Train connections & reservations

Hi,  I have created a journey from Amsterdam to Brussels (without reservation) and Brussels to Paris Euro Star (with reservation using b-europe.com) for today.  Unfortunately there is strike in Amsterdam today so I am not able to take the train to reach Brussels.. now my reservation for which I paid 116 euro ( for 2 adults and 2 kids) are going waste as I am not able to reach brussels today afternoon.I connected with customer care of SNCB (b-europe) and they said that your reservation can not be refunded and also can not be changed because you have not done booking with us for your previous connection (from asmsterda to brussels)EU rail team says that we also can not do anything as you have not done the reservation on our portal.  This is really pity and eurail is creating confusion by giving option to allow people to do reservation through different provider. Even If I apply for refund for delayed or cancelled journey, I will not get refund of 116 euro. and neither there is a possibil

I just noticed our seat reservation AMS-Zurich (July 21) got canceled and refunded (night jet) this was the start of our holiday, so the rest of our two week journey kind of depends on it. Any advice how to make sure we will get there in time (hopefully with night jet couchet).

Plus de places assises reservables sur le site DB Navigator entre Hambourg et Copenhague, impossible d'entrer le numéro des pass InterRail sur le site SJ pour réserver des sieges. Il reste le train de nuit Hambourg Stockholm en sièges inclinables à 57,60€ pour nous 3 sur le site InterRail. Si je prends les billets sur Internet est-ce que l'on peut choisir les places pour être côte à côte ? Encore merci pour vos conseils.

Hi.I managed to book the seat reservations for my Interrail trip for the routes in Spain and France, except the ones in Portugal because I’ve been told i can only reserve them via a counter there.But between Montpellier and Stuttgart i couldn’t buy a reservation. My train would normally leave July the fifth via Marne la Valley Chessy. Ive tried raileurope.com and happyrail.com but for both it isn’t possible for that specific route. Does anyone have another idea to help me out? Thanks in advance.

Where can I find a list of guaranteed Italian trains on June 20th? I understand there's a Nationwide strike but some trains are guaranteed to run. I am specifically looking for Fr9628 from Rome to Milan at 1120 am and Ec18 from Milan to zurich at 1510 on June 20. I also bought seat reservations through Rail Europe on those routes, so would there be any possibility of getting my seat reservation money back if those trains do not run and if so is that through rail Europe or the Italy train company? Hi! I am travelling from Switzerland to Italy at the end of June and am struggling to book the seat reservation for the journey from Domodossola to Milano Centrale because the journey is on rail replacement bus and not an actual train. I cannot book the seat reservation through the Eurail website, and have not been able to find other ways to book it either. I’m assuming I am qualified to take this journey as a pass holder, but I worry that without seat reservation, I won't be able to in the case that the bus is full. Does anyone know how or where I can reserve seats? Preferably online as well, but if not, in person will do as I will be in Switzerland for a few days before going to Italy. Thank you!!

Last year we used our Global first class Eurail pass to travel from Paris to Collioure - this year we wanted to do the same!!! travelling from Paris to Sete on the same train - the intercities de nuit 5741 but it now says that it’s not valid for our Global first class Eurarail pass!!! is this correct? has there been a change in the last 12 months?

Will the Italy train strike affect the nightjet from vienna to rome? Have ticket for Sunday evening June 15, arriving 10:05 am in Rome on June 16.

Dear community,I am about to book seats for my journey from Lille to Luxembourg. From the RP app it shows seat reservations required for trains from Brussel Midi to Brussel Nord then from Nord to Luxembourg, meanwhile on the website it shows “You are ready to board” - I assume this means when you add it to your trip you can hop on that train without booking. I normally use website to make the seat reservation, and from the App it is redirected to the website as well. A bit confused about which instruction I am following please?T.I.Axo Rui 

Traveling June 20 from St. Lazare to Bayeux. From previous posts it appears Eurail passes don’t work on these regional trains? Also it appears we don’t need reservations on these trains? Just checking. Last post from from a while ago and wanted to see if anyone had updated info. Train sites a little confusing.

I have bought an Interrail passholder fare for TGV9577 Paris Est - Karlsruhe. Due to a change in timetable I need to extend my journey to finish in Munich.Can I:Extend the passholder fare that I already have to cover the new destination? OR Buy a separate seat reservation for the Karlsruhe / Munich section? (Ideally booking the same seat so I don’t have to move...)A timetable search indicates that a seat reservation for this service from Karlsruhe to Munich is actually optional. Is that correct?(Further details in case they matter: travelling on a second glass global interrail pass. This is for a family of 5, so keeping the same seats would be *really* helpful!) Thanks!

