Train connections & reservations

First time Eurail pass user, and I can’t seem to grasp why the reservations don’t all show up in the same place.  I have read 0n many forums that reservations won’t show up on the app, and I understand that and how you can add it to the planner.  What I don’t understand is with one particular leg of the trip. We have a trip taking the train from Paris to Venice in mid June of 2023, that we purchased through the Eurail app. We have a 7 day pass and this trip is the only one that is marked as a day used on the pass.  We have access to the tickets by clicking “Show My Ticket” and we have a scannable QR code and all of our information for the trip.  What is confusing is that this is the only part of our trip we haven’t seen a charge for on our credit card (we had to pay extra for the reservation).  Every other reservation we’ve had to make we were charged already (shows on our statement), we were sent an email, and we have printable tickets.  These trips include Amsterdam to Paris, Venice

For our trip back to the Netherlands we travel through Basel and Köln. We can add a direct train to our trip, so w’ere ready to travel, our Interrail-account tells me. But we would like to make a seat reservation - which is not absolutely necessary! - for the long journey in busy times. But we can't make that reservation, nor on the Interrail-site, nor on Bahn.de. We do have a littel hope, because de German site mentions a temporarily problem. But Interrail is clear: no seats available. Help! What could be the problem? And what happens if we travel without a seat reservation? Can we be expelled from a train that is overbooked? 

I am trying to book a ticket to go from Berlin Hbf to Berclav on June 24, 2023 at 18:52 with the global interrail pass. It lets me activate the ticket but not reserve a seat. It tells me that there are no seats available, but that with every day. I have searched several different websites that also offer this train but it still doesn't work. The train is the one in the title. If anyone can help me or tell me how I can do it or alternatives (which I have not found either) it would be a great favor. Thanks

I want to book couchettes for 15 people travelling together.  I need to have the couchettes just for our group, so 5 people per 6 person couchette x 3.  Any help on how to do this would be wonderful.

HeyLast wee bit of planning and I’m trying to be calm but still not seeing the Italian trains I’d like for August up yet on the website planner (or app obv).They are on the Trenitalia site now for August so should I just keep checking weekly, I don’t know if any reservations are required yet, maybe the Verona → Milan leg?OBB only shows June so far and times are slightly different (and better)Is the answer just chill, it will all be fine?ThanksSarah  8:23 Venice M → Verona11:43 Verona → Milan14:20 Milan → Varenna  

Hi, I am planning to travel from Tirano to St Moritz and will be taking the Bernia Express Train. I have a second-class pass for Eurail. The eurail app told me I have to buy a supplement. Do I have to purchase a seat reservation or supplement? My family doesn't plan on taking the panoramic train as we will be taking the glacier express the next day.also, will we be able to board the train without any reservation etc to sit in the regular carriages? We are afraid that there might not be any seats left if it is a popular route. We wouldn't want to stand for 2.5 hours.Thanks for the help! 

Booking our train from Bilbao to Madrid, however we are unable to make seat reservations on website or app. What is the alternative, is it best to go to the train station and enquire? 

Folks, Mightily impressed by the depth of knowledge here, and after careful reading, I have one unanswered question.  I have read the thread below, however my use case is a bit different.  As an NL resident, I shall be in Berlin for business in June.  I want to travel from Berlin to Warszawa, and spend a week in Poland, decompress, and explore the country. Then at the end of an all-too-short week, train from Warszawa back to Berlin.I want to reserve on the EIC 49 which is operated by PKP Intercity. Interrail site says, an Interrail one country pass is recognised by "PKP and local-government run companies: Koleje Dolnoslaskie and Przewozy Regionalne” PKP's website has for several days given me website errors, using any PC or network, and a few folks on this forum seem to be having the same issue.  What's my best course of action?  Do I need to visit a PKP ticket counter in Berlin Hbf, assuming there is one hidden behind the queues to the international ticket offices on level +1?  Phone

Hi guys, I need some help. I tried to reserve a seat for the amsterdam central-berlin hbf night train for 19/10. The interrail booking site told me that it was not possible to reserve a seat, even though a reservation was not required. I booked on bahn.com, even at a lower price, and had no problem booking a seat. Do you know the bahn.com site is reliable and is this reservation still valid?

