Hi to everyone! Just a quick heads up that DB (Deutsche Bahn – German Railways) is raising the price of reservations (as stated in the new version of their general transport conditions). From July 9th onwards:2nd class: 5,20 € per journey (former price: 4,90 €) 1st class: 6,50 € per journey (former price: 5,90 €) DB's 1st class flex price still has the reservation included. 2nd class family reservation: 10,40 € per journey (former price: 9,80 €) 1st class family reservation: 13,00 € per journey (former price: 11,80 €) Keep in mind that reservations from ÖBB or ČD still cost 3 € or 76 CZK respectively. But they're only convenient if you just reserve seats on one train since they charge you per train rather than per journeys (like DB does). So if you'd like to reserve seats on a journey which at least includes one change, DB is still cheaper. Eurail/Interrail still charges 6 € plus a 2 € service fee for a reservation.
Hi, we are traveling Tirano to Milano Centrale after the Bernina Express in September 2024 and want to know how/where to reserve seats on the train.
Hello,I am new to Eurail, first time travelling to Europe with my family. We got a pass and we have obtained seat reservations for all the trains that require them on our upcoming trips. However, there is one trip for which we are looking into getting the optional seat reservations: the Centovalli train between Locarno and Domodossola. We are planning on taking a Vigezzo Vision train on that route, which we understand has a surchage that can be paid on board. This train also does not allow you to travel unless you find a seat, which means it may be useful to get a reservation on busy seasons. Since we will be travelling on July 12, we were trying to get a reservation online, which I understand would also allow us to pay the surchage online as well. But when going to the Centovalli website to get the seat reservations, and choosing the option that indicates we already have a ticket and just need reservations, a new form is presented that asks what type of ticket you have ( (https://pren
Hello,I would like to book a train in Germany (DB ICE) through the DB website and not through the Interrail website. If I understand correctly, I just need to check "Book seat only," search for the desired route, and reserve my seat. Then, in case of inspection, I show my Interrail pass and my seat reservation. Can you confirm this ? Thx, have a nice day !
So I’m planning a 3 day trip, 3 persons, in July through Inverness, Aberdeen, Edimburgh, Fort William and Glasgow. The Interrail app says the reservation is optional, and I read somewhere that U.K. trains rarely get full.So I’m well in going without seat reservations?
The Interrail website and app both say it exists but I cannot book tickets through them. Other websites say otherwise. Does it exist? Has anyone got it? Do I need to book in advance? If so where from? Thanks!
I need to travel from Geneva to Venice with my family of 5 on July 23rd. I cannot figure out a way to use our Eurail Global Passes for this. When I try to book through Eurail, it says that reservations are required (I think for bus tickets, maybe?) but doesn’t seem to give me an option to reserve anything. Suggestions?
Hi everyone,I'm departing on my very first interrail journey from Amsterdam to Copenhagen and Stockholm in a few weeks half June. Unfortunately, I am encountering a couple of issues with seat reservations and would appreciate some help.1. Train from Amsterdam to Osnabrück: I am planning to take the IC 143 from Amsterdam Centraal to Osnabrück Hbf, which requires a seat reservation, which I want to make via bahn.de. However, no matter which date I select, the system always indicates that the train cannot be reserved at the moment. This issue also applies to the return journey. The strange thing is that if I book a ticket for the journey (not just a seat reservation as I am trying now), I can reserve a seat without any problem. How can I make these seat reservations through DB?2. Train from Copenhagen to Stockholm: I want to reserve a seat from Copenhagen Central Station to Stockholm Central Station via sj.se. However, I can only select Copenhagen Airport as the departure point. Is there
I know that trains go on sale 30 days before, but what time of day? Exactly 30 days to the minute before departure or at midnight, or something else? I want to try and book a couchette on the Erzincan-Ankara Doug Express and they sell out in a few minutes so I need to be online the second they go on sale.thanks!