Hi! Can I show my QR code at the train station even if the ticket is required? I am unsure how it works and it says that my e ticket isnt available for that type of train

HiI am trying to upload my reservations onto the various apps.  the SNCB one is not recognizing the DNR.  is this going to cause me problems?I have the paper copy of the ticket thanks  

I’m planning to travel to Sicily in june and want to take the night train back from Siracusa to Milan on june 24. However, when looking for availability on raileurope or italiarail, thay can't sell me a reservation for this train on that day. When going to the Trenitalia website, it shows that the train is running, bus not being bookable. Does anyone know why this might be the case? Engineering works? On the dates before and after june 24 the train is bookable, but only couchettes, sleepers are not available. This is the case for the whole of june and a large part of may. It seems that may 14 is the last day for which a sleeper compartment can be bought. Are these completely axed from the Milan - Sicily route during the summer?

Hello, i am new to European train travel but i have a trip to Italy booked in August. The first leg of my trip is taking me from Milan to Rome on 23rd August, but when i search for the journey the train i want (08:30 from Milan Centrale) is showing along with the seat reservation costs but when i click to book i get the below message:"No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable."I find it hard to beleive that these seats have aold out, as they have only just become available, after months of checking. I am also positive that it is not something i am doing at my end as i have successfully managed to book other journeys from Rome to Naples and Naples to Florence.  Can anybody offer any assistance?  

I am traveling Rome-NL today. From Milano to Lugano I take the 12.43 RE 25518. I didn't book seats because when I researched this trip no seat reservation was required. And now it shows up that I should book them. Tried ÖBB and Bahn.de but they will not let me book them...I have 20 mins of transfer time in Milano. When I cannot get on that train it will be a disaster for my trip. Help me out please...!! 

I booked a train from Barcelona Sant at 8.25 am and I would like to change it to 13.25 to Madrid Can I change my reservation?  

Hi. I am visiting London at the end of June and was planning on doing a day trip to Paris. On the Eurorail app on my phone it shows me the train I would like to take from London to Paris on the day I would like to go and says that reservations are required and there are limited seats for pass holders. When I look on the app it tells me the price of the reservations and leads me to booking them but I cannot book them on my phone. Although, when I pull the same train up from the website on my computer it tells me that “No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.” When I look at other places to check availability I cannot find the train either. Does this mean simply mean I am out of luck and there is no way for me to make a reservation? The eurorail app on my phone which, I have been using to plan my travel, makes it seem like there are reservations available

I have been planning my August interrailing trip (my first time) starting on the website (because of bigger screen) and then adding them all again on the app (it doesn’t seem to want to sync between the two).One journey I looked at on 9 Aug. leave Paris Est at 10.54 and get to Gengenbach at 13.48 shows on the website that I need a reservation from Paris to Strasbourg (no surprise there). On the web the next two stages of the journey, Strasbourg to Offenburg, Offenburg to Gengenbach show as ‘you are ready to board’. On the app however it says I need reservations for the next 2 stages as well.Which is the correct one and how do I know?There are several of these instances in my itinery but I thought one example was enough.Thanks!

Hello i have interrail Spain one country pass and i need to go tomorrow from Valencia to Alicante. Seat reservation is mandatory but I can’t do it because once i go to “book my seat” in the app it says 404 error page not found. How can i fix this please

Hi, I‘ve planend the Route Forums Interrail Trip a now it’s time to book the seat reservations. I remember that I bought them at the counter in my local train station here in Germany before, but the last time they said they dont do that anymore for Interrail seat reservations. In my route are trains in Portugal, Spain and France. For some the App only lists off the possibility to buy the reservations in person at train stations, for some it says i can buy them via their Eurail Website but when i click that link it always says 404 Page not found.I’d appreciate some help what’s the safest and easiest way to buy the reservations for my trip now so i dont get any problems or unnessecary stress during ,y trip.Thanks in advance.

Hello,I bought a Pass, valid for August but when I try to book seats, it shows “your pass isn’t valid on this date” (whether I log in or not). How it can be possible and how to fix that? Meanwhile, I am trying to book via direct sites (trains Hamburg Copenhagen / Copenhagen / Stockholm / Hambrug) but the sites show that the prices informations are unvailable ; does it means I have to wait a few more weeks until it’s available ? Thanks ! 

Hi,I’m planning my first interrailing trip for this summer for my family, and could use some advise on seat reservations please.We are a group of 8, 4 of us having an interrail pass, 4 having an eurail pass as they live in China. 2 members of the group do not speak or understand English so they are reliant on being sat with those of us who can translate. I need to book seat reservations on some journeys, including Eurostar and TGV. My understanding is that if I book 4 seats with an interrail pass indicated, and make a separate reservation for the 4 people using an eurail pass, that it is unlikely to seat us all together. Does it actually matter if instead of splitting the group into 2 groups of 4 to make reservations, I make the seat reservations for 8 people in one reservation indicating that we all have an interrail pass, when 4 of us have an eurail pass?Thanks for any advice!
