Train connections & reservations

Bonjour, J'ai un pass global Interrail. J'ai réservé un train de nuit en couchette sur le site d'OBB pour aller de Bâle à Berlin le 02/03/2025. Je ne retrouve pas ce trajet sur l'application Interrail pour valider une journée de voyage, est-ce que mon ticket de réservation reçu par mail ainsi que mon pass suffisent ? Si non, comment dois-je m'y prendre ?

HiSome of you may have seen a post ref from me - unable to book night train. This has now been resolved thanks to response from this community.BrendanDB - gave a very good insight in terms of day and night journey. Which has now got me thinking , in terms of if I should do this during day or night now.As it stands our plan and thought process is as per :Night train - 8th May - Oslo to Bergen stay 1 night in Bergen Return leg - Bergen to Mydral - During DAY time ) Mydral to Flam - day time Depending on how train times works out . Either stay for 1 night in Flam or catch a return train from Flam to Mydral and from there back to Oslo ( ideally during day time)Just wish to ask the community your thoughts on  this ?Our thoughts - Night journey  1 way and do day journey on the return legAre the view any different/better from Bergen to Oslo, as oppose from Oslo to Bergen

I HAVE A PAPER PASS NOT A MOBILE PASS.  HOW AM I GUARANTEED A SEAT ON A TRAIN IF THE JOURNEY DOES NOT REQUIRE A RESERVATION?  I AM TRAVELING IN FRANCE 

Hello everyoneI purchased several seat reservations for Spanish AVE and Alvia trains via the Interrail reservation service and happyrail.com. By accident, I put the Interrail mobile pass number instead of my personal ID number in the field while booking through happyrail.Would that be a problem while boarding the train? Or is there a possibility to change this wrong information?I also need to do some reservations for regional trains (Santiago - Vigo, Vigo - Porto, Badajoz - Merida, Merida - Sevilla), which aren’t possible to book online. Has anyone already tried to buy a regular ticket for these trains and change it later to a seat reservation only at the ticket office in Spain?

HiI need some help. I am planning to travel from Oslo to Bergen.There is a train that leaves Oslo at 23.03hrs from Oslo. in May /2025I have 1st class pass.When I go to the app , it tells me I need to make a reservation. and 1st class freeBut it does not let me book it.If i select 2nd class - 2 Class - cost 16 Euro.Can somebody pls assist me. Does this mean my 1st class pass does not work on this train and I have to take 2nd class  ?? Bit confusedappreciate if somebody could enlighten me.

Do I need a seat reservation for that journey? in OBB there are no seats or reservation is not necessary? In a eurail it does not say anything about whether this route needs a seat reservation. On trains in Austria they always ask me to reserve a seat, I have Eurail first class, only for my first class do I need a reservation?

Im planning to travel from Geneva To Naples on 15th May.Could anyone suggest a route with mimimal reservations fees?I know it'll l be a very long day and would prefer not to arrive too late.Thanks

I’ll be travelling this August (Sunday 31st) from Aumale to Paris and then onto Gloucestershire via London.Ideally I don’t want to get into London too late as I know Sunday timetables often get delayed etc on the line from London to Stroud. Do you think this (below) is enough time?I can’t leave Aumale before midday: I’m toying with getting a taxi from Aumale to Beauvais then the train from there to Paris (I have to get a taxi from my accommodation to Aumale train station anyway).There only seem to be trains from Beauvais to Paris every two hours - do they increase the frequency in the summer by any chance? SUNDAY 31st AUGUSTAumale depart: 13:14Beauvais arrive: 14:12Beauvais dep: 14:40Paris arr: 15:57Paris dep: 17:02London arr: 18:30London dep: 19:30Stroud arr: 20:59 Thanks in advance! 

Hello, I’ve plan the itinary I want to do, and now I would like to book the tickets. But I don’t understand how the platform works. For example, when I look at the maps, they say that Bari and Brindisi are linked by a train, but when I go to book a trip and the train available, it always says that it is not available.  What should I do ? Should I see directly with the train lines ? How to you usally proceed ? Thank you very much for your help.  Ambre

Hi eveyone! This is the first time I have used an Interrail pass. I’m much looking forward to it!I have a Global Pass.  I want to reserve a seat for a journey from Vienna to Brussels. I know the train/s on which I want to travel. I have found the section of the ÖBB website where I can reserve the seats. The Interrail instructions tell me to “go to the ÖBB website or use their app, select your travel details, choose "Interrail/Eurail" as your pass type, and then select the desired train and seat reservation option to add it to your booking”. I have completed the first two of these steps but I cannot find where to choose ‘Interrail/Eurail’. I have scrolled down the page and scoured the website. I can’t find anywhere to chose m Pass Type. Can you please help?

