Train connections & reservations

We are travelling in July and have a first class pass. Just wondering which type/company to travel on as we have a few long journeys and want to make it as comfortable as possible. Our journeys are as follows. May seem a bit jumbled but we have certain events that we are attending. Don’t want to do overnightBerlin to Budapest 17/7Budapest to Paris 21/7 Paris to Lake Como via Zurich 24/7Milan to Naples 29/7Thanks 

I did purchase a EU Global Pass for 4 days. I would like to check if I can travel from Roma Termini to Fiumicino Airport by my pass without a reservation?This question actually applies for other routes within Italy as well. For instance, I reserved a trip already but on that day, I miss my train. Can I jump on the next train without purchase another reservation?

Seat reservation isn’t working for our trip. Please advise as we are getting a circular path with no answers.

Hi, I read some news today about how getting from Bardonecchia to Modane on Masdom.There is a bus every hour via the street tunnel. They start right after the arrival of the local train from Turin to Modane. Same for the rides Modane-Bardonecchia, they are connecting to the local trains to Turin.This is a good way to avoid the only train for Interrail/Eurail users on this route the TGV.Cost: 3,40 EUR, pay at the bus driver.Only Monday to Saturday. Does not run on italian holidays.  #Modane 🇨🇵/ #Bardonecchia 🇮🇹 is a border very hard to cross for Interrailers. There are no regional trains and Interrail reservations for highspeed services are limited (TGV) or not possible (Freccia). If you weren't successful at getting a reservation/promo ticket, there is a mini-bus shuttling on Mondays to Saturdays between Modane and Bardonecchia through the Fréjus road tunnel. Hello, I’ll be traveling from Netherlands to Belgrade, Serbia this summer. My final destination is Athens, Greece, but I do not know how to go about. I understand taking the train from Belgrade to Athens is not possible as there is no connection, I know there is a bus but I would rather travel by train as soon as I entered Greece.I was thinking to take a bus from Belgrade to Thessaloniki and then from Thessaloniki a train to Athens, however, this does not show up in the DiscoverEU app. I can not figure out if these trains are actually running. Can someone give me some advice?

Hello,I have bought a Eurail global pass and I am trying to make reservation between Zurich and Paris for 12th May 2023.  The website is not allowing to reserve for any direct train. It is throwing error “One of the legs of your journey could not be booked” and I am trying book a direct high speed train between Zurich to Paris. How to solve this ? My travel is in next 3 weeks.

Hello we have now experienced twice not being able to order seat tickets. On monday 24th we are going from Budapest to Zagreb, but can’t order a seat ticket without paying for a regular ticket as well. On tuesday 25th we Will then go from Zagreb to Split with the only Daily departure, where a seat ticket is required. However, we cannot understand how to order that seat ticket, and we are nervous that the train will be fully booked when we arrive in Zagreb to buy the tickets physically at the train station. Can someone please help us?:)))

Hi I have been trying for a month to reserve a train from France Gare de Lyon to Milano Central. There are trains on the list and every time I put the reservations in my cart then click to proceed to payment I get an error message. I started trying 90 days in advance so I assumed it was all of the protests and such stopping trains from France being booked. I am still getting the error message. Do my Eurail passes not cover an international train from France to Milan, could that be the issue? I have tried different computers, different websites and I am still not able to reserve a seat on a train that says seat reservations are required. I would so appreciate anyone’s help to try to resolve this. 

HelloI have an Interrail Pass that expires on 3 May. However, my journey back home is on the 4th of May. It is cheaper for me to buy another pass for 4 days in a month than a normal standard ticket. It concerns the journey from London St. Pancras to Zurich. I need 2 seat reservations for London - Paris (Eurostar) and Paris - Zurich (TGV).I would like to book these now. However, as 4 May is outside my 1st pass, I get an error message. However, I have bought the 2nd pass and have also activated it.Waiting until the first pass expires on 3 May is not an option, as seat reservations should be made as early as possible....Can anyone help me? I have booked the Irish Ferries sailing to Dublin tomorrow at  14.10.  The 9am train from Euston doesn't get in to Holyhead until 14.18 according to the Interrail and DB websites. Seat 61 advises that the train from Euston gets in at 12 50. I know there can be issues with the timetable on the Interrail site .Anyone know what's the option are as getting an earlier train has some short transfers. There is a bus trip as part of the route from Rhyl in any option I look at . Many thanks.

How can I get a refund form Deutsche Bahn for my seat reservations. ( due to a strike the train doesn't run). Deutsche Bahn says I can refund the seat reservations, but I got them through interrail, and the refund page of interrail says DB doesn't refund them  .

