Hello everyone,I'm planning to travel from Montpellier to Barcelona on August 2nd, but the website says that seat reservations are not available. Can I reserve at the Montpellier station for INT AVE train? (But I'm worried that there won't be any seats left if I do it on the day.) + If I ask a friend in Montpellier to use my Eurail pass to make the seat reservation in advance, is it okay to reserve a seat this way?
a friend just booked a train route using Trainline app, from Minden, Germany to Basel, Switzerland with 1 transfer in Dortmund on July 20. I went on Eurail to see if I could add this trip to my multi-day Eurail pass so we could be on the same trains when traveling. However, the trains my friend booked don’t show up in Eurail app or eurail.com at all. How can I see if I need a reservation for these trains or ensure that I get on the same trains as my friend. Will my eurail multi day pass not work for these trains? I am confused as to why they are not on the app. I could go on trainline and buy the tickets but would prefer to use eurail multi day pass for this trip instead. help please!
Hello, I plan to travel from Copenhagen to Oslo via Goteborg on July 18th. I have a first class interrail ticket 5 days in one month. I wanted to make a reservation since the forecast on the VY website is from “usually quite full” to “usually standing”. But it is not possible (chat with entur). I have to buy an ordinary ticket to be able to make a seat reservation 😕. Unfortunatly I am not very flexible and being 64 I rather don’t want to stand for almost 4 hours. Does anybody know how the chances are to get a seat? Thanks for any helpful advice!
I an travelling through Germany, Austria, France and Belgium during December. I have a first class global pass. Wondering if you would recommend purchasing seat reservations, even when not compulsory, at this time ?
I have 7 days Global Pass. How can I reserve LNER train seat to Edinburgh? I am looking to travel on 1st OctoberLNER website is showing the seats when I try to purchase those, but just for seat reservations there are no seat available on that day. Is there another way to reserve the seats?
Hi there,We will be in Portugal in August and are trying to book our seat reservations for these trains. We are wanting to book for Porto to Lisbon and Lisbon to Lagos. We have received the below message for these trains.Does anyone know what this means and how we can book these trains? Also are these trains included in our pass or will we need to pay extra for them? Many thanks!Katelyn
Hi, I'm hoping to travel to to Abikso from Denmark. It is not easy (I wonder if not impossible) to book the tickets from Stockholm to Narvik by calling vy.se (+46 771-444 111). Have it worked for anybody? I was trying to call them from 7.00 today, and still without success… Waiting for hours on the line. By the way I used an app (Rebtel) for calling to save the money, after noticing that the waiting costed me much too much… My question is - how much does it cost to book a seat for vy's night train from Stockholm to Abisko? And also whether it has to be a bed or there is (perhaps) some cheaper option. I'm just a poor student:) Also I wonder if the alternative for trying to call this out-of-hell-company, that is waiting for sj.se to release the bookings, is anyhow realistic plan? It is weird that vy has some tickets open for sell on their website (although there are some errors if one tries to buy them), while all the other websites have no booking open whatsoever. And actually, what is t
We are looking to reserve seats on trains for the following journeys. Leipzig to Vienna on the 19th of December, Vienna to Chur on the 26th of December and Chur to Tirano on the 27th of December (Bernina Express). Is there a specific date and time when these seat reservations will become available to reserve? Thanks.
