Train connections & reservations

I'm currently trying to book the night train from Zagreb to Split for the end of May (very last minute I know, didn't think we'd be going that way!), it says there's no availability but when I checked from Bratislava to Split (same train) there was plenty seats and couchettes available? 

Hello everyone,Since I am new to Interrail, I have a question. I am planning to buy an Interrail Switzerland Pass, but I am not sure if the ride from Zurich to Lugano is 100% covered by the pass or I will have to pay something extra. I am asking this because based on this map,part of the line (namely from Erstfeld to Biasca as well as from Cadenazzo to Lugano) is marked with dotted line, which means that this line is covered, but with reductions.Thanks in advance!

In July-August 2023, I’ll be interrailing across Europe with a few friends. I’m unsure how reservations for couchettes/beds work though. My friends and I are all booking individually but is it possible for us to book the same compartment without having to reserve the whole room privately? For reference we will be travelling on the Berlin-Vienna and Naples-Milan night trains.

Hello, can we use the 1 country pass Switzerland for free in Italy on regional train from Lugano -Tirano? with no reservation and a stop in Sant Moritz.

Two months ago I couldn't  find a train for 17th of August from Budapest to Florence. Now, in April, I can't still find the train. Even if I put another destination, I can't find a train for that day...so I thought it was too early, but now it is still too early? What should I do?

I have saved a journey on railplanner between Munich and Bled for April 28th but now that I searched it again it doesn’t seem to exist. It still shows it on the planner but not when searched again or even at the db website. Is there any way to travel the distance reasonably?

We want to do an interrail, starting in Germany and going forward to Scotland to do some hiking/ camping there (for aprox. 3-4 weeks in August).Are there any things we have to watch out?Do we need reservations for the trains in Scotland or just for the trains to get there? Are there recommended routes for our trip?

Hi there,I'm planning my Interrail trip for next summer. The idea is to travel from the Netherlands to Ancona or Bari (Italy) and from there take the ferry to Albania.Now it seems nice to travel to München by day train and from there take the night train to Ancona. However, I'm struggling with the ICE reservations. The most convenient route would be to take the 08.34 ICE 105 from Utrecht Centraal to Mannheim and change to the 12.30 ICE 595 to München (preferred date 10 July). Now, via the "seat only" option on the Deutsche Bahn website, I try to reserve seats for said trains. The ICE 595 seems to work fine, but for the ICE 105 it says "Reservation temporarily not possible". I've tried several times over the course of 1-2 weeks so it seems persistent and not temporary.Another option is the 11.04 ICE 123 from Utrecht to Cologne/Köln and from there the 13.55 ICE 519 to München. Canadian couple will be traveling Europe by train with first class Global Passes already purchased, mid-May to mid-June 2023. I’ve scoured the forums and picked up the info I can, but am still just a bit confused as to the best way to make the reservations. We are new to this.I’ve used the rail planner app for initial research on the routes we’ll require reservations on, but my understanding is that it isn’t always accurate as to schedules and isn’t ideal for making the reservations through. I’m posting my trip schedule (and reservations needed as I understand it) below and would appreciate feedback on whether it appears correct and the best way to make the reservations I have to.I do understand that I need to generate a pass cover on the Eurail site to make reservations. Can I use one cover for all reservations for both my wife and me? I would like to book a day trip from Paris to Mont St Michel (leaving 7.32am, getting back to Paris at 10.16pm or thereabouts to have time to explore) but I’m not have any luck trying to do this using my eurail pass.  We (2 of us) can only do this on 9th, 10th or 11th of May, is it possible to book seat reservations, or are we too late and nothing available as I don’t seem to be able to make seat reservations.  I haven’t booked anything with my pass yet and this will be our first trip and I’m now wondering if the eural pass is going to be the best option for us.  Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can provide for us newbies.

Hi I am planning our europe holiday and trying to work out the best way for us to use the eurail pass we have purchased. Do I need to purchase a reservation to get from Paris to Nice on 12 May or is there a reservation free way please? We need to make the journey that day so our date isn't flexible but we don't mind a longer scenic route if there is one?

Does anyone know if eurrail’s reservation service charges more than if I were to reserve elsewhere (like at a train station or at another website?) On that note, what’s the cheapest way I can make seat reservations? Do I need to make reservations to travel on the golden pass scenic train from lucerne to interlaken in switzerland? What about travel from places like bern to paris, paris to brussels, and bruges to amsterdam? 

In the app, I set my first journey for 12 May. I was then able to find and buy reservations on the website, as long as they were on 12 May or later. If I searched for an earlier date, I got the “Your Pass isn’t valid on this date.”Then I decided to leave earlier, and added a journey leaving 27 April on the app. The “My Pass” screen confirmed that my pass now started on 27 April.But when I searched for reservations on 27 April, I was told again that my pass wasn’t valid on that date.So what gives? Does it take a while for the website to catch up to the app? Is there some other cause?Thanks!(Side note: I wanted to use the website because it often gave me the option of reserving a seat when the app didn’t.)

I'm travelling from London Euston next Wednesday on the 19.46 to Liverpool Lime Street. If I go straight to Liverpool I need a € 6 seat reservation. The journey takes 2h 21m. If I take the same train from Euston without a reservation I have to change at Crewe to wait for the next EXP train that gets to LLS at 23.17, a total of 3h 31m! If I bought a normal second class ticket with a senior rail card the seat reservation is free, or not necessary. But I've already got a Senior Interrail global pass, so why the cost? Just because it's quicker, even though I'm using the same train an hour later. Or shall I just risk it and pretend I caught the earlier train from London and waited at Crewe for this one... Any suggestions 🤔 

Hi,I would like to take a sleeper train from Amsterdam to Zurich early May, but the eurrail site and OBB site both say that tickets are unavailable for the night jet. I’ve already selected Interrail/eurrail pass holder for the discount and one-way travel option, but all the night jet tickets are “unavailable”. Does this mean that all the night jets are booked full? What should I do?

Hello Community.  We are a family of 4 planning a European vacation this Summer, traveling by train between cities and countries.  We bought the Global Pass with Eurail and are trying to book an overnight train from Paris to Nice, leaving Paris July 1, 2023 and arriving in Nice the morning of July 2nd. The only option seems to have a stop over in Marseille from midnight to 6am.  We really would like to avoid sleeping in a train station.  What are we missing?  How can we find / book an overnight train from Paris to Nice?Thanks in advance for your support,Gabriel

Hello everybody! Looking find a suitable train for overnight transport from Paris to Copenhagen on 17th April 2023 and all I can find within the app are interconnections via Frankurt-Hamburg route or via Brussels-Hamburg but am not able to find something that will suit a family with 2 kids aged 6 & 8 that would like to avoid transfers in the middle of the night... Thought there must be something that I am missing...  will greatly appreciate any tips to plan this journey with the fewest transfers.Regards.

Hi, I am super stressed to get some Eurostar reservations after I noticed that there are NONE as soon as you log in with your pass, and ALL while you are not logged in (I wouldn’t have bought a pass for this month if I knew that earlier) but now I am trying to reach a friend which reservation to take (one costs me 89 euros more because I need to buy an extra full fare Thalys from Amsterdam-Brussels as there are no pass quota reservations left) but I am stressed that the shopping cart will expire before I could book them! Anyone knows? Thank you!