I am trying to book from Narvik to Stockholm on train 93 (the direct train) on Sunday September 1. I understand the vy are having some problems with booking on this train, however what is most concerning is that there are no trains listed (either the direct, or the change at Boden) on Sunday September 1 or Monday September 2. I can see trains on other days before and after those days, but not on the day we wish to travel. We could travel on the the Saturday but although train 95 is scheduled, there’s no 93. And I defintely don’t want to arrive at Stockholm at 06:27 or whatever. Is this likely to be related to planned works? We were planning to go by train to Bodø, and then bus to Narvik, but I am not interested in the bus trip if all we do at the end is fly back to Oslo. And then I wonder about whether it is worth even going to Bodø? Maybe return from Trondheim to Oslo via Røros. But there’s no point panicking if this train will appear on the schedules...
Hi everyone :)I've been to plovdiv's train station office to buy a reservation for the Sofia Istanbul express night train (which stops in plovdiv) but there they told me they couldn't sell reservations because of an informatic issue in there system. From what I've read online and especially on this forum, there is no way of getting a reservation online. If you know otherwise I'd love to know! What they seem to tell me to do is to get on the train and buy a reservation on board. At least that's what I understood because I don't speak bulgarian and they didn't really speak English. That makes me a little worried to do so, especially in the case where there's no more available couchettes on the train. So I was wondering if anyone had already done this, or if you could think of any another way to get a reservation Thanks in advance!Sohel
The Eurail map is a lie in this part of the world. I was livid when I found out. There is only one international train running from Serbia and that is to Barr, Montenegro. The following trains have been cancelled and you must buy a (long) bus connection:Zagreb - BelgradeBudapest - BelgradeBelgrade - SofiaBelgrade - Pristina Beograd-SkopjeAlmost every train in Bosnia. The only train that runs is Mostar to Sarajevo, NOTHING ELSE.Many domestic trains in Serbia. Eurail is not accepted Novi Sad - Belgrade. You can get to many borders on domestic trains, but schedules on each side do not work out. You will have to find your own way across the border and overnight in the border city to catch an onward train in all sides other than to Bar.
Hey all, Im trying to make reservations from Geneva Airport to Milano Centrale on June 10. When I try to book the 9:10 am departure it says Geneva Airport - Lausanne (ready to board) but from Lausanne to Milan it says BUSEC139BusOperated byFerrovie dello Stato SpADirectionMILANO CENTRALE (Italy) Seat reservations required But it won’t let me make any reservations. There’s no button - nothing. Could really use some help. Thanks!
Want to take 00:35-10:44 Szolnok-Cluj on July 24th. OBB and Interrail reservations say no tickets available, on MAV there are non-reservation tickets available though. Is there a quota for interrail reservations? could I board the train without a reservation and hope for the best? Or pay on the train? I just want a seat, not bothered about a couchette. thanks!
The Dacia Express night train seems to have no availability at all for three months, I want a seat from Szolnok to Simeria and are no dates with availability on Interrail site or OBB. Is this normal, can it be booked elsewhere?
