Why can’t I book optional seat reservations on the eurail app

For some reason I am unable to do a bike reservation for trains crossing the Alps. For example EC67 from Bazel SBB to Milano.  DB (also app)  say that price is unknown. With Trenitalia it is not possible to reserve for a bike without a personal ticket. Any experience in this? How to communicate with Trenitalia (I already did) that I do not need an additional personal ticket. Btw, does the 3,5 euro ticket one can buy with a Trenitalia ticket guarantee a place on the train for by bike?Many thanks for your time!

how can book a train if it shows "you're ready to board"?everyone tells me  if  i added the trip on my passthen just take the train without a reservation,though the ticket with the seat reservation is shown,but the ticket without the seat reservation is not shown.then how can i added "ready to board trip" on my pass

This is my first time taking a night train so wanting to be sure I am looking at this correctly.  Planning to take the night train (EN 476 Metropol / 406) from Bratislava to Krakow Glowny in mid April 2025.  Not available to book yet so I tried one less than 60 days out (mid February) to get an idea of the cost.  Departs Bratislava at 21:58 with an hour stop at Breclav (the train number changes but you don’t changes trains).  I entered 2x Adult 65 years and older / Eurail Global Pass in a 2-person sleeper compartment and it returned a price of 1702 CZK, which is about $70 USD.  Was hoping someone who has done this before (using the Czech Railways website) can verify I did this correctly and this is the actual price or if I am missing something.  Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, my plan was to travel to Scotland this winter break with my interrail pass.To make it to Scotland, I have to crosse the gap between Belgium and the UK with the train.The only trains riding this gap however are from Eurostar. I can’t afford the expensive seat reservation which the interrail app tells me are necessary.so my question is, are the seat reservations for Eurostar between Brussels and London crucial? please let me know 🙏 

Hi! I am new to using the train network in Europe and had a couple questions~I have bought some seat reservations from Vienna → Hallstatt through OBB and realised the same trip doesn’t show on the Eurrail app. I know I should add it manually, but when I do, should I add the two legs of the journey separately, or just the overall journey? Knowing that there are slightly different journeys on country websites like OBB vs Eurrail app, which one should I trust? Should I be constantly checking if the same train I booked on OBB still exists? I don’t want to be missing a train just because the times from my ticket I bought a month ago don’t line up with the real times.  I’m a bit confused about the ticket system. I have seat reservations, so do I have to print out the tickets from the confirmation email to board? And ontop of this, do I also have to activate the journey on my Eurrail app?I have bought the 4 days in a month Eurrail pass. The trip is still a month away, but I just wanted to cle

Hey guys. I bought eurostar seat reservation for journey on Amsterdam - paris on 19 Dec 8am and paris- Amsterdam on 22 Dec at 7pm. I have changed my travelling plan and no longer need the seat reservation  if you are interested, let me know. This is for first class seats so you need first class eurail pass to use these seat reservation. Email  me if you are interested. 

I’ve been trying to book 21 Dec EN40459 Canopus overnight train from Zurich to Prague (4 people) since months ago.  Tried DB, CZ, SBB and OBB railways’ websites.  At first, no timetable available, then Seat Reservation was not allowed.  I then recently realized Seat Reservation for overnight train is now possible until I read somebody’s conversation in this community.  So I tried to buy tickets with Eurail Pass discount in OBB.  Eurail Pass discount is not aavailable at DB, CZ or SBB railways.   After I paid with credit card at OBB, the system said my selected compartment are not available.  However, when I retry, there are no other compartments’ choice available but kept showing me the compartments I could not buy.  I then wrote to CZ railway, and got a reply that there were only few places in 5-berth compartment but I need to buy at the stations international ticket counters.  Oh gee, I won’t arrive Europe until 17 Dec.Please may I have advice on ways to book/buy tickets asap?

I’m going to travel to Isle of Wight, Great Brittain. I can’t find if the ticketprice for this specific ferry is included in the Interrailticket. Does anybody know? 

Strange, when I go with the train with panoramic coach from Vienna to Krakow, rail planner app says I do need a reservation for 8€ (but not where to buy). But when I go from Krakow to Vienna with the same train, a reservation is only optional.  is this a mistake? What happens if I board this train in Vienna without a reservation?

