Train connections & reservations

Hello! Thank you for anyone engaging with this forum post, any input will be super helpful! The following routes are ones which do not need reservations within my group’s trip. We are travelling throughout July: Bern to Vienna Vienna to Ljubljlana  Lake Bled to Zagreb However, I was wondering if anyone knew how busy these routes would be in early-mid July and whether you think reservations would be helpful? Thank you so much for any input!!  

Hello! I plan to travel through Eurail next month for the first time. I have purchased a global eurail pass.However, I am having issues making seat reservations to Paris from England, and from Paris to Barcelona.When attempting to make seat reservations through the rail planner app, no prices are available for my desired travel times.How do I make reservations if the rail planner app or the eurail website  won’t allow me to do so?Also, I won’t be in Europe until the end of this month, so I wont be able to visit a train station to make a reservation. I would like to make reservations for these trains as soon as possible.  

We booked euro rail pass. Trying to reserve seat but it’s asking for cover number. As we book through mobile there aren’t any cover number available. How do we sort out this situation? 

We have 7 day 1st Class Flexible Eurail passes. We are traveling with friends and booked our reservations for the Eurostar train from Lille to London separately. Our parties were assigned different coaches so we decided to and were able to change our seat reservations on the Eurostar website with no problems. However, we never received an email from Eurostar and our mobile passes have not been automatically updated. We’re not traveling until September. I tried using the help chats on both the Eurail and Eurostar websites with no luck. Any suggestions on resolving this issue are appreciated.

I would like to know for sure which seats are nice at the window, so that you have a nice view.I've attached a link from seat61, in the hope that you can tell me which seat numbers look nice on the window.I go for seats that face each other, for 2 people. And which are located in the normal business class, so NOT in the quiet zone. SEAT61 map  Additional question :We travel from Roma Termini to Milan Central.Can someone tell me which side of the train is best for the best views?Because in wagon 2 the seats that are opposite each other are on the right side. And in wagon 3 these seats are on the left.Of course it also depends on the direction of travel of the train, but I have absolutely no idea about that.Thank you very much!

When I bought the paper ticket for the Global Pass. How long do I have to wait for it to arrive?

I am trying to book a return trip from London to Paris. Of course, very frustrating because very limited seat reservation availability. It keeps showing that there is availability for this return but then becomes unavailable when it is the order review. Any suggestions? 

Hello, I have a problem during the reservation for a train from Innsbruck to Bologna.When I am on the page to verify my informations, my mobile ticket switches automaticaly to a paper ticket and it tells me that it should arrive on the 4th of july. However, I will already be gone by this date. Also I would really prefer a mobile ticket.Is it normal?Thank you for the response,Chloé

Hi, Me and my friend who I'm going interrailing with discussed last night which trains we would take from our home town (Roosendaal, in the south of Nehterlands) to Paris and the train from Paris to Barcelona. For both routes, there was one option still avaible for us to take the day we wanted to travel. My friends booked her reservations last night, but when I tried to do it, it gave an error message a bit further in my shopping kart. So I decided to try again this morning, however now both reservations I wanted to make are completely booked full and so are all the other trains that same day. I've already booked the hostels so it is quite important to travel that day. Plus my friend already has her reservations.  I am kind of freaking out a bit right now and do not really know what to do. Is there any possibility of making a reservation elsewhere than the interrail site? Or does anybody have any tips on how to get from one destination to the other in a different way?

My wife and I have spent 10+ hours trying to book our trains for a trip leaving in 6 days and one of the legs apparently cannot be booked. BUT IT DOES NOT SAY WHICH ONE! We are beyond frustrated and have reworked the trip 6 times now and all legs show available until we try to check out. Then I get this error and cannot figure out which one is causing the issue. HELP! PLEASE!

My wife and I bought a 3-day Eurail Pass for France, and for the day we have been trying reserve seats on both Eurail’s Rail planner app and their official website for Paris to Nice on 27 June 2022 Monday morning. Try as we might, even though the app and the site shows that there was an option before we logged in, but the moment we use our pass to try and book the option disappears. I suspect that the 10 Euro reserved seats are not available anymore.However, when we selected the option to book via another way, it pointed us to another website (travel.b-europe.com) that allows us to see that there ARE seats for the same train that can be reserved, with 20 Euros fee. We are happy to take that option, but then it asked us to key in the ‘pass cover number’ which only appears on paper tickets.Questions:can we still somehow secure the 20 Euro-priced seats, even though we have digital tickets? if yes, what’s the best way to reserve them?

