Train connections & reservations

I am trying to book a train in Sweden. The trains that the interrail page suggest does not exist Sj.se page. I find this very odd.

Hi, I would like to go from Bucharest to Istanbul. Since the Bosphorus Express night train is no longer serving the route (AFAIK) I decided sleep in Varna and from there continuing on route Varna Sp. > Kamobat / Kamobat > Plovdiv / Plovdiv > Kapikule. For Kapikule > Halkali there is request for reservartion and I struggle to acquire it online. Because in the Rail Planner app I see the info about it: At the ticket office (subject to availability).That scares me cos I don’t like end up in vacum without any move. Cos how can I know that it wont be full already. As I google it; found out the https://ebilet.tcddtasimacilik.gov.tr but that page returning me: “No travel solution found, try again by changing departure and arrival stations/dates”Whatever date I try it’s still the same message. razpisanie.bdz.bg don’t know the connection. As for bileteinternationale.cfrcalatori.ro/ it knows the station (Bucharest > Halkali) but info is “Not available online” Basically I don’t need

I’ll put two related questions here. 1) Would you recommend a reservation with a first class pass on Friday July 14 from Interlaken to Zurich and for Saturday July 15 from Zurich - Heidelberg ?Part two - for the Interlaken-Zurich route I see 11AM IC 817 on the 14th with the Eurail site showing $13.44 charge for the two of us to reserve.  The Austrian OBB site is showing no cost, but is allowing me to make a reservation.  Is that correct?  I’ve used that site for previous madatory reservations and paid the fee, but wonder if I’ve done something wrong getting a reservation for no cost?  Below is what It is shows, and I also got to download the PDF ticket.ThanksTomSeat reservation1.Adult,Thomas XXXXNo applicable discount2.Adult,Leita XXXXNo applicable discountInterlaken OstZürich Flughafen1st ClassValid for IC 817 on Fri, 14 July 2023 at 11:00Valid from Friday 14. Hello,In the period that a seat reservation is mandatory for travel on ICE to and from the Netherlands I am not able to make a seat reservation through bahn.de and obb. This seems like a technical fault, since I am able to book a regular ticket including a seat reservation for the same journeys. This problem holds for all ICE services to and from the Netherlands from 17 June to mid August. I am also able to make seat reservations before and after the period that a reservation is mandatory, so it seems like a specific error during the period that seat reservations are mandatory.Hopefully, it is soon possible to make seat reservations only for journeys on ICE to and from Amsterdam this summer.Thank you in advance,

I'm trying to book a direct train from Rome to Milan on the 15th of august, and yet it says that there is no direct service for that day. yet when I change the date to the week before or the week after the 15th the direct train is available. I'm wondering is the train down for that week, or is timetable not out yet, or if there is something I'm missing so that I can book the direct train. Thank you

Hi,We have seat reservations on a train from Odense to Copenhagen.This trip will be part of a travel day that will end in Stockholm. Now we have changed our travel plan and will stay in Malmö a few days before continuing to Stockholm. We will therefore not use our interrail pass for the short trip between Odense and Malmö. My question is: Could we still use our seat reservations on the Odense - Copenhagen leg? Or are the seat reservations only valid during a travel day in combination with the interrail pass?

I have a eurail global pass Could anyone kindly advise me is there another way to book this train (Zürich HB to LESCE Bled or Ljubljana on 15 July 2022) without making international calls? I live in Hong Kong and it can be quite expensive to call a number in Switzerland   

We are set to come down into Tirano on the Bernina Express (from Chur) in August, but need to get to Milan from there.  I know there is a regional train, and that we can’t buy our tickets ahead of time.  Is there a place to find the Summer 2023 schedule for this train line?  

I am retired and not good at online reservation I have bought the 7 day ticket I have booked my wife from Amsterdam to Berlin 4/6/23 ahe has a seat and a reservation  I can’t book myself in  ….I am stressing out  is there a number I can ring to solve this   

Hello, My name is Lucie, I am passionate about travelling and I am going to Grece by train with an interail pass. I will take a ferry to Patras that arrive on the 15 of June, from which I would like to go to Kalavryta as the road look amazing. I saw we can book the ticket from Diakopto to Kalavryta but I don't see where we can make only the seat reservation. I just see 'Eurail" in the reduction but it is only 3 euro less than the full price (and more expensive than a youth ticket) so I guess it should not be that as it is quite expensive for an interail pass. Does anyone know more about it?Later on the afternoon, I would like to take a train from Diakopto to Athens. I saw there is one (with one correspondence) at 20H20. I guess it is there eventhough it is not on the interail app? On the website, I saw we can not make seat reservation, is my interail pass therefore enough to get in the train?  Thank you in advance for your attention to my question,  Lucie

