Train connections & reservations

Hi there,I bought 2 One Country Passes for France for my girlfriend and I. In the Rail Planner app I could activate the pass for our journey from Lausanne (CH) to Bordeaux (FR) meaning it is valid for this route (1. screenshot). However, when I try to book our (mandatory!) seat reservations on the interrail website, it says that our passes are somehow not valid on the first train but only on the second (2. screenshot)This is really frustraiting and I really hope that someone can help me out.1:2: 

I’m trying to use the rail planner app to reserve tickets with a mobile pass and in most cases it says that I can only book these in person. Does this mean as soon as I get to Europe (my stop will be Munich), I have to go to a ticket office and reserve the tickets there and hope they have some free?

Dear sir or madam,Hi my name is Jihyun Gong, i just purchase a eurail pass with my friend.We made a plan with rail planner app delightly, but some issues we faced.First, after add some schedule list in ‘my trip’, and turn on yellow slice button, and we didn’t get confirm email.And we found some notice  ‘ seat reservations required’. But when we click that schedule, we couldn’t find to pay.So we entered a eurail website with my computer, and added my schedules, and cart some schedule for pay. But some schedule, like paris to venice ticket, couldn’t pay directly. So I enter another site to get a seat reservation, but that price was different with eurail pass’s price. We have a mobile ticket, no paper. And our journey will start 15th, april. Hi, would anyone know information about getting on the train from Gard Du Nord to Bruxelles? Do you present your ticket before boarding or onboard? We can’t find anyone with information for Interrail or travel at all. Some help would be great

Dear community,I have an urgent question. I read that it is possible to travel spontaneously with interrail. I bought a pass and want to travel from Munich to Cambridge tomorrow and from Cambridge to Vannes on sunday. THe planner showed several connections. But the reservation tool not. There is actually no bookable connection as it seems for both journeys.How can I realize my travel plans? Is the reservation tool not connected to the planner? (WHY???)Thank you for your help.

Hello  I just bought my first interrrail ticket and want to book a tgv from Brussels to Marseille. According to the interrrail platform it was indicated that the TGV line should be taken for this route but that additional fees will be charged for booking a place. Ok. But no way to book the tickets or get information from scnf (I called there for more than an hour to get the specialist that does not know about it and tells me to go onside to a French station to ask the question... Well I do not live in France) or sncb (the indicated phone number to ask the question for international transport is not working...) if I buy FOR SURE the tickets on Day of departure at the trainstation…So here is my question : did someone else experience this and how did you solve the issue?Because if I have to pay a separate ticket for a tgv then I have been confused by the interrrail plateform and I cannot use my Global Pass... 

If I look Interrail Rail Planner September time tables and seat reservations for Strasbourg-Bayonne (direct connections or via Paris) I can see trains that do not exist at sncf-connect or bahn.com. I can not believe that  seat reservations for interrail are possible before normal tickets are available.What is the source for up-to-date September time tables in France?

Hi travelers!  This summer, me and my brother are going on a trip to Spain and Portugal. On our 5th travel day we would like to take the night train from Madrid to Lisbon. We know this train exists, but cannot find any available reservation options. Does anyone have experience taking this night train? I have a mobile Eurail pass with the rail planner app. This is a 5 days in 1 month if that matters. I have booked my train reservations through the Eurail website, and so I have those papers printed and in my email, they all have barcodes. Then, within my Eurail rail planner app, I have those same ticket times I booked, and they are in “my trip”. Do I toggle those for travel days to add to my pass, and then that barcode in the app is scanned to confirm my Eurail pass, then I have to show the email ticket for them to scan to confirm I have a seat reservation? And do I use that mobile barcode to get through gates in the train stations?I just want a play by play of the boarding process. So - arrive at station, use mobile barcode for that travel day to scan and get through the gates, board train, the ticket person comes around and needs to scan both my phones mobile barcode, AND the other barcode that I received when I purchased seat reservations? Correct?hope this was clear, thank you!

