Train connections & reservations

Hello I’m gathering information for a trip I’m planning to take with my husband in late September into October - travelling from London, through France and into Spain and Portugal. We have global continuous passes (1 month). I know that there are some RENFE reservation issues but that one route to booking reservations is to go via DB phone line, armed with train numbers. I have the excellent European railway timetable which includes train numbers. Does anyone know if these will be the ones needed to book reservations (or is there a RENFE timetable change?) Does anyone know if all the trains can be booked now? I think some might not be available to book until neare the time but I am keen to book Eurostar both ways and the big France into Spain; Spain into France tickets before they sell out. Hello hive mind!I want to book a reservation for the TGV 9240 from Milano Porta Garibaldi to Chambéry-Challes-les-Eaux. When checking the pricing for the reservation at https://www.eurail.com/, a price of about 120$ is shown. For this price, I would be able to buy 2 normal tickets including a reservation. Why is the price so high? And does anyone have a recommendation for a cheaper option?

Hi I want to buy the 7 day pass but I couldn’t select the Wolfsburg station so I was wondering if you have a train station there or you don’t go to that destination

Hello. Recently I bought an e ticket for a route from Copenhagen to Hassleholm C but the one that was sent to my email did not have a QR code on it. Is that a problem? Because the other ones that I booked did have a QR code.

Ich will einen Sitzplatz reservieren. Die versand adresse ist eine andere als die rechnungs adresse. Sobald ich aber bei der versand adresse ein land auswähle ist es nicht mehr möglich weiter zu den Reisedetails zu kommen. Es wird auch keine Fehlermeldung angezeigt, sodass ich wüsste was das problem ist, sonder das feld um weiter zu den Reisedetails zu kommen ist einfach "ausgegraut".

Helloi could only get seat reservations from Brussels to CDG for my travel date. The site is then charging 23 euro for a 12 minute ride to Disneyland. Do I need reservations?

I’ll be starting my journey on the 14th of July with this itinerary (the one from 05:18 → 20:49). I’m unsure about the mandatory seat reservations on the 12:38 EC 59 from Berlin to Poznan and on the 15:45 TLK73100 from Poznan to Krakow.Should seat reservations for these be booked in advance? I’ve read that the best way to do it is locally at the station, but our stopovers are pretty short, so I doubt we’ll have time. I’ve read on intercity.pl that the tickets can be bought on the train for TLK, but there’s no mention of EC. Can anyone with experience in the area tell me if I should expect trains to be full, i.e. if I should book in advance? A friend of mine who’s just been in Poland with Interrail told me that she didn’t have time to book a seat reservation for her trips with mandatory seat reservations, but that it wasn’t a problem because no one asked to see a seat reservation.Lastly: while I’m able to book a seat reservation for the TLK to Krakow on cd.cz, I can’t seem to find a way

Bonjour,  J’ai pris un pass pour 3 journées sur 1 mois en France. Je tente déjà de comprendre comment réserver les places pour les différents train et je m’aperçois que les prix sont différents entre le site eurail et l’application. Comment cela se fait ?  Est-il possible de tout réserver via l’appli ?  Merci d’avance pour aide. 

Hello, can I book seat reservations for my trip at any sites? So when I go to sweden, then making reservations at the site of VY? I made some reservations at the station, but I need some more. The reservation site from interrail is quite confusing and expensive.Thanks a lotEnni

Hi, the Eurail pass is making me crazy! Planning ahead of time our trip to the South of France and imposible to Reserve Seat you cannot click there! And we are afraid that we have all hotels in the south but since we see everything is so booked up and full because of the dates, that we stay with nothing! Please help me figure this out! Somewhere I read that in France you can only reserve an hour before the trip!? But if so, do you really think that because of summer trains get sold out? It is risky to loose our flight back to America… but at the same time I do not want to loose the money we paid for this stupid pass that there is no place to call and so hard to use! please help 🙏🏽thxs, Alma

Hello,I want to take the train from Hamburg to Kolding tomorrow at 12:53 at IC 394. When I add the ticket to “my trip”, they say that there is no reservation necessary. But when I look at the reservation plattform from interrail, they say that seat reservations are necessary. So what is right? Is the reservation actually included or not? Thanks,Enni

