Hi there, first time with Interrail, ambitiously traveling Rome-Amsterdam with two kids! I got a bit put off by the reservation costs as shown on the Interrail planner app...adding another 70€ish to the trip...wow! I guess with ÖBB it's cheaper, but they don't show the same trains (ok, I guess, I can add them 'manually' to the app) and the Trenitalia parts are not bookable? Are they sold out? How do I do this best? Thanks!
Hi,Have ticket from Budapest to Zagreb arriving in at 22:00 but was not able to reserved seat for the 22:30 Zagreb to split overnight train via Interrail site as said no seats. Leaving in 2 days. How can I book this overnight train using my pass instead of staying over and getting the 7am train instead.
From my previous research, IC201 doesn’t require reservations for eurail users However, my eurail app now says reservation is needed. I want to cut the cost of reserving through eurail, and directly do it with the train company. I saw on another community post that this can be done through db or obb website. However, both says reservations not available. Any other way for me to make a reservation?
Morning! I read about the DB and the train union’s negotiations breaking down last week (22nd/23rd June) and there now being a ballot to strike. If it goes ahead I believe the strike would happen over the summer. Does anyone have experience with how long the timings of these things take. ie it’s been said that it takes around 4-5 weeks to get the result of the vote and then from there, if they do vote to strike, how much notice do they usually give before they go on strike? We’re be travelling through/in Germany on 24th July, 28th July and 1st August.OBB night jet Brussels to Vienna 24th JulyVienna to Diessen 28th JulyDiessen to Dijon 1st Aug Thanks in advance for any insight.
Hi everyone,I’m planning to travel from Istanbul to Sofia this summer by the Sofia-Istanbul Express overnight train. The train should be departing from Istanbul Halkali station at 8pm on the 29th of August and arrive at Sofia at 9.37 am the next day. However, when I try adding this trip to the rail planner app, I can only find a train with a connection in Plovdiv (in Bulgaria) between 5.41am and 6.35am on the 30th of August. Therefore I should have to use two travel days to make this trip. I’ve read on the seat61 website that this train is supposed to be direct between the two cities and therefore only cost a travel day. Has anyone done this trip recently and know how I can manage to book it on the rail planner app? Thanks in advance, Arthur
This is my first time traveling internationally. When I first started using the eurail app I used trains that didn’t require reserving seats so I didn’t realize that I had to book seats separately from the app. My issue now is that I’ve just been told that I do have to reserve a seat. I’m trying to travel from Paris to Barcelona on June 30 and I can’t find any available trains. Does anyone have any advice on how I could find tickets to get there or any alternative routes? I’m traveling with a friend so I would need two tickets.Any advice would be really appreciated!Thank you
I was trying to book a train reservation, i’ve understood that the App timetable doesn’t match the Interrail site, because the App is updated only once a month.Due to this mismatch the train that i wanted to book is available on the site, but doesn’t exist on the App.I booked a mobile pass, how can i use the online pass as a ticket if the train the that i wanted to book is available only on the site and is unavailable on the app, how can i show my ticket?
Hello,I booked a reservation (for Eurostar, with a 4 days global pass) and received the electronic ticket by email.I don’t understand how it is linked to my pass. What I mean is: do I need an activated pass with a day ticket generated for this day as well, while using my reservation? Or, because of the reservation, a travelling day will be automatically subtracted from my pass?Thank you very muchJulien
Hi all,My Trip includes legs that pass through Italy. The only reservation options for these parts of the journey were paper tickets. They have been sent but never received and I don’t expect them to arrive before we leave. I have contacted Eurail customer service and they tell me that the only option is to cancel the reservations, apply for a refund, and book the reservations via another site. The problem is that, when I look on other sites, either seat reservations are no long available or they are prohibitively expensive.I’ve read on Trenitalia that if a seat is reserved via a travel agency, a booking confirmation code (PNR) will be issued, which can be shown on the train to prove the seat reservation. Although I haven’t received the paper ticket, I do have a PNR number. Does anyone have any experience of a similar issue with paper tickets for routes through Italy, and know whether the PNR is sufficient without the paper ticket? Thanks in advance!
HiCan you swap reserved seat to a different day on Zagreb to split train?
Hi all!Does anyone have any experience with making a connection between SJ Nord trains? I read you need a minimum of 60 minutes(!) before they guarantee any alternative methods if you miss a connection because of delays. Is it too risky to have an 11 minute connection with their trains? Here’s the journey I have in mind:
Hello, I am looking to purchase an Italo or Trenitalia ticket from Florence to Rome on 14 August. The Italo tickets are showing, but the train times are all over 2 hours. A normal time frame is around 1:30hrs. What is the deal?
