I see in travel planing “Transfer by public transportation “ from one station to other. Are those transportation free for EUrail pass?
We want to travel from Madrid to Lisbon in July. However there are no routes available yet so is there any chance to look it up elswhere?Afterwards we want to travel from Lisbon to Valencia. Is this possible to do in one day and if yes, any suggestions which route is the best? Thanks in advance :)
I have a reservation to arrive at CDG on a Friday in May this year and hope to depart soon after for Strasbourg by TGV and know a reservation is required. It is sometimes slow and difficult to get from the plane through immigration and customs. I should have 2 hours between arrival and departure of the TGV (morning). There is another 2 hrs 23 minutes later. Since arrival is on a Friday morning I expect the TGV demand to be high and am watching it now. If I were sure of the trip I could make a reservation now but plan to wait about another month. One strategy is to book the earlier departure knowing that if the plane flies at all I could make the later TGV. Another is just the opposite, i.e. book the earlier thinking that if it becomes clear that I can’t catch it in time I could possibly change the reservation to the later TGV. My wife will be waiting at CDG and will know the status of the flight and could make the change if it is clear we wont make the early TGV. She will be at
Hi travellers!I was trying to make reservations for the NJ402 from Zurich to Utrecht on the 25th of July for me and my family. Somehow I can make reservations from Basel to Utrecht (same train?) but not from Zurich to Utrecht. According to the obb app we should take a separate IC from Zurich to Basel and board the NJ there. Any idea what could be the problem?
We are a group of four travelling from different parts of the UK to continental Europe via London. We will be meeting at London St Pancras to take the Eurostar. For example, one of us will be travelling from Manchester to Bruges via London. Another one from Brighton to Bruges via London. How do we make sure the interrail app books seats for us as a group (or at least on the same trains) from London onwards?I am assuming that if we set up a group too early, we won't be able to travel separately from different parts of the UK to London. And if we set up a group too late, we may end up on different trains and with seats far apart.
I am trying to book the overnight between Krakow and Budapest in May.It says ‘Prices Unavailable’Does anyone have any advice to be able to book tickets, please? Thanks
I am trying to make seat reservations for Frecciarossa train. Last year I could pick the seats my self. We are travelling with kids, so preferre seats with a table. This year I can't choose myself. I am using öbb website. Do you know anywhere else that is possible?
To get onto Eurostar with a ‘normal’ ticket, you scan the ticket at the barrier. The ticket bar code has encoded your train ticket which includes your seat reservation and the barrier opens. However with interrail do you not have two separate components - your interral ticket showing that you are eligible to travel in Europe that day and your seat reservation for a particuar Eurostar train. So what do you do in order to board a Eurostar train - and does it work any differently compared to when using a normal ticket? Peter
Hi it’s my first experience here and I want to to book a night train between toulouse to Paris in august. I can’t do it on the website Eurail. the train is already available for reservation on the SNCF website. Is someone know what’s wrong or what have I to do ? Thank you for your help. Stephanie
Hi, I am from Germany and I am planning my trip end of May/beginning of June in Spain and Portugal.I wanted to buy the seat reservations for two trains in Portugal, also because they are cheaper than I thought with just 5 Euro. But in the Railplanner App, it tells me as the only option I have to buy it is in person in a train station.I went to a DB-Service Center here in Germany and they told me they officially cannot book seat reservations for Interrail in Portugal anymore and they told me I need to buy them in the App, but as I said that isn’t possible.I looked up that for my route from Porto to Lisbon, I can take 3 trains without a reservation at all.But between Lisbon and Faro I cannot choose a connection without seat reservations, it’s the only possibility according to the app.I‘m a little anxious now because I already booked the hostels, next thing I wanted to try is to book the seats via a Portuguese Website but I was hoping someone here with similar experience could help me out.
Hi, I was buying the seat reservations for my trip in May and June, and it went fine except for my connection from Barcelona to Paris on June 5th.Looking up all the connections for the day, it tells me that they can’t show me the price and it could be that it’s booked out and I should try later.I asked a Train Station Center for help and they told me it could be that I am too soon and I should retry a few times but that doesn’t calm me enough.Does anyone have a tip for me?It‘s in more than two months so I hoped I would be early enough. thanksLuca
Does someone know what is up with this Ljubljana-Budapest-Kelenföld route in May 1st? In my interrail app it shows that it’s a direct train, but when I booked the seat reservation there were some major changes. There are two transfers, in Zalaegerzeg and Balatonszentgyoergy, one of which appears to be a replacement bus. There is very little transfer time in between too, anyone have any tips how to actually make it and not be left in a foreign city. Any info and tips are warmly welcome
If there are no reservations available on a route that says reservations optional, does that mean they are sold out and we will not be able to board? Or, will we have to stand with our luggage? We’re traveling from Basel to Interlaken, and Interlaken to Zurich.