HI, me and my girlfriend are trying to organize an interrail travel from milan to Bodoe (norway) and we want to start travelling on the 15 of june. But on the interrail app or website the timetables of the trains are not updated so we cant make our reservations. We try to look for examole the train from Milan to basel and on the Trenitalia website the time table is already updated. So how we can do to organize our travel?Thank you.

Hi everyone my boyfriend and I recently bought the 4 day global pass and one of the trips we are trying to book is a route that goes from Barcelona to Amsterdam on May 29th. All routes on rail planner that go from Barcelona to Amsterdam require us to stop in Paris first. We are able to book the train from Barcelona to Paris but all trains from Paris to Amsterdam on that same day say “seat reservation unavailable” and “prices temporarily unavailable”. My first thought was that it is sold out but do train reservation really sell out that fast when we are this far ahead from the trip? If so that's fine but I wish Eurail offer alternate routes that goes from Barcelona to Amsterdam. 

Hey peepz,this is my first interrail journey. I want to to visit Italy.I want to take the night train from Bologna (Intercitynotte 35075, departure: 23:10) to Lecce (arrival: 9:00).I would like to reserve a place in a couchette car. These tickets are bookable on trenitalia.com but i cannot find a single option on the eurail reservation tool.Can someone help me?Regards from Leipzigaangespeeld

The Eurail system tells me that I need a reservation for the EC from Munich to Bologna. But at the main station at Munich they tell me that I do not need it. Since I want to travel the 11th of April it is to late to make the reservation via the Eurail system. So what do I do? Did anyone already take that train? The same is for the way back….

How far away is the train station from the international airport in Madrid ?Should I stay overnight in the city or closer to the station?  My flight comes in at 9am and I would continue with the train to Malaga. But only if the train station not too far away. Can someone answer that? 

How do I make seat reservations on Trenitalia as it does not come up on the app or website?

Hi,we are from Germany, have got two Interrail global passes and want to travel through Europe. On our way out, we plan to visit town A in Germany. Town A is not located on the way directly from our home town to the border, but it would absolutely be possible to travel from our home town to town A and then to the border on one day, our outbound journey day. Is this possible or is it not allowed to take other ways in one’s home country from the home town to the border and v. v. than the direct one?Thanks for your answers :-) 

I’m from the United States and brand new at this. I’m investigating the possibility of a train trip from Rome back eventually to London.  I have not purchased any passes yet or anything. Just investigating routes etc.   My first attempt was a leg from Rome to Venice on 8/22, using the ‘Book reservations’ from the Eurail site and I found NO reservations available.  As I started looking more I found I had to go back to early June (there may have been something later that I missed).        Is this really a shortage/unavailability?  Or did just just happen to hit a window where these are not posted yet?  (I’ve read other comments in the community recently about this issue).As I said, I’m investigating and don’t want to get into a situation where I have the pass, but can’t get where i want to, when I want to.    Thx in advance for any help

Hi,Last week, I tried to make reservations for 4 seats in the TGV from Nice to Aix-en-provence on May 30th, but couldn’t get any response although I clicked “1st class seat euro10”.Does it mean that the seats are already fully booked?Thanks for answers in advance.

https://www.eurail.com/en/book-reservations/new-reservation-timetable gives a server error or 404 as of 01.04.2022. I need to make a reservation. Is there another page where I can do this?

I am planning to go through Spain on an Interail trip however the rail planner app is not very helpful. Almost any trip that I enter in Spain does not appear.

Hi! I have not received any refund for the reservations I withdrew from. I withdrew a week beforehand and followed the guidelines on the website. It is now already 2,5 weeks ago so the 6 working days. Any tips?

We will be travelling on June 18th from Basel to Paris. We will have to change trains in Mulhouse, in the train table it says we have 12 minutes between trains. We will travel with a toddler, so we are a bit slower. Is there any possibility to see on which track the train arrives and where the next one leaves?

We are planning a trip to London starting from Florence but with interrail eurail planner it seems that the costs of seats reservation is nearly the same of full ticket…our trip should be: Florence- lyon- mulhouse- Paris- London- Paris- Florence what do you suggest?
