Train connections & reservations

I have been trying to book a seat reservation with a Eurail pass from Domodossola (Italy) to Basel on the direct Eurocity. This train starts in Milan.Eurail says no seat reservation available Rail Europe says need to book at the stationWe need to get to Basel in tome to catch train to Paris and can do this on regional trains without passes but it means an early start from our base at Lake Maggoire (Verbania-Palanza) plus multiple changes.I see there was a post 2 years ago about not being able to reserve this Eurocity but that may now be resolved?Of course it might just be that there are no seats left as  it is early June we need to book.Any suggestions if a reservation is possible and how to get one? Should we just try at a station once we are in Europe? 

I am a holder of a 1st class global pass. Unfortunately all 1st class seats are fully booked. NowI would like to book a 2nd class seat.On Eurostar trains, the system shows that reservations are available for a 2n class price. But when I click, it shows no seats available. On dates where 1st class is available, I can chose bothI guess, the system shows only options for 1st class. How can I tune that I also can book 2nd class when 1st class is not available on this train.(Yes, I know that I can sit in 2nd class with a first class ticket). I just can’t figure it out in the online reservation tool

I am planning a travel and see on OBB the night train München Hbf › Utrecht Centraal for the 16th of June. Why the same train is not present in the interrail plan your trip portal?Can I be sure the train is possible with the pass even if not present in the interrail portal?Also, how can I be sure a train is included in the pass? Thanks!Alessio

We’re trying to book a seat reservation for our trip from amsterdam to morges but we get the message “Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later or find another connection. This connection will be removed from your cart.” We know it’s not the wifi so we’d like to know what the problem is.

Hello,I would like to travel from Oslo to Bergen using a night train then go back towards Oslo while visiting the other train stops between Bergen and Oslo. I would like to do that during August and since it’s to early to book tickets, I would like to know if I need to pay a fee for a sleep cabin for a night train and seats for regular train?thank you 

Hello everyoneI would like to book the night train from Stockholm to Berlin. The travel date is July 12th and I would like to make a reservation now as the European Championships are taking place in Berlin at the same time. However, when I try to do this via the Interrail website, I get the following error message: Prices not availableNo results were found. Reservations for this connection may be sold out for Pass holders. However, there are other ways to find available seats. You can find more information under our timetable.The sj website also says not available when booking. Am I too early with my booking or is there another problem?

Hello,I'm looking at the routes from Athens to Kiato by train (with the interrail pass).When I add the train in the Rail Planner application, I realise that I can't book the ticket, it only says "no reservation" when I click on "show services".Does this mean that I don't need to book a ticket and simply activate it as a journey on the application?Thanks in advance

Hello !Tomorrow (23/03) I planned to travel from Copenhagen to Paris. My trip planned was :7h26 Copenhagen -> Schleswig (seat reserved)10h39 Schleswig -> Hamburg (without seat)12h24 Hamburg -> Mannheim (without seat) (train ICE 77)17h38 Mannheim -> Paris (seat reserved)The problem is that, when I look at Deutsche Bahn site the train from Hamburg to Mannheim does not departure at 12h24 but 10h27 (so 2h before I arrive there...).I see that now when we want to reserve a Copenhagen -> Paris in Interrail website for tomorrow they suggest a trip that goes through Koln and not Mannheim, but I don't have a ticket for Hamburg -> Koln and Koln -> Paris. Do you know what I can do? Should I reserve the other trip and hope they will refund me the first trip?

Hello,I'm contacting you because I'd like to book a night train on the OBB Night jet website, departing from Paris and arriving in Vienna on Saturday 3 August 2024 at 7.12pm, using the Global pass interrail.I see on the OBB Night jet website that there are no offers available on that date. Hello,We would like to book train tickets on the hellenictrain.gr website for the following route: Thessaloniki - Athens.We have bought our Interrail passes, but we don't know what discount formula to choose to indicate that we have an Interrail pass fare. Hello! I’ve been keeping an eye trying to book trains in Italy mid-to-late August! Every search I do seems to turn up no results! I appreciate it’s a popular time so I’ve been keeping an eye out for months now.I’m now concerned that the trains are fully booked! Given my searches are turning up available results in September (where they weren’t before)any advice on what to do/how to reserve would be appreciated. TIA.

Hallo,The community has already given me great guidance and I am back, now with more specific questions :)  If I were to visit one or more of the places below, how are links to get an interrail train to either Luxembourg, or Bruxelles, or Lille / Paris if need be.  Eventually going to London.Ideally I would like to end in Luxembourg as have not been there. Sankt Anton am Arlberg-located near the summit of the Arlberg Pass Seefeld in Tirol. Hello All,I am trying to book six First Class seat reservations from Zurich to Munich return on July 11 and 14,I know that it maybe still early to book seat reservations with DB.The  DB site allows a booking of 4 seats and then another 2 seats reservation for my dates.I am concerned that our party will not be on the same coach.Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and when will it be possible to book mandatoryseat reservations for July?Cheers

Hi, we're a family with 2 adults and 2 kids of 4,5 years old. We're traveling with second class interrail tickets. We're taking the night train from Cerbère to Paris in April. Yesterday I bought our seat reservations asking for a 4-berth couchette in order to  not disturb other travelers. The person selling us the tickets didn't ask any questions and sold us couchette places in a 4 person couchette. Checking the tickets afterwards, I saw that it's a first class couchette while we only have second class interrail. Would this cause any problems? If so, can I still change these tickets to a 6 person couchette?Thanks a lot.Hannah

I am trying to plan my trip in the Eurail app. The train times  says seat reservations are required but says N/A in the pricing area with nothing to click on What does this mean? 

Hi Please can someone help me. I can’t seem to find the train departures from Madrid to Oviedo and between Ferrol to Porto. I have an interrail global pass but the train times aren’t showing in the journey planner. I’ve heard things about Renfe but what can I do? I’m going end of April 2024. Have Renfe not released the tickets yet and if so when will I know? thanks Will

I cannot pay for seat reservations as my payment cards are not accepted. I use a Mastercard. Any ideas as to a resolution?

Hello,I am trying to book seat reservations via oebb.at (as recommended in this community) for traveling in and out of Italy. The trip is on 20-04-2024 from Florence to Lugano. I am trying to book FR9504 from Florence SMN to Milano Centrale, departing at 6:55. And EC316 from Milano to Lugano, departing at 9:10 from Milano Centrale. However, via the OEBB site the seat reservations cannot be booked. What is going wrong? Should I just book them via Interrail reservation tool?Kind regards,Daniël 

Hello,I want to make reservations for TGV in France and Eurostar from Paris to Amsterdam.I’ve seen that the Eurostar can be booked through the website of the SNCB but unfortunaly TGV can’t be and it is not possible on the website of the SNCF neither.But I’ve seen that both can be booked through RailEurope but I wanted to be sure I could trust the website since it is not from any national carrier and that I will not have tickets that are not valid when I board the train or something like that. Does anyone have ever used this website ? And additionnaly do they charge a booking fee and how much ?Thank you very much

hello!We would do a interrail family from Rome (Italy) to Sweden, with stops in Munich, Copenaghen, Malmo, Stockholm, and back. We would use a night train from Rome to Munich, and from Munich to Copenhaghen. But I can’t unterstand if night trains costs are included in Interrail family ticket or not, (in this case the amount of the difference to pay), and how we can book reservations, having children..Thank you very much!

Hello,I’m planning an interrail trip with my friends this summer and we would like to take the nighjet train from Paris to Vienna, but seat reservations seem to be only availble until may. Does someone know how many months in advance the reservations for nightjet usually open ?Thank you
