Train connections & reservations

I've been on the Eurail site and cannot figure out how to book seats for my clients traveling to Europe this summer. I added the Eurail pass, which they really don't want. But it seems necessary to book seats.  Is this correct? Also, it tells me to add Passenger info and I cannot figure out where or how. Is there a person I can speak with at Eurail please?

I (18 years old) want to go to Valencia with my mother, she said that the plane was easier but I want to travel with high-speed rail for many reasons (relaxed, better seats, no airport hussle, great views when traveling, less carbon emmissions, etc). Since the normal tickets are €800 for Amsterdam-Barcelona and Barcelona-Amsterdam I think interrail for 4 days is the best option.The planned dates are:june 23 Amsterdam-Paris and Paris-Barcelonajune 24 Barcelona-Valenciajune 27 Valencia-Barcelonajune 28 Barcelona-Paris and Paris-Amsterdam Now for the reservations, Im a bit confused.I think I can make reservations for Amsterdam-Paris and Paris-Barcelona (and return) with the reservation tool from Interrail but it also says somewhere that you need to do it up to 90 days in advance, its only 50 days until our trip. So can I still make reservations? And are they digital or paper?  Now for Barcelona-Valencia (and return) it seems that you can only get reservations at a trainstation in Spain. S

Hi! I’m in Split, Croatia at the moment. My plan is to get from here to Greece before taking a ferry to Italy. The problem is that I can’t find any reasonable (train)connections from Croatia and to Greece. Apparently there aren’t any international trains from/to Greece at the moment but I’m also having difficult time trying to find trains from Croatia to any other direction than north to Budapest and Ljubljana for example. So, how can I get from Croatia to Greece. It doesn’t have to be direct connection as I don’t have any spesific plans and am more than happy to visit other neighbouring countries as well! Hi, I am trying to book an overnight seat reservation from Sighisoara, Romania to Budapest, Hungary on 2nd June, evening. Unfortunately, the only option I have is for a paper ticket which will be delivered to my home address after we have left the country!!!Is there anyway around this? The romanian train line website is down for me :( Thanks,

From what I understand, pretty much every train operated by Renfe requires a reservation with the exception of REGIONAL trains like the commuter lines around major cities. However, I noticed that there are some long distance lines that are REG EXP trains. Would these be the same as REGIONAL trains in that they don’t require a reservation? Example:18214 REG.EXP. From Leon to Palencia18105 REG.EXP. From Palencia to Santander The Eurail website doesn’t mention these types of trains, only that AVE/ALVIA/AVANT/MD require reservations.  

I made seat reservation from Venice to Florence.  I booked the wrong station in Venice and need to change from Mestre to Venezia Santa Lucia.  It shows it is non-refundable.  Is there a way to just do a exchange to the other station without loosing my 66euros?  Sonal

I may have left it too late to book Eurostar  reservations for early June returning from Paris to London: the reservations page says 'no information'.  Is it possible to buy last minute reservations at the station in Paris, maybe as a result of passenger cancellations? 

Hey guys, I would like to know if it´s possible to use a night train at the first day to get out of my own country. The problem is, that the train is still inside of my country at 00:01 next day. So I spend one day without going out of my country, which should be disallowed by the rules of Interrail. Otherwise, I saw that night train trips cost only one day (the day of departure), so it should be allowed. Maybe someone can help me to remove my confusion. :D

Hello, as the booking for the high speed trains was hell, i am thinking of taking the regional trains back however i somehow cant find the connections. Isnt there a train through the Pyrenees which doesnt need reservation? Best Anne

Hi Interrailers! I have a question about two seat reservations between Lyon-Barcelona and Barcelona-Valencia  - I can see that other travellers had similar problems with seat reservations on these routes.I called RENFE (Spanish Train Operator) and they told me that it is not possible to make seat reservations for these trains online (wtf) and that you HAVE to reserve seats at a physical train station. That is problematic because I have a 6 hour train ride beforehand from Zürich to Lyon, and it would be stupid to show up in Lyon if the train is fully booked - and again stupid to show up in Barcelona later that day if that is fully booked(:      Do you know a way around to reserve online? Or do you know if I can reserve seats from an Austrian train station? Or if my friend in Spain can make the seat reservation for me and then send me the reservation with email?Stay safe! Allan

I want to book a paper ticket from Valence TGV to Barcelona on 21st of August. If I want to try it, I receive a notification that the ticket will not arrive in time and that I have to go to an European train station. I went to Amsterdam Centraal and they said at the international office that they do not sell tickets from France to Spain. I've added the notification in Dutch below. How can I still make the reservation for this trip? Interesting to note is that I ordered another paper ticket and I received this within a week. So if this is the average speed of the delivery of the paper tickets, my ticket would still be arriving in time before I will leave… However, the website does not allow me to take the risk and order the paper ticket anyway.  

