Train connections & reservations

Hello,I need a pass cover number to make an urgent seat reservation (Eurostar) as soon as possible (date of the journey: 20/09/22). As I have read in this forum, I will need the Support to create one for me. I have already written the Support but since my journey starts a couple of days from now I don’t know if they will be able to reply in time.Many thanks in advance!

Hi,I’m trying to make a seat reservation for travel on the TGV Lyria over Christmas on the 22nd December. For journeys originating in Switzerland these tickets are now available (from oui.sncf or the CFF/SBB sites for direct booking), however on the Interrail seat reservation site I get the message that the train times are not available.   I tried the SNCB site but it doesn’t allow booking of TGV’s that originate outside of France.Is there a reason that these trains haven’t been loaded into the interrail booking engine, are you able to update it somehow?Thanks,kes1.

Hello!I am planning with my wife to interrail from UK to Portugal with mobile passes to meet up with our daughter near Porto over Xmas. The route includes Paris – Madrid, overnighting in San Sebastian. The problem is San Sebastian to Madrid, probably on 20 Dec. In theory I should be able to buy a reservation in San Sebastian after arriving on 19 Dec BUT (given what I see on the Renfe site for booking the 9.02am Alvia on Friday) I don’t think I can place any reliance on the Dec train not being sold out.It’s pretty important to all the other bookings I am likely to be making to be able to get this reservation – or the equivalent on the new Dec timetable.That’s background, the questions are:As soon as Dec timetable info is available can I get a friend in Spain to go into GRANADA station and buy reservations valid for interrail for us? Are the reservations pieces of paper to be sent by post or can they be emailed? If that is not possible, and with fingers crossed given what I see for curre

I have a global pass first class pass, I would like to cancel this seat reservation  from Paris to Zurich for October 7. It doesn’t state what refund I will get and tried looking at  SNCF policies on eurail website which takes me back to reservation overview page where it statesTo cancel a seat reservation, click on the trash can icon next to it. Cancelling a reservation will remove it for all travellers in your booking. After confirming, it might take a few minutes to see the changes in your account. We'll send you email updates on the status of your refund. All seat reservations are subject to the refund policy of the individual railway company – you can review this before confirming your cancellation. Booking fees are non-refundable  Will I get a full refund? I tried reaching out to eurail support but have not heard back yet. Can some one please answer this?  thanks

Hello fellow travelers, I find it hard to find trains for my connection. There are no Trains between Instanbul and Thessaloniki as far as I understood, do you have another suggestion how I can get there? Also, I want to go from Thessaloniki to Zürich directly. There is no conneciton shown, did anyone do this trip before? I thought either to take the ferry to Italy and go by train up. But there is again no train to the port where the ferrys leve. Or I could go by land but I dont unterstand the connection I would have to take then. Please help me :)  

Hai | Ich und mein Kollege haben evt vor nächsten Sommer wahrscheinlich August-Sept die Städte (Oslo2 Tage) (Stockholm 4T) (Kopenhagen 4T) und (Hamburg 4T) zu besuchen.  Dazu einige Fragen:Ich bin 28 und mein Kollege 27 habe gelesen gibt auch ein Skandinavien Pass aber der würde ja nicht in Frage kommen wäre die alternative Option 5 Tage in 1 MonatFahrplan habe ich geschaut, was gibt es für Zugempfehlungen von eurer Seite? Wo kann ich reservieren und wann günstiger? Sitzeplätze Reservierungspflichtig? | Nachtzug empfehlenswert? gibt es sonst noch für Bestimmungen oder sonst was zu beachten für die Reise durch Skandinavien?  würde mich sehr freuen über Rückmeldungen, Antworten Freundliche Grüsse Rebublic

Hi,I want to take the train between Goteborg and Oslo on September 17th (saturday) at 7:55.I found this train on the vy website, but i can't find it in the interrail app. I already called Entur, originally to get a train reservation, only to learn that this train doesn't need a reservation and with an interrail ticket i can hop on as i like.The problem is, I can't take a train which i cannot add in the interrail app.I've already read some similar questions on this platform, but i can't i add a train manually (it is a direct train, or maybe i am too dumb for this), and i am sure that this train is a train covered by the interrail global pass. Does anybody have a plan?Thanks in advance ;) 

Hi, this time I want to go to Italy. But I booked wrong date. So I canceled the ticket. But it looks like my reservation hasn't been canceled yet like the picture. How can I confirm that my seat has been canceled? Or do I not have to worry about this? I booked and canceled yesterday. Thank you for your reply in advance..

hi, i am travelling in a group of 4, consisting of 2 adults and 2 kids (6 and 12), and am thinking of booking the sleeper cabin with 3 beds. How do we make sure we can have the whole compartment to ourselves? or they will allocate 1 adult to another compartment? why am i unable to book after 9th Dec from Venice to Munich? Do i have to wait for a new timetable? are the sleeper cabins safe and clean for a family with kids, with locks from inside all working? Recent reviews on TripAdvisor makes us worriedthank you in advance!Jan

