search for trains Lugano to MXP it says pass not valid.Trenitalia is listed and has trains for this route on their website take 1.5 hours with one change.  Eurail route is 2 hours 44 minutes.Trainline show direct trains.What am I missing? Thanks

Hi,We’ve got reservations on 20th February on Eurostar (London - Paris) and TGV (Paris - Hendaye). Seeing the latest update to the news on this website it appears 20th will be the last day of French industrial action. Naturally I’m worried that our trains might be cancelled, since if they are our whole itinerary is totally stuffed as we have onward bookings to Lisbon (mercifully just after the Portugal strike action is due to end). Looking at the Eurostar and SNCF sites, I haven’t been able to work out whether there’s any way of knowing in advance whether our services will be affected: couldn’t see anything on the SNCF site, while Eurostar is only showing information for the next day. Can anyone shed any light?Thanks

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows the exact time when the seat reservation for Glacier Express opens 93 days in advance. I thought it would be open by midnight 93 days before the departure date, but it already passed midnight and I kept refreshing the booking page, it still says “Travel date too far in the future. You can only book 93 days in advance.” The latest date available is May 18 so far, however, I need to book for May 19. The first class seats of the earlier train seem to be very popular and the good seats are sold out pretty fast as soon as the booking opens. I can't really sit in front of the laptop and keep refreshing the booking page for hours until it opens. So any chance, anyone here knows the exact open time? Thank you so much :)

Hello everyone, I wanted to book seat reservation for Geneva (Cornavin) to Zermatt. I tried on ÖBB with the one way ticket option, it shows as the following:Does that mean I don't need to book seat reservation for these trains?Would it likely be no seat available if I don't book reservation?We have our scenic trains and accommodations in Zermatt and St. Morris all booked in and paid, really don't want to not be able to get there from Geneva the day before due to the lack of seat availability.Thanks a lot in advance :) 

Can't make seat reservation London - Paris "Pass not vaid on this date" but the pass date is. 

My wife and I are trying to reserve seats for a train on Thursday 6th October, however when we add the reservation to the cart, it says the booking is for Friday 7th October.  We are booking from Australia. Which date should we select to make sure that we are on the train on Thursday 6th is October local time?

I accidentally booked tickets on Eurostar from London to Rotterdam instead of Amsterdam. I can’t change without cancelling the non refundable tickets and can’t seem to add a destination online by managing booking (noting the train stops in Rotterdam). Is it possible to just stay on the train for another stop? Can I amend it on the day?

Hello everyoneI am French and have a global pass to travel to the UK.I plan to use my outbound journey like this : from Paris to London and London to Liverpool. But Eurostar trains are opened for reservation 6 months in advance and I would like to make a reservation now for my Paris London, and I would like to make the reservation for London Liverpool later (it’s not possible now). Can the outbound journey with several trains  can be reserved in several times?The same question apply for the inbound journey: I want to do a Edinburg => London => Paris => Toulouse the same day. Can I book now my train London => Paris and book my Paris Toulouse later and that all of this is counted once on my inbound trip?Thank you!

For certain dates (London to Amsterdam) the Eurostar site says “Sorry, no trains are available on this date. This could be because the train is sold out, the service is not running, or because tickets are not yet on sale. Please try a different travel date, or check back later.”It’s quite important to know what the reason is - if the train is sold out or not running, fair enough, I’ll plan my visit for another date. But if tickets just aren’t on sale yet, I’d still like to plan my visit for that date and book as soon as tickets go on sale. Does anyone know how to find out? I have filled out a Eurostar query form but they sent me an irrelevant response and then closed the case!

I bought the pass through another site.I'm currently traveling and would like to make a reservation for a train, but the app doesn't display the reservation button.That's why I want to book through the website instead of the app.However, web reservations require me to have a pass and be logged into my account.So I just created a new account.However, I don't know how to link the newly created account with the pass I purchased on another site and have already started using.How can I connect in this case? Also, how can I make a reservation for the train?  I'm sorry if it's hard to read because it was written mainly using a translation app.

Is that normal that my reservation made on Eurail, which is now showing in my summary of reservations, has no indication of a link to any rail pass?  It seemed to pull information (class, passengers) from trip information but mentions nothing on the e-billet that I am a pass holder.

Hello: I am trying to help my parents plan their trip through France this summer.  I was looking into the reservation process and costs for certain trains and it seems that almost all the Nice to Paris trains say Pass not valid.  Similarly the two earliest trains from Annecy to Nice said Pass not valid. These dates were for June and aren't even on sale yet so they can't be sold out. Is it just the certain trains do not allow use of the EU rail pass? Thank you!

Maybe someone who has been to Spain in the last year or so can help me. I was able to get all my seat reservations from DB on paper. Can I just go to my train using the interrail pass and the reservation or do I have to trade the reservation in Spain into a different ticket of some sorts?

Hi! So I’m traveling in mid-april to Europe and I have an Eurail pass. The thing is, I incorrectly made reservations for a train leaving on 2/26 (didn’t check the date correctly, silly me). My question is, will a ticket reservation activate my Eurail pass? Or does that incorrect reservation simply gets lost in limbo, and I continue as usual with my (now correct) train reservation for mid-April?

Hi there,Does anyone know if there’s some quirk with the booking engine for booking EN trains?Last night I mapped out options on oebb.at for every possible destination (NJ & EN) from Zurich for a particular weekend (28th or 29th or 30th April) yesterday and later in the night agreed the plans with the others who are traveling.Tonight I went to book Zurich-Zagreb and it shows no availability at all for any of the 3 days.  Yesterday it showed availability for all.  Sleepers & couchettes for 29th & 30th and seats only for 28th.I know it’s possible that they all suddenly sold out in theory, but in practice it’s not exactly likely that there was a sudden rush for this particular train, for all of these days, in less than 24 hours.Is there some quirk like seats being taken back off the market and then being put back on?  Or is there some other explanation for this?Thanks,David

Hi everyone! I am trying to buy a ticket from Bucharest to Sofia (and also Sofia to Istanbul afterwards), both for me (with a Eurail global pass) and my son (who doesn’t have one). I’ve seen a couple of other people here trying to work out how to buy these tickets online, but they don’t seem to be available from the main national rail websites. Since we are on a fairly tight schedule, and need to book accomm. etc in advance (and not have any probs with full trains etc), we really want to try and book in advance. So the question is: did anyone manage to do this, and if so -- how? Any experiences or feedback gratefully recieved...the trip is for April (7-10) btw, and I would be happy to just book the tix without the Eurail pass if that’s easier. Thank you :)

Hi there we are travelling to Europe in April/May 2023 from Australia for our Honeymoon which was postponed from 2020. We have a 1st Class Eurail Pass and I am having trouble booking seat reservations for the following journeys: (IC143) Amsterdam Centraal - Berlin Hbf / 9:10 - 15:25 on 20/4/2023(EC360) Prague Hlavni Nadrazi - Munich Hbf / 7:43 - 13:18 on 28/4/2023 For the IC143 train, it allows me to get to the review page however states that it the journey is no longer available, this is also the case on the Bahn website and other times and dates. The EC360 train does not allow me to book seat reservations on any day, this is also the case on the Bahn website.Is anyone else having the same issues? Or am I attempting to book to early, I had no problems booking Berlin to Prague on the 26th of April. 

I’m trying to book a train reservation with my Eurail passes from Paris to Zurich on 5 July 2023.I can see the alternatives, it says I need a seat reservation, I’m happy to pay an extra fee, but I cant put the journey in the cart?