Hi Community. I am travelling across Europe with my wife and 3 kids this summer and we are still trying to full understand the reservation and booking challenges. Thank you all so far for all the information been made available. I have however come up against a problem. We have been trying to book the reservation for travel from Copenhagen to Osnabrück to the 9th of July. When I tried with 5 though OBB is didn’t work but for whatever reason it worked with 4+1 through separate bookings. However when I look at the ticket it only shows reservations for the Hamburg to Osnabrück part of the journey. Is there anyway to confirm if we actually have a booking for the 1st leg? Hi everyone, my first post. I am Interrailing this summer with my teenager. We have booked loads of our trains on Obb Austria. But we need to book some on Bahn.De and I cannot find how to add the interrail discount. We have first class tickets and using the Obb website gave us free reservations, but it only has limited German train details. Also the train times on Obb do not match up with Interrail, so I added them manually to the Interrail app - is this normally?Thanks for any help and advice.

I bought 5 passes. A total of four-section trains need to be booked, but the seat reservation for the one-section train was not available, so we booked and paid for the three-section train first. I'd like to reserve some seats for the remaining one section of the train, what should I do?

Hello. Is it possible to reserve seats online? We are told it is not and you have to present at a station. Furthermore, there seems to be limitations with forward booking, eg We cannot book Barcelona to Marseille until we arrive in Barcelona. Some of our stays are relatively short so this then creates a risk of not being able to get seats which then of course impacts our accommodation reservations. Are we missing something here?

A lot of my trains require reservations. But we have no idea which train we will take. It will depend on what we wind up doing that day. But it says you have to make a reservation 3 hours in advance and they are not refundable. A lot of our journeys offer trains every hour or every 30 mins but still require a reservation. So how can we be flexible if we must make a non refundable reservation? Can I just walk up a few mins before and still get a reservation on the next train or do I really have to book it in advance and lock us into a specific time?

The train currently says full on the eurorail booking site, however after checking the company’s website there is still room on the train. Does eurorail ever add more seats that eurorail passes can reserve leading up to the travel day?

Hi,I am planning to travel around Southern Spain next month.  It seems quite limited or are there not many train lines in that part of Spain?For example - To go from Malaga to Alicante, would I have to go nearly to Madrid and back down?Please can you tell me does the Interrail map shows all possible routes or is there another map with more lines available?Thank you   

Hi, I booked a trip from Florence to Cinque Terre (Monterosso) for August with Frecciarossa. There is a connecting train we have to take at Pisa Centrale but they did not let us reserve our seats and will need to find a vacant unreserved seat. I am wondering if there is a seating chart link I can see where there are vacant unreserved seats in advance.  I will be traveling with my family (wife & 2 kids) so I want to make we do not lose each other if we are in different cars.  Thanks

I have a global pass and was able to make a reservation from London to Paris. For Paris - Zurich (June 10th 7.20 am), though it shows seats are available on the eurail website, when I got to checkout, it says one of the legs is unavailable. I saw another post that said reservations were possible only till Basel, so I tried that as well. In fact, I tried removing one station at a time until it was only Paris - Belfort, but even that didnt work. Any suggestions would be helpful.thanks,sri

My eurostar reservation (with interrailpass 4 days in Europe) for Londen-Brussels on sunday 21 May has been cancelled.... This was supposed to be my 4the trainday and inbound day back to my home country Belgium. I can't change my reservation, website is down for changing dates. I got the cancelations email at 11 am and tried to change tickets at 12 am but already website was down.When I trie it now, I stiml can't get through. When I select new dates and trains that have open seats, I still get the 'Oops, something went wrong' page when I trie to confirm the changes.Additional problem is that I made the reservations on the belgium website, SNCB, for me and my sister. So I have to change 2 tickets from 1 reservation and we are not going to take the same trains as my sister still has 2 weeks of and would travel further in the UK, now that our returntrain has been cancelled. I have tried to reach Eurostar by phone en through their contactform, but don't seem to get through. If I try to cha

Hallo there,maybe anyone here can help.We try to book a seat reservation for Nighttrain from Palermo to Geneva. We are two Interrail-Travellers and want to book the Double Sleeper. The Interrail Reservation Service is not really a help here, but Italian Railway is not even better.We wont be in Italy before, so we dont want to wait until we can ask there at a train station. Is der any other chance to book this Double Sleeper Reservation via Internet? We tried it today for several hours with no success. Even Italiarail is no help, they get things messed up with this specific train.Thanks for any suggestionPhilipp

Hi Quick question when i search the railplanner app it does not show the night train from Krakow to Vienna , is this correct/why is this ?I believe it still runs when I have searched the OBB site Do i just add it manually?    

Hello! I have been enjoying the rail planner on the Eurail app, but it does not work for Greece! Is there a good website or, preferably, app I could use to plan out my trips?
