Train connections & reservations

HiCan you still travel by interrail from London via Paris Zurich to Istanbul with a 15-day ticket? And how good is the Belgrade-Sofia connection? ..does this go directly? and in which trains do I have to make reservations? Does the train also stop in Ljubljana? and how about changing money does it all work locally in the respective countries?Thanks in advance if anyone can answer this.Maybe someone has already made this trip. I want to drive the red route. See picture

Help for a newbie please :) I am trying to book reservations for our upcoming trip and have got to the 'Place of issue - city' box on the interrail reservation system. On my passport, this is listed as IPS, and my partners says HMPO. I understand this is standard on UK passports. Should we enter this despite it not being a city, or try and find out which office issued them?

If anyone could assist me in booking train travel that would be superb!  I have the trip in the Eurail App Planner but cannot finalize and pay for the reservations in the planner.

On January 11, 2023, with a friend in Eurail pass, I took the train 1. from visp to milano centrale (08:33 -> 10:40) and 2. from Milano Centrale to Firenze S.M.N (11:10 -> 13:04). reserved a seat. I want to change the time of the first train and get a refund for the second train. I checked trenitalia's refund policy and they have rules that allow refunds and changes.

Hello all, I plan to travel form Bucarest to Istanbul with the Bosphorus Express the 5th of may And then from Istanbul to Bucarest the 10th of may. Do you know if the train will be running at those dates ? Seems like yes based on this :https://www.bdz.bg/en/a/sofia-istanbul-sofiaBut i would like a confirmation :) Thanks,Marc

We’re travelling from the UK to Italy this year. We used to be able to select our seats with Senior Global Passes but have now discovered this has all changed. We can’t use SNCF or Trenitalia to do this anymore. Why is this? Does anyone have any suggestions how to get round this? Thanks

Bonjour à tous et merci pour ce que vous faites et pour votre réactivité ☺️Je viens de me procurer un pass Interrail global 4 jours/ mois.  Je vais voyager avec mes deux enfants de 8 et 4 ans.Mon premier voyage c'est du 17/02 au 20/02.17/02 Lille- interlaken : j'ai déjà réservé 3 sièges , je les ai directement acheté sur interrail planeur, même s'il fallait payer 6 euro pour les 3 réservations c'était plus simple que la réservation sur SNCF.fr je n'avais pas trouvé de réduction Interrail et ça me proposait que le tarif plein.- Mon premier soucis et que les e-billets  que j'ai reçu uniquement sur ma boîte mail , n'apparaissent pas sur mon rail planeur , et je ne sais pas comment les associés à mon pass et les activités avant l'embarquement...pourtant ils disaient bien que j'allais les recevoir également dans my pass. .dois- je contacter interail par mail ?- Ma 2ieme question est que les prix du siège qui apparaît au début est différent de ce qu'on paye ..par exemple : Lille -interlaken.

Hello,I am total newbie here. What is the shortest way to travel from Finland to Malaga, Spain with train and no ferries if possible ?  Are there any routes from Finland to Spain without ferry but if not then what ferry? I want to know what type of Global Pass to include. Hello! I’m traveling through Europe from April to May, and I’m getting ready way ahead, and working on a schedule. My question is simple: I’ve understood how the global pass works and I already have the trips selected, I’m just about to reserve the seats.  My question is… How do train times work according to time zones?For example, on Sat. 22nd April, I will travel from London to Verona. One of the trains I’m reserving leaves London at 07:55h and arrives to Paris at 11:27h.  The thing is that Paris (and mostly the rest of Europe) timezone is +1 hour than the UK.  How does this affect my train times?  If the app says the train leaves at 07:55h, does it really leave at 06:55h (UK time) and I must do all the movements for security control and pasaport checks an hour before the schedule I’ve planned? I hope you can help me!

Hey there!Like others here, have beens stuggling with seat reservations throughout my travels and ended up having to book flights. Also that we have ended up on separate trains hours apart despite many spare seats on trains.Just reaching out to see if anyone can assist with any tips for getting from Amsterdam to London on Jan 3 for 2 people on class 2 global passes. Have been trying for months and looking like I might need to do a bus!Have tried the b.europe website and going into ticket office at train station.Many thanks for any tips or help 

Why can I not find the Paris (Austerlitz) to Nice night train to make reservations? It’s not available through the Rail Planner app, it’s not available in the Eurail reservation system and it doesn’t even come up when I try through the French SNCF website. Yet SNCF has a whole page devoted to the Paris to Nice night train, with train times and train numbers. This would appear to be a valid route -- why can I not find it and book it?(My plan is to travel only using night trains and this is supposed to be the very first leg of my journey. Frankly, this is not a great start if I can’t even book the first day of my trip.) Thank you.

