Hi, all: We are two couples who will be doing our first Eurail trip for 23 days in September (1st class Global Pass). We will be based in Oslo, Vienna and Bern for the most part but will take many day trips on trains from those cities. We obviously would like to sit together, e.g. two seats here and two seats there. When reservations are not required, should we get them if they are available and if we don’t get them or they are not available on a certain train, what are the chances of not getting a seat or being able to sit together; or, my biggest nightmare, having to stand in the aisle for the whole trip. And a related question: what is the easiest way to find out if a train has optional reservations? I don’t think the European Rail Timetable shows this.We will be very grateful for any responses you can provide.
Hello! I would like to know if there is a possibility to book seat reservations on the same day of the departure from the train station rather than buying them online. My friends and I already booked seat reservations from Innsbruck to Rome but we don’t have them from Warsaw to Innsbruck because they were selling only paper tickets (the delivery time was too long). Thank you for your help in advance!
Hi! My question is about a specific train, which I’m hoping someone will be able to help me with. We’ve arranged an itinerary to and from Italy (using the Interrail website) which includes an overnight stop in Lausanne on the way out. When I first arranged the itinerary, there was a train shown on the website from Lausanne to Milan at 08:18, so I based the 2nd day of our itinerary around that train. Having subsequently checked on the Interrail website, this train is no longer shown, although it does appear on The SBB and Trenitalia websites, as well as the Trainline website. Is there a reason why the Interrail site is not showing it? Also, if the service is running, can we use our passes and if so, how do we go about booking seat reservations? Thanks in anticipation ,Andy
Hi,I‘m planning my Interrail in France this Summer and I have some problems right know with finding a train on my last day back home to Germany.I’ve looked in several regions and even in Paris but I only find trains who start late in the afternoon or even in the evening which means I always need two travelling days and I have to wait in Germany at some point in the night several hours before the next train leaves and I reach my home early the next morning. I live in Reutlingen in South-West Germany. It’s kind of frustrating that I can’t find any trains who leaves in the morning, even with expensive seat reservations. Often the Interrail App just shows me one single train each day, even from big train stations…It seems that this problem is only on my last day when I need to cross the German border.Maybe I’ve missed something but I could really need some help why this is the case and how I can solve it.Thanks in advance!
I’m looking at reserving seats between Milano Centrale and Geneva however I can’t find any direct trains to reserve seats between the two cities. Even weirder, I can buy full price fares on Trenitalia and Trainline for a direct train. I’ve checked OBB, the Interrail seat reservation service website, not to much avail. Can anyone help? I understand that there is an option to take multiple trains between the two cities, but I just want to take the fastest, most straightforward route as I am a first time interrailer.
Hello,on July 7, we will be travelling with a group of 30 people. We will go from Brussels to Zagreb, and are planning to go via Frankfurt and get the night train in Stuttgart. (Seat reservations for night train are booked.)My question is, do we need to book seat reservations for the ICE train from Brussels to Frankfurt? Because it says reservations are not required, but we are a big group and I am afraid that the train would be full if we have no seat reservations. The starting point of the ICE train is Brussels, so by definition the train would be empty when we would get on the train… But still wondering. (Maybe everyone else has seat reservations so that we cannot get on the train because all seats are reserved?)Thanks in advance!Paulien
Hi,I want to take the night train from Split to Zagreb on the 14th of August with my Eurail ticket, it says I need to book a seat reservation but when I go to the Eurail website to book the seat reservation it says they are not available to be booked. Can I just buy my seat reservation on the day or is it all sold out already?
Hi, I am planning to travel on the TGV 9577 from Karlsruhe to Stuttgart. I know that for TGVs reservations are normally needed, and this would be the case if I was coming from France with the train. However, the Rail Planner app is telling me that no reservation would be required. Is this true? Or is it better to just save the trouble and get a normal ICE train? Thank you for all the help in advance :)
Hello. We are finalizing our travel itinerary to Amsterdam, then the UK. We propose to travel from Amsterdam to London via Thalys then Eurostar in the early fall of this year. We have bought our mobile Global Flex Pass, and have started exploring our train options, although we have not downloaded the app or activated our pass. I have held off on making reservations as,the way I understand the Eurail policy on passes, we need to have our itinerary pretty much set as we will not get any refund on partially used and activated passes. While i understand that once we have our itinerary about set, we should make reservations on high-speed rail travel. How long can I wait until I make reservations on these “fixed” journeys? We are about 80% set about this leg of the journey, and would prefer not to make too many modifications to the reservations. How difficult is it to modify a reservation this far in advance on high-speed train journeys? Are there “travel insurance” that would cover modif
I’m looking to travel from Zurich to Chur on 9/16/23 but all of the trains are showing that no reservations are available. Is that possible this far out?
Hello everyone, I have a reservation from London St Pancras to Amsterdam (11:04, 7th August). Is there anything stopping me getting off in Brussels instead of Amsterdam? Thank you in advance.
