Hi everyone, I want to travel from Paris to Mannheim with my Interrail Pass, and they say on my trip that it is needed to book a seat (started from 21 euros). The only thing i see is on the deutsche bahn website, where i can book a seat for only 5,5 euros. Is it the one i should book or should i see on another website? Thank you
My country of residence is Germany and I am planning the trip around IT and some other parts, but will start on Amsterdam. From Amsterdam On the first day I would use my outbound travel from my country or wish to do so. But then from Amsterdam I am heading to IT, the easiest and fastest way is to pass through Germany once again. If I do that, would I use my inbound ticket already? In general am I permitted to do this or how does it work? Could someone provide their experience?
Hello, I’m planning to go to Milano on November 1st, 2025, with my Interrail pass. But the 7:29am direct train is not yet available in the pass, and the info message is really unclear. Do you know if it’s gonna be available in the pass? If yes, when? Thank you!Elise
Hi there!I’m planning a round trip from Hungary to Toledo in a few months and I’m interested if Interrail worth the price for me. The first train would probably be an EuroNight train from Budapest to Zurich. It can be booked on jegy.mav.hu and on shop.oebbtickets.at, however when I check “seat reservation only”, both of these display the trains as ticket not available, no matter the date. But If I uncheck it, I could buy a ticket without a problem. Interrail website won’t let me see its booking page before actually buying the pass. So my problem is that I don’t know if I’ll be able to book a seat, what type of seat it will be and what will it cost, without actually buying the pass. Is there a way to know these information in advance? Thanks,Zoltan
Hi, I booked seats for tomorrow Paris-Brussels-Köln through Happyrail.com When I got the confirmation email I get the impression only seats Brussels-Koln are booked, but not Paris to Brussels train. It looks like this: Any idea?
Hi, we’re in Venice today and need to travel to Milan tomorrow. I’d rather not pay the additional fees for the train reservations which would cost up to €130 for the five of us (€13 per train leg and it changes in Bologna). We can go on regional trains via Verona at no cost - are there any other options for it to be a bit quicker and not incur the high cost? We have interail global 1st class passes. Thanks, Jon
Hello, i am new here, i searched the whole FAQ and asked the Bot, but did not find an answer to my question: seat reservation booking via interrail website with Hungary and Romania trains, i need e-ticket and not paper ticket For a paper ticket its too late, i plan to start my travel next week…So do i get an e-ticket from interrail website for seat reservation by travelling from Austria starting for 2 days from south Austria - Bucharest, travelling through Hungary, until Romania. There is no seat reservation neccessary until Budapest, on 2 trains i need seat reservation i know there are other ways to book seat reservation Thank you for any help Greetings Sascha
When i checked on google maps i was given suitable trains form start to end. However when i went to the eurail app these trains were not offered. Is there any way that i can add these trains and save the trip?
I have a 1st Class Interrail Global pass and want to reserve a seat on ICE9574 between Strasbourg and Paris. Neither interrail.eu nor Rail Europe offer it - they only offer 2nd class seats. However, this train starts from Stuttgart and 1st Class seats CAN be booked from either Stuttgart or from Karlsruhe to Paris - so there are very definitely 1st Class seats on the train that are available between Strasbourg and Paris but for some reason the booking engines do not allow a 1st Class reservation from Strasbourg. (Rail Europe doesn’t even allow a 1st Class ticket to be purchased from Strasbourg!)Is it legitimate for me to make a reservation from Karlsruhe to Paris and simply get on in Strasbourg? Can anything go wrong if I do this?
Hi,Trying to book seats for an ICE Amsterdam-Köln on the ÖBB app.I get the following message:"Reservation not possibleSorry, shared accommodation on the ICE 153 from Amsterdam Centraal to Köln Hbf is not possible for the passengers as requested."i tried to book without table, in a different part of the train. Every time I get this message. Try again, different app, or is the train just full...?Thanks!!

Hi all,I’m planning to travel on the Paris - Nice Intercités de Nuit on 8th September. I have a valid 1st class youth global pass and would like to reserve the 1st class (4 couchette) option. I have tried to reserve this using the Interrail booking system, Rail Europe, and B-Europe (as detailed in https://www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/tips-and-tricks/trains-europe/night-trains/intercites-de-nuit), however as soon as I get to the very last step of checking out I am greeted with an error message (see pictures below). I am able to reserve the 1st class on the following day, or 2nd class (6 couchette) on the desired day, with no problem. There are still 1st class seats available (as tickets, not reservations) on the SNCF Connect website, and I assume that those three reservation websites would either make it clear that this is sold out before entering all of your details or simply not list it as an option to reserve.Emailing these companies has not been much help, and I have been told
It appears as if I have made all of my train reservations with Eurail, but I am a resident in Europe and purchased an Interrail pass. Are these tickets invalid? Can I still use them? Is there anything that I can do?????????