I have purchased my husband's Eurail Pass, but I am still waiting for my own Complimentary Companion Pass.As I am wanting to reserve some very popular routes/times, I am wondering if I can purchase his on his pass and book my own journey (without a pass number) while I am waiting for it to arrive.I dont want to miss out on the reservations. I’ll be in Europe for 3 months, and have pretty much lined up the trains I’ll be using in France and Italy.  They show up in my Rail Planner. My QUESTION is: Can I obtain a printable list in the order of all the trains (including transfers) that I plan to take?  Thanks. Hi,I'm traveling to Italy soon and i can't seem to find a few trains in the Rail Planner app. I've read that Trenitalia TPER doesn't share the timetables for their trains, how do one find out if it is one? Finding this out right after timetable change can also be difficult, as one doesn't have any data to compare times with.So, why aren't some trains showing up in the Rail Planner app?

Hallo, ich möchte Plätze für TGV ab Ulm nach Paris für April 2025 reservieren, den interrail Pass habe ich schon.Beim interrail Planer kann ich Reservierung buchen, aber es gibt hier scheinbar keine Platzauswahl?Bei Rail Europe geht es momentan auch für Fahrten im Januar überhaupt nicht zu reservieren? Danke  Peter 

France and Spain - How to travel on trains with minimum or no extra fee ( France : TER, Intercitie, regional, etc. Spain : Largo Recorrido, Regional, Cercanias, ( Talgo ? )) in other words, NOT on TGV or AVE high speed, so as to avoid extra costs : do some need a seat reservation ? Can this be done in advance / or at stations ? I'm asking for advice from experienced Interail travellers about how to keep any seat reservation costs to a minimum or travel free on slower services...Is it better to book through national rail providers websites ( SNCF / RENFE ) rather than on the Interail site or links, to avoid extra admin costs, etc. ? or does it seem that we are directed to tickets with extra costs - or is it a case of being flexible and travelling more slowly on regional trains in order to be able to use Interrail Global Pass with the least costs or none, to improvise if referred on a daily basis - though you might find Interail quotas not available and be forced to pay extra to travel..

I am currently staying in Brenta in Milan, Italy, and want to go to barberini, Rome, Italy what would I pick to book my ticket?

I would like to travel from Barcelona to Alicante or Elche on December 24 using a Eurail Pass. I have the following questions: For trains like the Eurostar, I was able to check seat availability on the Eurail website even without purchasing the pass. However, for the route in Spain mentioned above, it seems like I can only make a reservation after obtaining the pass. If I purchase the pass but there are no available seats, the pass would be useless. Therefore, I would like to check seat availability in advance. What is the best way to do this?

Hello all, we are spending 30 days in Europe for the month of May 2025. We have our 1st Class EuroRail Passes and I’m trying to reserve seats ahead of time. However, it’s not letting me. Below is our itenerary. We have our AirBnb’s reserved already. Just need to nail down the trains.2 May 2025 - Arrive in Paris - Stay 5 days7 May 2025 - Train from Paris to Bordeaux - Stay 4 days11 May 2025 - Train from Bordeux to Vienna, Austria - Stay 4 days15 May 2025 - Train from Vienna to Venice, Italy - Stay 5 days20 May 2025 - Train from Venice to Siena, Rent car and drive to Pienza - Stay 4 days24 May 2025 - Drive from Pienza back to Siena, turn in rental, catch train to Rome - Stay 6 days30 May 2025 - Fly back to the statesI won’t activate our UeroRail Passes until we start May 7. Hi, I'm planning my Interrail trip and I have a train from Zermatt to Paris with 3 connections:Zermatt to Visp Visp to Lausanne Lausanne to ParisThe only part of the trip that allows me to make a seat reservation is the third part (Lausanne to Paris), and I'm a bit worried that I might not be able to take the train due to full capacity on the previous two connections, which don't allow seat bookings.

April/May we will travel through Europe. One of the routes we are planning to do is Vilnius to Krakow. I’m figuring out how to book a seat reservation for this train. (for April 25 – connection: Depart 12.10 Vilnius (IC 143), 1 transfer in Mockova Arrival 23.39 in Krakow) We do have a 2 month pass so remarks about taking a bus instead are not very relevant.(although for Talinn-Riga and Riga-Vilnius we will take the bus) There is a daily connection leaving 12.10 and arriving 23.37 with 1 change in Mockava (LT). I checked the ltglink website and this is correct. Hi,I was hoping to take a direct train from utrecht centraal to koln hbf on Dec 7th (ICE255) and back on Dec 8th (ICE 152). As the seat reservation is optional for this route, I did not get the reservation in advance. But, now it says the train is fully booked.  Can I still travel on the same train with my Eurail pass (knowing that I might not get a seat to sit)? Or is it advisable to take a different connection? The train on 8th says only first class seats available. Does this mean I cannot use my Eurail pass (2nd class) for the journey?(Apologies if this has already been answered before but I couldn’t find an answer for my scenario yet.)Thanks in advance!