Hi there, I’m travelling pretty soon, going from London St. Pancras to Paris Nord and then getting a connection from Paris Est to Strasbourg on the same day. I will have about 40 mins to catch the train to Strasbourg, which (in theory) should be sufficient. As a reservation was required however, I am a little concerned about the options I would have, if the Eurostar was running late and I was to miss the connecting train. Will I be able to simply catch the next train or would I need to speak to the staff at the station first and validate my ticket for the next connection? If so, is the validation dependant on anything (e.g. seat availability for interrrail users? Would there be an additional charge for this?
Hi, I am trying to book Bologna to Innsbruck but get the message ‘No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection’ for all trains on the day I need. Does this mean I can still board without a reservation, or does it mean there are no more spaces available for interrail card holders? I need to travel on the day specified to make other connections. My other option is to pay for a regular ticket separately, which I see I am able to do direct with the train company, but this seems unfair as I have paid for an interrail card. Thank you, Teresa
I can not book a reservation on the train warszawa to vilnius because there is none available anymore. What happens if I get on the train anyway? I have a global pass.
Dear community,I can't book any seat for this trip through the app. Any suggestions how to do it would much appreciated! ThanksBest regardsRobin
Hi Interrail communityMy girlfriend and I are going on Interrail for the first time this summer. We will travel by the night train from Zagreb to Split (departure: 22:30 10th of august). We would like to book two beds in a couchette car but that does not seem possible at Interrail.eu? Only seat reservation seems to be available but if we check https://www.hzpp.hr/en it seems like the couchette cars are not sold out. Is it possible to book two beds in a couchette car beforehand somewhere else or is it only possible to book this at the train station in Zagreb?Thank you in advance for answers!/Frederik
So, the 3rd of july i’m taking a train directly from Berlin to Gdańsk in Poland. I found the tickets on the Eurail app, but whenever i want to buy the tickets, i have to type in the name of my accommodation/hotel name/ hostel name and it also says that it’s a paper ticket. Does that mean that they are shipping the tickets or do i get the tickets by email and then i have to print them myself??
Hi,I was wondering if there is any way to travel from Tallin to Warsaw with the interrail ticket, because I couldn't find any train connection.
Im having issues with completing a reservation, it appears that the website at different times keeps showing availability for an intercity train journey monterosso to milan centrale.this shows on the website reservations page both as a 1017 train, and as a 1255 option. But for both when I try to add to cart and then checkout, it wont go through on the checkout page. When i click accept terms of the fare, i eventually then get a red error message one of the legs cant be completed.Other routes seem to complete but at checkout ask for additional traveller information this route seems to not ask for (i wonder if this is why it bounces at checkout) of country and place of birth. But im keen to have only 2 transfers rather than 3 if possibleIs there a way to confirm if this route is available to checkout or why an error appears?Example of route (in this case IC 666 is the one I’m attempting to book)Travel date 11/9/23 10:03RIOMAGGIORE (Italy)0h 14mRE 22910RegionalShow facilitiesYou're ready
How long does it take for a paper ticket (seat reservation) from Budapest to Ljubljana to arrive in Australia travelling on 26 July but leaving Australia on 20 July is this enough time or can I book at the station when we arrive in Budapest? - Thank you
Hi! I’m looking forward to my first Interrail (15 day Global Pass), starting June 26th. I was hoping to take the Euronight Metropol train from Budapest to Prague on July 1st in the afternoon, arriving at Prague on July 2nd at morning. I’ve been looking how to make a seat reservation, yet I can’t find any way to avoid a postal seat reservation. (Booking through the Hungarian page doesn’t offer seat reservations, and same thing for the Czech page).I will be in Vienna, Austria from June 28th until June 30th, but I don’t trust the seat reservation arriving in time. But if I book at the Budapest station on July 1st at morning, I feel like the train is going to be full, what can I do? Shall I book it in Budapest or risk it with the postal seat reservation, or is the another way around it?
Hi :)I’m trying to make a seat reservations for a journey in italy on oebb.at but it says ticket not available… The journey is IC1517 Bologna Centrale to Firenze Campo di Marte, 16:41 on 30/07. The interrail reservation bookings seems able to be able to book it, and trenitalia shows availability, but öbb, čd, and db all can’t book it… I could just accept the €2 fee :(Thank you!Ru
HelloAfter having purchased my interrail ticket, I am trying to reserve a seat from -Hamburg to Stockholm and-Stockholm to NarvikCurrently it is not possible for the 5-6 of August 2023. I also tried earlier but do not get the option to purchase a place in sleeping car of even a normal seat?Any hint most welcome!Yvan
I have a trip on my Rail Pass that requires a Supplement with a message that I can buy either at the station or onboard. I do not not have a seat reservation as there has not been any mention of that being required. Just want to check that it is okay to board and pay on board for the supplement.
Am I guaranteed a seat on a train which does not require a seat reservation? I do have the trip loaded onto my pass. Appreciate that I cannot sit in a reserved seat but I just want a seat.