I have seen on the SBB website that there is a direct train from Lugano to Venice Santa Lucia which leaves Lugano at 10:30, arriving Venice at 14:42. It is a train from Zurich. However the train does not appear on the Interrail app. Can anyone explain why?Peter
I am from the Netherlands and am planning to travel to Lisbon - Porto - Barcelona - Lyon - Utrecht. However, the interrail website doesn't make it easy to understand wheter (or not) I can book the seat reservations online. The Lisbon → Porto train seems to be booked at the station, since these trains go regularly this should not be a problem. We were also planning on traveling from Porto to Barcelona, on the 9th of July, going:Porto Campanha → Vigo Guixar 8:13 → 11:35Vigo Urzaiz → Madrid Chamartin 13:20 → 17:36Madrid Puerto de Atocha → Barcelona-Sants 19:00 → 21:30. In Vigo we could walk to the other station, in Madrid we should take the metro. However, at the moment i cannot book these seat reservations online at interrail. Is that correct, as the website states it should be possible for the AVE, Euromed & Alvia trains? If not, and i should book seat reservations at the counter, how hard is that in the summer? Are thes routes ever sold out?Especially the first two trains are importa
Hi!I will start my Interrail trip in two weeks. I have some cities I want to visit, but I don't want to plan everything in advance, as I want to be flexible if I like a city or when I meet some nice people. Some of the trains I want to take have a required reservation:Munchen to Milan Milan to Florence/Firenze Florence/Firenze to Ancona Ancona to BolognaI'm curious if it's fine if I book those trains the day before I will head to that city or that it is really needed to book them right now otherwise they will sell out way before the travel day? Thanks in advance! :)
Hi!My friend and I are travelling through Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Croatia and Germany with a Global Pass from 19th July until the 9th of August. We can’t seem to figure out how we are supposed to book our trains. We’re afraid that all the trains are already full. Is it necessary to book our train in advance or can we just wing it and make a reservation on the spot? Thanks in advance!!
Hello :) I have the problem on July, 20.2024 to July, 21.2024 that the NJ from Munich to La Spezia is not in the Rail Planner App. But the ÖBB Night jet Website says that the train is driving normally without any problems and the interrail Pass is included, just paying 9.90€ for the ride. What do I have to do? I only know and the Nightjet Website says only that the Nightjet to Rome is not driving until September. Thank you :)
Hi, will be using a Global pass and just read when making seat reservations for train travel in Germany even an e-resevation has to be printed and carried with you. As I don't have access to a printer what do I do.Thanks in advance for any comments
Hello Interrailers!I am looking at traveling from Lake Balaton (HU) down to Split on Friday June 7th.(There was an excellent connection via Celje in Slovenia but ÖBB has suddenly cut the Celje-Split service down to Wednesdays only, from 3 times a week). Now, we can join up with the train from Budapest [IC 204] which arrives in Zagreb Glavny at 21:59.The night train from Zagreb Glavny to Split [NT 1821] leaves 31 minutes later, at 22:30.According to Zugfinder, the IC 204 has been on time every day for the last month.Whaddya reckon? Has anyone attempted that connection? Successfuly or unsuccessfully? If we miss it, we’re good for finding a place to sleep at almost eleven at night… and leaving either at 7 am (yuk) or in the arvo and hitting Split late in the evening. We’ll be stopping in Zag anyway on the way back up, so we can happily give Zagreb by night a miss.Chance it?Love to hear if anyone has experience of this, good or bad.
I’ll be in Karlovo for 3 days, then arrive in Plovdiv and plan to take sleeper to Istanbul on same day.Can I make Plovdiv-Istanbul reservation from Karlovo? Can I make Plovdiv-Istanbul reservation on the day in early August, or will it be fully booked? Can I just get on the train in Plovdiv on a seat, get to Dimitrovgrad and then try and find a spare couchette before the rest of the train gets cut? Or are there no seats in the first place?