I bought the Eurail Italy pass and plan to take Lenardo express from Italy Taco Airport to Sorrento via Napoli Centrale. Can I use the pass to Lenardo Express and the transfer from Napoli Centrale to Sorrento? My trip will start in May 2024
I live in France. I have recently spent a lot of time studying the possibility of crossing the country without the use of TGV trains and have made a surprising and truly shocking discovery. The French railway site, SNCF-Connect, as well as the computers in French railway stations, are rigged to avoid offering connections with ter (local) trains. A friendly booking office clerk told me that the SNCF is an enormous tentacular outfit involving many separate companies, and that the booking side is run like a profit-making travel agency. He personally had not even been aware of the bias inherent in the SNCF booking software he uses all day! At my request, he was not able to propose a trip from Valence to Lille in a day without at least one TGV, or even two!The following question in the Forum from a year ago seems to be symptomatic of this situation, and even suggests that the problem extends to the Interrail app:"A lot of trains seem to be blocked. When I click on a train connection in the a
Hi, I’ve booked all my hostels and trains up for this summer. One of my connections between Amsterdam and Berlin involved getting a train from Amsterdam to Duisburg HBF (which I have booked) and a train from Duisburg HBF into Berlin HBF (which didn’t need a seat reservation). I’ve just reconfirmed my route and the train from Duisburg to Berlin is now saying ‘Duisburg HBF has been omitted’ and I’m unable to reserve a seat. I’ve attatched a screenshot below so people can see what I mean, for reference it’s the 23:54 from Duisburg , on the 29th July 2024. No other trains in the route have Duisburg omitted.I’m just wondering if anyone’s seen this before and if there’s any way I can find out whether or not the route will be replaced, I’ve contacted deutsche bahn but in my experience they can be very slow to reply. My plan is fairly dependant on this connection so if I can’t get this train I will need to look at other alternatives asap. Many thanks
Hello,June 12th I am planning on travelling from Stockholm to Narvik. I wanted to take a direct nighttrain, but this train does not go due to railwork. So instead I want to take the train from Stockholm to Björkliden, with a change in Boden. The last part from Björkliden to Narvik we will do by bus or hitchhiking. My question is: how can I make reservations for these trains? (A bed for Stockholm-Boden, and a seat for Boden-Björkliden). I’ve tried the following options:Via Vy: you can only make reservations with an Interrail pass by calling them. However, I can’t reach them. I’ve been in their phone queu for more than an hour for a couple of times now, and this is getting quite expensive… They also dont respond to my e-mails. Via Interrail: I get the following error (see screenshot)via SJ: it says “tickets are not released" via Trainplanet: tickets are also not released yet. I called them, and they told me they do not have any information about when they will be released. Please, can
Hi all, I am travelling between Copenhagen and Gothenburg, and then Gothenburg to Oslo, but the rail planner on the interail website doesn’t hold information for the trains I have found on the countries respective rail booking websites (Sweden and Norway). I want to know if I have to reserve seats on these routes, but also don’t seem to be able to find out on the other websites. anyone know how to reserve seats on these routes? thanks
Traveling from the US to Italy and Germany next month. Purchased a 4-day pass and have already saved my itinerary. I read that it's best not to activate your pass until you actually arrive in Europe since it can't be refunded once activated (just in case something happens last minute and the trip has to be cancelled) but I was wondering how far in advance I should be buying seat reservations? Some of the trains I've picked require them but most are just recommended. I assume I should not wait until I land in Italy to buy them since the could possibly sell out.Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Obviously demand is high this time of year but there seems to be zero availability from August 12 onwards (all the way into September and October as well) for the Nightjet from Vienna to Brussels. Any ideas?
Hi There!I am checking the train timetable to travel from Athens Greece to Patra Greece using Eurail global pass on Aug 11, 24 and it shows "can't find any train to match". I am just trying to get to Patras and get on the Ferry to go to Bai, Italy. How do I get from Athens to the Ferry at Patras ?Please help.
I am trying to see if I can reserve a Eurostar seat for use with an Interrail card (which I haven’t bought yet). On the drop-down menu, the Interrail option is surrounded by a red outline when I select it. If I select the Eurail one it lets me proceed. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
OK, so next issue I see travelling from Tirano to Milan weekend of 19/07/2024 - I go to book Trenord for train from Tirano to Milan morning of the 20th July - cannot see any train schedule. Train schedule stops 08/07/2024.I check https://valtellinamobile.it/lavori-ferrovia-milano-tirano/ for disruptions etc and it translates to the below:The dates of the train block in 2024 and 2025 on the Lecco – Tirano lineLECCO – TIRANO and COLICO – SONDRIO – TIRANOPreparatory works for the 2026 Olympics 9 June 2024 – 8 September 2024 (90 day line interruption.LECCO – TIRANO and LECCO – COLICOPreparatory works for the 2026 Olympics June 2025 – September 2025 (90 day line interruption).Does this mean that line from Tirano to Milan on Trenord will not be running? Will it be diverted to a different route?Help appreciated - did not expect to strike issues in Switzerland over this time but I guess everything is geared for winter season perhaps? (hence Olympics?)