Hi, I’m hoping to do the following route in June/July, through:Lisbon Madrid Barcelona Nice Florence Rome  NaplesLooking online, I can’t find train links between them all - I’m open to stop through other places along the way, these are just the ones I definitely want to stop by but I can't find any out of Lisbon, or from Spain into Italy. Could anyone suggest where I would find out what route/ trains are possible, as the ones on the rail map don’t then appear in the websites route searcher, and when I should book them? Is it that I need to buy the interrailing ticket and download the app first, or am I looking too early?Thank you!  

We are trying to book Eurostar Reservations on the Eurail Website. It asks for the money in dollars which is fine. But will not accept UK credit Cards. Anyone got a solution?

Good morning,Is it right that when you make a seat reservation for example Rotterdam - Barcelona that you have to wait voor 2 days if your request is accepted? I read this in a travel blog. Or do you know immediatly if you have the seats you want? Because after 2 days, all the other option are probably full.I hope anyone will let me know. 

Hallo! I have the Interrail app on my phone and on my iPad. And I accessed the rail planner at interrail.eu. I searched for trains from Oslo S to Stockholm Central on June 8. Result: one set of train schedules on my phone and at interrail.eu, another on my iPad. Phone and iPad are online, as is my MacBook. My iPad Planner shows a train at 10:10 and one at 14:10, both of which require one change of trains. My phone and the internet say I can either leave Oslo at 7:24 (4 changes!) or at 14:36 (3 changes). Has anyone had this problem? Can anyone explain to me what is going on? Thanks

I recently joined this group in the hope of connecting with fellow enthusiasts and to ask/answer questions related to European travel.I am looking for advice on the best way to get from Bucharest to Brasov.I am looking to travel from Edinburgh to Bucharest in October 2023. Obviously, a trip to Romania in October would not be complete without a trip to Brasov to see Dracula’s Castle (Castelul Bran).Would it be worth while purchasing an Interrail ticket to travel from Bucharest to Brasov and return on the same day or would it be cheaper for me to just purchase a train ticket on the day?Also, how frequent are the trains from Bucharest to Brasov?Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.Liam

Hi everyone, I’m new here :) I am planning a trip in June in Denmark / Sweden / Norway starting from Brussels.I kind of get stuck to find a good way to go from north Norway to the ouest without passing via Oslo? Is it doable ?In the planner, I don’t find a lot of connection in Norway. Anyone has tips on routes for this itinerary?Are all train travel in Norway included in the pass? So far i was thinking to do:Brussels - Copenhague (via Hamburg)Copenhague - StockholmStockholm - NarvikThen would like to stop at Bodo, Trondheim, Bergen, ….Then for the way back home form Oslo to  Brussels  (via Goteborg and Copenhague). Thanks in advance

 Hi, I'm getting an error message when trying to make a train reservation. It says "Not enough free reservations left for some travellers". What is this??!!

Hi all, I searched the timetable for London St Pancras to Amsterdam Centraal, 8:55am, 29/4/2023.  The whole trip includes 3 stops, I paid to reserve 2 seats on St Pancras to Bruxelles Midi, that was highlighted orange, with a cost, and received 2 emailed eTickets from Eurostar.  The legs from Bruxelles Midi to Breda, then Breda to Amsterdam Centraal (Thalys) were highlighted green, no reservation required, free to board.  Does that mean we will get a seat on the Thalys train from Bruxelles to Amsterdam, just by referencing our Global Pass number ? Thanks very much for your help, the Eurail site lacks some linking information in this area.    

Hi,i was trying to book a train from Kolding ( dk ) to Vaduz ( li ) on interrail.eu ( Vaduz train station does not  exist for them ) and on bahn.de ( tere were many possible trains to choose from, but after confirming our dates of birth I got a message that I can not buy the tickets from Deutsche Bahn, but at least Vaduz station exists for them) .We are 3 adults and a child ( 5 years old ).Why can I not buy these tickets?Any restriction for Danish citizens?Kind regards Jack 

I have my Europass , and have planned a trip from London to Amsterdam on the 25th September but can’t seem to reserve seats for my wife and I so then went to the other directed site sncb international which says Eurail Global Pass. is ok but then I still cant book a ticket , can someone advise what I am doing wrong