Hello,From August 15th I will be traveling through Europe for the first time. I now have some questions about seat reservations. On August 15th, we want to travel from Almelo to Berlin. I want to book a seat reservations on the train of 14:45. I can add the reservation to my cart, fill in the traveller details and review my order, but at the last step of the booking I get the error ‘One of the legs of your journey is not available anymore. Please try searching for another connection’. When I try to book the same train at Bahn.de is seems to be possible. Also when booking at Interrail it costs € 16 (two persons and booking fee) and at Bahn.de it only costs € 9. This seems strange to me. My question: can I book via Bahn.de without any problems? I have exactly the same problem/error with a reservation from Wien Meidling to Utrecht Centraal. We are trying to get to Rome, Italy from Visp, Switzerland on July 2nd. Thanks to this community, I found the workaround on OEBB.AT and I can book the leg from Milano to Rome, but it won’t let me book the section from Visp to Milano. It keeps on saying “Ticket not Available”.  We have the Eurail ticket (ignore the German).  Even when I remove the Eurail discount, it still shows the ticket as not being available. Yet, when I look on ItaliaRail, I can book that segment. Why is that train not available for booking on OEBB.AT? (or anywhere outside of SBB or Italia Rail)? View when trying to book on OEBB.AT Same results when trying to book the full price ticket You can book it on Italia Rail

Dear Travellers, I am planning to travel from Basel to Utrecht. I want to take the OBB, but on the site of OBB i only can book a seat reservation or a ticket. Is a seat reservation only allowed, since i already have a interrail global pass? Or do i have to pay a ticket anyways? Kind Regards

Hello,I’m a first time user and am a little bit confused about the seat reservations. We have an unlimited pass for 30 days. I follow how to book day time trains, my confusion comes with night trains. Am I right to go to the individual train operator’s website and buy tickets (as if I didn’t have a pass at all) directly there?I ask because on the eurail.com website, when I search for a night train, there is no option to buy tickets in a sleeper cabin, only seat reservations. Please help!Chris 

Hi there, We are planning to travel to Spain in early July from the UK. Is the only way for us to book reservations before we arrive in Spain via phone or is there any other way?  Thanks:) 

I’m really scared because I haven’t been able to book a seat reservation from Paris to Amsterdam on the 8th of July. Does this mean we have to buy a full fare ticket?

Hello. When a trying set our travel plans, it shows NA for seat reservations. Does this mean there are no reservations available or that the price is undetermined.  We have the global pass. 

It seems to be impossible to make reservations for Scotrail trains. Glasgow-Oban and Inverness-Edinburgh through ACP Rail services and GWR both are not possible. From their website It seems that Scotrail automatically makes a reservation if you buy a ticket in advance. If that is the case the number of Interrail reservations will be very limited if any.Solutions?

Hello, fellow travellers!I need to book two seats for the train below (SNCF IC Night 5772 on Monday 4th July). I tried to book it on many sources and not a single one of them works. Eurail doesn´t show prices, SNCF webpage and Omio and Trainline are not able to book only seat or to apply a Interrail discount. Travel-b-europe webpage is unable to find Marseille Blancarde station (so it doesn´t show this train at all, since it´s not TGV). Have any of you got any reccomendation how to book this train? I´m getting pretty desperate at this moment.Thanks a lot for any answer! <3Marie 

Hello,I am planning to travel to Turkey from France in the beginning of July for a wedding. This is my first experience with Eurail so please bear with me if I am slow understanding things..Right now I am having problems making a reservation for a train (2 adults) from Budapest to Bucarest, where I cannot proceed to checkout because it’s too short-noticed for the tickets to be sent.The earliest I can book would be 15th of august and I would receive the tickets on August 5th, (and they ask 9€ for shipment).Obviously this is not an option for me, and I thought by making reservations 3 weeks in advance I would be over-safe, even with the 5 business days delay that’s been warned about elsewhere on the website :(How is this possible? Can anyone give me advice on how to book this ticket?Also as this is only part of the whole trip, I hope I won’t be having problems of this type for all reservations.Thanks a lot in advance.

My friends and I are travelling from Ljubljana to Split and have to get a 25 min train from Dobova to Zagreb on the way which requires a seat reservation but it is sold out. Will we be allowed to stand on the train for 25mins or will we be denied entry onto the train?
