Train connections & reservations

Hi! I’m planning a trip through Europe. I want to take a train from Berlin to Copenhagen, with a change in Hamburg at 23:56. If the previous train is not in time and I have to take the next train on the next day, does it count as 2 days of travel, or the travel day refers at the scheduled time?

Hello I'm trying to reserve our seat from Berlin to Amsterdam on May 25, 2022 around 10:38 AM either direct or 1 change over. However, the reservation site states I have to find another connection??? Is it too early to reserve train seats right now? Thanks for looking!

Hello,I have a 2nd class Interrail pass and was wondering how I would go along with reserving a 1st class ticket on the Glacier Express. On their website the reservations is the same price as the 2nd class reservation (CHF49). 

hi, i would need help for my onward connection to final destination (Munich).  My initially booked reservation from London 1104am to Midi Brussels 205pm (Eurostar ES9126) Midi Brussels 225pm to Cologne 405pm (ICE17) - booked via DB Cologne to Dusseldorf (RE26879) Dusseldorf 1127pm to Munich 24th Mar 603am (ICE 619)  - booked via DBHowever, now that i missed my train and got rebook onto next train leaving London at 304pm and arriving Midi Brussles at 605pm. Is there a possibility that i can be taking the trains shown in the photo without having to pay for any extra fees? Also this would mean that my reservation fee for ICE17 will be wasted ? Lastly, any tips on how early should i be arriving at the train station for trains in Germany & Paris ? 

Hi there,I´m planning a multistop trip from Spain to Germany. I´ve already bought a Pass, and could make all reservations except for one, from Hendaye to Paris with a TGV. For that connection I find: “ No price results were found for this connection. Please try searching again or find an alternative way to book”. The problem is, I cannot find any other alternative way to book the reservation, at least not a reasonable. I called today to SNCF, and they explicitely told me, it is not possible to buy seat reservations online, and also not at the phone. They said I must come to a french train station… which I can´t really believe…I won´t be in france until exactly the day of beginning my journey, and the missing seat reservation is for the first train I would need…. so it would be really risky to wait until minutes before departure to go in person to the service at the station and ask for buying the seat reservation. That is really risky. If that doesn´t work, I lost the following connecti

Hello, I am trying to book a Night Train from Nice to Paris, when I select the train it says “Seat availability unknown” and it doesn’t let me finish the purchase. What does it mean? How can I book it?

Dear all  This Saturday I am planning to go from Lille (France) to Barcelona (Spain) with my interrail pass. There is a change of trains in Lyon. For Lille-Lyon I can make my reservations for seats online, for Lyon-Barcelona I cannot - this needs to happen by post 6 days prior to departure (for which I am too late) or in a station. I live in Belgium, and here the local railway service (NMBS) does not provide seat reservation for trains to Barcelona (I really don’t understand why??). My solution is to go on Saturday to Lille (France) early enough and hope that it still will be possible to make reservations for my train from Lyon to Barcelona on that same day. Is there anyone who knows if this is possible? And whether I can check prior to departure whether there are still enough places free?Thank you in advance! Karel 

Hi, I’ve booked the trip on the app London St Pancras 08:16 to Amsterdam Central 13:11 (direct) on 13 June 22, but when I go to the Interrail website to book seat reservations, this particular train is not showing. I can see earlier or later trains (none of which are direct) - why would this be, and how can I book seat reservations on this Eurostar train? Thanks

Hi, I‘m currently in Carcasonne.As my next step I want to go to Barcelona, which is possible via a train from Narbonne. Problem is, the reservation for it costs 34€.My question is if it possible to get in the train without a reservation, it‘s a Tgv and it would be no problem for me to not have a seat during the ride.So if i show them just my interrail app with this trip, would this be enough, or do you HAVE to pay for the reservation.Thanks for the answer :)

Hello fellow interrailers.Me and my boyfriend both won interrail passes through the discover eu competition, and we are traveling as a group. I got my pass before him, and added a journey in the app,  a Nightjet train from Muenchen HBF to Roma Termini on 13th of June, with OEBBs NJ 295 train. We bought tickets for a sleeper cabin as well. Now when my boyfriend tries to add this journey to his travel plans in the rail planner app, it does not show up. Another similar OEBB train does, but it has a change of trains in Villach HBF and the train number is NJ 40295, and then in Villach it changes to train NJ 40233. The tickets we bought, and the journey that still shows up in my app, does not have any changes. Is it the same train? Does our train not show up because it is fully booked? What should we do?  PLEASE help us. Kindest RegardsMira

How does this work for trains that require reservations? I’m trying to reserve a train in Italy and the trip is not listed in Eurail. I added it manually as indicated in the post, but I know that this train is a high-speed train that will need a reservation. Is it possible to reserve ahead for manual trips?