Hi! So my girlfriend and I are this summer traveling to the north of Europe. Therefore we have to get on the trains from Oslo to Göteborg (with train from vy) and Göteborg to Kopenhagen (with train from öresundstrag). Now my question is, if anybody has experience with a seat reservation for those trains and generally up there? I have already tried to book seats on every homepage, also on Entur.com but it is not possible. I also called them, but they said that is should be possible. Is there any solution for this problem? Our fear is, that the trains are full and that we do not get the next trains then. Are the trains in summer full up there or can we be relaxed because we will get seats anyways? Thank you very much in advance for your answers and help! Yours, Samuel
Hi everybody! I’m traveling with my girlfriend this August and we are planning to visit France, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy. We already have a detailed day schedule for each train we need to take (20 day trip) and our option is the global pass for 10 day flexible. Reading about the Interrail global pass, we understand that for train requering seat reservation we have to pay a fee and we are totally aware and clear, but we are a little confused about the trains that don’t require reservation. After we buy the global pass, is it possible to reserve or book seats for trains with “seat reservation not required” to ensure the travel for date and hour that we need? I have searched for details about this but it´s not clear; it says that with the global pass we can get in to the train, but what happen if the train is sold out or full? Our concern is that if we miss a train will affect the rest of our schedule for that day, so that´s why we would like to previous book our trains
Hi.On the 28th of August me and my girlfriend are travelling from Lyon to Bologna. We wanted to take the train to domodossala, we then wanted to take the replacement bus EC057 to Milan and then the train to Bologna. When I looked online only on trenitalia I could book a ticket for 13 euros, but I could not select the interrail pass. Should I just pay for the ticket or is there another way to get a reservation for the bus?Greetings,Per
Hi Eurail Angels: I’m doing research for future (no date set yet) travel on the Bernina Express. Travel direction not decided yet. I know it’s either Tirano to Chur or Chur to Tirano. Question 1: I read on Seat61 page that you can try to book cheaper, legitimate ticket on German Railways (Deutsche Bahn) site. I wanted to know if I buy such ticket, do I still need a seat reservatoin?I understand that if I want to sit in the seats in the Allegra unit (that’s hauling the Bernina Express) then I don’t need seat reservation. Question 2: If I want to purchase seats in the Allegra unit (as mentioned above), do I use https://www.sbb.ch/ to make the purchse? How can I tell it’s part of the Bernina Express? Do I just pay attention to PE950 or 952 (summer Tirano to Chur) & PE 951 or 955 (summer Chur to Tirano). And of course ignore the seat reservation part as I’ll be sitting in the first-come first serve Allegra part of the Bernina Express train. Question 3: If I want to take regional train
Hi -I want to reserve seats on AVE 9730 from Narbonne to Barcelona on Feb 21 (dep 10:39). The Interail reservation service shows a price of €12 2nd class - but also says it can’t process that reservation. The only “other” option offered seems to be in person at a station in *Spain*! I will not be in Spain between now and then, so that won't work. In there any other way? Does the SNCF phone service allow booking interrail seat reservations for AVE services? (The journey does start in France...) Or might I be able to do it to at a station in France? My fallback option is to just book a full-price ticket, currently available via Renfe online - c. €40. I'm assuming it would be a bad idea to delay to try for interrail seat reservations at the ticket office in Narbonne on my day of travel? Thanks for any help!Barry
Hello all ;)I imagine this is possible on German (DB) and Austrian (OBB) trains? Why do you ask? I've noticed that on some lines the 1st class is often fully booked, whereas reservations in the 2nd class are "for sale".Or do people travelling in 1st book more often than those in 2nd?In a nutshell. Thanks for your insights J.-François ;)Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
I have a seat reservation for Zurich HB to Munich HBF on the 25th of June from 11:33 to 15:04. There’s been a change/cancellations of some segments due to the storm damages. Part of my train is still covered but it’s where I get up to the part they had to cancel that I have concerns/questions. Are seat reservations required once I’m in Germany? I’m trying to determine if I’m okay or if I need to cancel the reservation I have now and rebook it. The only problem is Eurail hasn’t updated their trains so I don’t know which ones will actually be covered under the pass.
Hy everyone, i’m planning to travel from Padova to Bratislava on 2nd August. I’m going crazy trying to understand if the NJ235 from Padova to Wien is available, from different sites i sees different infromations:interrail.eu → from this site i have to change train in TARVISIO BOSCOVERDE, then it is direct to WIEN HBF shop.oebbtickets.at → i have to change train in Wr.Neustadt Hbf, but tickets are not available (WHY??) thetrainline.com → 3 different option, the last one is direct instead the other two have a change at Wiener Neustadt Hbf. On the right the translation is equal “timetable subject to change” the train is in less than 2 months, i don’t know how to dothank you very much