I can already book a seat reservation for the thalys via b europe with my interrail pass for the 28th of july. Via the interrail website itself there is not yet an option. Is it fine to book the reservation with your interrail ticket via the official b-europe thalys website?

HiI am finding ticket reservations for trains in Spain to be challenging, Can anyone advise?I understand long distance/high speed trains in Spain need reservations. You must collect reservations within 72 hrs of booking, at a station in Spain. However these reservations are released to general public 24 hrs before departure and therefore you loose the reservation, if not collected 24 hrs before departure. I am also told there are no charges for reservationsMy first station is Barcelona and I want to go straight on to Madrid I cannot use a reservation because my arrival will be less than 24 hrs from departure.It appears the only solution is for me to go to the ticket office in Barcelona and show my Interail pass and hope there are seats that I can use to get to Madrid. Is this correct?Then if there are seats available I presume these are free with my Interrail pass- Is this also correct. If I am missing something please advise. Thanks Malcolm  

I have a Eurail Pass. When I try to use it to reserve a seat on the Golden Pass trains in Switzerland, I get the message, “Pass Not Valid”.If I reserve a seat using the Golden Pass train website, will my Eurail Pass be accepted as the ticket?

 I am trying to reserve this train. I try to buy it online but then I’m rejected and the Eurail site says something like one of your legs is not available….etc. this is the third train in my trip I’m trying to reserve, and am getting constantly rejected or running into issues as a foreign traveler. I really don’t get why everything looks so simple on the planner, and then when you try to actually do something, there’s tiny details that restrict you from booking and are forced to just figure it out if you can when you’re in person. So frustrated already. Bought a Eurail pass because i made a trip with the planner, now considering returning it because nothing is really working out. Am i better off getting a flight?

Hi, 3rd time Interrailer here, currently travelling Eastern Europe and quite happy with what Interrail/Eurail has to offer here.However, today there was a minor inconvenience:In the Interrail App, I added a trip from „Cesky Krumlov“ to „Ceske Budejovice“. The connection showed up normally, I was able to add it like any other valid connection and the app didn’t say anything like „Not in pass or network“ (see image below) as is usually the case when a train is not included in the pass.However, after I boarded the train (on August 2, 2022) and showed my Interrail Ticket, I was told by the train ticket controller that Interrail was not valid here in trains of GW TrainRegio and that we all had to buy another ticket. Why does Interrail not display the usual warning in the app here? The train company‘s ticket controlling lady said that they wrote to Interrail asking them to do that, but that they still hadn‘t done so.In my humble opinion, we should not have to research each train company’s de

If a train gets cancelled in France can I rebook my trains without losing a travel day? It’s especially for my return trip, I wouldn’t want to pay extra for a train the following day because of no more travelling days available...

I made a seatreservation from Basel to Chiasso. This train, the EC151, goes to Milan. That's the city where We have to go. But a reservation from Chiasso to Milan is impossible when ik look at the trainorganisations ÖBB, DB and NS international. How do I solve this problem?  It's the same train so We can stay in the train. Or what can We do?The day of travelling is 27th of July. 

Hello,I bought my pass, I added it on the application, I chose the trips I want to use and I activated my travel days but I can't book my seats.Example, the train between Paris and Zurich on August 6th 2023 which leaves at 10:22 

Anyone have knowledge about making seat reservations (only) for travel by OBB ‘RJX’ trains between Wien and Innsbruck over the weekend of 22/23 April. The usual booking platforms, including oebb, offer various tickets to buy but not reservations only - all options train choices give “Ticket not available”.

We purchased Train Tickets from WIEN (Vienna) to Salzburg.  The Tickets are good for any train for 48 hours. We want to purchase Seat Reservations for either the 9:28 AM, or the 9:55 AM Direct Train (RJ and RJX). When we go through the process on the Website, the two times that we are interested in show “Ticket Not Available”. The ICE (Intercity) Trains that leaves at 9:15am, and 10:13am have openings for Seat Reservations. But the ICE Trains have over 30 stops between Vienna and Salzburg, and take over an hour longer, than the Direct Trains (at 9:28am & 9:55am).This is for May 15th, a Monday. When i look for the same times (928, and 955) on other Mondays before and after May 15th there have been opennings.Is there something special about Monday May 15th, that they would not open up Seat Reservations for 928 and 955 am Train?If we show up, without Seat Reservations, do the Trains tend to be full? Or are there normally open seats?Someone told us that because 928 and 955 are popular