We are planning our Interrail route for June this year, but neither the Interrail app nor Deutsche Bahn seem to have these in their schedules yet. Our trip is only three months away - anyone know when they’ll go online / how else we can book these reservations?

Bonjour !J’organise actuellement mon voyage avec interail mais une fois tous les trajets sélectionnés ,vérifié et les information demandé rempli impossible de passer au paiement (Le bouton est grisé). J’ai essayé sur mon téléphone et sur mon ordinateur en changeant de navigateur mais le problème persiste, j’ai du mal à comprendre pourquoi car je n’ai pas d'information sur la raison pour laquelle je ne peux finaliser et payer les réservations des sièges.Est ce quelqu’un pourrait m’aider ?

Hi, I would like to visit Spain and Portugal and see on the website that there is a suggested tour of this (Iberian Adventure). However, I can't find any train rides between these cities of this suggested trip (in the train planner).  As indicated, you can travel between Madrid and Vigo, but I can't find any train journeys in the planner….In addition, I can't find any train times between Madrid and Santiago de Compostela, even though this is indicated on your railway map.  Furthermore, there are no journeys between Madrid and Lisbon, which is also indicated in the railway map. How can I travel within Spain and Portugal?

Hey everyone !I am planning my very first Interrail in May 2022 and I also want to travel from Stavanger to Bergen, Norway. I quickly noticed that taking the bus on this route is way more efficient than the train. The bus would be this one: Linje NW400 Stavanger–Haugesund–BergenDoes anyone know if this bus is somehow included into my pass ? I won the Interrail Global Pass thanks to DiscoverEU program. I would like to book an Italian Frecciarossa train (from Turin to Paris) but the self-service system doesn't allow me to (screenshot below). I checked alternative ways to book the train and I'm confused about the information that I found (photo below). I have a mobile pass. If I understand correctly, I can't book the train with Italiarail with a mobile pass? Why is that? I found my train on ItaliaRail (photo below) Do I have any other option to book this ticket with a mobile pass at a discounted price? Or do I have to book it at full price (35€) at the Italian train booking website (trenitalia.com)? 

I would like to travel by train from Florence Italy (early October) to Zurich Switzerland. Are there any direct trains? If no what trains do you take? We will have luggage are there limits, we will have two bags each. What is the cost?

I’d like to book a reservation from Brussels to Amsterdam but I can’t get an option to buy a ticket for the time I’d like to go. I’d like to take the 9:52 from Brussels MIDI to Amsterdam centraal At 11:44 but as you can see I can’t buy a ticket  I will attach photos to explain further. For the options I can buy reservations for; I can’t find those times on the Interrail app to add them to it anyone know something that could help?    

Hello all, nice to see such a lively forum here!I just spent 4 hours searching very desperately: we are a group of seven people and we want to go from Paris to Avignon on April 13. The departure must be after 11:30 in the morning.Unfortunately, the reservation app does not say if it is a technical error or there are no reservations available. But the TGV does not seem to be bookable.Now my question: does anyone know of a connection between Paris and Avignon on the regional express, and how do we get a reservation. Even if we did not need one, we can stand somewhere and set in the train.I know these are trivial questions, but I also searched different platforms and did not find a concrete answer.Or does it make sense to just go to a travel agency and ask? Have any of you done this tour before?Would be really really grateful for an answer. Thank you so much 

Hi, I have a question. I bought interrail tickets for this year and at the time of purchase I downloaded the app and was able to see all of the trains between each destination and was able to plan it out. This was about 2 months ago. Now however when I try to look up train times for July nothing is available and the train times only go as far as May. I was wondering why this is happening as it was working when I first got the tickets but now I can’t check for July. Looking forward to hearing from you. 

I couldn’t find an overview of booking fees when buying reservations/supplements for various trains. Next to online platforms, it seems that local train operators charge different fees when buying reservation at a customer service center. Does such an overview exist? If not, please add info below, ideally with an online reference. It would be great if Eurail can aid in compiling/correcting such a list.NOTE: This is not about the reservations/supplements themselves, which are well documented. Online platforms:Interrail/Eurail reservation service: 2 € per seat b-europe (domestic TGV): 4 € per bookingTrain operators (online / local customer service):DB: Germany - France (TGV/ICE): 3 € per seat
