Wondering if there is a train the runs from Geneva Airport to Chamonix? How can I find the schedule? Thanks so much in advance.
Bij de ‘other ways to book this seat reservation’ staat: ‘Book in person at a main station in Europe’ of ‘Reseervations only locally at train station in Spain’. Mijn vraag is of ik dus gewoon in NL op Den Haag Centraal een reservering kan doen of dus alleen wanneer ik op Madrid op het station ben en of dit dan het desbetreffende station moet zijn waar ik van vertrek? Bedankt
A couple of weeks ago it looked like raileurope.com had introduced a €7,45 booking fee for reservations-only. A few days later the fee disappeared again. See the last part of this topic (it got a bit off-topic from the original question): A few days ago, I had a e-mail conversation with Raileurope about another subject. But I also asked them what this temporary booking fee was about. Was it just a bug or was it their intention to putting fee on reservations only. I got an answer back, that they had no intention to put a fee on reservation. They also said that if I had been charged for a booking fee, I should contact them. That was not the case for me (I was just worried about future reservations). But if anyone else has been charged for a booking fee from raileurope.com, I would encourage them to contact Raileurope. Maybe you can get a refund (In the e-mail, they said that they would “investigate and assist”). Please include booking reference number.Palle Dam
Another French region will try to manage their inability to provide enough capacity by making reservations mandatory:2 TER lines in Grand Est will have mandatory reservations from 1 July:https://www.francebleu.fr/infos/economie-social/a-partir-de-cet-ete-la-reservation-sera-obligatoire-dans-les-ter-vallee-de-la-marne-6533098Paris - Troyes - Belfort - Mulhouse Paris - Épernay - St. Dizier/Bar-le-Duc (possibly all the way from/to Strasbourg for the few trains that do that)The reservations are supposed to be free of charge and available from 1 March. No idea however, how or where they can then be booked.
As I have noticed, the Rail Planner app is not the best choice to track the platforms and changes in time of trains as it is not really updated. Then, is there an app that I can search all of my trains and can see the live tracker of time of arrival/delays, and which platforms I need to get on and off? I know it is possible to see the screen on the station, but my trip consists of multiple big trip with 3-4 transits and I need to hop and and off very quickly in some of them. It would be very nice to be able to live track my train when I am in it, then see which platform it will arrive on, and see which platform I need to be for my next train. So I already have an idea in mind before getting of the train. Most app like trainline, DB app (please tell me if i’m wrong), offer the live updates thing, but I think I can only plan my trip if I purchase the tickets on their app itself. But if we have interaill pass, we don’t really “book” any of our trips, only the ones with seat reservation.
Hi there,I am planning to travel from Utrecht to Düsseldorf. The rail planner shows Supplement required.Does anyone know how much would cost for the supplement and can I pay it on board? Any other way to pay will be cheaper? I have 1st class Global Pass.Thank you for the help.Xufang
I’ve tried booking seat reservations for vienna to zurich (for 19th September) both using the eurail website and the OBB website but I’m having no success. On the OBB website it shows seats are only available for part of the journey but when I check ticket availability there appears to be plenty. When I use the eurail website my reservation comes back saying theres a problem with one section of the journey. Help!!
I had my app set up for a trip in September with all the planned trains entered onto the ‘My Trip’ which was linked to the pass, although I had not yet activated the pass.I also bought a second pass for a trip in December which I loaded onto the app and created a new trip which I linked to this second pass.I’m not sure what went wrong then. Clearly I did something wrong as all the information that I had entered onto ‘My trip’ for September disappeared. I tried to sort things out and got into a bit of a mess. (At one point I managed to create a ‘Duplicate Trip’ which I deleted.) I, then, decided that it would be wise just to delete the pass and the associated Trip for December holiday and only put these onto the app once the holiday in September was over.I, then re-entered all the journeys that had disappeared from the September trip. This morning I look again at my app and what I see is:(a) the pass that I will be using in September (good)(b) My trip linked to the pass I will be
Hello,I want to travel from Holland to Spain start 26 July, I was thinking to travel the first day to Bordoeaux but don't want to travel via Paris ,I know there is fast train from lille to Bordoeaux but don't know where I can book it with my intertrail pass. Can someone help? Thanks Tsafi
I would like to book the night train on August 24th but that is not possible. It always just says that the train is temporarily available. Even if I look in June I get the same information. what's going on? Have somebody any Information here?
Hi there We need to book a seat reservation from Split to Zagreb on the 10th of August. Reading the information on here I understood that this could be done via the OBB website but I can’t find it on there. According to Seat61 there are 2 trains a day from Split to Zagreb and on the Croatian railways website I can see both of them at 0823 and 1404. But when it comes to a seat reservation on the OBB website I can only see the 0823 one and it is the 1404 I need. Will it, therefore, be a case of having to book the seat reservation when we get to Split at the train station there? Just seems weird one train is showing on OBB but not the other.
Travelling from Salzburg to Ljubljana on a Friday in August. From what I understand we are ready to board with our passes and don’t need to reserve seats, but can if we wish to. Would you advise booking or do you think we will be ok without reservations? Would like to save money where possible, but equally am happy to pay if it’s worth it. Thank you :-)
Good day! I'm about halfway through a 2-month, 15-day stint on Interrail. Now attempting the UK, and the ACPrail site is giving me an error that is not user-friendly enough to help me correct the error. Trying to book from Harwich to London using https://www.acprail.com/seat-reservations/. I have confirmed that tickets are available on this train on the Greater Anglia there: and I can happily buy them at full price; however ACPrail is preventing me from getting a reservation only, on any train.Have been to many countries, and was able to book Eurostar, even the Stena Line, without a problem.Pre booking error: Reservation on this train is currently impossible or the fare selected is not available anymore. Please advise. Thanks in advance !
