Hello! Next month I want to take the AVI from Marseille to Madrid. Unfortunately you cannot reserve seats in advance. I don't arrive in Marseille until the evening and the train leaves at 8 a.m. Has anyone ever taken this connection and booked a seat reservation at the train station? Can this be done at the ticket machine? I don’t know what to do and DB and renfe couldn't really help me... Thank you for your tipps :)
HelloLooking at another trip, this time;London → HamburgHamburg → CopenhagenCopenhagen → CologneCologne → LondonObviously there is always the Eurostar suppliment/reservation but I’m getting mixed messages about the 8 euro reservation on the ICE’s from Brussels and back to Paris, some searches say required and some say recommended. It’s end of July/August so may be better not to risk it but I wonder if I’m missing a trick?Thank you in advanceSarah
Dear community,I would like to travel with interrail from London to Paris in the end of July. However, the reservation system says that it is not possible to reserve any seats on the eurostar any more. What are my options to get to Paris now? As I have a specific date that I have to be in Paris, I am not flexible with that.Could I take a train to Dover, take the ferry to Calais and then take a train from Calais to Paris again? I think train tickets are not yet available for that route yet. I guess that I have to pay for the ferry ticket extra and cannot use interrail for that?If there are any other options, it would be great, if you let me know. Thank you very much.
I see that Interrail pass holders get a 30% discount on the Flåm railway in Norway. However, I don’t see any way to book discounted tickets in advance. It’s not possible on the Interrail app. The Flåm railway website redirects to www.norwaysbest.com which only sells full price round-trip tickets. It tells you to book on vy.no for single tickets but that website of course does not do Interrail discounts. Any ideas? Turning up at the ticket office in midsummer hoping for availability is too risky.
Thinking of getting an Interrail-Eurail pass and you're trying to be as cautious as possible considering how much money you're going to have to put out before you even get started?? Good for you for checking! Now know this . . . the Interrail-Eurail PASS IS A SCAM!!!!! Here's why. A few months ago my husband & I bought 2 passes. Yes, we read all the fine print. As early as possible on the very 1st day we were allowed to make reservations, we tried to do just that, but shockingly, we couldn't because seats were already sold out!!! How are seats already sold-out when seat reservations had just opened for Interrail-Eurail passes???!!! We tried and tried, but nothing. We read somewhere on the website to go to our nearest train station. That's what we did and were told that only a very few seats are allotted for Interrail-Eurail pass holders. Then, what exactly is the point of selling (from Google) OVER 600,000 passes? I'll tell you what it is. It's simply a devious way to make (by make
Hello everybody,I want to book the ferry from Travemünde (Germany) to Malmö (Sweden) for my Interrail trip.I red on this link (https://www.interrail.eu/de/plan-your-trip/tips-and-tricks/trains-europe/ferries/finnlines) that I can book the ferry from Travemünde to Malmö, and using the “RAIL” code, I will receive a 50% discount on the booking of the ferry, but on the finnlines website the code isn’t valid.Does anybody know why and if there is another valid Interrail Code to receive a discount? Thank you for your responses :)
Hi, is the night train from Munich to Paris included? If so, what are the seat/ cabin reservation costs for 2 adults, a teenager and a child please? Thanks!
I wanted to make an Interrail trip to Portugal this year, then when I started planning I found out there are almost no train connections between Spain and Portugal…On the Interrail page I saw an article that said there are two trains per day from Vigo (Spain) to Portugal, but it’s from 2017 and in the Railplanner App it tells me there are no connections via Vigo.My original plan was to travel through northern Spain and enter Portugal from there and travel back through southern Spain. Now I just want a route where I can be sure I get into Portugal and out again without too much stress because I only have about 14 days of vacation. I am thankful for any tips or tricks or experiences to help me out, thanks in advance.
