Train connections & reservations

I have the interrail pass and travelling to Paris on the weekend. The last train needs seat reservation but I cannot reserve through the app. It says “Pass holder reservation may be sold out”I have everything planned and really cannot cancel my travel! Is there any other way I can get the seat reservation?Thanks!

Hi, i would like to know what is the best itinerary to take to go from France to the mainland Greece?I general, how long does it take and what pass should i buy? There are no itineraries indicated on the website that's why i would like to know if someone who has done this trip before could help me. Thank you a lot! 

Does it matter that I can’t book on the Eurail pass site and therefore can’t see the trips on my pass app? Both times I have booked a night train.The first from Berlin to Budapest we had to have a seat reservation and booked it through OBB using our pass details. Then the second, from Amsterdam to Zurich, showed it was available and included but wouldn’t let me choose it to make the seat reservation that was recommended - ie my cart was empty. So I have also booked on OBB. Just wondering if it matters that I can’t book them on my pass. Or if I am doing something wrong/not seeing something obvious in the process.Thanks, any help appreciated!

My daughter is traveling and I’m at home trying to help her. She is in London and needs to get to Barcelona. She has the 15 days in 2 months global pass. We do not understand the app or where she needs to go to get her seat reservations. Can someone make this simple for us and explain it step by step? thank you! 

I spent more than an hour trying to book all the reservations for our trip to Europe in April/May.  I go to check-out and says one reservation is no longer available!!  After an hour?  Okay, but it doesn’t say which.  Frustrating.  I try to click back to see if at any point it tells me which reservation is no longer available,  but no, it does not!   Instead, it empties my cart,I wish I had not purchased the Eurail Pass.  The last time I purchased, back in 2018, it was great.  You could speak to someone, spend time with them booking reservations, etc.  Now you get an email back in two days!!  And the reservation prices are all over the place - much more than they said on website.  Plus, a $5 fee per reservation!  

I am trying to make seat reservations for trains from Paris to Lucerne on 7th May 2023. One leg is Paris Est to Strasbourg (France) on ICE9571 leaving Paris Est at 6:55 am.  Even though it shows up in the search with reservation cost, when I go forward and fill in the passenger details, it fails with “‘One of the legs of your journey is not available anymore” error. I am not able to confirm and pay for the reservation. I have searched for topics in the community (thanks for that, there are a lot of good info available) and when I tried to book directly on the train company website but there also I couldn’t go forward. I am attaching a few screenshots below.1/ What is the best way to move forward? I also have a couple of related question.2/ When I planed the trip on eurail.com (not logged in) it showed USD12.80 as the 2nd class seat reservation fee. But, after logging in, for the same train it shows USD24.00 as the fee. In both the searches I have “Included in Pass” filter selected. Som

Hi All,I’m new to this way of travelling and a bit confused about how I can reserve a night train from Zurich to Prague on May 10th 2023. There’s no availability on the interrail site but there is on other sites. How do I book this and can I use my global pass with these other companies? If I can, how do I go about this.Thanks

Hi Everyone,I have bought Interail global pass, and I can not make any reservations. Every time I click on a train to make a reservation, I get a message that says ‘Not available for some travellers...Some of your travellers passes are not valid on this train’.I’ve also heard that the interail app is not reliable, as the train times aren’t updated frequently enough.I want to get a train from London into Paris, and then from Paris to Barcelona. Can someone give me some advice on what to do?Thanks,Davro

Help!!  I have 2 first class passes.I cannot book reservations for two legs of my journey Copenhagen to Hamburg on April 23, depart at 11:01, a direct train and Hanover to Copenhagen on May 7.  depart 11:20am, with connection in Hamburg. I can put the reservations in my cart but when I get to the step of paying, it tells me “Error - One of the legs of your journey is not available anymore.  Please try searching for another connection.”When I go back to make a reservation, it again says there is availability and this nightmare starts again.  

We are traveling from Rome to Florence and then Florence to Milan.  What is the best way to make reservations on the high speed trains?

