Train connections & reservations

Hello! Glad to have found this community for helping out fellow travelers :)I have a group of 4 family members which are going for a 22 day travel through Europe, mostly by trains. They bought the 22 day global pass for 2 adults, 1 youth, 1 senior and are trying to book the trips, starting from Rome Termini, going North until Paris Gare-De-Lyon (they will continue from there to London then Amsterdam and finally Interlaken, before going back to Rome for their return flight to Brazil.The Eurail website is able to find the routes in the planner and add them to the cart, then finally fail with a 500 error when finishing the order. I could find several threads on the community about similar errors and how unreliable the Planner is, so I have directed them to the oebb website to do the reservations. But they don’t seem to be able to find a suitable route even for the start of the journey (Rome-Paris).Their desired starting date is Aug-13, from Rome Termini to Paris Gare-De-Lyon from 9am onwa

We received an email that our Thalys train, on 15\7\2023, from Brussels Midi to Paris Nord, was cancelled. Did anybody else get this?But iff you go to their website, you can still book the same route, same day, same time. But the price is now 3 times as high. I feel like they are cancelling so they can book our seat at higher prices. Anybody know what is really going on?

Hello to all the travelers,It is m first time and I would like ti know how to book a train between Wraclow and Warsaw without paper ticket. I had to manage two weeks before I’m leaving and today it is to late to receive a paper ticket. But I can’t find the way to buy an email reservation beweeh theses two cities.Thanks for your help.Emma

Hi, when I want to reservate the train from Utrecht to Frankfurt (next week), there is a bug in the Interrail-eurail site:So I can't reservate while it is required. What do I have to do?

My niece and I decided to travel through Europe this fall and created a really fun route. One of our plans was to take the night train from Krakow to Budapest on November 10th. To our surprise it seems to be sold out everywhere, is that true? They don’t specifically say that it’s sold out but I get an error every time I try to make a reservation. It says we should be able to book 60 days in advance.If we can’t take this train the rest of our whole route doesn’t work... On cd.cz I get: “No train can be reserved for the specified date/route – this may be due to operational restrictions (e.g. closure activity).” On Interrail.eu I get: “Prices unavailable”When trying to contact CD and the Polish Intercity all I got was a direction on where to book tickets in general. Hope someone can help us figure this out :) This is our first time using Interrail...

Hi all!I am looking to book a night on the Caledonian Sleeper, but I am going to travel with a friend who does not have an interrail pass, he lives in the UK so it’s not a possibility sadly.I asked their customer service what would be the best way to arrange this, and they said I can book a single room supplement just for me, but to tell the train crew before boarding that I have a second person traveling with me. They would then charge us an additional £50.Does anyone have any experience with this? I don’t doubt what their support told me but it feels like a backdoor to save some costs, which I’ll gladly take of course.

I reserved 4 seats for my family later this month traveling from Birmingham to Liverpool. I realize now that I didn’t have to pay, but Eurail directed me to reserve the seats through acprail.com. Since I reserved the seats, I need to change my departing station from BHX to Birmingham New Street. I can’t find any way to do so and any inquiries have to be emailed in. Does anyone know of how I can change it online?

Hi everyone, what happens if I take a train at 6:00 PM and I reach other country the next day morning? Do I have to spend 2 days of my pass? Thanks in advance

Greetings,I am looking for advice for travel arrangements by rail from Budapest to Croatia (destination to be determined, based on ease of travel). We have 4 days to spend and our next stop will be Venice. A friend recommended Pula.It is looking like trains to Pula or Rijeka are upwards of 10 hours in duration and are just generally, more difficult to get to. Is there a sleeper car? Is there an easier way to get to Croatia from Budapest? Is there somewhere else we should consider visiting instead?

I want to reserve my seats for my train from Amsterdam-bruxells midi. However, when I want to reserve it’s says they are no prices available. Where can I reserve my seats? Or can just board the train without seat?  thanks!

Bonjour, J’aurai quelques questions pour un futur voyage J’ai reçu le pass interrail qui permet d’aller en Allemagne pendant 7 jours consécutifs. Souhaitant partir de Grenoble, on me propose des trajets passant par la Suisse, et qui ne sont pas disponibles avec le pass (logique, mais je voudrai juste vérifier que c’est bien normal) Je décide donc de passer par Paris, mais pour y aller dans des délais raisonnables, je dois prendre un TGV, ce qui suppose des frais de réservation de 12€. Ces frais de réservation sont-ils obligatoires ? J’ai entendu à la radio qu’aller en gare permettait de ne pas avoir à payer ces frais. Ensuite, puis-je prendre tous mes billets dans la même gare (pour aller et retour) ? Mais aussi prendre les billets dans une gare française pour les trajets internes en Allemagne ?Comment ça se passe pour faire les réservations finales ? Sur interrail, dans reservation des places assises, j’ajoute au panier et je valide?  Mais ça ne semble pas fonctionner pour les trajet

Hi,I recently travelled from Copenhagen to Hamburg and back with Interrail global pass and for both of the journeys a substitute train was used so the seat reservations couldn't be used. The conductor on the train told us to forget the seat reservations, just find a seat and get a refund afterwards. The seat reservations were bought from DSB (Cph-Hamburg) and DB (Hamburg-Cph). I don't seem to be able to find instructions on how to claim back the seat reservation costs from either of the companys. Can anyone guide me on where and how to do that please? We travelled as a family of 4, can I do that for all of us on the same form since the reservations were bought together? Appreciate any help!