Hey!I am currently in Amsterdam, travelling with Interrail, Global Pass.Tomorrow I want to travel to Kopenhagen. Unfortunatly, I have to travel through germany. I used one of my two rides inside/outside my homecountry (Germany) for travelling to Amsterdam.As I have to travel back home, i have to use the second ride.Am I really supposed to buy an extra Ticket for all the way from Amsterdam to Kopenhagen???! I can't transver germany because i'm from.german? A direct train is also not available from Amsterdam to Kopenhagen. Maybe I could avoid the "Home Country Ride"Can you help me out? Its my first time travelling with Interrail, and I would be really disappointed if i have to buy that expensive extra Ticket!Thank you all!Cheers, Jonas

My wife and I have purchased a Euro rail global pass. I was trying to  book a train from Bergen to Stockholm via Oslo. The platform sends me to Rail Ninja for the  portion of the trip Bergen-Oslo.Do I need tp pay this portion even though I have the global pass?Thank you

Good day,  I am traveling on the NJ 469 train from Paris-Wein and I see on the itinerary that it briefly stops at several cities along the way. I assumed that a passenger is able to exit the train at any station and not ride it all the way to Vienna. Does the train actually stop and allow passengers to de-board?Thank you for any assistance you can provide.Best, Eric

As far as I can understand, website and app don’t work together so I would like to know if I can start making seat reservation (following the plan I’ve connected to the pass on the app) and later activate it, adding the ID and the date of departure. I’m asking this because I’ve linked the trip to my pass on the app, but I don’t see it on the website.Another question is the fact that I’d like to reserve seat also for my sister and I can add her as a traveler to my trip on the website, but again this is not visible on the app. So if I book the seats for both of us now, can we activate later separately the pass on the app?Thank you so much!

 I booked some seat reservations in September 12th , which cost 105euro. The fee was charged successfully but till now, I haven't received the ticket or confirmation via my email. Can you check it for me? I made two orders, the first order had issues as above, the second order was successful and had tickets delivered.

Hello,I have paid on the 5th of august reservation tickets from Barcelona to Lyon, departure 29th at 9h13. The tickets are on paper and not online. The payment is already from my account number, but I still have not received tickets. I also haven’t received an e-mail to confirm the booking, and it can not be found in my reservations on my interrail account. I want to contact interrail to receive conformation of the booking. And I want to change the address, because I am already traveling.    Who knows how I can contact interrail? Or other things I can do?Greetings,Kristoff

Hi there,I am trying to book a ticket for the superfast ferrie from Bari to Corfu. In order to get the discount I have to select the adult category 26-59, but I am only 20. When I select the young adults category I am not able to select the interrail pass by discounts. Does anybody know why? Or had the same problem? Should I just book the ticket under the adult category? I am just worried that I will have trouble when I board the ferrie because obviously my birthday date will be incorrect. I would be really grateful for some answers!Thank you, have a good Sunday 

We are part way through our trip and currently in Vienna. We want to spend a day in Budapest 13/9. The app indicated that we would need to reserve seats but when I go through the link to reserve it says that no reservation is needed? Should we just turn up without reservations?Thanks   

NEWBIE.I have read that the Railplanner app may not be up to date so i wondered if I get a reservation through Interrail or OBB etc  could I be 100% certain that the times on the reservation are correct.

Hi,I bought two months continuous interrail global pass and I have several questions. I read all the guides I guess, but something is still not so clear for me. Outbound journey is the journey from the place I live to the border and is the whole journey supposed to be outbound? When I change a train and to the border of Austria goes train from Brno and to Brno I get from Prostejov, so it is one journey in my domestic country. Is there any additional fee for trains high level like ICE, IC, EC in Switzerland, Germany or Austria? On Ceske drahy website, there was that information, that for example for railjet in Austria, I have to pay something extra. But in interrail app there is not any information like that. And when there is an additional fee, then it is so confusing, because I cannot find out the amount of the fee. I ask only because of the information on Ceske drahy website. Otherwise I checked the railplanner guide for Switzerland and there is that also Panoramatic trains like Bern

Hey just a heads up for anyone traveling in the south bohemia trains in Czech, there's only busses ran as rail replacements and I've been kicked off two without any reason other than 'no' after showing my interail ticket. Rail station staff and co-ordinators assure me it's valid but bus staff refuse to allow entry. I have no explanation other than miss communication. It's probably a mess you want to avoid until the rail is fixed.

I am due to travel outbound from UK to Brussels via Eurostar on 13 August, and have heard the train to London will not be running due to strikes. I believe I can only use my interrail pass for connecting journeys in my home country on the day that I catch the Eurostar. The cheapest we can travel to London the night before will cost us (family of 5) £253 plus accommodation. Is there any way to cover this, through interrail, the striking rail company or travel insurance? We don’t have reservations for the connecting journey as they are not required.
