Train connections & reservations

Another couple of questions about reservations:Is a reservation obligatory on the German part of the ICE Frankfurt - Paris? Is the Interrail pass valid on the bus from Saarbrücken to Luxembourg? And what's the easiest way to reserve a seat?

I am planning a trip late December from the UK into Netherlands/brussels via the Eurostar. I have checked b-europe and can see the availability for interrail reservations is very slim, but on the actual Eurostar website there still seems to be a good amount of availability for all services that dayUK trains have notoriously been either delayed or cancelled during the Christmas period due to strikes and I think its fair to assume this is likely to affect my trip, and potentially my arrival time into st pancreas.On b-europe interrail reservations are available for the 11am eurostar, but thats the last one for the entire day. So I am confused as to whether I would be totally stuck in London if my train is delayed or cancelled, as I will be travelling with an interrail pass, not a specific eurostar ticket.

Hi, I am traveling from CDG to Strasbourg on 12/23 and have changed some details on my not-yet-started trip, meaning that I want to get a different set of Eurail passes. I already booked the reservation for the TGV on the 23rd, which required my pass number. Does anyone happen to know if it possible to change the number for the pass on the reservations? Or will they give me issues the reservation is based on a different pass number? Thanks!-Josh

Hi there,I am a bit confused about using Eurail to travel on Eurostar from London to Paris on the 29th of December this year. I know this time is very busy, and the ticket prices on Eurostar are increasing significantly now. When I used Eurail to book a reservation, it always said, “Prices unavailable. No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out...”. I tried to use B-europe.com to make a reservation, but it’s only available for Eurail pass 1st class (it says that I’m using the 2nd class pass 😥).Is it fine for me to purchase the 1st class anyway, even though I’m using the 2nd pass?I know there is another option to transfer the Eurail 2nd pass to a 1st pass, but I have already made some reservations with my current 2nd pass, and I had to pay for these reservations. Hi everyone,We're italian and we are planning to visit Germany with the One Country German Rail pass.In this pass are included also some italian cities.Just to be sure, are these cities available also for people that have the residence in Italy?

Im planning on going from budapest to vienna using the eurail global pass. I was told it was better to book directly from the train website.So i went to the OBB page. Here with the pass i have the ticket for free but can also make seat reservations for free on first class.My question is do i need a first class pass to make this reservation or i can still do it with the second class pass.Thanks.

Seat reservations in SpainAt the end of the process, I get the error message “Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later or find another connection. This connection will be removed from your cart.”Tried again and again Same result.Very frustrating. Please help,

Hello! Planning to book travel direct from Budapest to Zagreb on the IC204 route (train/bus 6.5 hr) in Jan 2024 but have noticed that this service isn't listed during that month at all. Does anyone know if there are upcoming changes to the route, as I can see this is available to book for the next few weeks, or whether it is too early and yet to be available for seat reservations?Thanks :)

Sometimes I see that there are no reservations to Lille but some available to Brussels. If the train is stopping at Lille there seems no reason not to book the reservation to Brussels and leave at Lille. Obviously only if the train is scheduled to stop at Lille, hence the title.

Im looking to book a trip form vienna to venice on a sleeper train th 16th of january. The rail planner app has the time of the train but you cant make a reservation. It says that you can also go to the obb website. In the website the prices are not available. From what i have seen the prices should be up 180 days in advance. Does anyone know how when will they be available?Thanks.

My son and his best friend (22 and 23) are trying to get from Prague to Basel or Bern on Nov 24, 25, or 26 and eventually to Thun. They have eurail passes. The overnight train looked possible, but when you search Prague to Bern, there’s an issue with the last leg. When I search Prague to Basel, I don’t see the first leg of the prior trip and can’t book it. When I pick other stops, there’s only a paper ticket option, and they’re currently in Lisbon and bouncing around so mailing is not an option. Can they go in person to any train station and pick up a paper ticket?  I’ve searched other trains and there’s one that’s insane—$1300 per ticket. The flight is $500 plus, and I was looking for that over night sleeper experience. 

