Train connections & reservations

I know that similar questions have been asked, but I am still confused. If I want to travel on a train that does not require a seat reservation do I just rock up on the day and show my global pass?

I bought my ticket through the mobile app and somehow the ticket receipt shows a seat, but I didn’t pay extra and I thought it would be paid from my own money. Also, when I search the ticket number on the official train website, it doesn’t show up.I also wanted to know if there’s any problem with bringing luggage, since my partner (who doesn’t have the pass) had to pay for luggage, but nothing showed up for me about that.My train ticket is from Warszawa Centralna to Krakow Glowny (train: 1304 EIP)

we would like to be sure that there are free Seats on the trains we should use before we by our interrail pass

I’m confused as i want to take the train from bratislava to zilna and then further to kosice but on the timetable it says i need a reservation  meanwhile if i look at train types on the interail app it says the trains i would be taking don’t need seat reservation only with 1st class and that besides that they are optional and on the interail site it says too the trains are reservation optional (picture below) so just to be sure i thought i ask to be sure if the timetable isn’t wrong or such  

In july I want to travel from Amsterdam to Prague, I booked the seat reservation for Amsterdam - Berlin, but for Berlin - Prague it said seat reservation is recommended, but not required. All the seats are sold out though, will I still be able to travel that time slot? Will I just be able to stand somewhere or is that not allowed. The train is a Rail jet I think!

Is there any platform where I can select my seat for French trains and Spanish ones? As I saw that on the interrail service you are getting random seat allocations. 

Hey everyone! So I’ve got seat reservations and a mandatory supplement booked for my train tomorrow from Verona to Munich, but on the reservation tickets it says the reservation is invalid without the proof of reservation being printed. I don’t have access to a printer and my journey is early tomorrow, so can anyone tell me whether it’s actually necessary to print this out, and if there’s any way to print them at the station or something? Thanks, and fast reply appreciated!!

Hi,  I have bought my interrail pass and added the pass number to the App.  I can’t book LNER Seats, the page which is supposed to say ‘Select Your Train Times’ says ‘Sorry No Journeys can be found.  Please try another search’.  Is anyone able to suggest what's going wrong?   Is it because I’m trying to book in advance of 12 weeks?  Even although it will allow me to book a ticket? Many thanks 

Hi we need to reserve the seats for this specific nightrain. However it only shows ticket not available. it says this for all of these trains on this route. So do we need to get it in person on the train? or could we just like sit in the train and explain? Any help would be greatly appreciated!  

Hi everyone !I tried to book seat reservation on the interrail.eu website. So i went on the dedicated internet page and it asked me to log in. So i loged in but then it redirected me on a another internet page which is my personal account. So i tried to go again on the book seat reservation page but it log me out. And so on... That is why i can’t make seat reservation... can you help me ? Thanks 

I only need 100-150 euros to reserve seats on trains and if I have the Interrail Global Pass, I can add another adult person, a retired person, my mother.

I booked three tickets for Madrid–Barcelona, but I only received the receipt for all three and only two actual tickets by email. The missing ticket is for my 3-year-old son. On top of that, the two tickets I received are in different coaches. I’ve already written to Eurail three times and only got one reply saying they would look into it.

Hi, I’m trying to book from Patras to Bari and onto Sicily, Syracuse on July 27th.  My first question is that the ferry to Bari is proving difficult to book, I’m getting an error message when I try.  Has anyone had success in booking for July yet?My next question is the timetable of the boat doesn’t seem to be set, it’s due in at 9am or 10am depending on where I look.  Is it possible to hold two seat reservations, for two trains, one leaving at 11:10 and the other at 12:30?  Thank you for your help and advice, it’s very much appreciated.

Hi< I am interested to book a sleeper cabin from Krakow to Vienna using a Eurail pass. I cant seem to find out how to do that. I seem to only get offered a seat reservation.

Hi I’ll be travelling with my son on our Global Interrail passes for a month. I’ve booked two seat reservations from Hamburg to Paris for 11th July. I’ve just discovered that there is an additional  supplement for passholders on routes between Germany and France. My reservations don’t mention this but I understand that standard Pass seat reservations are €5.50 whereas I’ve paid £€22 for each reservation. Does anyone know if this means that I’ve definitely paid the extra Pass supplement? It’s imperative we catch that train as our Eurostar home depends on us getting to Paris! 

I’m looking to book what looks like a busy train between Salzburg and Villach on 19th June. I’ll be using my Interrail Pass, but my partner won’t be (as they will be using it on the following day on a more expensive route), but will require a seat. What is the best way to book this, to try to ensure that we sit together?

Hi guys, my friend booked all of our seat reservations for our whole group. No one else can see them on our app apart from her even though she used all of our inter-rail pass numbers. Is this normal?

I booked a journey from London to Leipzig and now realise that the transfer time is impossible at Brussels because of customs etc - I naively thought that I would not be offered a train that it would be impossible to catch. So….I’ve paid for a reservation on Eurostar, but want to change the Brussels to Leipzig leg. Is it possible to do this, or do I have to start all over again and lose my reservation fee? Also, how much time should I allow for the transfer at Brussels?And do I need to book the Brussels to Leipzig leg or can I just get on the next available trains (after checking that they are valid for the Global Pass).

Hey! I won the DiscoverEU ticket, an interrail pass. I want to book a ticket from Romania to Budapest, but it sais that i can not book the ticket from the website. The train leaves at 04:00 so would that count as a night train, and that could be the problem? How could I solve the situation? The DiscoverEU app sais that I need a seat reservation. Is there anyone who booked a ticket from Romania to Budapest and could give me some advices? I would be really rateful.

On my upcoming trip this May, I am planning to take the train from Copenhagen to Frankfurt. My wife and I have the 1st class Global pass and we understand that we don’t need to make a reservation for this trip. However, we would like to reserve and pick our seats if possible, but it seems only the Hamburg to Frankfurt leg allows us to pick the exact seats, while the Copenhagen to Hamburg leg has automatically assigned seats even if we pay for reservation. I’ve checked this both on the DSB and DB website and it is the same for both. My question is whether the Copenhagen to Hamburg leg allows for picking exact seats closer to the date (say 2 months in advance?), or will it always be automatically assigned? If we can’t pick seats for the first leg regardless, would it make more sense to just make the whole reservation now so that I have more choices of seats for the Hamburg to Frankfurt leg? I’ve also heard you might be able to pick seats on the cd.cz website but you need to put in the ex

Hi I am trying to book a train from Paris to Florence via Milan Central  on 20 August.  I have managed to buy Paris to Milan but can’t get any for Milan Centrale to Firenze. I just get “No price results were found.  Pass holder seats may be sold outdoor this connection but there may be other ways to check for available seats”. Does this mean that they are definitely not available as Interrail?Are there any other ways to secure a Interrail qualifying seat? Thanks
