Train connections & reservations

Many people say that it is cheaper to use these websites than the interrail one, but how is it done?

I have the eurorailpass and have problems using the app for bookings from Porto to Toledo or Madrid to Paris.  

Is there an issue with booking Prague to Vienna beginning of June?On both OBB and CZ sites, it gives me these below. I was able to book Vienna to Prague on May 29th.  

Hi there, Currently there is no route listed between Sofia and Belgrade.  I saw someone mentioned the route was closed 8 months ago due to covid but can't find any information since.   Is this still the case?  If so would someone be able to direct me towards a way to get from Sofia to Belgrade.   All the best :)

Hey!I'm trying to book the OEBB night train from Munich to Rome on the 9th of April (depart 20:10), but the seat booking system gives me the error “seat reservations unavailable”. A similar error occurs for virtually all other night trains on this track for the next two weeks. When I try to book with OEBB directly, their website indicates “no prices available”.Do these messages mean that all of these night trains are sold out, or is there rather an error in the booking system. Any advice on how to still transport myself from Munich to Rome on the 9th of April?Cheers!

I‘m currently trying to book a reservation for a train. They asked me for my country of birth. I can‘t choose the country I‘m from. I have the German Citizenship but I was not born in Europe. What can I do??I need to use the train tommorow. 

I am not able to book a reservation for this journey (screenshot attached). The website for reservations looks slightly different from what it was a few days ago. Is there a problem with the website that will be fixed soon? My journey is coming up and I need a reservation. I’m travelling from Italy to Germany on a OBB Nightjet train. Is there another way to book the reservation? Reservations are not available on the OBB website even when Eurail website shows ‘high availability of seats’ 

I am trying to use the reservation tool on the eurail website.  I am not able to make a reservation for any high speed train from Rome to Italy on 6/30/22.  There is only one option that shows up which is an overnight local train with a transfer.

How can I know if it is profitable to buy the pass, if they are going to charge me extras later?

Hello,Going from Berlin to Amsterdam in June. A reservation is recommended, but not required. Is it a good idea to book a seat? If we do not reserve a seat, will we still be able to find a seat once we board the train? That is, does a ticket guarantee a seat, or do they sell more tickets than there are seats available?Thank you!

hiya! me and a friend just bought an interrail pass that we are planning to use throughout July... I'm very confused : we've started planning trains as we know July will be extremely busy, but a. cannot find where to book our seat reservations / how we say that we are taking a specific train, and b. a lot of trains that I found looking at the UK Trainline website arent available on the Interrail journey planner? (I've checked if interrail covers the specific train lines we were looking at and they do) - what do i do?

Just purchased a 5 day global pass. Headed from Venice to Paris we’re changing trains in Florence. The connecting train says “not in plan network “ Do I need to purchase a new ticket or is there just a fee added to my global pass?thanks 

@Nanja Hey there :) As my boyfriend and I both have a mobile pass, we do not have a pass cover number. Unfortunately, we need to enter the pass cover number to book our seats for a train from Strasbourg to Paris. We cannot continue without the pass cover number so could you please give us 2 pass cover numbers so that we can book our seats?Thank you in advance!Best wishes,Marie

Dear I need an information if I have the global pass and I want to take the Eurostar from London to Paris, shall I have to pay the reservation too?

I know that's a very frequent question but i Search and couldn't find the answer... sorry for the inconvenience...So i bought my pass for Italy...If the Train that i have choose to travel DOESN'T need reservations for seats what am i doing... Going to the station find the Train hop in and find dome empty seats?And if i m asked for a ticket i dhow them my pass?or do. I have to go earlier to the station desk and show them my pass to give me tickets? thank you

In Hauts-de-France, some TER are operated with TGV trains, labelled as TERGV, which require a supplement on normal TER tickets. In the Railplanner, not all of these connections show up, and those that do, seem not to require a supplement with Interrail passes. My questions:1. do these trains require a supplement for IR passes?2. is there a reason why not all connections are included in the Railplanner?

How do you malke a reservation on eurostar with rail pass, I can't see how to add the rail pass as a discount . Thank you

I have eurail passes for my wife and I and want to make seat reservations for several trips while in Italy.  Is there any way to see the actual seats you want to reserve, or do they just get randomly chosen for you?  We've traveled extensively in Germany and we have always been able to choose the actual seats we want.  Thanks for any help, Dennis 

Hey all, We are struggling to find out how to make a reservation by Italiarail or Trenitalia using the globalpass, this for a train journey from Zuerich to Firenze. How is this done? I only end up with the full price tickets, can you help me?Thanks!