I have checked the rail planner app, and Rail Europe.Railplanner states £6 reservation fee for all trains from Sunderland to London.However rail europe states no reservation required.This has confused me, and Im wondering how to log the journey as free.

I'm travelling from zurich to prague on 27 March 25 but have been unable to make any reservation on any of the apps/ sites for the direct night train ( leaving zurich at 19.56 arriving prague 09.13am the next morning .I understand that this is possibly because the seats have sold out however will I be able to just board the train on the off chance that I can find a seat or worst case sit on baggage on floor? I have a 15 day in 2 month interrail global pass but my itinerary is tight on days so don't really want to use more days than absolutely necessary please help 

How do I start my trip planning on the Eurail app?I would like to be able to stop at many different places along the way

Hallo,Ich habe meine Interrailreise um einen Tag vorverlegt: Ich habe meinen Pass deaktiviert und für das neue Datum aktiviert. Ich kann jedoch für dieses neue Datum keine Reservationen vornehmen. Das System sagt mir, mein Pass sei an diesem Tag nicht gültig. In der App sehe ich jedoch, dass mein Pass für diesen Tag gültig ist. In einem anderen Forum hiess es, man müsse ein paar Tage warten. Es ist jetzt vier Tage seither und ich kann immer noch nicht für den Abreisetag reservieren. Danke für jede Hilfe. 

HiIm trying to reserve seats from Nice to Paris on 12th July and thre are no options.  I have gone back a few days and it the same thing. when i clickon a train it goes form being available to not being available. I went on the SNCF website and it says something about Urban travel Im confused as I booked Paris to Nice on the 27th June okany ideas?? thanks

Hi,I am planning to go in roumania for the summer and I am checking if it is interesting to buy an interrail pass. But I cannot figure out if we can book beds in night trains, for exemple from cluj to Suceava, or Suceava o Bucharest. I did not buy my pass yet, and when I select the train, they only offer first class or second class seats, and not beds. Is it possible ?

Hello, I’m looking to book a reservation from Paris to Zurich but the SNCF site only seems to allow reservations nationally, within France. Any advice about booking reservations across borders would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Nick

If I purchase an Interrail 7 day pass does this include the Eurostar from London to Brussels and are seat reservations needed or are they included?

Hi fellow-travelers, Me and my family have been enjoying interrailing for the last two years. We are making new plans for this year. Either just Italy again (this time try to reach the south with Bari or Brindisi) or Zagreb and northern Italy.  I started looking for the Nightjet to Innsbruck and found NJ421 that leaves from Amersfoort in the Netherlands, our country. But if I look correctly reservation of a 4 persons couchette om 19-7 will cost us € 224,60 (see screenshots) besides the Interrail ticket. Is that correct? We have done this the last two years, but this keeps on getting more and more expensive…If anyone has any tips, happy to hear them. Thanks!  Hanno

Hello, I already have my Eurail pass, but I have not reserved a seat, if I do not reserve a seat to travel from Rome to Florence or from Florence to Verona or from Verona to Milan, do they let me board the train or is it mandatory to reserve the seat so that I can board? The train is from the Frecciarossa company

I am travelling to Europe on 14 mayI am trying to book a ticket from Sunderland to London to start my trip.The journeys appear on the Rail Europe website, with no reservation fee, but I am unable to select a journey and book it. I want the 6:46 oneI read that even if no reservation is required, the journey still has to be booked.Can anyone help me with where I am going wrong, please? 

I booked seats on a nightjet by the interrail app. But how can I make sure, that these are beds and not seats? Or how should I have booked it that it are beds and not seats?Thanks for your help.

Hi I’m travelling with my partner and our 2 kids from stockholm to lulea and back by nigth train.Is it possible to reserve a full 6 compartment (meaning 2 beds “left free”) ? for how much is it possible if we have a 4 days pass ? I know it’s possible to reserve a full 2nd class 6 beds compartment on the SJ website for a price, but not sure with interrail.Thanks a lot for any answer !