Hi all,I’m trying to plan my trip with my family this summer end of june - mid July.We are thinking on Stockholm-Narvik night line but it seems to be be very popular. Considering that, I’d like to know the opening booking date to be sure to get seats?Customer service doesn’t answer. Does anyone knows if there is a specific number of days for booking opening?Extra question: Is this training running each day? Thanks a lot for help.
Hello,At the moment i'm planning my interrail journey for the summer and i want to take the European Sleeper from Amsterdam to Prague, I saw that it soon come into use. But I can't find anywhere how much it costs with a interrail pass, for example a couchette. The only price i can find is on the European Sleeper site itself and the it's €89. But i was hoping that it would be cheaper with an interrail pas ;)) Can someone maybe help me with this? Kind regards,Teun
Hi there! My family and I are travelling from La ciotat to the UK (Stroud) on 2nd June. There’s a 9.55 from La Ciotat to Marseille but that leaves just a 17 min transfer time for the Paris train from Marseille. Is this too short a transfer time? Thank you for any guidance.
It is too early for me to book a seat as they are not available for July yet, but I have been looking to get an indication of price for budgeting.I am using 2x Adult and 1xChild (9) 1st Class Passes. If I try to book a seat reservation it only offers me 2nd class, if I remove the child then 1st is offered. Should I make 3 adult seat reservations as my passes are all 1st Class?
Dear Interrail-Passengers!There are wrong informations in the Interrail App which should be improved as soon as quicky.1: The ICE 105 from Amsterdam to Karlsruhe Hbf will drive at Sunday 25 February and over Utrecht, Arnhem Emmerich(Gr), Oberhausen and so further.2: Interrail is only subject to reservation in the period from June until August (exact days for this year are unknown by me).Hopefully interrail could approve this before 25 February.Ragards,David
I’m trying to book the night train from Rome to Munich for 11 April. My wife and 2 children are travelling so would like a 4 berth cabin for us. I have tried to book through the Interrail website as well as using int.bahn.de, obb.de, trenitalia.com but for vague reasons all have said I can’t make the booking. I have tried to call bahn.de on +49 (0) 30 2970 and +49 (0) 30 311-682904 but constantly.get messages that the service is busy.Any suggestions from people who have managed to make this booking would be gratefully received.
My girlfriend and I are planning an Interrail trip to the UK this summer. We would like to take the Eurostar from Paris to London on 28 June. We have not yet bought an Interrail pass as we are still hoping for a discount. So we have not yet been able to book seats on the Eurostar. Now we are not sure how long we can wait, i.e. how quickly do Eurostar seats usually sell out? I am happy to hear any tips and experiences :)
I’m new to Eurail. I’m looking at the pass that allows 7 days travel in a month. As I understand it, you create a journey (which may be a number of train connections and train changes) save it to your trip and then create a ticket for the day. What happens if you miss a train during the day - say for example, you are not familiar with the station and fail to get to the next train in time? What do you do? Is your ticket for the day valid for another train? Do you need to create a new journey for the day? Assuming no reservations are needed.
We want to make a 1st class seat reservation for EC163 (Zurich 8h40- Innsbruck 12h11) to see the views in the panorama carriage, but we only have 2nd class passes. In the Interrail.eu website, it only appears the option “Seat 2nd class“ but in the OBB wesite it seems to have a choice, as shown in the image below:Is it possible?
We are plannig a trip from Germany (Hannover) to Spain (Malaga). On the Route that we wish to take there is one stopover which does not leave much time to change trains. As we are aware that the German trains are often late we are worried about making our connecting train that requires a reservation. Is it possable (and meaningful) to buy reservations for the following train as well as the train that we are hoping to take?Thank you in advance.