We are traveling around Europe in October 2025 : Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Luxembourg, Belgium Netherlands. Several of the journeys have transfers and I am using 20 min as a filter. My question is what is a safe amount of time to allow for transfers?
I will be travelling in Scandinavia in September and got a 15 day Interrail pass. I will probably downgrade it to 10 days due to travel plan changes. However I have already booked seating reservations for trains in Sweden via SJ stating the pass number of my 15 day pass. In the reservation in the App it also states my pass number and there is no button to change it. Is it possible to just change the pass number on my reservations without paying extra? Thanks in advance for your help!
I am travelling tomorrow from Lyon to Nijmegen, but I have huge troubles finding a route. All the high speed trains towards Bruxelles from either Lyon or Paris are fully booked. Now I realize that is my mistake by not booking in advance. However, there are some other routes available but they just don’t pop up (for example Lyon-Paris-Lille-Bruxelles). If I would filter on no seat reservation, I am taking a crazy route that takes ages, so this does not work either. Is there any way to find the fastest route using the tool so that it only shows me trains that actually still have Interrail seats available? I think it is quite annoying that it does not show whether a route is even possible… Thanks in advance!!
HiI am travelling from Australia.I want to travel from Lake Como S.Giovanni (Italy) to Interlaken OST via Luzern (Switzerland).I have a First Class Eu rail Pass. I have purchased reservation from Lake Como S.Giovanni to Luzern on Euro City 178. However I am unable to reserve a seat on PE 2928 LUZERN-INTERLAKEN EXPRESS (Panorama Express) departing at 1406 from Luzern on EUrail Trip Planner.I am getting the following message:“Not available from Eurail.comThis seat reservation can’t be booked on our website. I am not seeing any night trains in the Eurail app. There are no Intercity Notte in Italy at all (e.g. Milan to Bari), and nothing from Paris to Nice. I also tried SCNF and trenitalia's sites but nothing came up. Are they all cancelled or am I missing something?
Hello,I would like to take the train from Belgrade to Bar this month. According to the Rail Planner, there is a day train departing from Beograd Centar at 09:45 and arriving in Bar at 21:10.My plan is to spend one night in Bar and take the return train at 09:00 the next morning, which is scheduled to arrive in Beograd Centar at 20:17.However, I'm a bit confused because I read in some articles that only the night train is operating. These articles are a bit outdated, so I'm not sure if that’s still the case.So my first question is: Is the day train currently running this month?Another point of confusion is that some sources mention the train does not depart from Beograd Centar, but from a different station in Belgrade. Could you please clarify whether the train actually departs from Beograd Centar, as shown in the Rail Planner? And finally, I’ve read that this train route is often heavily delayed. Given this, do you think my plan — taking the day train to Bar, spending one night there, a
Hello, I want to travel from Bucharest to Sofia this month. There is a train (IR 461) with mandatory seat reservation that departs at 10:11 from București Nord. The problem is that I have to take this train, and I will arrive in Bucharest one or two days beforehand. Is that enough time to get a seat reservation in person?
Hi, I’m setting off next week with a 7 days in one month global pass, and as part of the trip, I have booked a reservation to travel overnight from Zurich to Prague. This is a sleeper train as far as Linz, then a change around 6.30 for the train to Prague. Will this count as one travel day, because it was all booked together, or two travel days, because it’s two trains? If it counts as one travel day, then I’ve been alerted that engineering work means I may miss the connection I have reserved, but there are a couple of options later that will get me there with no reservation. I assume this definitely counts as a second travel day??Thanks!
We are due to travel today from Preston - London - Paris -Cannes but have had an email from Eurostar advising us not to. I presume I will lost my seat reservations and will have to rebook? There will belittle to nothing available if everyone gets pushed back a day. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions? If I travel to London that will use one of my “home” travel days so would I have to pay again?
I’ve got a reservation from Venezia S. Lucia via Milan P.Garibaldi to Paris Gare De Lyon on Sat 30th. This train stops in Verona. Can I just board the train in Verona instead of Venezia S. Lucia or do I need to change the reservation?
Hello! I’m trying to book a private sleeper compartment on a European Sleeper train. The Eurail app is not giving me the option to do this: I can pay for a reservation for a private sleeper on the European Sleeper web site.Do I need to select a 2nd class seat so that I can generate a train ticket, and then just use my sleeper reservation, or how do I do this without getting a fine for doing it incorrectly?Thank you!
We are travelling as a 6 next week (from 11th) around Italy and France. On the first day we have booked an overnight train and on the last day we have booked a fast train. On the other 3 days of travelling we are taking it easy and taking the day to travel on slow trains. Am I being naive by not booking trains for those days? I understand that not all trains can be booked but I don’t want to get caught without a train to get on.Any advice would be great.