My train was canceled on May 19, I made a claim on the snfc website but they did not answer. Where should I request the refund of the ticket and the extra expenses for having canceled that trip.
hi, we booked from geneva to milan on trentitalia. after purchasing the tickets, it said we have to print them at self service kiosks from ITALY ONLY? but if we are leaving from geneva, we cannot do this? is it possible to just use the email with the PNR code to board the train in geneva? if we truly have to print from italy, we will need to cancel
Hi, all:We are 4 people likely to be taking day trips from Oslo to Hamar and Oslo to Larvik/Skien. We know we need to make reservations for the famous Oslo-Myrdal (Flam) trip, but what about these “less popular” and shorter trips? Do we need reservations? Note: We will be there in September and have global Eurail passes.Thank you.
Hello,On the interrail planner it says there is a “replacement bus” between Püspökladany (Hu) and Oradea (Ro). on August 5 2023.But the Deutsche Bahn planner, and MAV-planner say there are just regular trains going.Since im not looking forward to sit 3,5 hours in a bus, i was wondering: WHICH planner is right?? Has anyone an idea about this?kind regards, Martijn - The Netherlands
Hello I am planning to Travel from Bologna to Istanbul.I will arrive in “Bucuresti Nord” at 15:05 and plan to take the Bosphorus Express on the day after at 10:50.I read in this forum that I have to buy tickets for the latter in the Bucuresti station (I should have plenty of time)What I don’t understand is how the reservation works. On the interrail website it says that a single cabin sleeper is € 77 on top of the interrail passhttps://www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/tips-and-tricks/trains-europe/night-trains/bosphorus-express-night-train But on the Seat61 website I can see that the price for the same route without interrail pass is €63:https://www.seat61.com/trains-and-routes/bucharest-and-sofia-to-istanbul-by-train.htm The reason why I ask this question, is because If the reservation with interrail Pass is similar to buy a ticket on my own, I will just buy it on my own and save a day.So my questions are:1) can you confirm that it is possible to buy Bosphorus Express tickets in Bucu
I plan a trip for two people from Porto to Switzerland, stopping in Lisbon, Faro, Seville, Madrid and Narbonne. The trip will be in August. I noticed that seat reservations for Portuguese trains are only possible at Portuguese stations. Since my planning does not allow me to arrive at the first train station (Porto) more than a few hours in advance, I would like to know how full the trains are in Portugal in August. I saw that on the day I want to take the train in Porto, there are a approximately a train every hour. I would like to know if I need to prepare a backup plan in the case that all trains are full. Anyone could give me a piece of information? Best regards.
Hi!I am trying to book seat reservations from Paris Austerlitz to Nice Ville on the 21st of august, but cannot get through the booking as the "continue to traveller details" button does not work.Where/How can I book my seat reservations otherwise? If somebody could help me i would very much appreciate so!Thanks.

I‘ve made a mistake!I‘m going to travel with my son (10). We have got. the 7-days-global-pass.I wanted to start the journey yesterday, but he became ill. Stomach! 🙈So I deactivated the first trip, I thougt so: I just deactivated MY pass, I forgot to deactivate the trip on my son‘s pass. So for him the first travel day (1/7), the one out of the country, is already used. How can I change that? Can somebody from the staff change it for me? Because my son obviosly HASN‘T TRAVELLED YET! I saw it by chance, filling in the new trip, because the child finally feels well again and I want to start travelling in three hours…I will get in trouble on the train! Don‘t I?Thanks a lot.
Hello! l have a little over 2 weeks to do some solo traveling in Europe from roughly July 15th - Aug 1st 2023. This is a spontaneous trip (like all of mine usually are). I've used the trains in northern Italy and Japan when tourism was very low. My concern on this trip is having issues with seat reservations. Id like to start in London take the PO ferry to France (from dover to calais) and then take a train to Paris, Lyons, Marseille, and end in Barcelona. I don't want to set my schedule in stone, and I may spend more days in certain cities depending on the circumstances. Is this route possible to do spontaneously or will the trains on these routes be completely booked in advance? Thanks for the suggestions, Dan
I am planning to travel Stockholm to Trondheim on June 8th. but at present the Vy & Sj timetable show it is bus replacemet service from Duved-Stolien-Trondheim.Sockholm-Duved Train 80Duved-Storlien Bus 571Storlien-Trondheim Bus 71The Interrail planner will only show the train part of the trip Stockholm-Duved. I can book a reservation for that OK.My question is how I can book reservation on the Bus replecement sections Duved-Storlien and Storlien-Trondheim?
How can I view and modify my seat once reservation was made and paid. I need forward facing seats and prefer to sit two seats rather than three or four seats side by side.