Hello ! Unclear explanation for me if you have to add journeys in Northern Ireland & Ireland. Scrolling down in "Options" doesn't give me somewhere the opportunity to add train stations in these countries. Could you please clarify ? Thanks !

I have added a journey from Amsterdam central to anvers, it says supplement required, no amount is mentions. Is it similar to seat reservation? My pass is a global pass

My pass will start from 18th April, I'll travel from Rome to Venice on 19th, we are a 4 member group. Is it necessary to reserve the seat now? Or I can reserve it on 18th from Roma termini? 

Hiya, I recently purchased seat reservations for 9 people on a Berlin to Prague train on the interrail.eu website. The email only contained one ticket in one travellers name. Is this an error or can this ticket be used for all 9 travellers in the group? Thanks

Hello everyone:) I've done interrail a couple of times by now, always had great experiences, but I always had 1 rule: never travel through France. High-speed-trains there all need expensive reservations while in germany that's not the case (and traveling from Belgium it's thus important to save a lot of money).But having done interrail a couple of times by now I'm thinking about going somewhere else, like France, Spain and Portugal, might be a nice change of scenery. I was looking at the 'rail network guides' in the app and there is stated that TER and Intercity trains are without mandatory reservations in France. So I thought let's give that a chance:)!The problem here is when I look for connections: where are these trains? Turning off high-speed rail in the app gives no results. I don't mind slow travel, sometimes prefer it when I have the time, but I just can't find these trains? Has someone taken the trains in France with Interrail before or do some french people know how to find t

ça y est pass acheté, voyage crée su rail planner, par contre au moment de la réservation des sièges je me rends compte que je ne trouve pas les mêmes horaires de trajet sur ces 3 app/sites (app rail planner, site interail, site bahn)résultat : trajet réservé sur l’appli rail planner, sièges réservés sur le site bahn mais pour des horaires différents ( 2 min de différence au départ mais moins de différences qu’avec le site interrail!!c’est le cas pour plusieurs trajetsexemple : le 30/04 un bruxelles cologne sur rail planner : bruxelles midi 10h23 - 12h15 (direct)sur interail : 10h - 12h15 (avec une correspondance!)sur bahn : 10h25 - 12h15 (direct)

Hello fellow travellers, I hold a Global Pass with Switzerland as country of residence. I want to travel with EC 197 from Winterthur to Munich. I do not have any inbound/outbound trips left. Since my pass is not valid in Switzerland, I will need to buy a separate ticket for the Swiss part. The last stop of the train in Switzerland is St. Gallen, the first stop after Switzerland is Bregenz. The rail planner app shows a stop of EC 197 in St. Margarethen (there is no such stop, so I presume this is either an error or a virtual stop for planning purposes). I can add the journey St. Margareten to Munich without the app showing this as an outbound journey. My question: Is it sufficient to buy a Swiss ticket to St Margarethen or do I have to buy a ticket to Bregenz? Kind regards,Michael

We want to travel from Nice ville to Turin on the 15th of June.A week earlier there are every day there is almost every hour a connection directly via Savona up north to to Turin.On the 15th of June there is only one connection via Genova!!Also no alternatives as I get a screen with a “no connection possible”.Is it still too early for Italy ( waited for the 1st of april).Thanks

Hi all :) I’m confused with the different route results/suggestions coming from searches on Interrail VS The train line VS Happy rail.As an example I find on intterrail the option to go on APR 17 from Geneva 7.15 to Rotterdam 18.10 (4 changes.On thetrainline.com this option does not exist. Neither on happyrail.com. I’ve used these websites a lot and always put a lot of faith in them. Looking forward to hearing how you deal with this, do most people exclusively use the search on interrail?

Hi! I want to travel from paris to barcelona and I am not sure whether I should be buying a one country pass or a global pass. One of the scheduled trains tells me that if I have a one country pass I need to buy the ticket separatelywhile the other scheduled time does not have any instruction whatsoeverI am a bit confused because the train travels across countries. I do not need a globa pass I am just taking this train
