Train connections & reservations

Hello,I posted a few days ago regarding availability of the night train from Stockholm to Narvik on December 11th.  We have continued to check the schedules every day and this morning tickets are available!! (YAY!) My next question, why are there no 1st class berths available?  Am I searching incorrectly? Is it possible that the train only has 2nd class private sleeper berths? We are ok with 2nd class, but the private bathroom offered in 1st class would be our preference if it is available.  Am I missing something? I’ve checked on both Vy and SJ. Any help is appreciated! 

Hi,  We have planned a 2 week trip around Europe with no real problems, but we cannot book the seat from Malmo to Stockholm (planned for mid July).  We have tried various sites including Interrail and SJ.SE, but no joy.We have the one month interrail pass, which we have done all our other planning on successfully.  It feels like we are just missing a dropdown box or tick box :-( regardsMike

On the website it says that when I arrive in Patras by ferry, I will have to take a bus and a train to get to Piraeus. Where can I find the bus and train timetables? Can't find anything online. How do I know for sure that there will be?

I’m trying to book a train from Utrecht central to Berlin on the 5th of August. I can add the reservations to my cart but when i go to book it says ‘one of your legs is unavailable’. I saw on pervious replies you can use the OBB website to book seat reservations. I’m just wondering how that works in terms of booking seat and not having a proper ticket?? 

Hello,Me and my friends are going an Interrail through Austria, Poland and Germany this summer so we would like to book our seats in advance.  We need 2 seat reservations, more specifically; From WIEN HBF to KRAKOW GLOWNY on 6th july KRAKOW GLOWNY to BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ on 9th july But on the interrail app we can’t make any reservations. If we go to the national train websites we also get the notification that tickets are not available. Can anybody help us?? We don’t know what to do. Thanks in advance!!

Hello, on the 31st of July I’m planning to travel from Bordeaux St Jean to Girona (Viajeros). I already made seat reservations, but when looking at dates in May, I see we (2 persons) could travel for cheaper by not taking the TGV from Narbonne to Girona. (The tickets that I already bought indicate that I can cancel without a fee.) We would then travel via Port-Bou. But unfortunately there is no train planning yet for July… Does anyone know a good app to see which trains there are on this day (when the planning is available)? And has anyone experience with the schedules in Spain and if they change often? We would like to save some money, but for us it wouldn’t be worth a 3 hour transfer in Narbonne for example.I know there are quite some questions, but if you can help me (a little bit), I would be greatful :)

Hello! One question: In the web of cd.cz the train from Budapest to Stuttgart shows one transfer in Augsburg (screenshot one) but the Interrail web says it’s direct (second screenshot).

Hello, we are a family of 5 travelling this summer.We need to travel from Rome to Strasbourg on the Saturday12th August.I realise it’s a very long journey but when I had searched previously the route seemed more straightforward than it is showing now.I am assuming it is due to engineering works but don’t know the easiest way to find out. We have an AirBnB booked in Strasbourg so ideally need to arrive at a reasonable hour. I also don’t know what time the Metro starts in Rome in terms of getting to the main station or maybe we can just get a taxi.Any advice very welcome please!

I'm travelling from Istanbul to Florence (via Budapest) and finding booking / reservations on the interrail site quite complicated - especially for the Istanbul - Budapest leg.I've looked at the Bosphorus night train which seems you can only reserve at the train station in Istanbul.  Does anyone have any tips or route reccomendations particularly from Istanbul - Budpest? The route to Sofia or Bucuresti Nord I'm struggling to be able to reserve on the interrail site?Thank you!!

Hi! I have a few questions about reservations, more specifically night trains. I’m planning to take a night train from Warsaw Central to Budapest (IC407), and I’ve found Polrail and Czech Transport websites to book the reservations for a sleeper. The only thing is, that the shipping is so pricey and I’m anxious I won’t get them in time. Is it possible to book a bed or couchette in station in Warsaw Central? I’ll be traveling mid-June. Another question I have, is how is the station reservation booking process? Even for normal seats. Do you just show your Interrail pass and the train you want to take?  This is my first Interrail trip, so I am a bit confused and anxious about reservations!

I’m looking to book seat reservations for a 2am train in July but it’s saying prices unavailable. On the train company’s website it’s also saying ticket unavailable. Does this mean it’s sold out already? Any advice to get around this? Accommodation is already booked for both locations so would like to avoid moving dates or locations if possible. Thanks!

Hi, I’m trying to reserve couple of seats for August 26th but the trenitalia.com site shows “No travel solution found” for that date and route. I thought this is because I was being too early but I see open reservations for September (starting 16th). Also, the direct train (E51) is already sold out for August 19th (week prior to my booking date). So, this is making me anxious now.QuestionsAre there any other websites I can book direct trains for this route? Why am I not able to book August 26th? Is it because August reservations open late?Any tips or help on this is very much appreciated.Thank you!

Is this still an issue up to now? I cannot proceed with the seat reservations. I am trying to book Italy-Paris but I cannot even book it on oebb.

I want to start my trip from Istanbul which is not in my country of residence, and after 7 days of travel I get to France, can I use inbound day to get to my country (Italy) if it means: depart in the afternoon from France, get in an italian city in the same evening and there take a night train to my final destination?Does it matter I don’t activate my pass in Italy?

I have the global pass so I have 7 days of travel but I would like to travel 8 days, is it possible that I don't activate one of the 8 trips in my pass? If so, are some paid trips the same price with the pass as without? The pass would then be useless on these journeys, so it would be unnecessary to use travel days for these journeys.For instance, if on your 7 trains 3 are on the same price with and without the pass, why take a 7 travel days pass and not a 4 travel days pass completed with 3 online tickets ?

Good day,  With Eurail passes in hand I’m attempting to obtain reservations for the 10:18 PanoramaExpress (PE 902) from BRIG HAHNOFPLATZ to ST. MORITZ on July 14, 2023.  The Eurail Travel Planner online reads “Seat reservations unavailable”.  On the cell phone app it appears that the schedules are not available this far out.  “Sorry, we can’t find any trains that match your search.” Three possibilities:I’m too early to make this request. I’m too late and the reservations are already fully booked. I need to seek these reservations through another agency.Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks….Danke!

I want to travel from barcelona to madrid on the 4th of august with ave 3092. Now you need a seat reservation, but it does say this reservation is not possible via the interrail website, how does this work?

Dear train journey lover, Planning our trip in Scandinavië I have to take the train from Oslo to Kil. We have a short transfer (5 minutes) in Kongsvinger. We need to catch this train otherwise we'll be stuck and miss all the reservated trains later. Does anyone know if this is a big station? May 5th, madrid puerta de atocha to Barcelona Sants, 19:00-21:30. To reserve it says Eurail cannot reserve, and only options are in person at train station, or by email and there’s no email. does this mean the train is fully reserved, or is it a first come first serve basis and you have to get there and reserve it in person?if the latter, how early should I get to the train?

Hello!I am already on the road (railway) heading to Stockholm. I would to visit both Sweden and Norway and enjoy the landscape that offer a railway travel. I planned, for now, this simple route:Stockholm - Oslo - Bergen - Oslo - Trondheim - Bodo - Oslo - Malmo - Copenaghen I was thinking also to do the route Stockholm - Narvik, but it seems like very long and with no interesting intermediate stops.  Do you recommend it anyway? What about Finland?I was able to book with SJ to get in Sweden. About Norway is it true that is it possible to reserve only by phone(Entur)?On the app I see ALL trains need a reservations, is it correct?Thank you :D