Hi all, this is my very first time going overseas and l need some help with a train reservation.l want to catch a direct train from Paris to Zurich on Sunday 2nd June 2024. l have been waiting for the correct train to come up on Eurail timetable. Once it did l tried to buy the reservations however it is saying prices unavailable. l have tried going to all the other train sites like B-Europe, Rail Europe, TGV Lyria etc, but am unable to do so with my pass, it will only allow if l pay for a full fare. I understand it is the busy season but l have been trying for over a month to book and every single direct train on the day is ‘’Prices Unavailable’’. The trains where you have to make 2 changes are still available. is there another way? As it's almost like the passes aren't covered on the direct trains at all.Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you !!!
HelloI have an interrail Global pass and would like to book a journey from Bari to Bologna on 28 August. On the application there are no short trains (5.45 am), only trains that take 23 hours... However, I see that the short train is scheduled to depart two days later, on 31 August. Do you know if other routes will be added? I can't find the information on the booking websites. Thanks for your help!
Hi!My mom and I would like to plan our interrail trip to the UK with the Global Pass, but before we book everything, we would like to know: If we book a seat reservation (which counts as a travel day from the Global Pass) but then cancel it later (because we changed our minds, got sick or something else), can we still use the same day from the Global Pass to make a new reservation? Or is it used off for good? Thank you in advance!Matilde & Aline
Hello everyone,I am planning a trip to Scandinavia and I would like my first travel day to start in Rennes (Brittany, France) and end in Stockholm. This seems possible thanks to the night train Hamburg-Stockholm.There are different routes to reach Hamburg. The quickest one seems through Paris and Cologne. The good point is that there are nearly hourly Cologne-Hamburg trains so if I get delayed in Paris, I can hope to catch up and be on time in Hamburg. The drawback is the high reservation fee on the Eurostar to Cologne : 32 € (compared to 42 € for a full ticket, checked today!). What would be your advice ? There are alternative routes through Brussels, Mannheim or Karlsruhe. They seem at first glance to take more time. I read about the two Hamburg-Stockholm night trains. Which one have you best experienced ? On the practical point of view, the Snälltåget leaves later, 23h59 (within same travel day I understand ?) so that may be safer. And I can find it on the Snälltåget’s calendar on t
I am traveling to France & Spain in April (Aix to Barcelona and then to Lyon). Would like to make reservations for the AVE International (the high-speed direct) trains that seem to be run only by Renfe now (when it used to be a France/Spain collaboration). After much searching & frustration, I have learned that the reservations can only be made at a train station, and that it has to be a train station in Spain?? Can someone provide me with details of what that entails?Do all pass holders have to be in person at the train station to make reservations (there will be four of us)? I ask because I am wondering if one of the pass holders (who is currently already in Aix) could make the reservations for all of us at the Aix TGV station? (though clearly this station is in France not Spain, so question 2 below:) Some places it seems to say that reservations can only be made at Spain stations. But if that’s the case, is it not possible to make a reservation to get from France to Sp
Hi Guys,I like visit Mont St Michel. How should I travel and ensure I have book all tickets for both way? I had check and given the following schedule :Paris Montparnasse 1 Et2 to Villedieu Les Poeles - this by by train. And seats are able to be book.Transfer by Bus 36871 From Villedieu Les Poeles to Le Mont Michel . My questions is how do i book the bus tickets in advance so that I’m sure of having a seat in the bus? CAn the Europass by use for the bus transfer?
I am thinking of buying a eurail pass. It will certainly be cheaper than paying for the journeys I have planned through normal booking methods. However I will want seat reservations on all my journeys (in France and Italy) and I would not want to proceed with the purchase of a Eurail pass if this was not guaranteed, I am too early to book seats on the actual journeys planned. However I thought I would test out the system by seeing if it is possible to book up seats on certain journeys but just stopping short of the paying up stage. It seems, however, that I cannot test out the reservation system until I have paid for a pass. And I am not prepared to pay for the pass until I have tested the reservation system. Catch 22!! Any suggestions how I might get round this problem? Peter
Hi everyone!I am wanting to book a seat reservation on a Deutsche Bahn Amsterdam to Berlin on June 5th 2024. I want to save some money and do it directly through their wesbite. Orginally, when I searched the site, I was looking at tickets (that also included reservations) and they were available to purchase, but consdering I have a eurrail pass, I want to use that as my ticket and only purchase the seat reservation.I later found that there is a separate seat reservation search engine, to which I put in my details and was met with the following: As you can see, none of the trains are showing any price info or the option to proceed with a seat reservation. Does anyone know why this is the case? Especially when tickets (bundled with a seat reservation) are available for purchase on the same train? Thanks!
When a night train has this information (2nd class - IRT 2 classe) it’s because doesnt’t have a place to sleep on the reservation? Thank you!Another question, when I’m looking for the connections in romenia, it appears this (but it’s not possible to make the reservation) or that “Prices unavailable No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.”, what can I do in order to plan my trip in romenia, any advices?