This summer (end of July to the start of August) I will travel from Denmark to the Pyrenees to hike for 1 or 2 weeks. I will buy an interrail pass for the journey.I will buy reservations for the outbound journey. (If all goes well I will be able to do this part of the journey in just 1 travel day - this includes 2 night trains)But since I don't know when I will finish my hike, I can't buy reservations for the home journey in advance. Most trains in France requires a reservation. The only exception is the regional TER-trains. But they are slow. And I am not sure how comfortable they are on a long journey. What my chances of buying a reservation for a French long distance train in the start of August with just a few days notice in the start of August? My home journey starts in Toulouse.I know that some French trains only has limited interrail reservations. I guess they will be sold out. But what about the trains that are not marked as limited in the Interrail Planner?Just to complicate thin
How do i make a reservation when it says “This is a popular train. Seat reservations are recommended but not required.” but there is no option to reserve a seat?I have a 1st Class 15 day pass and the trip I am looking at is may 6 from Vienna to Prague at 11:10AM
Hey y’all, thanks for your help. I’m trying to get from Paris to Barcelona on Wednesday Feb 21. There’s one direct train that isn’t sold out yet, but seems the only ticket left are first class. I have a EUrail global second class pass.I’ve read on similar questions in the community that France/SCNF sometimes allows people to pay the first class reservation fee as an upgrade and it’s fine even if you have a second class pass. But I’ve also read that basically I’d be riding without a valid ticket, so I haven’t bought anything yet. Rather urgent though, since I think this is the last ticket available. Any advice? I could go to Gare du Lyon tomorrow and ask in person. It’s difficult for me to call because I don’t have a valid phone number right now, but I can figure out how to if needed.
Hi,Firstly, lucky to have this forum. Thanks for doing this wonderful job and making our trips easy and worthwhile! My partner and I are traveling to Switzerland from 19th to 23rd July. We are planning to buy a Eurail Global Pass as we intend to travel to other European countries too. I have a few questions about three of my trips here –1. We are planning to do the Golden Round Trip from Lucerne on the 20th of July (Saturday). What journies here are covered totally under the Global Eurail Pass? Bearing in mind that it is a weekend in July, should I make reservations in advance? If I have to book individual tickets for each of the rides, what is the best website to book it from? (Boat to Alpnachstad –> cogwheel train to Pilatus –> Cable Car to Kriens –> Bus to Lucerne)Any other tips and tricks for this particular trip, please? Not able to figure out from this page https://benefitsportal.eurail.com/benefits/swiss-private-trains-benefits/ maybe the term language and place names are
Hi! I already bought an Interrail ticket and now want to reserve train seats. My trip is planned for August. When i try to reserve seats for example from Bergen to Oslo or from Trondheim to Bodo, „no results are found“. I already called the Entur callcenter, but they said i can i can book in may at earliest?! Every „norway train trip“ website told me to reserve as soon as possible… is there another way to reserve or did i do something wrong? Thank you for your answers:)
Hello, I am interested in this route: https://www.eurail.com/en/plan-your-trip/trip-ideas/suggested-itineraries/mediterranean-itinerary.I would like to travel this route from 15th August to 30th August 2024. However, when I try add all the connections in my Eurail app, I only find the ones from Valencia up to Marseille, but from Marseille to Nice, from Nice to Monte Carlo and the rest of the stops in this route seems not to be connected. Why is that? I also have one more question about the seat reservation prices. I will be travelling with my 11 years old son. Eurail pass is free of charge for him, but I see that for most of the trains in this route seat reservations will be required. Will I have to pay x2 for myself and him, or seat reservation for child will be free as well?1. Valencia, Spain 2. Barcelona, Spain 3. Montpellier, France 4. Marseille, France 5. Cannes, France 6. Nice, France 7. Monte Carlo, Monaco 8. Savona, Italy 9. Genoa, Italy 10. Pisa, Italy 11. Livorno, Italy 12. R
Normally an ic train runs from Lille Flandres to Kortrijk. But when I look on different site I do not find it for Sunday 12 May, the Sunday before and after the trains are just online. I wonder if there is an error in system, or there are just no IC trains that Sunday? Where could I find this info back? Thanks in advancedTania