Trying to find a way to book my seat on the highspeed train from Barcelona Sants to paris on Saturday 7th May but having no luck? says book at the station but we will not be there until the day of travel? Any guidance welcome! 

Hi! Me and some friends are planning a trip this summer and everything is going fine but one detail. We’re trying to book seat reservations for a train between Prague and Warsaw on June 19th but can’t because “prices unavailable”. Does anyone know why we can’t book it? Is it already fully booked? I booked a Global Interail pass for myself and another for my child to go from Paris to the south of Spain and return. I had done many simulations and saw that the return journey from the country of departure to the country of destination was included in the pass. But as soon as I want to book to go from Paris to Barcelona, I am asked to pay 34 euros per passenger ( or 68 euros extra. Please confirm if the first Paris-Barcelona ticket is included or not.

Hello everyone,I've bought an Interrail Global Pass for 3 July - 10 July. I want to travel from Amsterdam to Prague and later from Prague to Munich, and from Munich back to Amsterdam.However, there is one thing i don't understand. The website of the Deutsche Bahn says a reservation is required for every high speed rail as well as night trains. The travel plan of the Interrail website tells me i do not need to book a reservation, but that it is possible to do so.However, i cannot add any train journey to the cart. The ‘add to cart’ button is not clickable: Am i too late for booking? I have not received my pass yet, but i will get it within two weeks. Thank you in advance, Kind regards

We have bought an Interrail pass to move between Spain and Portugal this summer. We took the mobile pass option. We went to the train station to buy the seat reservation necessary for high speed train in Spain. They have advised in addition to the ticket, we must have the trip registered in the app. But some trains do not appear in the app… can we add them manually? Another option: can we get a paper pass if we already got the mobile pass? thank you!

While booking train reservations for my Global Pass, the ‘continue to traveler details’ button does not work at all, even after I filled in all the information required. I think the button is broken. Can anyone help? This is a Milan Centrale - Venezia S. Lucia journey. 

Family of 6 traveling through France and Italy in July. We purchased Eurail Global Mobile Passes. We are unable to reserve seats without our Pass Cover Numbers. If anyone could be of assistance, as my emails have gone unanswered, we would greatly appreciate it! Thank you in advance.

Hi, My friend and I have booked some trains for our trip. When booking, for example, we clicked on one for 7am. I’ve just looked at the e-tickets and it says 6am.  I understand there are different time zones however, these countries are an hour ahead of the UK so why has it gone back an hour? Just very confused. Thank you

I bought an interrail pass.I downloaded the  interrail appI made an account for interrail.eu.I have a trip in My trip ( a trip in Norway)Then I go to the reservation system to make the reservation for this trip. And it is not possible, because it says: you have no trip.What is wrong?

Hello! I am having trouble booking the train from Vienna to Split (EN 1153), as it appears that it is not possible to make a reservation. “Prices temporarly unaviable”Is this because it is still too early to buy them? Or are they already sold out? Or do I have to buy them elsewhere?I would be very grateful for any comments that someone had on this route. 

My partner and I have had to cancel a Spanish Interrail trip and rebook other European destinations, due to the dishonesty of EU Rail. Booking seat reservations in Spain is ridiculously complicated (you either have to be in the country at a specific station, or try to navigate the phone system to order a paper ticket ).Also, we calculated that seat reservations for a first class pass are extremely expensive -almost equivalent to buying news passes each! And the fact that many RENFE staff apparently DON’T recognise the EUrail mobile pass is worrying.WHY are RENFE even still part of EU Rail, when you can’t book seat reservations by email and they are disinterested in EURail customers?What is the point in using a fist class EU rail pass, where seat reservations are an added, extra financial cost?We are extremely unhappy, as we were looking forward to visiting Spain, but the apathy of EURail and RENFE have crushed this dream.

Hi there,I have just purchased a One-Month global continuous pass. I am looking to do a ferry trip from Valencia - Ibiza however when I am on the Direct Ferry website, I am unable to locate anywhere to input my interrail pass of which the website states that it covers ferrys or at least discounts them. If you would be able to give me some feedback would be much appreciated as need to keep costs down.If anyone knows how to make these reservations with the pass?And roughly how much this would cost? Many Thanks

Hi! I recently purchased a Eurail pass and I was planning to make several overnight trips. However, I am quite confused wrt to making seat reservations on the OBB website. I have quite a bit of confusion regarding “one-way tickets” vs “seat only”. I have already purchased seat reservations for all legs of the journey for 3Euros each, apart from the Nightjet train(which I could not make a seat reservation) but I am unsure if I need a one-way ticket instead.