I know there are similar threads, but if someone could help give me peace of mind I would appreciate it. I got the reservation for the 457 Nightjet departing Prague at 22:03 and getting to Hungary at 8:29 on 08/19. I got the 4 person couchette reserved and want to clarify that I do not need anything else apart from activating my eurail pass on that travel day. In addition, would you advise booking more train reservations for routes im taking. My route is Prague->Budapest->Ljubljana->Venice->Florence->Cinque Terre->Naples->Amalfi Coast->Milan->Nice->Barcelona->Valencia->Madrid->Sevilla. It will span mainly throughout September and October using the 2 month 15 travel day pass. I’d like the flexibility, but if you think any of those may be highly advisable to reserve in advance please let me know. Thank you!
Needing to travel between Switzerland and Amsterdam during the line closure. Usually it seems quite an easy route; either direct from basel or a change in frankfurt from bern. However, looking on the DB website the amount of transfers, which includes busses, seems like a nightmare. The other option is night train, which I do not want to pay for. What route could be recommended to avoid 2+ transfers this summer? I'm open to travelling slightly out of the way to avoid this but as long as the journey could be completely within a day I could try it. Ideally I do not want to uses buses or change train more than once.
Travelling Milan to Tirano to board Bernina - I understand buses run from Colico to Tirano (due to maintenance works).Does that mean I can use Eurail pass on the bus as well and I do not have to purchase tickets for the bus? Do buses allow luggage? We have 2 big suitcases which we have to carry all the way to Lucerne :)
Hi everyone,Trying to look for options to travel from Chur (around 6.30 PM) to Lucerne. We will be getting off the Bernina Express (from Tirano) at Chur, and have to reach Lucerne for 3 night stay.Is there a direct train option or they all go via Zurich?Since no reservation required, is it easy to travel with luggage and kids? Thanks :)
Hi, my partner and I are interrailing for the first time next week through Italy and Switzerland. We chose interrail rather than advance tickets because we wanted to have some flexibility with the timing of our train journeys (we’ve booked our accommodation but wanted to be able to spend a bit more time in one city and catch a later train if we wanted to). However, we’re now a bit confused with the seat reservation system, particularly in Italy! Is it still possible to turn up and book onto the next train or do should we make seat reservations now? Is there any way of finding out how many seats are left on a train??Our itinerary is:Pompei to FlorenceFlorence to BavenoBaveno to ZermattZermatt to Lausanne (for onward travel back to London later that day)
I want to travel from austria to germany today, but it isn't possible since 2 weeks to make a reservation. So my plan is to cross the border without any reservation. Do you think that will work?
Dear travellers! I’m planning to use interrail for the first time and now I am very confused: My husband, my daughter an I want to travel from northern germany to Barcelona and back in autumn holidays. This ist our route:Kiel - MulhouseMulhouse - BarcelonaBarcelona - KarlsruheKarlsruhe - KielNow I have 2 questions:Can i plan the trip with the app and do all the reservations about Rail Europe? (there are all reservations possible. About Interrail page not all reservations in france are possible) Are we allowed to travel from Karlsruhe to Kiel? Or is this not allowed because Germany is our home country??Thanks for your help!!!Best regardsKatja
When I use my Eurail Pass to book Lugano-Lucerne how do I know which services are “Gotthard Express” ? Or do all the trains on this route have some scenic carriages and by simply paying reservation fee I automatically book one of those seats ?
Hello, I have to travel from Budapest to Sibiu/Romanian with my family at 14. Juli ,and I have the global pass but I can’t make the reservation to seats online ? In the office here in Danmark they can’t do it .can someone help me?
We are planning to travel from Zurich to Vienna on Sunday August 4 on RJX 165 using our Eurail pass but have been unable to book seat reservations by any method (eg OBB says not available, DB says all booked). Have been monitoring this for months and have never been able to make the seat reservations for this particular train.Eurail says seat reservation for this trip is only recommended, but OBB says travel only guaranteed with reservation on peak travel days (which presumably this will be), and as noted above DB says all seats already fully booked. Based on OBB live it does not appear the train is actually fully booked, and based on everything I've been reading online that also seems unlikely... but we're getting a bit nervous. Is it possible that we will still be able to make a reservation closer to the date of travel? If not, is there any chance we can get on that train without a reservation - or are we just out of luck? Also, looking at alternate methods to get there such as via Mun
Hi there. I live in poole so wanted to take the ferry to cherbourg on the 12th then next morning go to Agen which goes via paris. Problem is it says seat reservation N/A to paris. Is there a way to do this?do i buy my pass first or make sure i have the seat before i buy a new pass? Or do i have to simply buy a normal ticket to paris?
My wife and I will be travelling on March 31st, Easter Sunday, from Paris to Florence. We are hoping to get to Florence in the early to mid evening. Currently the routing is showing a need to change stations in Milan (from Centrale to Rogoredo) even though there are a number of trains that leave for Florence from Centrale. Is this a mistake or is such a change in station an actual requirement? Thank you in advance for any clarification.