I have already booked my trips but I’ve made a bit of a mess and forgot to switch between the different trip.I have now confirmed reservations for the parts that needed it, but not the overall trip.Is there a way to re-create a trip and link it to the reservation I already have ?I mean… I realise that I can simply use the reservation on the day, but it would be good to have the whole trip saved in the app.

Hi all,I am planning on travelling in France with my “Interrail France Germany Pass” → One Country Pass.Is it possible to travel as a Outbound Journey from Paris to Munich back in my home country with ÖBB Nightjet using only a Reservation?Or is this not possible and I would buy a separate ticket once I cross the border in Strasbourg? Thanks for your help!

Hi, I am planning a trip to France and would like to see the contingent of free reservations without having a pass.I made bad experiences last year that I booked a pass but then for many trains there where no reservations available.

Nous disposons toutes les 2 d’un pass pour partir dans le cadre de l’offre aux jeunes par le gouvernement français et allemand (Interrail France Germany Pass). Nous souhaitons partir le 24 juillet depuis Rouen vers Duessendorf pour un premier arrêt lors de notre voyage. Or, tous les trains que nous pouvons prendre pour y aller sont incompatibles avec le pass, et il en est de même pour les trains à l’intérieur de l’Allemagne mais aussi si nous modifions les dates du voyage. Pourtant, les trains choisis sont bien des trains qui fonctionnent avec le pass (THALYS en l’occurrence pour le 1er train pour ce premier exemple). Je ne comprends donc pas l’intérêt de ce pass puisqu’il est sensé inclure 95% des trains, or il est impossible d’organiser un voyage car aucune réservation n’est possible, comment cela se fait ?Merci et bonne journée

I cannot by reservations on the interrail site due to my 'invalid number'' on the paper pass-this was the same problem last year.On øbb I cannot make a reservation for the high speed trains in Italy, but it's possible to buy regular tickets. Does anybody know where to buy just reservations?Many regards, Anette

Hello, I’m trying to travel from Interlaken to Florence on Aug 26th, but seeing construction on many of the routes. If I avoid them, then I’m only left with one route with three train changes. Below are the routes I’v been looking at:Interlaken → Spiez → Milano → Florence (construction) Interlaken → Zurich → Milano → Florence (construction) Interlaken → Luzern → Lugano → Milano → FlorenceQuestions I have:Would it be best to avoid routes with construction? Do I have to go through immigration at any of the stations? Im worried about time and being able to catch the next train. Are there any other routes with less train changes? Any discounts that I could use for this trip? (I’v been using sbb.ch and trenitalia)  Thank you so much for the help 🙏

Hi, I have paid for tickets from Vienna to Munich on 28 August via RJX booked through OBB. However, I am unable to buy the seats and the obb website says “Tickets not available” .I have checked for other timings for the direct route via RJX and all of them have the same message. My train departure at 8am is busy and there is a message warning that there will be no seats if I do not reserve them. I have also tried buying the seats through DB and it has the same message that ‘reservation not possible’ .Are the trains really filled to the brim already and I will have to cancel the tickets and look for alternatives with connections that seem to have seats ? Or should is there some track works resulting in delays in making seats reservations possible? Appreciate your help and advice pls! Me and my 2 families have  a mobile eurail pass each. However, every leg we wanna book on the seat booking system doesn't work. And I’ve tried to book for each traveller separately or all of 3 travellers.But none of them is available for seat reservation. I’ve tried for two days, thank you so much if anyone can help. 

Hello, on the 25th of July I want to take the train EN40465 from Kranj to Zagreb. This is in the DiscoverEU app. Ever since I tried to book seats (apparently necessary) it says it’s unavailable, made me wonder if there is something wrong with that journey. When I look in the DB app it says me that it’s a night train EN40237/EN415 from Stuttgart to Zagreb (via Kranj and Ljubljana). But still on no other app I can book seats or a ticket. Is there a way to go from Kranj to Zagreb that morning? I have a bus to catch from Zagreb.. Thanks for your help.

Hi,I have some news for travellers to Norway. It is possible to book reservations via Entur.no website, but only if it is only 1 person. Still possible is it via Entur.no chat and Entur Call Center.