Hello!I have a problem that I can’t seem to find the solution to. I’m going from Paris-Madrid in July and it is obligated to buy seat reservations. Since that’s not possible on the app, I called Deutsche Bahn but they said I can only do that in France. Than I also called French railway and you can’t buy reservations without american express that I don’t have. I really need to make this reservation quick since I’ scared that there won’t be any seats left. Does anyone have any idea please?

Will be travelling from Bucharest to Budapest - night train- coming from UAE - postal service fairly non-existent. Any suggestions for booking seats? Will there be availability if I wait until I get into Bucharest and go to train counter on the day - 7th July? Also will be travelling onwards so postal delivery not compatable - can I use the email confirmation ? 

Hello everyone, When I am booking a TGV in France, there is no option to change the age, as I am 24 years old and the site only has this option from 26 to 59.Is there a problem with booking like this? Thank you.

I am travelling in Norway with Eurail pass in late July and August. I want to make a reservation for the train from Voss to Bergen on July 29 and from Trondheim to Oslo on Aug. 11. The Rail Planner tells me there are not trains available for these trips. I saw something about replacement buses -- are there buses for these trips? Do I need to make reservations for the buses? Also, does my eurail pass cover these replacement buses?  I have tried calling Entur but I wait on hold for long periods and then the line goes dead.

Dear all,For our trip Brussels Malaga with 2 children and 2 adults we have managed to book all seat reservations now, however we had to use all different channels (DB Reiseservice, sncf hotline, our extended family in Spain going to the train station…). Thanks for all the super advice already here on the community which helped a lot.I still have one issue though as the reservation done through sncf have spelling mistakes (f instead of s 2x in my family name and the one of the kids). Basically one could still deduct that it’s us, but it’s not the same. Does anybody have a recent experience whether this is being controlled? Shall I contact sncf to cancel and re-issue? bests,Elisabeth

I am very confused about Eurail….So in my travel from France to Italy ...the first leg says no reservation needed….then the middle leg needs a seat (so I reserved and paid for one) and then the last leg said the pass seats were gone so I went to Italian rail line and paid for the full price seat.But….what about that first leg?? I have no reservation..it’s not even possible...so what if I show up there and can’t get on the train because it’s full….then the seats go to waste that I’ve paid for for the 2nd and 3rd leg??? :(I feel like even if the seat is free we should have a way to hold a spot or something? Am I missing something?? 

Hi,I am doing an interrail with my friend. We have bought passes and we want to go from Paris to Nice. We cant make seat reservations for the train? Can we still travel on that train with our passes without seat reservations or can we make them there in the train?Thank you in advance!Heikki H     

I’m trying to book reservations on this site for high speed trains between multiple Italian cities for late September  and early October but I don’t see the high speed trains listed on this site.  I can see them on other sites.  Why can’t I book them here?  Thank you in advance for your help.  

I have booked seat reservation from Rome to Milan. I would like to change the time of the reservation. Is it possible to change reservation time free of charge?

I can’t book my reservations on the train I want. When I have filled in all the information and want to go to the next step after filling in where I was born, the page does not work. I get a exclamation mark in the middle of the page, or the page does not respond in any way. I have tested refreshing the page, do the reservations again both in my computer and my mobile. 

I purchased 4 seats and I only received 3 tickets. It might be because my son and I have the same name.

I want to book seat reservation but at the end of the booking process the website is doing nothing. In the website inspector its throws an error(im study informatik).So i cant book seats for the trains this means my Interrail-Pass is usless.They have no so support number so i have to write to the community. Interrail sucks.

Is het mogelijk om van Londen naar Broadstairs (Kent) te reizen? Hello everyone,I have a question concerning the seat reservations in Spain. On the internet it says that it‘s not possible to make these online. But since I‘ll be travelling this July, so during the holiday season I am concerned that I won‘t get a place on some trains. Does anyone have experiences with this and can tell me if there is a way to book the seats in advance or whether it‘s just not risky to book them at the train station? Thanks,Anne