Hi,I am trying to make reservations (and have been trying to for weeks) for connections from Istanbul → Sofia, Podgorica → Belgrade and Split → Zagreb, but whenever I click on anything it just says that seat reservations are not available.Seems like a lot of other people have had issues with pre-booking these reservations. Are reservations for all of these supposed to be made at the train station? Are you able to make reservations for the Istanbul → Sofia train at the Sirkeci station in Istanbul, even if the train to Sofia leaves from Halkali station?Any insight would be really appreciated! Hi, from 11 June 2023 will DB - Deutsche Bahn increase the cost of a seat reservation. 2nd class from 4,50 € to 4,90 € per journey 1st class still 5,90 € per journey, but customers with Super Sparpreis and Sparpreis fare will not get the reservation for free anymore. Should be less reserved in 1st class in Germany  Family reservation from 9 € to 9,80 € per journeyYou can pay less using ÖBB or CD reservation service for 3 EUR/train or 72 CKZ/trainBut keep in mind that the price is still for a journey and not per train, so often it cost less than two reservations from ÖBB or CD.Via Interrail.eu or Eurail.com the cost is 6 EUR + 2 EUR fee per train. Avoid this service for trains with optional reservation in middle Europe and German speaking countries.

Hi, I would like to take this connection up to Warszawa from Sofia. Starting from Sofia for Craiova - Arad (IR 349) there is RQ for seat reservation.On IR page it shows that it’s not available cos only paper option from station is possible. But for this connection I did not found on cfrcalatori.ro option only for seat reservation > they requesting me to pay whole ticket. But I have a ticket with IR pass. On their page there is a lot of seat available - but not via interrail page. The info presented is:“No longer availableThis seat reservation is only available as paper ticket and can't bedelivered to you in time. Try booking in person at the station.” OK, so hopefully when I arrive at the staion it will still be possible to get a place. The next connection shown in IR app is: Arad - Warszawa splitted for 2 connections Arad - Wien > Wien - Warszawa Arad - Wien HbfStarting as train named (NT 346) here starting in RO again I have no other option on the web page (international trains

Hi I have been trying to book the EC57 Berlin to Krakow train on 23/6/23 for several weeks. I believe a reservation is required but every time  I try I get reservation cannot be made message.initially I thought this was due to the timetable change 11/6 but this does not to seem to be the case I have tried DB CD and OEBB. Can this train only be booked at a station. Is it likely to sell out ? . I will not be in Europe until 19/6/2023 and this is the only train I have had an issue with so it’s starting to stress me haha 😂 

We’re trying to book train reservations for travel in Poland.  The planner states reservations are compulsory, but there seems no way of booking them.  We’ve looked at both the DB and  PKP websites, but neither gives the possibility of buying reservations.   Which leaves us wondering what to do. We’re planning to travel from Berlin to Warsaw, having traveled from Brussels earlier in the day. No reservation is necessary for the leg between Berlin and Frankfurt Oder, however  reservations are necessary once we enter Poland.  We could buy train tickets, but that’s silly already having an Interrail ticket.  Can anyone offer advice about what we do? Thanks for your help

Hi hoping to get some help please with travelling from Rome to Como on 17 July. Is it possible to do this without reservations? Also, is there a railway station near Biboli Park in Florence and lockers so that we could have a wander around and then get back one of the next trains as we will be using a eurail travel day? Is this allowed? We haven't used our eurail pass yet. Thanks for any advice that you can give to make the most out of this proposed travel day.

I am looking to book a route from Locarno to Munich on 14/07/2023 and I want to take a scenic train directly through the alps. For this reason I was thinking I would book from Locarno → Innsbruck and then Innsbruck → Munich. However the options from Locarno → Innsbruck have a 6 minute transfer in Bellinzona and then a 13 minute transfer in Zurich. I am wondering if these transfers are really doable? Lastly, wondering if I need to buy the optional seat reservations from Bellinzona to Zurich and Zurich to Innsbruck?  Also open to other scenic routes to Munich if any experts have advice! 

Bonjour Je suis en train d’organisé mon voyage interrail pour le mois de septembre mais je n’arrive pas bien à comprendre comment les trains de nuit fonctionne. -Est-ce qu’ils sont compris dans les pass interrail ? -S’ils ne sont pas compris est-ce qu’il est possible de les rajouter au pass? Combien ça coute ?-Est-ce que dans les trains de nuit il y a des couchettes? -J’ai vu sur le site interrail les trajets des trains de nuit mais je ne trouve pas de directe ou même avec des arrêts pour deux de mes long voyages notamment Amsterdam - Copenhague. Comment ça se passe quand il n’y a pas de directe ou pas de ligne ?  Merci beaucoup pour votre renseignement

Hi all!As mentioned above, I'm quite a dummy on understanding how to book trains; especially for the Spanish trains - it doesn't help that I've heard booking Spanish trains are trickier than the others!! I've had a search through the online community, and while helpful, it still doesn't answer some questions for me, like which website I should book, do I need to book in person/over the phone. My bookings are as follows:- May 16: Barcelona to Madrid (afternoon trains, no ticket booked yet)- May 19: Madrid to Barcelona (afternoon trains, no ticket booked yet)​​​​​- May 22: Barcelona to somewhere in Paris (going to Disneyland on 24th, but want to stay as close to Paris Disneyland as possible as our Eurail pass runs out on this date)Thank you in advance!​​​​

I accidentally put the wrong name on a Eurostar reservation. My wife and I both have eurail/interail passes, but traveling separately the first couple of days. I accidentally put her name rather than mine on the Eurostar reservation. Can I change it? And how?