I like to make a reservation on the TGV train Brussel midi to Lyon Part Dieu. I just cant figure out on which platform i can do this? On b-europe i cant find the connection just under seat reservations and on the  site of France is of course only the French cities you can find. Can someone tell me where i actually can make the seat reservation for this train?kinds regards,Tania

Dear Community members, We have one travel day left in Eurail pass and last day of our trip - 14th of November - we are planning we spend in Disneyland. I am looking on the option to spend our last travel day for travelling from Marne la Valle to Airport Charles de Gaulle but seat reservation is quite expensive, it is showing to me around 80euros for 4 of us. Our flight is scheduled for 11AM. Is seat reservation is really required if the travel time is only 10 minutes? Can we enter the train with Eurail ticket without seat reservation?

I want to book two reservations on the 10:52 train from Stuttgart to Paris on Wednesday December 27 but the response on the Interrail Reservations site is always the same - "Bad RequestYour browser sent a request that this server could not understand.Size of a request header field exceeds server limit." Please can you help - how can I make this reservation? We both have Interrail passes. I have tried via the DB site - but they will only book trains within Germany not into France. The Belgium site will only do Eurostar trains. The French SNCF site doesn’t accept Interrail passes.   

The map on the Eurail site shows no connection between Madrid and Cordoba.  When I use the Plan your Journey section of the Eurail site, Cordoba is not selectable as a destination.  But I am able to get a price for Madrid → Cordoba on the Eurail site.   Can someone help me explain how this works? Thanks,Kathryn

Every combination from Regensburg to Nimes has at least one leg that is not reservable. Most common is Brussels to Nimes or Lyon to Nimes...also Stuttgart to Strasbourg. I have checked out into February and find the same result. Hard to imagine every train is full completely.

Hello. I am a first-time traveler in Europe. I booked reservations ahead of time. However, when I looked at the timetable for my first trip tomorrow, I noticed that there is a ride with the same schedule and seat reservation requirements. But the train names are different. Will this be a problem when I present my printed ticket?

Hello!I need to get a seat reservation for the Puertollano to Badajoz train, but when I called the infoline, the person there told me it’s not possible to book two trains with the change, but I also booked two separate trains right afterwards so why was that not the option?I got the reservations for the rest of my trains in Spain, but not this one. They suggested I just go to the station upon arrival to Puertollano and ask for it there.Does anyone know why this is the case? Should I call them again and ask for just a reservation for that one train? To my knowledge regional trains in Spain do not even require a mandatory reservation, so that only adds to the confusion...

Hello All!  Looking for some help / to have my anxiety alleviated! Have purchased a Eurail for 2 people to travel across Europe. I’ve managed to book as far as Vienna, but from there, almost all trains are giving me the ‘prices unavailable’ error. This is the specific route:  Vienna - Bucharest: 3rd Jan 2024Bucharest - Istanbul: 7th Jan 2024Istanbul - Ankara: 14th Jan 2024. I’m particularly concerned about the Vienna - Bucharest leg as we’d love to get a Night train (the Dacia 347) but that requires a reservation. I’ve tried on OBB as well as the Romanian carrier’s website but both show ‘tickets not available’ or similar.  I understand the December 10th schedule change makes ticket bookings open far later than normal, but most of my research (as well as the OBB website) says night trains/long distance routes should have become available by mid-October.  I feel like it’s safe to assume the schedule hasn’t been released yet and to just keep checking. Im planning on going from Gent to Amsterdam on train. I have the global pass. The journey i chose does not need obligatory seat reservation. But i still want to make one. The problem is i cant find which of the railway companies is the one that operates this trip in order to go to their website and make the reservation.The journey is on the 6th of january departing at 8:27.Thanks

Im looking to make a seat reservation on a sleeper train for me and 6 friends. We all have the global pass. I think that because we are seven people im not able to make the reservation directly from the website. Is there any solution to do this directly from eurail or do i have to go to another website. If so which one? Thanks.

Was anyone else affected by the curtailed service of the Night Jet sleeper 40490 from Vienna to Amsterdam on the 23rd October 2023 leaving at 20:11pm the train was stopped in Passau by police searching for someone and we were told by the conductor to leave the train at Numermburg as the train would be delayed by at least four hours and we would then miss our onward connection from Amsterdam 

hoi,Voor een reis samen met mijn dochter deze kerst naar het noorden van Zweden zag ik dat we voor de meeste treinen moesten reserveren. Omdat die trips nog niet in de app/dienstregeling beschikbaar waren heb ik alle reserveringen via de Zweedse spoorwegmaatschappij gedaan. Nu wil ik onze reizen in de app gaan zetten maar kan deze niet bevestigen, alleen als ik in de app de reserveringskosten aanklik. Weet iemand hoe ik dat kan oplossen?
